Welcome, welcome, welcome. Welcome to the S. No, I'm sorry. Welcome to the home of the 60piece party platform. [laughter]

Welcome to the SIAC Sitdown. How you doing out there? I am Sly Williams. He is Jamie Walker. How you doing, Mr. Walker? Man, I'm good, man. How you feeling? How you feeling, world out there, SIA supporters and sit down supporters, I'm good. Hope you are as well, man. I am good. I'm glad to be here, man. Got a lot going on. A lot going on out there in the world of the uh the SIA, man. Got some good news, got some bad news, got some interesting news, man. Just a lot going on, man. A lot. You want to talk about that that moving news, man? I guess we can do that when whenever we uh preview the games. These dates are starting to change, man. Unfortunately. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. They are going to be some changes, but um yeah, I guess we'll talk about that when that come up, man. When we get to the games, because I don't even know all the games that's been changed because of this storm, man. I don't know. I don't know yet. So we you gonna find they gonna find out when we find out. I guess we gonna break some news on the show. Jamie, we gonna break some news on Well, Jamie, man, we might as well jump into this thing, man. We might as well go ahead and break down u last week's games. We might as well break down last week's games. We gonna start off with the most exciting game of the weekend. The big Oh, Lord. The biggest stage of it all on this weekend. Uh, right here. Lane versus M. Lane versus Miles. They played this one in Fairfield, Alabama. Fairfield, Alabama. And Miles Miles, uh, you know, a hearttoppping game, highscoring affair, uh, plenty of offensive action. They win nine to six. Yeah, man. I was looking over some stats, man. Listen. Um, yeah, it it wasn't a barn burner. Uh, you know, Miles scored in the first quarter, then nobody in the second, and then Lane scored their first touchdown in weeks on a pass from, uh, Cawn Overton to uh, Risky Hop. Um, Hop, but the extra point was missed. And then um a safety in the fourth quarter by the Miles defense to shut it out, man. So um yeah. Yeah. Passing leaders for Lane because I want to give Lane a little bit of love. We ain't mention no names, [laughter] defense, nothing. You know what I'm saying? So, so the least we can do is that Cameron Shepard um you know 61 yards and ground, two interceptions and then Cawn Overton um nine completions 138 yards. So you're getting a little bit better in the quarterback play, one touchdown. So man, I mean you know at the end of the day you know Miles um you know pulled out the game but but you know Lane is still going through their uh their growing pains man. So, hope to see improvement from them, but you know, it's still tough right now. But, hey, give them, you know, the horseshoe and hand grenade award. Um, you know, they almost pulled it out, man, in Fairfield, which is which is interesting. I guess the bigger story slot, what what's up with Miles, man? I'm not sure what happened, Miles, man. You look at some of these team stats, man. Miles had 16 first downs. Lane had 12. miles with a total of 286 yards. They ran the ball. They had 202 yards total rushing, but 84 yards passing, bro. Yeah. 84 yards passing, 10 out of 22, but three interceptions, bro. Bruh, not not, you know, we thought we would see a little bit more out of them this year, man. I mean, again, we we, you know, kind of put them in the not yet category. Um, but I thought they'd be a little bit further along. You know, might talk, you know, have a conversation with Coach G and see see what's going on, man. But yeah. Yeah. Lane almost, you know, pulled off the upset, which would been monumental. Yeah, it would have been because I didn't uh count on Lane for getting one win this year. But who knows? Who knows? Stranger things have happened. Stranger things have happened. Uh, speaking of teams, people didn't expect to get one win. My home it off. First win. Coach Thomas Howard and those Tigers out of Savannah State held on to take out Allen University 3638.

You know what?

I'm proud of them cats, man. Like, we we try to hold our biases in as much as possible when we're discussing the games. You know, we got relationships with different coaches. Um, you know what I'm saying? And and and oh, by the way, co coach, we gonna get to it in a second. Coach Huggin said, "Man, them bus rides ain't that ain't that bad, man." He said, "Quit quit messing with her." He said, "The bus rides ain't that bad." He said, "It's a good opportunity to get gain someh can't even get the word out. Uh camaraderie. Uh but yeah, say the bus rides ain't that bad. But man, look, I'm Listen, know Thomas Howard, you've known him longer than I have, but I I've known them a long time, too, man. It you know, I don't know too many that that work harder and are are so eager to have their own team. He waited a while, man. And you know, passionate. You know, you saw that you know you know they got beat 87 to nothing. was it was you know virtual news you know everybody kind of took it but that team has been slowly improved throughout the entire season you know the win loss column you know hadn't reflected how hard they're working um and who they're playing as well they're playing a lot of young guys um but at the end of the day man I'm I'm glad he was able to get his first win big win big win out of them um I I I think sometimes you get stuff that everything kind of comes around and comes comes around right at the right time. And I think that's what happened for uh for Savannah State this game. Uh what they did, they scored a bunch of different ways. They scored on a 98 yard kickoff return. They scored on a pick six. Guy caught it with one hand, too. Caught it one hand and took it the other way. They had some rushing touchdowns. They had a receiving touchdown. I mean, they they played the game. um they they they played a game that they wanted to play a complete game and then and then Allen on the other hand, Allen did not play the game Allen to play. Um just full transparency, I thought Allen was gonna win, you know, just just being honest, I thought Allen was gonna win and I thought Allen was going to lean on Savannah State a little bit. I thought they were going to lean on him and I thought that rushing attack was just going to be too much for too much for uh Savannah State. But they did a great job of of corraling that Allen rushing attack. They had a total of 92 yards. 92 yards for the whole team. I don't know when you seen a coach Pearl back who doesn't have 90 yards, much less the whole team. So um I think this was uh Javis Floyd his first game. He had a total of 86 yards. 20 20 carries, 86 yards. I think that's his first game all year. He did not have 100 100 yards. So I mean, hey man, shut up. They held daddy back. They held daddy back. They held it back. Somebody told him how tall he was. You ain't supposed to run for that much when you that short. So that's that's what happened. That's what happened. So hey man, shout out shout out to the Savannah State Tigers, man. Big win. Big win for y'all. Big win for Savannah State. The first one. The first one for my guy. and and stick around because tomorrow morning, Thursday morning at 11:00, Savannah State has a huge announcement coming up. They're going to announce something and I'm guessing it's going to be streamed on Savannah State website. But, um, they're going to announce something from Ted Wright Stadium. So, you guys want to stick around and check that one out over at Savannah State, man, because that's that's going to be a big one. That's gonna be a big one. Uh, next game on the stage.

