What is Plan Sea: A Dungeons & Dragons Actual Play Podcast?

Set sail with Plan Sea, a Dungeons & Dragons actual play podcast filled with chaotic choices, character drama, high-seas adventure, and tabletop storytelling.

[00:00] Hello and welcome to Tabletop Gaming [music] C Center's new Dungeons and
[00:04] Dragons pirate adventure plan C. My name is Chris Boyd. I will be your dungeon
[00:10] master on this journey joined by our wonderful pirate crew. Let's introduce
[00:14] them now. >> Hi, my name is Kyle Heim and I'm playing Pingis, also he. Uh, and just remember,
[00:25] we can't say that the sky is the limit because there's literally men on the
[00:28] moon. Hi everybody. I am Heather. She they pronouns. I will be playing Cathara
[00:36] false today. Also she they pronouns. If you decide you think I'm cool [music] or
[00:40] something, feel free to follow me at night either uh one of the socials. Um
[00:45] but if your cat, more importantly, if your cat is watching tonight, tell them
[00:48] I say [music] sorry. [laughter] Um, hi. I use she they pronouns. Um, I
[01:02] play Ribbon and she her pronouns. Um, and you can follow me [music] on social
[01:06] media, Tik Tok graves, or on Instagram. Um, and your fun fact, ocean fact of the
[01:14] week is Port Jackson sharks can >> [music] >> lay eggs in corkcrew so that they go
[01:18] into the coral and the rock and then they actually can walk on top of the
[01:23] coral. >> The more you know, >> the more you know. Uh, my name is
[01:28] Cameron. My pronouns are he, him. I am playing Uldren, also pronouns he, him.
[01:32] Um, and I've been playing in N since approximately 2019ish now, and I was kidnapped out of
[01:39] a lunch line home. I never went back. >> Excellent. So, once again, my name is
[01:45] Chris. My name is Chris. My pronouns are he, him. And we begin with the party on
[01:52] the Fromage, the pirate ship owned by Captain Wilwind F, who is currently gathering
[02:01] his crew [music] on the top deck as he senses some might be slightly
[02:07] discouraged by their recent failures, plan A and plan B. With everyone standing in front of him,
[02:17] some of us crew by side, he begins. I understand there may be some
[02:25] frustration recent adventures having less than ideal luck. Our last prize was in fact proved
[02:35] entirely by orphans and so we had to let them go, which was not.
[02:44] We're pirates, Captain. We take it from people as an orphan. I'm telling you,
[02:49] it's okay. [music] >> Sure. So, the person saying this who's uh clearly uh upset is uh he's 7 foot
[02:59] tall. Uh very, you know, kind of like you [music] would expect a lot of
[03:05] athletes to be. certainly not like a a physical contact type of player, but you
[03:10] know, uh he has a basketball. Uh he's wearing uh a purple shirt with uh athletic shorts
[03:20] that have a purple stripe on it. Um stone skin shoulder tattoos that look
[03:25] like fire. um shaped head with a like braided [ __ ] that goes down to about the
[03:32] the shoulders and the the ends of his hair kind of firing. Uh this is Tinky
[03:37] Tink. >> I understand Tinkus, but maybe the best compass for a pirate is a floral
[03:47] compass. >> Okay, I can tell you that is not true because the doesn't tell us where to go,
[03:52] first off, but it tells us what is right. No, it doesn't. >> I also recognize
[04:00] that our first excursion, our first treasure haul that we did discover and we did meet that
[04:09] other fruit of finding him maybe. >> Well, and can you please describe your
[04:16] character? >> Yeah, the very disgruntled um elf that you see, uh there's two things that you
[04:21] would notice about him. First, uh the first being his cloak, which is a slate
[04:27] blue, very faded, and it has fabric almost like rat ears sewn into the hood.
[04:32] And similarly, there's a fabric rodent tail trailing off the back of the cloak.
[04:37] Uh the second thing that you would notice is that he is old. Very, very
[04:41] old, even for an elf. Um you can see in his hair, um which is all gray. It's up
[04:47] in a flat bun. The shades are sides are shaved. Um and then also in his eyes
[04:53] which are rather like wrinkled on the inside. Speaking of his eyes, one of
[04:58] them um the right specifically is all milky from the scalera inwards to the
[05:06] iris [music] and the pupil. There's no distinction and it's marred by a large
[05:11] scraping scar that carves across most of that side of his face.
[05:16] That is Uldren. >> Thank you, Uldren. I I do want to emphasize that I I feel the pain and I
[05:24] and I recognize these these comments. Luckily, your captain has a plan A
[05:36] too much a good one at that. You all remember the treasure map that I had
[05:41] purchased from plan A? Well, luckily the old pirate I bought it from was actually
[05:48] having a two for one sale. So, while all the other pirate crews are
[05:55] following the direction of pirate queen and Captain Scarlet, we will have zero
[06:01] competition to follow this map to the treasure. >> I don't understand
[06:08] Scarlet. >> And can you please describe your hair? Um, so the [music] first thing you see
[06:14] is this blue gray skin and she has just a cacophony of blue different shades all
[06:21] over her. Pale white hair with um blue streaks in it. She's got trident ears
[06:27] covered in piercings. Um uh she on her neck she has um gills and she's very
[06:35] short though. She's about 5'4. She's s sitting next to Uldren as listening to
[06:40] the captain and she's really not paying attention until um she hears Captain
[06:47] [music] Scarlet's name. >> I understand as pirates we do break from time to time
[06:56] >> and we did set out in good intention to do what she said. Well, no, not completely. But you have
[07:06] to understand this plan will work >> because it is plan C. >> But like but like instead of the letter
[07:17] like S like like the water which we s the plan has to work >> has to be strong.
[07:29] >> Yes, we are strong together. Anyway, thank you all for listening.
[07:34] >> Uh, we shall set. >> Wonderful. Uh, Captain, >> what we have for our our heading from
[07:44] the map? >> Ah, yes. And you will take out the map. Uh, hand it to
[07:49] >> And as uh he hands it to her, you see about a 6 foot >> four
[07:56] catlike creature. um gray fur, elaborate large hat with a giant blue plume on it. Uh wearing, you
[08:09] know, standing above everybody next to the captain just behind. This is our
[08:13] quarter master. And she's wearing your traditional pirate outing, but a little more close
[08:21] tight fit black leathers. um cuz she has to do a little uh sneaky things at
[08:29] times. Um for now we will be looking at >> the map to see where we are going.
[08:36] >> Um are we looking at the X on the map? So >> I believe so.
[08:42] >> Wonderful. >> As is tradition. >> Looking at this map, does it look
[08:47] identical to the one we've looked at before or is it different?
[08:50] >> It is different. It is um she kind of like it goes. >> All right. It's not the same as the
[08:57] other one. So great. Um perfect. Uh um if you could uh assist here uh
[09:08] [clears throat] navigation. >> Here you go. Take the map. I sort of turned so that my left side
[09:18] is, you know, next to and she can see the map as well. >> Maybe you could assist me in
[09:28] reading it. And I don't know if this is port of us or starboard or um
[09:36] >> where's your chi? >> I have my chi sheet. And he pulls out a
[09:40] book and a small there's a small little pamphlet inside that he has inserted in
[09:46] there. It says the riven the p is left. So that would be where you are and
[09:53] then starboards right. But I don't know how we know what that is in relation to
[09:57] where we're looking >> where's your compass. Don't you need north? Is there a north on the map?
[10:02] >> Well, yes, but how do we know where we are in relation to north? You sent the
[10:08] sun. >> That's not the navigator. That's you. >> Yes. Absolutely.
[10:13] >> The sun. >> Okay. >> Magnetism of the earth. >> Right. >> So, it helps the compass move.
[10:22] >> Opens slowly. Opens [snorts] >> the compass. [laughter] >> Real props.
[10:33] >> All right. So if the and does the map show where this treasure is in relation
[10:39] to a larger land mass? >> Oh yeah. So the map is actually broken
[10:43] up into two sections where you have an overall ocean sea chart and then you
[10:51] have a another map in the corner of the island itself zoomed in. Okay. So you do
[11:00] you do have a map to charge. >> Can I attempt to get an idea which
[11:06] direction we need to be heading? >> Absolutely. >> Can do survival.
[11:14] >> First roll. [laughter] First roll. First roll. First roll. First roll.
[11:18] >> Roll. Correct. [laughter] >> Let's go. >> That's a 10. It's better than your
[11:27] navigator >> confidently. >> No, not >> uh disseminates the information
[11:39] >> that direction. >> Do you want to look over? I'm just going to go. Let me
[11:52] >> see. I don't think I even have anything for survival. I don't
[11:56] >> or proficiency with CP. >> I do. >> That I have. >> Nice. Nice.
[12:07] >> Starting off strong. >> That's a That's a hot five. I think I've
[12:13] now been um All right. Whatever you say.
[12:25] >> Okay. It can't be that hard. Please. >> Come on. It cannot be this hard.
[12:31] >> We're looking at survival >> after this is this is plenty.
[12:36] >> Yeah. It's got to land, right? >> Nice. Hot. >> Uh I mean,
[12:44] >> how confident is or 13 if we want vehicles, right? >> Yeah.
[12:50] Yeah. How confident they must take us next. All right, man. Let's get it going. I
[12:58] tell everybody to get their jobs and get the boat ready and tell them exactly
[13:02] where we're going, which is somewhere >> to the exit of the map.
[13:06] >> Yes. [laughter] >> Exit. >> And you get to uh come help navigate.
[13:18] [sighs] Wait, does that mean I get to go up top? >> If you wait, do you have the spy glass?
[13:26] >> Can I have the spy glass? [sighs and gasps] >> I hand him the spy glass and I whistle.
[13:33] That is not a whistle. [laughter] Successfully whistles. Um, and of course
[13:39] [laughter] a large um mountain lion um with gray and fur um who was napping um
[13:47] at the base of the mast um plots over follows >> to the wheel.
[13:53] >> To the wheel as what navigators do >> navigate. >> Yes. Do do your job and do it well.
[14:03] >> You got this. >> Right. Right. All right. Ready? Break. >> Go to your go.
[14:17] >> I have so much to do. >> We'll do more. >> We'll do more >> at some point. It's fine.
[14:25] >> All right. >> All right. >> Let's do it. Do it. Do it. >> Perfect. I think I'll follow up to um
[14:33] just to make sure you're settled >> on the leop. >> They are indeed.
[14:44] >> Yes, the crew is following your direction. >> The two of you are heading towards the
[14:50] wheel and Riven was climbing up to the prison. Excellent. With spy glasses
[14:55] here. >> She's not looking at the water though. She's using this bypass to look at the
[15:00] internet. >> Gotcha. Okay, good. Just [laughter] >> All right. I mean, you are able to do
[15:10] that. Um, [laughter] >> you're perfect. Uh and the ship is uh setting sail successfully on
[15:23] the course charted or at least begun to be charted by Tus Pingus.
[15:31] >> Someone's got to do it. >> We got it. [laughter] >> No, not yet.
[15:38] >> Uh ribbon in the process. At any point do you start looking away from the deck?
[15:47] [laughter] >> Hold on, let me see. [laughter] >> She gets she she gets bored because
[15:57] everyone's [laughter] doing their job. So she's like bored. So she starts
[16:01] looking for animals in the ocean. Just like not necessarily where they're
[16:05] going, just kind of like like going [snorts] around to see if she sees any
[16:08] animals. Um, can you make a perception for me, please? >> Let's go. [sighs]
[16:20] >> 10. [clears throat] >> I will check. What's going on?
[16:33] >> Actually, first, at any point in time or after any amount of time, would the crew
[16:42] be reconsing the map/course? >> No.
[16:53] [laughter] >> Listen. I've been told to stand here by Catharo.
[16:59] >> I don't know how this wheel works. So, I'm just trying to keep us going
[17:03] straight >> in the direction that I was told to go. >> So, also once we once you are there, you
[17:10] are you are holding steady. >> I'm just the entire time. >> Excellent.
[17:16] >> Excellent. about [laughter] >> as some hours drift by. You do at
[17:30] several points see in the distance a few other ships. >> None of them
[17:40] >> are at any point moving toward you. >> Okay. Most of them would be uh based on your
[17:48] last sighting between you and the coast. >> Okay. >> As you the ship is currently heading
[17:57] further out uh eastward. Yes. >> Okay. >> Are we going the right way?
[18:07] >> It's a great question. >> Great question. I guess I'm the one who
[18:14] Whoever would like to hear if that's [laughter] we will say this is just past midday.
[18:18] Okay, great. There is still several hours of sailing and I can use boat
[18:23] skills. >> Yes. All right, great. >> We all boat. >> Did you [laughter]
[18:40] know I >> [sighs]
[18:51] >> 16 >> as I'm watching >> our navigator on the the helm. He's not even white. He's kind of seeing
[19:02] and then checking against like where is the sun at in the sky to figure out, you
[19:08] know, are we going the correct the correct direction at this point, you
[19:12] know, where is it starting to head against east versus west? We already
[19:17] know kind of north and south. >> You are actually pleasantly surprised. You
[19:26] think a slight correction is necessary. In which direction? >> Uh, technically more
[19:33] as the So, the ship is currently heading mostly east. >> Um, I'm going to walk behind.
[19:43] >> Hey, >> you're doing great. Um, >> did you put your compass away?
[19:50] >> Um, I think he sort of just had it had had it like set out the whole time next
[19:55] to the wheel. >> Wonderful. Um, okay. She kind of looked and goes, "Um, looks like we're slightly
[20:00] veering off a little bit. We need to go a little bit more north. So, check it
[20:04] against your compass." And then slightly turn the wheel. Good.
[20:08] >> Perfect. >> Just hold it there. >> You're doing a great job.
[20:20] >> Thank you. >> Great. Let me go see what the captain's up to.
[20:25] [snorts] >> Wonderful. Are you going to go for the captain? >> Yes.
[20:30] >> Uh full search or do you like somewhere? >> I think first she's going to go to like
[20:37] his captain's quarters first. >> He is there. >> Wonderful. There's a nice knock knock
[20:41] knock. >> Yes. >> So, um we are currently heading towards our destination. Is there anything in
[20:50] particular that um I should be prepping for? uh planning for anything of that
[20:57] nature? >> Yes, we are going to go on the island >> and [clears throat] dig up a treasure.
[21:04] >> Great. Should I be packing sandwiches this time? >> Oo, excellent. Great. Should prepare and
[21:10] get the cook to create a little bit of some sandwiches. Um I assume tea as
[21:15] well. >> Of course. >> Wonderful. Uh anything else I should pack on the way?
[21:23] No, I don't think almost got shovels. We remember last time. >> Exactly. I made sure at least that one.
[21:33] Uh we'll bring a few more this time. Uh I'll make sure that everything is packed
[21:37] ready for once we arrive. Um and we set foot on the shore. >> Excellent.
[21:45] >> Obviously, if you need anything, you know how to find me. >> Out of curiosity. Yes, sir.
[21:52] How is the crew doing? >> Um, morale is >> okay. Um, trying not to be defeated by
[22:03] the fact that we did technically succeed um in our first mission. Um,
[22:09] unfortunately, you really have a soft spot for those things. Um, that kind of uh took a little bit of
[22:17] a blow. >> Yeah. The second one, we were very successful. Wasn't what we thought it
[22:24] was. Um, but hey, we have some new kitchens. >> Let's hope that this one in particular
[22:31] is a little less of a bus. Otherwise, we will actually have to start doing some
[22:36] true piracy. >> This is true piracy. >> Right. That's like a proportional
[22:42] piracy. True piracy is us, you know, basically doing like that throw thing
[22:46] and >> taking over other ships and taking their stuff. Yeah. But we didn't take their
[22:52] things. >> Well, we were opening an orphanage. >> Yes, sir. Opening an orphanage.
[22:58] [laughter] >> Taking things is upset. >> Screaming [laughter]
[23:08] angry right now. Yes. Yes. Hopefully next time we're going to end off. Um that will be down.
[23:18] At this point we'll just be calling ourselves. >> They are threats.
[23:25] >> They're a threat to our livelihood and they are a threat to our piracy.
[23:31] >> But I'm you're okay. >> Well, you're you're an I >> Yeah. >> Yeah. We like
[23:43] >> some orphans aren't part of just like there aren't, you know,
[23:47] >> it's really not at all. >> You know, we got into this last time and
[23:52] I tried to get you to understand that like >> at a certain point you're not an orphan
[23:57] anymore. >> You know, you're going to have a found family. I can't go and do it again. But
[24:05] >> cross that bridge when we arrived at that bridge again. could be
[24:13] bridges. Mars
[24:25] >> starts. >> How far do you think that we are?