I don't know if I saw this one coming the way it came. I don't know if I saw it coming the way it came, but boy, Central State, Central State took on Fort Valley. And my goodness, my goodness, they put up some numbers. They put up, both teams put up big time numbers in this game. Score um score score 45. I'm I'm sorry about I don't got t I got tongue tied. You got shot. That's what it was. Yeah, I know. I know. Got a little shock, man. Let's go. 4532. 4532. Put up big numbers, man. I'm talking about big offensive numbers for both teams. Uh uh Jason, you say this man name because I keep saying his name wrong. Jackson Wasik. Wasik Jackson Wasik 14 for 17, 295 yards, four touchdowns, zero interceptions, and then throw in 54 yards rushing. Man, this kid This kid puts up numbers every game. He He puts up some numbers every game. And not only does he put it up passing, man, he puts it up running the ball, too. He puts it up running the ball, too. Um but but something else though on the other side on the other side and we can we can find that. Yeah, man. Got the got to say I know exactly where you're going. Don Hudson Jr. Don Hudson Jr. put up put up one of those games, man, to make you go, "Oh, man. I I I ain't know Don had it in him, man. He was 32 for 44, 395 yards, five touchdowns, and then throw in another 50 yards running, too, man." Um, I'mma be 58 yards running. I'm sorry. I'm gonna be honest, man. I ain't know Don Hudson Jr. had a passing game like this in him. Man, that might be telling you something because, you know, we we assume that, you know, on a national stage last year, you saw his running ability against Clark [clears throat] Atlanta. Um, but got to understand who the offensive coordinator is, too. and he wants to throw the ball. Uh so when it when it comes to this man that he might have showed something and again they are in that category of not quite yet. I'm so looking forward to next year because you got a bunch of teams if everything comes as a collective and everybody stays and all the things transfer portal is a thing. Um um brother, listen, I remember years ago, you know, covering this this conference wondering where the quarterbacks were. You know what I'm saying? Because you got a bunch of people that, you know, ran the football a lot. We still do, but these quarterbacks are so capable of throwing the ball around, man. And it's it's it's a good thing to see. Now, clearly, um you know, Central State won the game. Jackson Wasik is is a tremendous quarterback, but also Don Hudson putting up those numbers and Central State has a good defense. Now, that's also interesting. Central State, you know, we talk about their offense this year, but they've always had a really good defense and them they've been able to do that as you see some highlights here, man. Um, very interesting going forward. We'll see how they operate. But Fort Valley right now, man, just the the record uh is is not of course where they want to be, but they are one of those teams that you can see definitely could beat you if you if given the opportunity. Yeah, I think if if Fort Valley gets a chance, man, Fort Valley can beat you. But my thing about Fort Valley, it just always seems like the second half Fort Valley seems to fall apart. And I don't know what that is, but it's just the second half and all the games that I cover for Fort Valley. They never do what I need them to do at the second half. And this time, well, you know, they gave up big points in the second quarter. That's when they gave up big points. But it's just like they're not a second half team and and it bit them in the behind uh the first two losses of the year. And now it's coming back in in this game. even though it wasn't the um the second half that did them in. It's just that offense to me that offense has never played a complete game. The offense has never played a complete game. And if we can figure out a way to get Fort Valley's offense to play a complete game, Fort Valley it can can hang with anyone. They can hang with anyone. They got a running back uh Cabalo. Caval I think I said it right this time. Cabalero. And then the backup they got Payne. I think that's his name, the back, but he's a good back, too. And no, I like DJ Hudson. Uh, and and and I do think they have the best receiver in the conference. No offense to sit with, but I think TJ Pendleton is the best receiver in the conference. Um, he had a good game, too. He had uh I think Pendleton had 160 yards receiving. Had 160 yards receiving. JT Pen, I said TJ, I was going to say, why you keep calling that man TJ? I keep reversing. But yeah, he had 162 catches, three touchdowns, 162 yards. Big time game for him. But that's what Valley before Valley lost. So they did they did [clears throat] give Central State they credit. Talk about the winners, man. Big time game from Central State. Uh Avante Burke. Avante Burke. Four catches, 125 yards, two touchdowns. Man, I I just like what they do over there at Central State. I like what they do, man. They even messed around. Uh uh it just it seems like that quarterback, he's in control of the offense. He's so efficient. 14 for 17. 14 for 17. Three incomplete passes, man. That's a man, you don't get much better than that. 295 yards passing, man. Hey, that I love the efficiency, man. I love efficient quarterbacks, man. Not many incompletions. You just getting the ball out. Listen, man. Even more so than the deep pass. That's the highlight reel of it. I get it. But I'm talking about those that find the open man. Find the open man. You just get him the ball because you want to get the ball to your athletes ultimately. You're you're the point guard. You're literally just distributing when it comes to the passing, running the offense. That's that's a bigger tail sign than than you know what you might be able to do with your arm and you know those couple of highlight plays a game. Can you run the offense and can you continue to sustain drives? I I I like what they do, man. I I think you're right, Sly. All right. Well, that's Central State. That's Central State. Next game on the list. Wait, hold on. Hold on. That you introduced the next game. I'm coming back, J. I'm coming back. I told you. I told you I was the number one the number one supporter, man. Uh oh. Uh oh. Uh oh. Listen, you got to do something real quick. But listen, they house Maroon Tigers. They said I wasn't a Moore house fan. Jamie, they said defeated the Tuskegee Golden Tigers by the score of 30 to 28. And Sly had to jump out of one shirt into his Morehouse shirt because he is the number one Morehouse supporter. He is. He is one of them. He listen, he is on campus in convocation. He going to be the the homecoming um um um grand marshal. You know, all the things. They said I wasn't a fan, Jamie. They said I was a Moore house hater. They said I was a more That's what they say. I can't be I got a I got a Moore house, man. How can I be a Moore house hater if I got a Moore House Polo? How can I do it? You You got a mug somewhere, too. Hey, I got the mug some way, too. The mug. The mug at the old studio. Pinky. Yeah. Put the pinky up. Drink.