[24:35] >> A few. We might make it before night time. It might take us another day.
[24:40] We'll see. >> Just making sure everyone's stay
[24:51] >> with that. I will be and then I'll go take care of other things.
[24:59] >> Oh my god. Either I'm going to die of anism or I'll be more on the island somewhere.
[25:08] Who knows? You know what? And she's [laughter] going to head down.
[25:21] Um, >> still crows nest. >> I still
[25:32] >> um I found a like pot of dolphins just kind of staring at >> Chris.
[25:45] [laughter] All right, let's see. I do believe I perception. >> I am.
[26:05] >> Ribbon is doing very
[26:15] pointing things out. >> Yes. Making notes and comments. You don't know quite exactly what They are
[26:21] just like pointing too. >> Y >> I just pointing at things that you want
[26:28] to keep. >> Good job. All right. [clears throat] >> Knight is beginning to fall.
[26:37] >> Um >> whether Riven does look for or just from deck, >> uh land is not visible.
[26:49] Okay. >> Uh, as darkness >> and the crew is getting ready to >> raise the sails drop off for the night.
[27:00] >> Well, before that we're not this time. >> We don't have a target to go after.
[27:08] >> I mean, we do. >> Oh, now we're being responsible. >> It was a good plan. We did succeed.
[27:16] Well, technically it was always a good plan until you know >> that wasn't my fault.
[27:22] >> Who's [laughter] at the hell? Please tell me tell me who was at the helm.
[27:26] >> Was it Was it? >> No. >> Was it I [laughter] certainly wasn't measured
[27:41] to be. We could [laughter] have had everything. It's the ocean's fault.
[27:45] >> No, I'm not fault. >> This time we don't know the ship that
[27:52] we're trying to go after. There are no other ships out there. We will be
[27:55] stopping how there's no there's also [laughter] unknown. >> I decide that I'm not drink
[28:08] [laughter] [laughter]
[28:20] >> Riven. Um um no other ships on the horizon that we know of.
[28:26] >> What ships on the sea? >> Well, there were some like a couple
[28:33] hours ago, but they were like heading towards the land that we came from. So,
[28:38] >> but no one else around us. Um, no. [singing]
[28:48] >> If you could look again, I would be much high. >> Okay. >> Uh, I will need you to make a perception
[28:58] check, please. The sun is setting, >> but it is still late enough.
[29:08] >> 14. We don't roll. >> Not yet. Not yet. >> Not yet. >> Uh 14 is good enough
[29:18] >> to see a boat. >> I see one. I see one. I saw it. I see it.
[29:23] >> You are unsure if it is a large boat very far away or a small boat kind of
[29:27] close. >> It's so large. >> It's really big. >> Mhm. Great. Uh do I need to worry about
[29:37] that? I don't know. What are the flags? >> Uh, you're trying to get
[29:46] >> Can you make it to actually get some details from this image now?
[29:54] >> 10. >> As it begins to get darker, you can no longer find it amongst the ocean.
[30:01] >> Uh, there was a ship. >> I can't see. IT'S TOO DARK. WAIT.
[30:11] >> You know, drop. >> Yes. >> Okay.
[30:22] >> Yes. Drop. >> For the night. >> Ribbon is now finally.
[30:35] >> Yeah. How is the crew feeling? >> How is the crew? >> How is the crew? That would probably
[30:48] most >> Oh, you're talking about I meant Sorry, I meant the uh the officer.
[30:57] >> Yes, the name on the jobs. We just I'm gonna walk over to Riven's
[31:09] looking down on >> I'm gonna just lean against the nearest crate or something. Whatever. Um and
[31:15] then um the mountain lion lies at my feet. >> See anything interesting?
[31:21] >> Well, there was a pot of dolphins. I saw some whales. I think they were beluga
[31:26] whales. I'm not quite sure. Um there wasn't a lot of action in the ocean
[31:30] today. Yeah, I wish so I could see more of my friends. >> You
[31:35] >> Oh, you mean [ __ ] I saw one. >> No, I actually don't really care about
[31:39] those. Um I more than the animals. >> Oh, um yeah, there was blue. There was a
[31:47] bunch of there was any suggestions. >> Do you name all of them?
[31:57] >> Well, some of them have their own names. I just couldn't ask them. They weren't
[32:01] too far away. >> How do you ask them? >> The same way that I talk to you right
[32:07] now. >> You talk to them. You say, "Hi, what's your name?" >> That is how I ask. And he looks down at
[32:14] the mountain. I just
[32:28] >> um she sort of slits her eyes at you. >> You're going to love me one day.
[32:36] >> She takes time. >> Are you going to love me one day?
[32:47] You take time. I know. I know. >> Are we really doing this whole
[32:53] >> find the second treasure map and not listen to Queen Scarlet?
[32:57] >> Should just be a little more. >> No. Who wants to go on this stupid thing
[33:02] anyways? >> Okay. You're not wrong. That doesn't mean we say the right word out out all
[33:13] the time. Why not? >> Because he is our captain and he pays our wages and we still don't know where
[33:20] he gets his money from. >> Which means we can't slowly walking that dark shadow. There
[33:33] it goes. That's called mutiny. [clears throat] >> That's the word. I said that the other
[33:39] day. You guys all gave me weird looks. >> Yes. Because we can't
[33:43] >> again. We can't do it yet. >> Yet >> cuz he has money >> and we don't know where.
[33:50] >> No. No. It's more so that he has money that we don't know where it is.
[33:53] >> Oh, I know exactly where it is. >> Oh, then why haven't I done it?
[33:57] >> I control the coin purse. Who does all the shopping? >> Yeah. Yeah, I understand that. But that
[34:03] doesn't mean we know where it is located currently. And it's certainly not all of
[34:07] it. We know that. >> He has to have I thought, yeah, >> question for the for the GM. Uh, I
[34:16] assume banks aren't a thing. >> Does he have all his savings? Can Can
[34:21] she think back to go does he have everything on the ship? >> Uh, banks are a thing for very wealthy
[34:28] people. >> I mean, we >> and uh you get more small to moderate uh
[34:36] coin purses. usually enough for what is budgeted and maybe up to 50% extra.
[34:44] >> Okay. So, basically he has everything here for the [music] most part or at
[34:50] least a certain amount here. >> Correct. >> Got it. Cool. Cool. Cool. Cool.
[34:56] She has He has a certain amount here. Obviously, through our piracy efforts, uh, we will
[35:03] be hoping to refill and replenish those hopefully. >> Oh, we're putting in effort for piracy.
[35:10] >> Oh, it's not what? Like, it's hard. >> Well, I mean, you just could have fooled
[35:14] me. >> Tingus, that's not very nice. And we're supposed to be nice, apparently.
[35:22] >> We have to No, we don't have to be nice. We just have to like pick and choose the
[35:29] battles. >> Exactly. >> Are you legitimately considering if this
[35:34] fails? >> If this one fails this time. >> Oh, yeah. >> We There is going to be no plan D.
[35:45] >> Yeah, cuz that's not even a pun. >> I mean, it could be. >> Tangus tries real hard not to say
[35:50] something right now. cuz I'm like, >> "Yep, I would prefer not to get to uh to
[35:59] that letter >> um lest we all um make lot more jokes." >> So, we are following this map
[36:10] >> for this time. Yes. >> And if it works out, >> then we're good for now.
[36:15] >> For now. >> We're good for now. >> It's basically like the captain's got
[36:18] one more strike. >> Remember, three strikes, you're out. >> Yeah.
[36:23] Right. That's what you used to say. >> Exactly. >> Three strikes.
[36:26] >> Three strikes. >> Okay. I guess >> three strikes. >> Yeah.
[36:31] >> So, >> we're currently stopped for the night. I think it is best that uh we set up
[36:39] watch. We get some food. We stop tomorrow bright and early. >> What What's bright and early?
[36:47] >> Typically when the sun rises. >> Sun rises. [snorts] M. Okay, it's fine. You can sleep in.
[36:55] >> You're the surgeon. We don't have a You don't have a job right now.
[36:59] >> No one's dying. >> Yeah. >> So, you can sleep in. >> Promise.
[37:03] >> Well, yes. As long as no one's dying >> yet. You hear screaming, then you wake
[37:09] up. >> Ribbon go just walks away. >> Oh god. She's going to stab another one.