Put the pinky up when when you drink. Yeah. But dog Moore house took out Tuskegee. Mo House took out Tuskegee in the uh in the Moore House Tuskkegee Classic. I don't I wonder how they decide whose name come first in the classic. Is it the person who won last year? Do they name come first or or or how they figure out who who name come first in that class? Probably alphabetically. I mean they they probably go alphabetically maybe. But I mean I don't know. I don't know, man. It's it's um you however they decided, man, this was a good one. This ended up being a good one. Two voices that um that I heard on there, man. Two classic voices. I got to talk about that. You know, we we we love that part. Charles Ward and Mark Lasser, man. First of all, you got two playby-play voices doing doing a game. It's always interesting. It is. It is always It always dope because always you always see the stat comparing and things of that nature and they're bringing up just stuff. So, it was a great game, man, to to actually hear, but a great game in general, man. You talking about es and flows, backs and forth, you know what I'm saying? Some of those things where, you know, the classic was classic and for the last two years, um, you know, more houses pulled it out, man. But they've been actual good games. It hadn't been, you know, any duds. So, give give Morehouse credit. Um, you know, I talked to um to coach Sherrod today about about how that went and he just says, you know what I'm saying, that that you know, one one day at a time for them, man. Um, they're still trying to establish an identity. This went a long way to you know for the alums and for you know the players in general but for the players you know for him he just treated that game as one more game. He knows you know about the history about the classic but more so than anything it was about um sustained excellence with this football team and he said this is a level to get to um you know another layer to get to where he wants to be in general. Yeah. Hey man, big- time performances out of this game, out of this classic. Miles Scott. Miles Scott finally got back on track. This is this is what we were waiting for and expecting out of Miles Scott. 30 30 for 42, 398 yards. Uh careerhigh 398 was a career high for Miles. Um big time performance, man. He add added uh 10 yards on the ground with carries, but still big time performance for Miles and he finally went over in the record book. So now Miles Scott is your alltime leading passer at Morehouse. He's your all-time leading passer at Morehouse. And something I want to say, and you brought this up a couple of weeks ago, Jamie, for him to have broken those records, for him to have become the all-time leading passer at Moore House. Um, a very interesting fact, Jamie, uh, he's had four offensive coordinators. Yeah, four offensive coordinators. And yet, he still managed to put up all these numbers. You know, a lot of people don't understand that when you get these offensive coordinators coming in, coming in like this, you have to learn a whole new offense in the off season. You got to get used to new play calls, uh, how you call a play, all of this stuff. You got to figure all that out. And you have to do this every year. You got to do it every season. Every offseason, you're doing you're you're establishing and getting a new offense. And for you to go ahead and still set records and break records, man, that that's something awesome, man. Yeah, he still has one more milestone he could possibly get to, and that is the 6,000 yard mark for his career. So, that is the next milestone they he is chasing if I'm not mistaken. um you know been in some meetings with with Mo house because I'm calling the game on um Saturday uh with Mike Shepard um on the Mo house in the SIC network. But yeah, he he still got some stuff he he can um he can you know obtain besides the win. But I'm going tell you what, there's two interesting points with this as well, man. And I don't know if you've ever heard this before. Coach Sher said something. He said in a sense they held him back from throwing. Yeah. He said because they want to establish the run and that identity in the offensive line. So that's why they've concentrated more on the offensive line and and the running game. And when that happens, he says that's when Miles can throw the ball all around the yard, which you saw in the Tuskegee game. M. So that kind of leads us to see what what his philosophy is in general. Um, yeah. Yeah. The internet is useless. The internet is is terrible, bro. They're terrible. Lost cat parlay. Last scene. Oh, I didn't know the Golden Tiger was named Parlay, but that's something boy. Oh boy. But yeah, man. So, so yeah, it it is, you know, it's interesting to kind of see tap into what the philosophy is for that for that team anyway. So, it may answer some questions about, you know, why the stats didn't look the same um earlier in the year. So, hey, who knows? Who knows? Who knows, man? Shout out shout out to Miles Scott and Mile Scott for breaking records and setting records. But now on the on the other side of that coin, uh we did have a a coach let go after this game. Uh yeah, man. Aaron James, we talked about it. If you want to go and do your research, we sat down and we had a hourong discussion. You can go to the SIA sitdown page. Go to the SIA sitdown page and you'll see we talked about it and gave our opinions and everything on it. But uh I guess to keep it in a nutshell, man. Um once again, I speak for Sylvester W. We got to make a decla disclaimer. I don't speak for Jamie and I don't want Jamie to get caught up in none of the stuff that I say. So I want to make sure I put this dis disclaimer out there. That is me, not Jamie saying this. I think it was wrong. I think it was wrong to fire Coach James during the middle of the season like that. All right. Him getting fired during the middle of the season and technically he still had a chance to win the conference. He had a chance to make it at least to the conference championship and you filed. Um I I don't agree with that. Now I don't pay no bills at Tuskegee. So me not agreeing with that don't mean much. It don't mean much. So hey, it don't mean much. But I do think you let the man, you should let the man finish out the season. You let him finish out his season and whatever happens happens after that. But to fire the man before, you know, you know, fire to fire the man like that, I I don't think you fire anybody during the middle season like that. If he's 0 and five, then you can go ahead and say, "Hey, we got to let you go during the middle season." I get it. I get it. But to still you fired a man, he was in second place in the conference. You literally in second place in the conference and you f me, hey, I don't agree. Yeah, I I I'm with you there, man. Um, I I think it's a odd time and and like I said on on on our show the other night, um, I'm not sure if another shoe is dropping or not, but you'll see the response um, to this by the players uh, in the next game. And and so when you see that, um, that'll tell you everything you need to know, uh, as far as his impact. I'm sure these young men u love their coach. He was, you know, um, tough coach, fair-minded coach, all I've ever, you know, talked to. The results may have not been what I'm sure, you know, the powers that be wanted, but at the same time, I think you let him finish out a season, especially if you're that close. If he's over something, hey, that's the business of sport. Uh, but at the same time, while you're in contention, you know, I'm not sure if this is necessarily um the right thing, but it's their thing. So, I'm not going to, you know, judge it either way. It's not something I would have done had I been in that position, but I'm not in that position. So, at the end of the day, you know, they did what they had to do, but I wish him well, man. Um, you know, he he is a talented figure. He is a talented coach. uh he was talented before he he you know became head coach of his alma mater and he'll be back. He had been some places but Cookman and and other spots. He he'll be back and within the space he'll be able to do what he wants to do but he has a family. Hopefully everything is is is taken care of in that light and he'll be back. He'll be back. Yeah. Yeah. you know, hopefully, you know, he's going to land on his feet and, you know, he'll get a job in the off season somewhere and coach somebody else up and then get another chance to coach. But coming home is always hard, man. It's always hard coming home to coach to coach your team again. Coach your team again. Um, that's always a hard task, man. You'll never be, you know, you'll never be what everybody wants you to be. So, he he took a tough one, man. So, shout out to uh Coach James. Um, keep your head up. You know, I know it's tough, but uh, but you'll be back. But you'll be back. So, uh, yeah. So, we said that. So, we'll move on to the next game. The next game. Next game on the list. Oh, I did. Yeah.

Benedict took out Clark and L. Hold on. Hold on a second. Hold on. Uh oh. Uh well, I'll go ahead and introduce it. Listen, they say I'm home, man. Yeah, you they do. Uh Benedict 31, Clark Atlanta 3. Uh yes, on the Benedict Tigers roll over the Clark Atlanta Panthers. Uh you can see the score and what it indicates, man. Right there. Look at that, man. Look, a man of many shirts. Clearly is Sylvester Williams. But hey, man, you got to support the hometown. Got to support the hometown, bro. Hey, the Benedict Tigers, man. Benedict Tigers. Um, I gave Benedict a little bit of a little bit of stuff past couple of weeks. Um, because I I wasn't impressed with what Benedict was doing on offense. I wasn't impressed with what they were doing on offense. Defense still looks defense looked good, but they were giving up a lot of runs. They're giving up a lot of rushing. So, I I was a little bit down on Benedict. And to be quite honest, that run defense from Benedict is not good. They won 31-3. And the reason they won like this, to just be honest, because Clark ain't a good team. They they not good. Clark has some a lot of issues they got to work with. It's a lot of stuff going wrong with Clark. Um they got a quarterback. Uh Xavier Johnson. Xavier Jackson was actually benched this game. He didn't start. Caleb Williams actually started and he was six for 13, 79 yards, two two interception. So he he didn't hit on much. He ain't hit on much. But they just Benedict is bad offensively. But Trayvon Pender Trayvon Pender running back for Benedict. 17 carries 188 yards. Run back for Clark Atlanta. Yep. For Clark Atlanta. No touchdowns though. could not get in the end zone. And that's Benedict. I mean, that's Clark Atlanta and Atlanta's problem. They can't score. They can't score. They move the ball well between the 20s, but they can't get in the end zone. I guess playing Morehouse, they got I guess Well, I guess when everybody play Morehouse, you get in the end zone. You play Morehouse. See, man, you was doing well. You was doing so good, Sly. Go ahead. Keep keep it going. Go ahead. You know, so so that's what happened, man. They couldn't get in the end zone. But here's the thing. Here's the thing. Benedict on the other side, Benedict has a young freshman running back, Christopher Johnson. Christopher Johnson stepped onto the scene. I I first saw him, well, you know, I saw him early in the year, but when I first got to kind of open my eyes was last week against Tuskegee. Last week against Tuskegee, he was killing Tuskegee. I'm talking about he was bam, bam, bam, bam, bam. And then come the final drive, they throw the interception. Coach Dickson stopped going to him. Now, I don't know what was up with that, but I think Coach Dickson learned his lesson. He learned his lesson. He He kept going to this young man. He He gave the young man the ball, and he did not he did not disappoint. He did not disappoint and disappoint at all, man. Um just just big time big time game out of the freshman back. uh 14 carries, und 111 yards, two touchdowns, and he was punishing people when he ran. He wasn't just running the ball. He was punishing people. Um it was a touchdown. It was a touchdown he had uh in the third quarter. I think in the third quarter, let's take a look at it. See All right, here we go. Here's the shotgun. They'll hand it off to the young freshman Johnson. Johnson still running, making people miss. Now he's running somebody over. Johnson bullied his way into the end zone. Johnson. He's a freshman, but he's a grown man out there running the ball. You see his boy running to him when it fell down. Listen. Hey, listen. Hey, the the call, man. Listen, that was a magnificent, magnificent call, man. Who was that? Oh, that guy on the call pretty good, man. He pretty talented dude right there. That guy on that call. Real talented. And I heard it really good looking, too. Really good-look guy on the call, too. Really good looking. But uh but but that kid but that kid the way he ran the ball he run about like a grown man you know 18 year old freshman but he running like a grown man and he will punishing people all game long. Benedict has three bags. If they go anywhere in the nation they start anywhere in the nation. That was gonna be my question to you slot. Is David Smith still still he wasn't hurting. He's good. He running it. Running it. And running it hard, too. David Smith running it hard. He had 14 carries, 67 yards. Uh Ashan Durant, Ashan Durant off of that ACL tear. He had six six attempts, 102 yards for uh one touchdown. He had that big 52 yard game. But I'm talking about those three backs. Give it to you. Have And then they got the kid Pearson, too. Pearson didn't have a good game, but uh Caleb Pearson, another running back. Benedict's running attack is something ferocious. But for some reason, Jet Petty keep throwing the ball. So Jet Petty got to stop throwing the ball. Jet Petty, he was 14 for 24, 191 yards, one touchdown. And this is the thing that bothers me about Jet Petty. Jet Petty can make these short passes. He can make the outs. He can make the quick ends, the quick slants. He can't throw it deep. He He can't throw the ball deep. I'm talking about there were plenty of times where his wide receivers had a step on a man, they he tried to throw it deep. He overthrew him or he underthrew him. You know, quarterbacks won't come back and say, "I tried to throw the back shoulder pass." Nah, nah, you just under threw the ball. Now, he ain't he ain't say that. I'm just saying that's what quarterbacks say. But no, you just under threw the ball. You ain't trying to throw no back shoulder should shoulder B and Blue Jacket for life say better put eight in the box. That's what's going to happen. That's going to happen. They gonna put eight in the box. But here's the thing about Petty. The out routes he can throw. Anything under 10 yards, I'll put my money on Petty. Under 10 yards, he can throw it. He can make it. He can get it there. But you throw it over 10 yards, he ain't getting there. You say, "So, so the quarterback is lacking touch." Yeah, he defin I don't want to say he's lacking touch cuz he can throw the outright. He can throw the inside slant. He could throw that. He just can't throw it deep. Can't throw it deep. Can't throw it deep. You know, that's going that's going to give you some problems when people stack that box up. It's gonna give you some problems. But, uh, but I do I I like Benedict as as a running team, but they cannot stop the run either. They they give up a lot of 100 yard rushes. They give they get a lot of hundred yard rushes. Uh Perry Jonathan Perry said Perry dropped one in the bucket at for a ballot. Yeah. For that game-winning touchdown. He did. He did. But they say a blind squirrel can find the acorn. You know what I'm saying?