[37:14] >> Oh boy. Well, I mean, it was bound to happen eventually. I'm going to eat something.
[37:23] Just going to go down. >> I'll be there in a bit. I'm going to
[37:27] Tingus starts doing his usual workout. >> Oh, right. >> On the deck.
[37:34] >> Anything from Uldren before turning in. >> Um he'll just sit down at the base of the
[37:43] mass with um Zaja and curl up there. He's not going to go under the under
[37:48] deck. All righty. Uh, the crew can [clears throat] assist with any watching, but ultimately the
[37:57] night is incredibly uneventful. >> Thank goodness. >> Uh, so Riven is sleeping in question mark.
[38:10] >> Mhm. >> Okay. >> No one's died. She's like on a hammock like both limbs are over the edge and
[38:16] fully drooling all over herself. >> That's exactly what I imagined even
[38:22] without you saying >> good. [laughter] So what got it? >> Plan D might be okay.
[38:30] >> I mean, yeah, maybe. And D stands for death. >> Absolutely.
[38:36] >> What is everyone else up to >> as the sun rises? Oh, I I do my usual
[38:42] pep talk to the crew, you know, tell them that uh you know, we're only as
[38:48] good as our weakest member. I look around like, yeah, we are all dogs here.
[38:53] We ain't no puppies. Get it. I give them their assignments and get the ship
[38:57] moving again. >> Moving as in you are setting sail. >> Yeah. >> I think before that. So before we weigh
[39:09] anchor. Yeah. Hey, >> very like at the crack of dawn. >> Um Uldren went up in the crow's nest and
[39:17] looked around. >> Oh. >> Um both like on the horizon for ships
[39:21] and also he's specifically looking at seabirds and if there's anything nearby.
[39:25] >> Okay. Excellent. Go ahead and make me a >> The spy glass is not up there.
[39:30] >> Right. I'm using [laughter] my >> your own eyes. >> One eye.
[39:34] >> Yeah. >> It's kind of like a spy glass. Yeah. [laughter] Right. That's a That's why
[39:38] they're so good at the spy glass. >> Um, that's a >> Hold on. That is a natural 19 for a
[39:46] total of >> 24. [laughter] I rolled correctly. >> Double digits.
[39:53] >> I double >> You do not see any birds at this point. >> Okay.
[40:00] >> Not anywhere close. um maybe far in the distance, but it could also
[40:09] be a trick of light on the horizon. Too hard to tell. You do, however, see
[40:17] something a little surprising. You see a small rowboat out this far.
[40:27] >> A rowboat? >> Yes. >> How far from us? Uh, in the hundreds of feet close.
[40:36] >> I can't see what if there's a person in it. >> There is something in it.
[40:40] >> Kathara. Kathara. >> She is currently probably more than likely in the captain's quarter serving
[40:49] him his morning breakfast and giving him his morning tea. >> I'm hollering like I'm not being quiet.
[40:57] >> Do you hear something? That's fine. >> I You'll be fine. She starts
[41:06] >> agreed. >> She slides out the door. >> You collide with Saja, who he sent to
[41:10] get you. >> Oh, [laughter] he kisses right back at you. [snorts]
[41:18] >> Believe we have a problem. [clears throat] >> Uh problem. It's so early.
[41:23] >> There's a rowboat. >> A rowboat? >> Yes. >> Oh god. And I I'm going to point in the
[41:29] direction. >> He's gonna walk to the edge of the ship um and look over to where this rowboat
[41:35] is coming towards us. >> Um coming towards you might be a bit of an
[41:43] exaggeration. Um it seems to more so be kind of floating aimlessly.
[41:54] Who's got the spy glass? Did you get it back from Riven? >> Nope.
[42:00] >> Riven's probably still asleep. >> I'm going to scream. Riven. [laughter]
[42:06] >> That blow deck. >> Saw. >> But I told I specifically told her
[42:10] though that she had to wake up if she heard screaming. >> You did say that.
[42:15] >> But does she hear >> Do you hear it? >> We in that room. >> Yes.
[42:23] Oh, you guys. Sunny goes to sleep. >> Riven like trudges. Like literally like
[42:32] stomping like a little child that like doesn't want to go somewhere. What?
[42:37] >> Robo spy glass. >> I don't have the spy glass. >> Yes, you do.
[42:40] >> No, I don't. >> Who has the spy glass? >> It's up in the crow's nest.
[42:44] >> Is it legitimately at my feet? >> No. >> No, [laughter] Riven. The spy glass is not in the
[42:53] crow's nest. >> I swear I get. Are you sure? >> Riven, there is a rowboat. This is not
[43:02] the time for games. >> She's going to try to stealthly and it's
[43:06] not probably not going to work. Hook it onto your belt. >> I'm up in the crow's nest. I'm yelling
[43:11] at you. >> Oh, that's right. That's right. [laughter] She's going to subtly behind
[43:15] I'm going to come up behind you and pick it up. You're like, "Thanks for the
[43:19] Thanks for the spine glass ribbon. I don't know what you're talking about.
[43:24] >> Oh, it's fine. >> Mhm. >> Uh Uldren, uh here. How How do you want
[43:30] me to get this to you? >> I'm going to Please. Dang it. Don't
[43:34] throw. >> I'm not I'm not going to throw it. >> I'm going to sort of like try to jump
[43:38] down the freaking >> It's not shaped like a ball. I can't throw it anyways.
[43:43] >> Uh >> shaped like a bat. Hit a ball with it. >> Uh that's great.
[43:48] If you are trying to be graceful, we can roll for how graceful this is.
[43:53] >> 18 plus stuff. >> Uh, acrobatics. So, yes. >> Uh, that is a 23.
[44:00] >> You look cool while doing it. [laughter] >> I slide. >> Riven is just watching like this.
[44:07] >> I grab it from you and then climb. >> Actually, I'm actually I'm not even
[44:11] going to bother climbing up cuz I know what side it's on. Um, I'm just going to
[44:15] look. Do I see a person in this rowboat? >> Yes. Yes, you see a person in the robo.
[44:23] You also now identify the fact that there are no ores. >> No,
[44:32] >> dude. >> They are um they are barefoot. They have a cut shirt
[44:43] that based on pattern you assume they have turned in a headscarf of some sort.
[44:53] >> Okay. Um >> Ruby's going to come up you >> like it looks like they're injured.
[44:58] >> What is it? >> And they're like tourniqueting >> or a hat.
[45:03] >> Yeah, >> I say it's a hat. >> Oh. Oh, okay. You see, there's no shade
[45:07] out on the ocean because there's no trees. >> Okay. Okay. Um, that's why I wear hats.
[45:13] >> There's no there's no oes. >> Yeah. Nothing. No or I'm saying that,
[45:18] too. >> So, either they tried to sneak out and didn't plan properly or they were sent
[45:25] out because they did something terrible on whatever ship they were on
[45:28] >> or there was a ship like wreck. >> I think we would see more things out on
[45:32] the water if it was a ship wreck. Regardless, we're not just going the
[45:35] shipwreck. >> Leave. We're not going to leave them. >> No. Why are we going to take them up?
[45:41] >> We should at least see what information they have. >> Yeah. What if they need help?
[45:45] >> Thor's going to yell out. >> I should have thought about that before.
[45:48] >> Hello. >> Yes. >> You don't have to yell. I'm right here. >> Um,
[45:57] is Uldren still looking through the spy glass? >> Yes. Uh, you see the body begin to stir
[46:06] a [music] little bit. >> Body begins to stir. I don't know if
[46:12] that's good or bad. >> Yeah, I don't like that you said body.
[46:15] The body stirs. >> What are they stirring? >> Body, not [laughter]
[46:20] >> their morning tea. >> Oh, yes. It is teto. >> It is teto. You're right.
[46:28] If the yelling continues, uh they will uh >> yeah, she's like, "Hello,
[46:35] >> sit up and look around >> and see the ship >> and throw their arms up."
[46:42] >> So, they do need help. Uh do we have one of those live rounds?
[46:45] >> They could be partying [snorts] >> this early. >> They are waving their arms
[46:51] >> like they just don't care. >> Like they just don't care. Yeah,
[46:53] >> I think they want us to help them. >> Yes. Um, could we get um some rope, a
[46:59] buoy of some sort? Life life raft thing goes to get that. >> You're the quarter master. You
[47:05] >> if they're injured, they may need your help. >> She's saying just go get it.