Anybody can win the lottery. All you got to do is play. Yep. But but I don't know that that you know I hate to get down on the kid man. I guess he's a good kid. I I I'll say this. Do they look better than last year at the quarterback position? Yeah. Yeah. He better than Ocean. All right. He better than Ocean. All right. Just [snorts] check. I like I like saying the world you saying you the world's tallest [ __ ] You know what I'm saying? You still a [ __ ] at the end of the day, you know? But but I don't know, man. Maybe it's Sunday work out because like I said, anything under 10 yards, he throws it and it looks good when he throws it. It looks good. Those little skinny slants they throw, the little out routes, any drag routes across the middle, he throws it and they look good. And another thing, he can't run either. There are plenty of times where he scramble the pocket. He got outside of the pocket and he's, you know how when you tiptoe down the line waiting, waiting, trying to not cross the line of scrimmage to find your receiver, you gonna wait till the last minute. And and and it's nobody around. Nobody around him. And you got people in the press box, everybody yelling, "Run, run, run." And he's still looking for that receiver and still don't don't uh don't get him. Hey man, uh Perry say Petty still my quarterback blind squirrel or not. Yeah. Hey, he like Tio say that's my quarterback. That's my quarterback. And he says I 100 thousand% agree. Petty not know he ain't no runner. He ain't no runner. So oh well. But anyway, good job for Petty. I guess I don't know. Man, he Benedict Benedict need to figure out they need to figure out how to stop the run and the quarterback need to figure out how to throw the deep ball. If they can do that, they'll be all right. But if he can't figure out how to stop the run and throw the deep ball, Benedict gonna have some issues. They gonna have they gonna have some issues when they play Edward Waters. Speaking of Edward Waters. Speaking of Edward Waters, the game of the week. The game of the week. Jamie, you were there. You were there. You Yes, man. Listen. Listen. Ever Waters Tiger 61, Kentucky State Thoroughbre 42 in what is described as the 60piece with a biscuit and soda game of the millennium. Look man, look look. First of all, great call with Simone Stanley. Um, enjoyed myself immensely. Talented. you see her all over the place. First and foremost, I was just happy to be there. Uh secondly, you're talking about a game of contrast, man, when it comes to what uh a football game and the drama that can be in the game is. Um you know, Kentucky State came in the number one, you know, team in division 2. Um [clears throat] based on the BCFP, uh and Elwood Waters, I think, was fifth at that time. Um, but El Waters, man, came in highly talented team. Lot of accolades for a lot of players this year. Oh, yeah. There you go. There you go. The 60piece spicy t-shirt. Listen, hot spicy party platter. He put it on. He put it on. Listen, Sly. Sly is the number one troll [laughter] of of America and black college. Listen to me, man. He's the number one troll and everybody sees it including presidents of universities [laughter] as well. So listen, so so let me let me just go try to try to break down a summary real quick because it's not long. First half, man, Kentucky State with with the control. Um El Waters actually scored first and a deep touchdown. Uh which was which was a great start, but then Kentucky State started really sustaining offense, got out to a lead. The biggest story of the first half probably for El Waters, almost 200 yards in penalties in the first half. It was they kept jumping off sides based on really the offensive motion of Kentucky State, the clap motion. They kept coming across being too aggressive. And coach Jenkins said um in our pregame meeting, he was like, "The defense is still a work in progress. They're doing well, but they're still a work in progress." Well, they grew up in the second half. We'll get to that in a second. But the halftime score was 2814. You know, Kentucky State was really able to do what it what they wanted to and going into halftime. This is where the turning point of the game 2814. Once you you saw the final score and you see tell you hearing me when it comes to what the first half score was. Second half, then Kentucky State has a drive. They are bogged down on their their 38 yard line, their 38 yard line. They decide to go for it. Fourth and one. I'm still not sure why, but Coach Huggin and and that offensive staff have always been aggressive. U matter of fact, saw some of that aggression in the in in a couple of plays in the first half as well. So, it wasn't any surprise, but I'm surprised with the lead. Why not kick it? Play defense because your defense is playing well, man. That defensive line was still eating, still, you know, making sacks. Even though Tavon Faulk is a dog on G. But what ended up happening was they stopped him. El Waters scores and that was it. Hell with Waters completely woke up. It's like it reminds me of basketball on grass. When you go on a run, you you you can't stop scoring and they can't stop you from scoring. And that's exactly what happened. you had some um some turnovers that gave Edward Water short fields and they put 40 plus points up in the second half to to send Kentucky State home and you know Kentucky State had some opportunities as well to continue scoring. There were there was still some things that they were able to do scoring wise but they could not stop Edward Waters in the second half and it ended up completely flipping and that's when you see the final score 6142. The shenanigans after the game, however, not violent. Wasn't anything that was crazy. You know, anything that anybody got be suspended for, but you know, it was some some trash talk involved. It was, you know, some things going on. And, you know, there was some people involved, athletic director, couple coaches from another side. Oh, here we go. Put your hand down and run back. Get that

50 points. You want to put your hand down and ride back to get that put a 60 on you. A 60 party hot and spicy.

[laughter] President's my favorite dude.

All Atlanta came out. [laughter]

Oh man, he's on for real. Look man, look. SL a 60piece party platter. How spicy. Look man, and the thing about it that No, man. It some stuff we that did get on video. We were doing the ending. Oh, go ahead. Let me ask you a question though before you go. Where does that rank with the pay me my money? [laughter]

What's one and two, bro? Yeah, it is. It is. I'm listen man you know you know coach Washington my man 100 grand so he always gonna be one but look [clears throat] yeah this this will be me'd up I don't know why I ain't gone virtual yet but yeah yeah oh it was it was ugly but man it was it was a rebutt some you know some some some shenanigans that took place from from a Kentucky state coach was a response is what what he said it was I didn't see any of that initially I just saw the ending of And also I saw listen we me and Simone were wrapping up at the end and the booth at at El Edward Waters is on the opposite sides not on the home side. So he walked over looked up in the window and and yelled, "Are you not entertained? Are you [laughter]

listen man?" And I'm in there crying trying to hold myself together to do this to do this ending to this game. But man, you talking about hilarious, but but it was a display of

I wouldn't even say it was just offensive performance, man. The defense of El Waters. Um, you know, Trayvon French and company, that defensive backfield. Look, man, heck of a game. Heck of a game by the defense because they put the offense in really good places to be able to score. Man, give Ever Waters all the props and they have ascended all the way to number one in the BCFB. You know, man, looking at this game, man, uh Tavon Faul Tavon Faul, the young man, was 32 of 40, 490 yards, four touchdowns, one interception. This man put on a passion display and he has been doing it all year long. All year long, Faulk has been giving you what you asked for. Whatever you want, Faulk has been giving it to you. And and check this out. I really really think, man, this kid, you know, I I'mma be honest. When it comes down to HBC player of the year, uh, division two right now, I think it's a two-way race between I know you going and my guy Fab and D. Listen, and he is nasty. He is nasty, too. Let me tell you something about about about Faulk, though, man. Fault reminds me so much of another quarterback that was there a few years ago, Gyron Russell. Um, no, because

it's not that he's going to wow you with athleticism all over the board, but I love a quarterback that can command the offense and just do like he finds the open man. He finds the open man. Even the interception he threw was a good play by Roman Hernandez of Kentucky State. They intercepted, but man, he deep. I said it on Twitter. He just deals, man. He deals. He just And you know what I'm saying? Um um Israel Jean Baptiste, another good game. Had a fumble, came back to redeem himself as well. They have really good receivers. John Tarius Thomas ran well, man. I think this is the first game he really ran well. And coach Jenkins said prior to prior to the game, he said, "Man, look, it may not look the way that he it was supposed to in certain in certain instances, but what ended up happening was, man, John Terres Thomas just has agreed to to do what the offense needs them to do and maintain a spot. He he might not have the accolades and the numbers that that he, you know, would want and that was expected, but at the same time, it was a thing where, hey, he was, you know, he was doing his thing, man. And I think this is the game he broke open um a little bit more. He hadn't been getting 100 yard games like he want like he did last year, but he's working within the confines of what they want in the offense. Well, um, you can't say enough can't say enough about what what El Waters did on that field. Um, I love what they did on the field, but one thing you got to kind of side eye look at. One thing I'm a side eye look at when I break down this whole game is you look at the point that Kentucky State went to Aub State. They mentioned, they're mentioning it in the chat as we speak. Kentucky State went to Alb State last week. They drove to Albony State, came back home, then I think it's a 12, it's a 11 hour trip to Albony State from Frankfurt, Kentucky. And then they had to make a 13hour trip to Fort I mean to El Waters. And you could tell in the second half, you can tell in the second half they was winning. They was tired in that second half. Now, was they tired? Because Edward Waters was slapping them in the mouth, you know, that a lot to do with being tired, too. It's somebody slapping you in the mouth. But but because you got to take those long bus trips back to back, I don't I don't particularly like I don't particularly like them sc Well, they got down there a couple of days before. They did. They left on Thursday morning. They left they left uh early Thursday morning and usually a team travels on Friday, but that's still that's still a long time for kids. I mean, still a long time for your 300lb offensive line on on that bus. That's a lot. That's a lot. And uh Blue Jack for Life SA shouldn't schedule backtoback long trips like that. No. No, they shouldn't. I think that's fair. Yeah, that that's fair. They shouldn't. But here's the thing. schedule was made out, you know, two to three years in advance. The schedule's been out for a while. So, schedule was made when Kentucky State wasn't any good and wasn't any good. So, probably was like this game ain't going to matter, you know. So, maybe I I'm not I don't know if that's the case. I'm just talking. But, but yeah, neither one of them is good. So, it it it don't matter. But, but now they on top of the they on top of the Heat. And this game could very well be a rematch. We could see this game again. We could see this game again in the championship. And me being the selfish person that I am, I want Ever Waters to stay out front, stay in the lead, and Kentucky State to stay in the lead because I'm not going to Kentucky State at 10 o'clock in the morning on a Saturday to watch no championship football game. You know, I ain't doing that. You know, you can have that. So, I'll be at that third place game someway, too. But if if it's in Jacksonville, I I'll make the trip down to Jacksonville. I'll do that. I'll do that. But uh but that's Hey, shout out, man. Shout out to all the people at uh Edward Waters. Big win. Shout out to Dr. Quesar. Interesting point about Dr. Ques. Go ahead. I'm a fan. I'm a fan. And I make no bones about it. I'm a fan, you know. You know, I got a degree. Yeah. Yay for me. You know, I was a college supposed student at one time, too, you know, but when I watch a game, I watch a game from a fans perspective. And I want people who support the team to be fans. And I would love for my academics, the presidents, and the professors to be fans also. That's one reason I like Edwards. That's one reason I like Dr. Faz because he a fan. He went to Alb State when Alb State was winning. He went to Grady. Well, Grady ain't never been good in high school. I don't think Grady No. Yeah. I don't think Grady High School. They probably wasn't good. But the man is a fan. Some people got mad at this. They said, "Well, Dr. Faison shouldn't be down there waving the flag. Dr. Faison shouldn't be down there trash talking on the field." I want to see my higher ups happy and supporting my school. I want to see the passion. I want to see the fire. I don't want my higher ups to stay in that press box to stay in that suite and just come down and give down an award every now and then. I want my higher ups to be invested into the program, into the football program. And so that's what I think he is invested into the program. And when you have presidents who care about their team winning, the team's gonna win. The team's gonna win. You look at Benedict, Dr. Clark, she like winning. She like winning. So she's going to do what it takes to put the right people in place so that her school can win. Dr. Fon like winning. He putting the right people in place so his school can win. So I, you know, I I appreciate my president being down there and doing that. But that's just my little soap box. That's my little soap box. So Oh, well. Nothing wrong with your soap box, sir. Well, check this, man. Jamie, we need to take a quick commercial break. We need to take a quick commercial break. Um, and after that commercial break, man, we gonna go to our new segment, man. We got a new segment that we like to talk about. But here we go. We'll see you right back here on the SIAC Sitdown. We love that you love the SIA Siti Down and we love bringing it to you. We do. We love bringing it to you. I love sitting up here bringing you great SIA information, great sports talk, just giving you some good fun facts. I love doing it, J. Absolutely. So, to continue giving you this hard-hitting coverage, we got to bring in some moola. If we ain't got no money, we we we can't give you the coverage that you need. So, Sly, tell them how they can donate. Make sure you reach us at our cash app. That's dollar sign s i a c s i t d o w n. That's dollar sign s i s sit down. Hit us up in our cash app.