[47:09] >> Why my help? Oh, that's right. I'm the surgeon. >> Yeah, you them over.
[47:15] >> So, when we get there? >> Um, I don't think I should throw this.
[47:21] >> Throw what? The buoy and rope thatqatara told me to grab. >> Oh,
[47:26] >> you like sports and just throw it at you. >> Oh, no. I don't.
[47:30] >> You like throwing things. >> Come on. Throw it. Throw it. Throw it.
[47:35] >> Oh, Tus is a sucker for peer pressure. Uh, [laughter] good. All right, Chris.
[47:40] This is This is what strength. >> Uh, yeah. I'm good. >> Athletics, maybe?
[47:46] >> Athletics? Yeah. Oh, it's the same. >> Still the same. >> Oh my god.
[47:52] 10. >> Do you have a negative or have a negative one? [snorts]
[47:58] >> I play basketball. I th >> uh I mean yes, you throw it. Um they are
[48:06] quite far though. >> Yeah, I figured. >> All right, cool. I'll I'll reel it back
[48:10] in. >> Not too far. >> Should we move the ship? I'm already walking to the right wheel.
[48:21] >> I mean, I did tell the the crew to weigh anchor and whatnot and get us moving
[48:25] again. So, >> yeah. >> Yeah. >> So, now we're actually kicking it into
[48:30] gear. >> Yeah. >> Um I was going to just kind of go just uh hang out. We're coming to get you.
[48:40] >> Um >> and maybe help you or kill you. Oh, I wonder if Tangus hears that.
[48:48] Nope. [laughter] >> Uh, you It It kind of looks like they're trying to yell back, but
[48:58] >> can't can't hear. Yeah. Yeah, you can't quite hear that. >> Cool. Cool. Got it. Awesome. Love it.
[49:05] >> Yeah. So, we start heading towards them. >> Okay. >> Yeah. We're gonna
[49:08] >> Yeah. Eventually, they will become a much uh shorter distance
[49:14] away. Are you trying to limit the ship's speed? >> Yeah. >> Oh, yeah. So, yeah, we don't run them up
[49:22] a couple a couple of knots. Um, nothing too crazy enough to at least give us a
[49:26] little bit of movement towards um >> Yeah, we get there in like a reasonable
[49:30] amount of time, but not so fast that like the wake is going to push the boat
[49:33] over or anything like that. So, >> excellent over. Yeah. Excellent. Now,
[49:37] how uh as they get closer, what are you trying to do? >> Hopefully, before we throw out over the
[49:45] life raft, hopefully we can hear them at this point. She goes, "Why are you on a boat
[49:53] >> alone?" >> Alone with no ores. Uh they're mouththing, but you don't quite
[50:05] hear them. Are they probably anymore? >> Can I see if they're like look injured
[50:08] now that we're closer? >> Injured would not be the right descriptor. Yeah, they don't seem overly
[50:20] like they've been out heat exhaustion. They they've been out there for at least
[50:23] sunburn. >> Um, if anything, they might actually look better than you would expect.
[50:28] >> Okay. >> Okay. So, it's probably recent. >> Doesn't look like they've been there out
[50:33] that long. only. It's like little pink. >> Is that Is that the technical thing?
[50:40] >> She's going to throw out >> pink. >> She's going to Cathara's going to throw
[50:44] out the life the life raft buoy thing. >> Uh they will >> What do you hold on? Yeah.
[50:54] >> Yes. Okay. >> Right [laughter] there. They're They're very close.
[50:58] >> Hey, you know, I could suck. You know, I could absolutely miss them.
[51:02] >> Yeah. Throw it. Throw it. do it. >> Well, that's a crit for a 21. So, I
[51:06] actually loop it around him. I go [laughter] >> knight not pre-tied in the air.
[51:13] >> Lasso, but I see my [snorts] training is paying off. >> Someone's got a someone's got a crit at
[51:19] some point. >> You should [laughter] do that. >> And you and the crew can haul this
[51:26] individual up the side of the boat and onto the deck. Um, and they will kind of
[51:31] like be land crawl like forward a bit and and an exasperated like, "Thank you.
[51:40] >> Thank you. >> Somebody get this man some water." >> Um, Sergeant Riven water.
[51:45] >> But I thought we weren't sure if we like him yet. >> He needs to be able to talk.
[51:49] >> Okay. Sorry. Here you go. >> Drink. But don't drink it fast cuz
[51:54] you'll vomit. >> Oh, they have started chugging, but they will slow.
[52:00] >> [sighs and gasps] >> Well, why are you out here? >> Thank you.
[52:08] >> I didn't breathe. >> I was being um punished. >> I knew it.
[52:16] >> For what >> did you do? >> Um, excellent question and I am so glad you've asked.
[52:28] Where's the answer? >> I was hoping that me complimenting your
[52:32] question would make you forget it. >> No, I don't forget easily.
[52:35] >> That's down so that I'm at his level >> and so that my wild cat is also right in
[52:41] his face. [sighs] >> See, stop dribbling. What did you do? >> Essentially,
[52:51] I talked back a bit too much. >> To whom? >> Uh, the captain.
[53:00] >> Who is >> uh uh Captain Scarlet? >> Okay, you got to go. You got to go.
[53:07] [laughter] YOU GOT TO GO. >> Immediately takes her dagger and puts it
[53:14] to HIS WA! RIVEN! RIVEN! >> WA! >> RIVEN! >> It's against the rules.
[53:21] >> Whoa, whoa. [laughter] We're not the man. >> I didn't say that.
[53:24] >> On one thought, Dagger would almost be kinder than sending me back out at sea,
[53:28] >> but I would much prefer to live. >> Let's Let's see. Exactly. We mouth off.
[53:35] >> What exactly did you say? >> It's not Captain Scarlet. >> I understand that things are a little
[53:40] bit different. That's just >> I was just wait >> questioning some things
[53:45] >> like >> uh [snorts] certain plans. >> Wait, what kind of plans?
[53:53] >> The the plans that she sent out to everybody to find that one ship that
[54:01] had all the stuff. >> Ah, right, right, right, right. Gears are turning slowly. He tries to take
[54:08] another drink of water. I'm inside check. >> I'm inside checking this water.
[54:15] >> A filthy 20. >> I I don't know what's going on. >> A filthy 20. I'm looking cat eyes have
[54:20] now have now really laser focused in. >> Um we're going to we're going to rule
[54:25] that check on the next thing that that this this pirate says. Um
[54:30] >> yeah, she's like Mhm. >> I will happily trade information for my
[54:36] life. You can trade information for that water that we already gave you.
[54:40] >> Yeah, >> I already did. >> You didn't, though. >> So, should I?
[54:46] >> I think you regret it. >> I think you'll regret not telling us
[54:50] more. >> Can I roll an intimidation check on that one? I >> was going to say, I'd kindly remind you
[54:55] that my friend >> He will say, uh, just moments ago, I was already
[55:01] practically pet. I essentially have a death sentence. Threatening with more death is not
[55:08] >> this time in front of you though, >> right? So I would like to seize it and I
[55:13] can trade information >> for your life. >> Yes. >> Hold on. That's fine. Um, but your
[55:21] insights check does lead you to believe that he is he is being genuine with
[55:27] this. Like he is he is realizing that he might actually have a path to
[55:34] potentially live and he is leaping at it. >> Reven, please do not slit his throat.
[55:40] Let me go grab the captain. >> Do we want to grab him? >> Is >> that's a great question. I don't really
[55:49] want to, but protocols. >> Why don't we just get the information
[55:57] and then just kill >> then we can present it to the captain? >> Don't say Riven, what what did we talk
[56:05] about saying >> he didn't hear me? >> I did a little bit. >> You're right next to him.
[56:11] >> Yeah, Riven still has a knife in his [laughter] right next to him.
[56:16] >> Let me just [sighs] We'll work on it. We'll work on it. >> You're lying for information.
[56:22] >> Mhm. >> This better be good information. >> Very. >> Or else I will absolutely
[56:29] let her slit your throat. >> Please don't. >> Then you'll live. We'll give you some
[56:35] more water, place to stay, a little bit of some quarters, and you'll start
[56:39] talking or you'll start walking a plank. Right. Deal. >> Wonderful.