All right, welcome back to the SIA sitdown. It's the SIA sitdown where we talk all things SIA. But now we want to do something a little bit different. Man, Jamie came up with a great idea and and we just had this we talked about this for a while about putting people in the right place, man. Trying to help put people in the right place. Jamie, let's tell them what we got, man. Man, you know what we got, man. Listen, the SIA sitdown search committee finding H.B.CU programs their next head football coach looking for leadership, vision, culture, and success. We got some good ones coming up. Listen, this is going to be a segment that's going to carry us throughout the season. But today, today we got a real good one and it's in almost every space, especially the H.B.CU spaces. Um, but absolutely we got to talk about this young man right here. Do I need to bring him up? Let me see. Yes, this is Anton Suel, assistant head coach and defensive coordinator for the Morgan State Bears. Now, listen, they are very successful this year. very successful. They're doing well. Um, you know, getting out to a really good start. Um, you know, had a loss at Arizona State, but otherwise they beat my Aggies. Um, everybody's beat my Aggies right now. But at the end of the day, they are a much improved squad. Um, but even before their success, um, the that the record reflected, their defense was always a really good squad, man. That re that side of the ball has always been solid. it was just a matter of the offense kind of kind of, you know, getting on the right footing as well. But Anton Suel um is a star within the space and and for several years um those that know really do know. And when you're talking about someone that uh has been coaching defense, younger guy, but he's been in the space for a long time. He is his fifth season in as Morgan State's assistant head coach and defensive coordinator under head coach Damon Wilson. also s oversees the Bears safeties and has played a key role in the development of Morgan State's defense since joining the program in 2022. Um, you know, and again, their record was 4-8, one and four and and MAK played last year, but the defense produced several strong individual performances, um, a couple of shutouts and they were in so many games, man. But also just with him, he came to Morgan State, serve as a defensive coordinator, division 2, perennial power, Buoie State where he played. Um, they allowed of just under 14 points per game. um in their third CIAA championship in a row. Um you know and and he spent also five seasons in the swag under um Henry Frasier's prayer view&m coaching staffs as well. Uh so he has done it for a while. He also got hired at Alabama State um for a brief stint um but decided to go back home essentially. He is a a native of U Maryland. Uh I want to get the town right. is New Let me look it up either. That's right. New Carton, Maryland. Um, graduated from Buoie State. Um, but also has a masters from Prairie View. Um, but he's done the 2009 Football Coaches Academy for the NCAA, 2011 NCA Expert Coaches Academy in Orlando, and um, the NCA NFL Coaches Academy in Tampa. But um they hired him at Alabama State, decided to go back and coach under coach Wilson. they've been attached for a long time as far as um you know they kind of read each other and he but he has been the person that has ran that defense and and so when you're talking about a young coach within the space that is ready to take that next step um you know whether it be the SIC and he's familiar with the SIC as well had a graduate stint at Fort Valley uh so he knows the SIA as well um look no further man he is he one of those guys that that um is young in the space, hadn't had his opportunity yet to be a head coach, but is a top coordinator within the space and deserves his shot. So, Anton Suel, man, is is ready. If you're looking for a coach, listen, remember when it comes to these committees, you ain't got to go out there and spend 80, $90,000, you know, find me and Sly. We can do this. We can do this. We can identify coaches that can lead your program. There you go. There you go. The search committee. the search committee from the SIAC sitdown. Hey Jamie, man, we need to go ahead and get to this man. I see D Ferg over there on the line leaving comments. So that mean he must be ready for us to get off get off uh get off the hell on. All right, we'll do it. Get ready to come on, man. All right, man. Well, let's check this out. We got some games. We got some games. And we are live on Wednesday. It is a hurricane brewing. It's a hurricane brewing in the Gulf of Mexico somewhere out there. So, there may be some cancellations. I think we already have one coming in. Clark Atlanta should be traveling to Fort Valley State University. That game has been postponed. That game has been postponed. Now, it may change a little bit later. I got this news around around 1:30, 2:00 that the game was possibly going to be postponed. So, it could be breaking news or I could just be wrong. Uh, Tuskegee going to Central State. No hurricane to worry about up there. But how do you feel about Tuskegee fresh off the loss of Aaron James going up to uh Central State? How do you feel about that? Um, I think Central State will will win this game. Um, I know there's a lot of emotion involved when it comes to losing your coach, but I also wonder losing your play caller as well and how that looks. Um, you know what I'm saying? So, like when when they talked about who was actually taking over, it's like, okay, we we'll see. But, you know, I'm sure they, you know, have a contingency plan for that. But it'll be interesting to kind of, you know, start it start from scratch with a a new philosophy. So, I think Central State will win. Maybe it's closer based on emotion, but I think Central State will take it. Uh, yeah. Here's my thing, man. You lose Coach James was not only your uh head coach, he was the offensive coordinator, he called the plays, he was the quarterback coach. So now you lose the guy who's calling the plays and you know you're replacing him with an assistant. Now assistant, he's been around Tuskiggee for a while. He's no he's no spring chicken. You know he knows he knows how to coach but he wasn't the guy calling the plays. You know he wasn't the guy in charge of the quarterbacks. He's the offensive line coach. Um how close was he when he when Aaron James was calling the plays? I don't know. And now you want to send him to Central State, you know, and to coach up a win. I I don't see it happening. I don't see it happen. Blue Jacket Blue Jacket for life say uh Central State by 10. Nah, I think Central State's more like uh 15 to 20. I This is This is easily a two touchdown game in my opinion. I think it's a two touchdown game. If they they beat Fort Valley by two touchdowns, I think they'll beat Tuskegee by two touchdowns because you got to think coming off the loss of a coach, that's that's a tough one. That's a tough one. Now, moving on to the next one, it is Spellhouse. It's Spellhouse. Who you know somebody gonna be at Spellhouse? I do know somebody that's going to be at Spellhouse. I me I would be at Spellhouse. um taking on the entertainment. I think the weather um it it'll it'll rain um but I don't think it'll be much of a factor. Man, I rode by the day. Listen, they already got stuff set up, brother. [laughter] Listen, man. This is this is crazy. And I'll be there. Uh, shout out AD Drew. Uh, SID, uh, and and all things Morehouse, um, is [clears throat] is already out there running around like a chicken with his head cut off because he got so much to do out out there. But, um, man, I'mma I'mma hold I'mma hold off in predicting a a who will win. But, what I'll say is this. Uh, Mohouse is playing really well right now. Uh, I I think the running game is what they'll concentrate on. Um, and I think Savannah State, they better not sleep on Savannah State because I think they're gaining confidence as the games are continuing to go on. So, it's a thing where whoever can um whoever can stop the run from both of these squads will be the winner. Well, here here's my thing. Uh, Thomas Howard is going back to his alma m, you know, graduate of Moore House. graduate of Moore House, I think 2002, maybe 2003, something like that, of Morehouse and he's going back to coach there. Uh it will be his second time in the visitors locker room. He was coaching at Lincoln in Missouri when they played Morehouse one time. So, here's the thing. He's going back with a tough defense. His defense is really tough. Miles Scott isn't going to throw for 400 yards against Savannah State. That ain't going to happen. So, Coach Howard's bringing some defense up there. He ain't bringing no offense, though. Quarterback Chel, he's nice guy, but he's not He hadn't did anything impressive to me as a quarterback. Uh they have some good backs there, though. They do have a good running rushing attack at uh Savannah State. Morehouse, they got a good back that uh Devon Chase or Chase Devon. Chase Devon. Savon Red. Uh, yeah, they Morehouse has some talent in that back field. They got talent at the receiver spot. Morehouse has a lot of talent on offense. They don't have any on defense. So, you got two teams that are complete opposite each other. If you took Morehouse offense and Savannah State defense, they would be a really good uh middle of the road team. [laughter]

But but it should be this this should be a good one. But because I think that I think that coach will have this team ready and they want to win one for their coach cuz nobody likes being the opponent on homecoming. It's it's that's the biggest insult ever to to sign me up to play you on your homecoming. So I'mma go Savannah State. All right. Next game up is Miles traveling to Frank for Kentucky for Kentucky State. Um Jamie, Kentucky State gonna kill Miles. Yeah, they are, man. Um Yeah. Yeah, cuz they have have gone through a whole lot this week. Um but if I know Coach Huggin, man, it's it's all in stride. He he talked about how they're still not a finished product as well. And you know, this kind of this I think that last loss will will will aid into fixing those deficiencies. So I think Kentucky State should win. Yeah, I think so, man. You lose the way they lost, man. You know, they were on top of the world and then they lose the game. You got two ways you can play. You can either be, oh, wo is me, woe is me, and then go in there and let Miles knock you in the mouth and Miles win. Or you can be highly pissed off. And I think coach Huggin gonna have his kids highly pissed off. And I think they gonna make Miles pay. Miles gonna have to get on that road. Uh I think it's a eight hour or 9 hour bus uh bus ride up there. Yeah, Kentucky State going to make them pay. They gonna make them pay. Could it could get like could get real like What we got next on the list, man? Uh the battle for Taylor Street. the the hold down on Harden Street. They call it the South Carolina Classic, but I call it the battle for the number one team in Colombia. Benedict taking on Allen. They will be going to uh Charles F. Balden Stadium and it'll be Benedict. Oh, Benedict and Allan. You got one Benedict team that can't stop the run. You got an Allen team that love to run. You got a Allen defense that can't stop nothing. You got a Benedict offense that's learning how to run the ball. Bro, this going to be a high scoring offense. It's gonna be a high scoring. Oh, man. It's gonna be Yeah, we know you bias, Jonathan Perry. We know. We know. Jonathan Perry, his kid plays for Benedict. So, we know Oh, that's what's up. That's We know you biased. I ain't even g I ain't even gonna ask for your uh your opinion on this one, but uh we already know where you going. But anyway, this a tough This this a tough It could be a very quick game, too. It could very quick. Both of them gonna run the ball. So man, I might say Allan. I might I know I know my my heart saying Benedict, but my head saying Allan.

I'm Wow. I'm gonna lean I'mma lean Benedict. I'mma lean Benedict in this one. I think they have the better complement of backs and I think I think they have the better potential defense to stop the run. Yeah, potential ain't get you nothing. True. But but you're asking me to decide between two people. You know what I'm saying? Between two two teams. Yeah, I am. I am. You know what I'm saying? So So what it look like? We This is totally what we think it looked like on paper. So yeah. [laughter] Yeah, I'm Yeah, I'mma lean Benedict on this one. I'm not mad at you for saying I'm not mad at you. But my thing is Jet Petty got to step up. If Jet Petty steps up in this game, Benedict will walk away with it. If he don't, it's going to be out. It's just that simple. Just that simple. He got to step up and make better passes. They keep talking about uh move move uh Tomus Patterson to inside linebacker and BC stops the run. I mean that's a low blow. That is a lowb blow blue jacket for life. Blue Jacket for life said has Allen finished that stadium. That's a lowb blow. Blue Jacket that's messed up man. That's messed up. That ain't right. That's I'm not I ain't gonna let you talk about my home school like that. You can't talk about my hometown like that. That's messed up. I I see what you're doing, Blue Jackie. And I don't like it. I don't like it. [laughter] All right. Uh, last game. Lane versus Alb State. Lane versus Alb State. They are coming to Alb State for home. And Al State did this right. They did it right. It's homecoming, so you pick Lane. It makes sense. Oh, it's homecoming at Central State, too. Central State Tusk. That's homecoming, too. Oh, wow. 300. Central State beat him last year. I mean, they did. They did. Hey, why not? This year, I think so. I believe so. But but back to this game. Um, you know, Al State, man, had to, you know, after that loss to after that loss to Kentucky State went went in regroup and what's a what's the best medicine ever to get back on track? Lane College. So, I think Aub should should roll in this one. But listen, Lane is getting some confidence as well, you know, with this last Miles game. And, you know, but if you can't score, you can't win. So, they got to get on track. Yeah. Uh, Lane ain't gonna get on track this game. Lane ain't gonna get on track. I think this is the one with ALB State, one of these games like here, Alb State gets to find out what their red shirt freshman can do in the game because they will be playing by the third quarter. They'll be playing by the third. Well, Jamie, that's the whole schedule. Jamie, sounds good, sir. Listen, listen. Hey, as always, man, it's always fun talking SIA ball, man.