[56:49] So start talking. >> Ah uh yes. So um the first time I spoke up
[57:02] uh was admittedly perhaps the silliest. Uh I thought that a certain charade that
[57:12] the captain was performing was unnecessary. Like a game of charade or like a Persona
[57:20] charade? >> Uh, no. We don't do games anymore. >> Uhhuh. >> Is it because you spoke up about the one
[57:28] charade? >> Uh, no. Uh, folly is unnecessary. >> I mean, that's fair.
[57:39] >> Piracy is a serious business as it is. >> Serious about charade. Right. Right.
[57:45] Yes. Yes. >> Um, >> so Captain Scarlet was planning on sending every crew available to hunt
[57:56] down this merchant ship. >> Uh-huh. >> Uh, you know that, >> right? Oh, yes. Oh, yeah. We were part
[58:02] of that. Excellent. So you already know um this was a facade uh so that no crews would follow her.
[58:16] They would all be preoccupied not where she wanted to go. >> And where is it that she wanted to go?
[58:24] >> Um and he kind of actually points >> in the direction we're going.
[58:28] >> In the direction you're going. >> There's an island >> out that way. Uh-huh.
[58:33] >> Yeah, there sure is. >> They're heading towards >> Really?
[58:39] >> What's on this island? Is it >> Tinkus? This is going to be really,
[58:43] really great for us. Think about it. >> We didn't get the ship even though we
[58:48] technically did. Everyone else is going that way. And >> but maybe we're on to something.
[58:56] Yeah, we just have, you know, one of the biggest challenges ahead of us in
[59:00] dealing with >> maybe maybe >> highly likely >> maybe >> highly likely signs point to.
[59:08] >> Yes. >> So So she she's heading to this island, I assume, for a treasure.
[59:16] >> Uh she Well, yes. >> Yes. >> Mhm. A very uh specific treasure.
[59:26] >> Aha. Okay. Do you know what that treasure is or are you too low on the totem bowl for
[59:31] that? >> That information. I'll need a little bit more security.
[59:39] >> Fine. Riven, take the dagger away from his neck. >> No. >> Just do it.
[59:46] >> I don't want to. >> Okay. Please, >> please. >> If if you do do this, we might go see
[59:51] Captain Scarlet. >> Remember, we're going the same direction.
[59:54] >> The more information that we get from him, the more prepared we'll be.
[59:59] >> She's only taking it down because of Uldren. What Uldren says. So, she like
[01:00:02] goes she like skeptically is looking at the both of you and just stands closer
[01:00:06] to Uldren. >> Okay, >> fair. >> Okay, >> so really uh she's essentially already
[01:00:15] there. Uh, I was removed uh while they were prepping to anchor
[01:00:25] close to shore. >> How long ago was that? >> This was yesterday.
[01:00:30] >> Okay. >> That does make sense. >> Yeah. Okay. [snorts] >> So, that's probably that ship that Riven
[01:00:36] saw yesterday. >> Probably. >> Damn it. >> Captain like this.
[01:00:44] >> Yeah. You know what? I think you have this covered. I'm gonna go talk to the
[01:00:47] captain. >> Yeah, why don't you do that? >> And Qatara is going to turn around and
[01:00:51] start heading to captain's quarters >> while they handle. >> Do you have a name?
[01:00:59] >> I'm sorry. Can you say that again? >> Uh, [laughter] do you have a name?
[01:01:09] >> That's a great question. >> That's a great question. I'm so glad you
[01:01:12] asked. That's a really interesting [laughter] name. That's a great
[01:01:15] question. >> I've never heard somebody name. That's a great question. I'm glad you asked.
[01:01:21] >> But you know what? [laughter] >> Funny that you ask, >> Jim.
[01:01:29] >> His name is Bingus Bongus. [laughter] >> WOW. >> IMAGINE. >> IMAGINE.
[01:01:35] >> What are the odds? >> Name Jim. >> Yeah, let's go with that.
[01:01:39] >> All right, Jim. Well, uh, thanks for the information. You've been great. Uh,
[01:01:45] we'll let you rest up a little bit and we won't kill him. Right. Right, Riven.
[01:01:50] >> I'm not making any promises. >> I have more information if you don't
[01:01:53] kill me >> yet. >> Thank you. >> All right, we've got that settled. So,
[01:02:01] Jim, what else you got for us? So, this was yesterday that they sent you a
[01:02:06] drift. >> Yes. >> Okay. Why? >> Well, >> yes, you started explaining it, but you
[01:02:15] didn't get to the full reason. >> Well, so yes, the first time I spoke
[01:02:20] back was about I didn't think the facade was necessary. How often do people
[01:02:27] really follow Captain Scarlet out to sea all the time? And she did not appreciate that as there
[01:02:35] are many people trying to kill her. take you know >> oh that's what happened the pirate crown
[01:02:44] if >> as it were yes >> so that is a thing I understand uh
[01:02:55] furthermore I do not feel like I was properly compensated for doing a little extra work and I
[01:03:07] brought that up and that was not appreciated. >> What? Just out of curiosity, what was
[01:03:12] the extra work? >> I kidnapped someone. >> So that she could question them about
[01:03:20] the treasure that's on the island. >> Neat. Cool. Um, did you happen to get any of that
[01:03:30] information? >> Uh, no. But I do know they were a clerical scholar.
[01:03:41] Does that mean anything to Stingus? >> Uh yeah, you went to school.
[01:03:45] >> That's true. I did definitely paid attention to class to get degrees.
[01:03:50] [laughter] >> Just right. Good. Okay. Do you know with whom they were associated?
[01:04:00] uh >> like a big bigger organization or or group that is guarding said treasure or
[01:04:05] has information about said treasure. >> Uh no, they I I took them from their
[01:04:10] house. >> They got a lot of books. >> Books are for nerds. Um okay,
[01:04:22] great. Well, uh, Uldren, do you have any more questions for Jim?
[01:04:33] [sighs] >> Not at the moment. No. >> Great. I would like to pick your brain
[01:04:39] for a second. Jim, you stay right foot. If you >> If you don't, she'll make you stay right
[01:04:44] put. >> Could I sit anywhere and not the sun? >> No. >> You'll stay right there.
[01:04:50] >> I follow Tingis away. All right. [clears throat] So, uh, big predicament. It's
[01:04:58] >> very >> I don't know what we should really do about Jim cuz he's kind of given us everything
[01:05:06] that we need to know. >> I think our bigger predicament is that
[01:05:11] we can't go to the island. >> Oh, can't or won't. >> Can't. >> Oh, that's not true. We totally could.
[01:05:18] >> We do. Then we end up dealing with the pirate queen and we all get
[01:05:24] >> Well, to be fair, we especially the four of us have a really good way out of
[01:05:31] that. >> We which is >> Oh, we we mutiny and turn over the captain
[01:05:39] >> to >> Scarlet. What would she want with him? >> Oh, she can execute him and let us go
[01:05:45] because we all we're dissenting voices. She [snorts] may also not have the map that we do.
[01:05:52] >> Correct. >> Which would be a valuable. >> Correct. >> Still, the man hasn't done anything that
[01:05:59] did that warrants execution. >> Oh, certainly not. We could just send
[01:06:03] him back, which might as well be execution. But I mean, hey, I didn't do it.
[01:06:10] >> [sighs and gasps] >> Listen, as frustrated as I am with this
[01:06:14] job, he hasn't done anything that warrants certain death. >> Fair enough. I think we'll continue this
[01:06:22] conversation for a little bit and figure that out. >> Yes, we will jump
[01:06:26] to the captain who is actually in the process of leaving his quarters, but
[01:06:30] he's just getting out the door as you >> ah captain. >> Yes. Um so um little bit of some morning
[01:06:38] kurfles. Uh end up finding um a sailor marooned on a boat just drifting apart
[01:06:46] the sea. Ended up bringing him in. Apparently he was a part of Captain
[01:06:51] Captain Queen Scarlet's uh crew. >> Oh, interesting. >> Yes. Um,
[01:06:57] >> why was >> because they sent him off because he was a little bit of a dissenting voice.
[01:07:05] >> He has some good information. >> Excellent. >> Apparently that whole trying to steal
[01:07:11] things from uh that merchant ship, you know, the orphans, the ones we found,
[01:07:15] >> was a ruse. >> Oh, she instead uh seems to be going to the
[01:07:21] same place we are. >> How clever. So, I don't know if she has the same
[01:07:28] exact map we do. [sighs] Um, but uh now we have to kind of deal with the fact
[01:07:35] that we have this guy and potentially going to the same place
[01:07:40] where the pirate queen is. [gasps] And potentially, I don't know, we if we
[01:07:49] cross paths, she could be angry. I have a good plan, an idea to
[01:07:54] potentially get us out of that if should such an occurrence happen. [gasps] Uh
[01:07:59] >> I am quite the charmer. >> Yes, absolutely, sir. Um >> and a little competition never hurt
[01:08:05] anyone >> with the pirate queen. >> It'll be like a fun game.
[01:08:14] >> Ah, yes. With the pirate queen. Such a fun game. >> Mhm. >> Love gambling my life away. Um, anyways,
[01:08:22] uh, if you would like to come meet our guest, I'm hoping Riven has not slit his
[01:08:27] throat. >> Why? >> That >> she's very loyal. >> Did he say something offensive?
[01:08:33] >> She's very loyal to the pirate queen. >> Really looks up to her.
[01:08:37] >> The captain. >> I know. >> Hopefully, you can charm Riven.
[01:08:43] [sighs] >> That's true. I haven't I should put in more effort.
[01:08:47] >> Probably. She really looks up to the pirate queen to the point that
[01:08:52] >> it's endearing but also concerning. >> Understood. >> Well, off we go.
[01:08:59] >> Yes. And she'll let him pass um and she'll just kind of arms behind the
[01:09:03] back. Just follow right behind >> uh >> to where this guy is. [clears throat]
[01:09:08] >> Right. So, you'll jump to where Jim is. How far away? You see?
[01:09:12] >> So, he was probably close to the bow when we pulled him in. Yeah.
[01:09:16] >> Uh yes. Yeah. >> Yeah. So, we probably walked closer to the stern, probably past like the main
[01:09:23] mast. So, that way we're kind of out of earshot of everybody.
[01:09:25] >> Okay. You would see the captain emerging from below deck and heading with
[01:09:31] >> look at [snorts] like, oh boy. All right. >> Just Yeah. And then we fall in behind.
[01:09:37] >> He just takes a long just breath and follows. >> Yeah. I get next to Cathar and I just
[01:09:45] side aisle of it just We'll see what happens. >> I walk next to Riven and have her on my
[01:09:51] left my left side. >> Well, Riven is still over with Jim. >> Yeah, I'm going to walk over to where
[01:09:57] Riven [laughter] is. >> Wait, have you put a knife back to this
[01:10:00] man's? >> Oh, of course I have. >> Maybe could we please lower the knife while
[01:10:06] we're waiting for while the captain is talking to the man? >> Okay.
[01:10:15] >> Thank you. Ah, you must be Jim. So, I hear you come from Captain
[01:10:25] Scarlet's crew. Quite impressive, and we appreciate the insight that you were
[01:10:30] able to share. You looking for work? >> Uh, I mean, I'll put him to work, Captain,
[01:10:41] if you hire him. Uh Jim is uh very surprised at this sudden turn.
[01:10:48] Uh I I mean I would happily uh I was mostly trying to just trade information
[01:10:53] to not be immediately uh killed. >> Well, if you're on this ship, you're
[01:10:57] going to work. No, nobody slacks off. >> I wouldn't dream of it.
[01:11:01] >> Good. >> We can't hire him. >> If we hire him, we're going against
[01:11:05] Queen Scarlet, and then she's going to come after us, and I don't want to be a
[01:11:08] part of that. >> Well, we'll see what happens. M >> so it could be a slight
[01:11:18] >> to be fair captain we're treading a dangerous waters here >> in the first place knowing that Captain
[01:11:26] Scarlet wanted to go after this treasure alone. >> Assuming we're going after the same
[01:11:31] thing. >> Assuming we're going after the same thing. Oh, Jim.
[01:11:34] >> Yes. >> Did you happen to see any sort of treasure map that Captain Scarlet may
[01:11:38] have had for this island? Uh, no. Well, yes, but not in any detail. Trying to be
[01:11:47] honest. Trying to >> Yes. >> Not in any detail that I could reconvey.
[01:11:53] >> Right. So, you couldn't like look at our map and know if it's the same map type
[01:11:58] of deal. Hm. Um,
[01:12:08] >> well, Chris, Jim doesn't have keen mind. >> Jim is [laughter] going to be making uh
[01:12:14] an insight check into whether or not he believes he could get away if if lying
[01:12:22] would actually increase his odds of living or not. >> Oh, that's a that's a great question.
[01:12:29] Like if there is a particular answer he could get away with that would increase
[01:12:33] his odds. >> Oh, [sighs] I mean he'd have to deceive me first.
[01:12:42] >> Uh so yes, this is I'm going to say so I did I did roll. He rolled very very well
[01:12:46] on this. This is not a deception check. This is just to try and gauge the the
[01:12:52] situation from the officers as to >> if this would even be worth attempting
[01:13:00] to lie about or would be would telling the truth even if it was less helpful
[01:13:09] be the right way to try and stay alive like what's going to be
[01:13:12] >> I think we pretty readily established that we will kill him
[01:13:16] >> if given reason. Okay. Exhibit A. >> So if he were to fail, it's a deception.
[01:13:24] >> Yeah. >> Unless he thinks that he's really really [laughter]
[01:13:28] >> unless unless Jim has expertise in deception. I don't know.
[01:13:34] >> Um I'm going to to air on the side of honesty here. I really I really do not
[01:13:42] think I could >> look at your map and and tell you one way or another.
[01:13:47] >> That's fine. >> [snorts] >> less helpful for sure. But >> so you're saying the thing, the treasure
[01:13:56] that you won't tell us about yet, Captain Scarlet wants. >> Yes. Yes. She had me kidnap someone uh
[01:14:04] to learn more about it. >> Then tell us and I won't kill you.
[01:14:12] [gasps] >> I don't know about the exact treasure. I I know that she had me kidnap a a a
[01:14:22] scholar of religion. Do you know >> any more information? >> I I just had an address. I
[01:14:31] >> What's the address? >> Scoped it out. >> What was the address?
[01:14:34] um he will give you a a uh street uh in one of the larger uh cities on the
[01:14:45] island of Murda. >> Um >> if anything, she'll kind of like lean
[01:14:50] down to the captain and be like, "Captain, is that where you got your map
[01:14:53] from?" >> Uh it no, just checking. Wonderful. Quick. So, now that we know all of his
[01:15:02] information, what are we going to do with him? >> We're going to put him to work.
[01:15:06] >> I'm going to put him to work. >> I have more. >> What's your
[01:15:09] >> What else do you have? >> Truly an endless wealth of knowledge.
[01:15:14] >> Well, I set him free. I really want to live. >> I really want to live.
[01:15:20] >> It is a pretty big driving factor. Yeah. >> Yes. Um, so this is the most recent of
[01:15:26] everything I can share. Um, the boat that I was put in, uh, was
[01:15:35] dragged out to sea, >> uh, by, uh, fish people. >> What kind of fish people?
[01:15:46] >> Uh, yes. Uh, Captain Scarlet. >> I'm not a fish person. >> Are you not fish?
[01:15:52] >> Well, you have threatened my life several times. I'm getting the sense
[01:15:56] that they were meaner and no. So, I would say no. No. Not like
[01:16:02] no. >> So, Captain Scarlet can, I guess, communicate with these fish people and
[01:16:10] that's how they dragged you out to sea, or does she have fish people on her
[01:16:13] crew? >> Uh, no. No, she's uh druidic. Cathara is saying that and like
[01:16:23] >> pirate queen scarlet and druid and I think just going oh >> because she's immediately thinking just
[01:16:32] going this is just nailing in a coffin of >> you know Riven's like this this loyalty
[01:16:38] and just kind of sitting here going oh no no no okay cool I will deal with that
[01:16:42] later wonderful like a so yep ditic >> [sighs]
[01:16:53] >> Great. >> Just keeps getting better and better, doesn't it?
[01:16:56] >> Love this for us. >> We might not even need the next plan. We
[01:17:01] may not even make it past plan C. >> Yeah. >> Well, Captain. >> Yes.
[01:17:08] >> What are your orders? >> He says with all of the [laughter]
[01:17:13] >> So much respect. >> So, all the respected orders. It's tangible. How much respect
[01:17:20] [laughter] is the respect? >> Oozing respect. Uh, well, I for one
[01:17:29] welcome the challenge. [sighs] Of course he does. >> I say we do it.
[01:17:36] >> You do. >> Do what? >> We do what the captain says. >> You think that we should try to find the
[01:17:42] same thing as the pirate queen? >> Mhm. >> Can I ask why? I'm going to insight. I'm
[01:17:48] not even gonna I know exactly why, but that's not bad. >> 16.
[01:17:58] >> Telling the truth. >> Yeah. Yeah, I know. >> I know why. >> Should I ask why?
[01:18:04] >> Oh, you know why? >> No, he's he's asking like he's legitimately.
[01:18:07] >> Because the captain said we should. >> Yeah. Thank you. And you thought she
[01:18:13] didn't like me? He gives her a we'll talk later. [laughter] Yeah,
[01:18:24] >> that is [laughter] an inside. I just I just give you a we'll talk later.
[01:18:28] >> I look at your reaction like it come from the same cloth. No, they not.
[01:18:32] [laughter] >> Reuben does not react to him saying that though. [sighs and gasps]
[01:18:38] >> Great. >> Great. >> Do you want me to tie him up or is he working on the ship?
[01:18:41] >> He's working. >> Oh, he working. He's be What did you do on uh
[01:18:45] >> Oh, >> Captain Scarlet. >> We need No, we need to walk this
[01:18:48] delicate tight rope. >> We are in friendly competition. >> Yes.
[01:18:54] >> With Captain Scarlet, not in open defiance. >> Correct. >> So,
[01:18:59] >> we just happen to be going to the same place. >> Jim will be a prisoner that we put to
[01:19:05] work >> and earns >> commissary wages that can be cashed out later.
[01:19:13] But technically a prisoner, not a crew member. >> Yes. Not a part of our crew.
[01:19:18] >> Of course not. No. >> Mhm. >> Can he be under my charge? >> Well, what Jim, what did you what did
[01:19:27] you do? What did Jim do on on Captain Starship? >> Jim, what did you do?
[01:19:30] >> What was your job? >> Um, >> what can you do outside of I guess run
[01:19:36] your mouth? Uh admittedly my particular skill set was not as much
[01:19:44] on the sailing part of being on the crew. >> Mhm. [clears throat]
[01:19:49] >> But I can pitch in and shle as it were as I get my strength back.
[01:19:54] >> What was your job? >> Yeah, you're dodging the question. Well,
[01:20:00] >> mainly lots of kidnappings and thieveries and espionages. >> Oh, you know what? I actually have work
[01:20:10] for you. >> Oh, excellent. >> Great. Love this. >> I have work for you.
[01:20:18] >> Fantastic. Well, I guess with that settled crew away, Anchor, let's get
[01:20:22] going as the captain ordered. Uh if if we are heading there, I have
[01:20:30] one recommendation. Uh go on the north side of the island. >> I'm assuming she's on the southern side.
[01:20:42] >> Yes. Gotcha. >> Gotcha. >> Smart move. >> She went to the souththeast so it would
[01:20:48] be more difficult to see if there was a ship to pass by. >> Mhm. Mhm.
[01:20:53] >> Oh shoot. Got it. Great. Uh, Uldren, you heard that? >> You're sure that you want me helming
[01:21:00] this? >> You're the navigator. >> It's your job. >> Yes, but this is important. And
[01:21:08] >> you know how to read a compass. You're fine. >> Captain claps you on the back. I know
[01:21:13] you've got this. >> It's what he hired you for. >> Exactly. And we all have rolls his eyes
[01:21:20] [laughter] >> and goes to the wheel. All right, Riven. >> I'll help you and I'm going to cast
[01:21:28] guidance [music] on you. >> What does that feel like when you cast
[01:21:32] guidance or look like >> it literally feels like when um like
[01:21:37] water kind of rushes over you? Like it's like feels like a wave of like good
[01:21:41] feeling. >> You just [laughter] the the like shivers. >> Yeah.
[01:21:46] >> Yeah. Like when you first get into like a hot tub or something like that. I will
[01:21:50] attempt to helm us to the northwest side of the island. >> Yes.
[01:21:56] >> Yes. >> Yes. >> Is that survival? >> Uh yes. And you are also slightly aided
[01:22:02] by some extra information. >> Okay. >> And Yeah. >> Okay. >> And I have guidance.
[01:22:08] >> Yes. >> So that extra extra information does that potentially mean like advantage?
[01:22:15] >> No, just a lower DC. >> Oh, okay. >> Hopefully a really It doesn't even make it in the thing. It
[01:22:20] wasn't in the trade doesn't count if it doesn't make in the trade.
[01:22:22] >> Doesn't count. I didn't see it. I couldn't even read it. >> Much better. Okay, so that's okay.
[01:22:25] That's survival, right? >> Yeah. >> Yes. >> Okay. I rolled very low, but I have a
[01:22:30] good modifier. So, >> hey, nice. >> And I rolled a four on Riven's guidance.
[01:22:38] >> Big was big. Fair enough. So you uh
[01:22:49] at about midday the uh an island comes into view. >> Okay. [snorts]
[01:22:56] >> It is not too much longer than that. Then you are able to navigate off the
[01:23:02] northwestern shore of the island. >> Okay. And the uh crew uh well our mini crew here uh is able to
[01:23:15] ready to depart. >> Um as I was navigating, could I have asked um Riven a question? [snorts]
[01:23:21] >> Absolutely. >> Since she that was the real reason that I wanted you to come with me.
[01:23:25] >> Mhm. >> All right. What's the real reason? >> What real reason?
[01:23:30] >> What's the real reason that you want to go to the island? >> Captain Scarlet wants [snorts] what's on
[01:23:34] the island. That's the real reason, >> right? So why would you, since you
[01:23:39] admire her so much, want to be in opposition to her? >> Who says I'm in opposition to her?
[01:23:44] >> We're working for the captain. >> Are we? I feel like every now and now
[01:23:51] and then we're like, we're working for the captain. We're working against the
[01:23:56] captain. We're manipulating the captain into what we want to do. So, are we
[01:24:01] really working for the captain? >> [snorts] >> What's your plan?
[01:24:06] >> To get the art of or whatever it is >> and get it to her. >> No.
[01:24:12] >> And get it to the captain. >> No, just get it. That's what I want to
[01:24:16] do. >> All right. >> Okay. >> And there were no birds this morning, by
[01:24:26] the way. >> That's cuz we were too far away from land. >> Still disappointing. and I will return
[01:24:33] to navigating. >> Excellent. So, uh the captain will assume
[01:24:44] it is the five of you going ashore. >> Yes, but with our new good friend Jim, I
[01:24:56] don't want to leave him necessarily there. So, I might want to tie him up.
[01:25:03] I'll time up. Ah, >> yes. Throw him in the conference room. >> Yes, because we don't.
[01:25:09] >> Yeah, because we use the conference room much more. >> Do we have we ever used the conference
[01:25:15] room? >> No. >> One [laughter] time. >> No. Every meeting has been on the main
[01:25:19] deck. Actually, >> main deck or somehow in the captain's quarters.
[01:25:24] >> Yeah. >> It's how we put the hole in the desk. >> When Riven ties them up, he she ties
[01:25:28] them up real tight [snorts] like paint supervising and watching just in case
[01:25:34] you don't do it correctly so I make sure he's in there. >> All right.
[01:25:44] >> So, >> and then telling the crew no one is to let him out.
[01:25:51] Feel free to give him some water, maybe a little bit of a snack. Um, do not
[01:25:58] under any circumstances let him out. Do not untie him. She puts a bucket
[01:26:06] right nearby. Not a savage. He can still use the bathroom. I mean, yeah.
[01:26:16] So, the crew departs and a larger rowboat going to shore. Uh, the captain unfurls the map
[01:26:28] and hands it to Uldren after looking at it for a minute or so.
[01:26:35] >> Okay, >> at least this I kind of know how to do. [laughter]
[01:26:39] Um, I will take the map and attempt to orient myself to where we are on the
[01:26:44] island in relation to, you know, >> Well, you know, we're at the northwest
[01:26:48] corner. Yeah, but I'm trying to like pinpoint like where >> Actually, this one
[01:26:53] is quite easy. >> You see the path that you want to take is
[01:27:04] to the top of this small mountain, large hill. >> Okay, >> towards the center of the island.
[01:27:17] >> We need to head up this way. Great. Well, come on. I'll start trotting along.
[01:27:28] >> Someone's got to lead. >> Yeah, that one. >> Riven is going to like pass you and just
[01:27:32] start going ahead. Like not too far ahead, but like where she's in front.
[01:27:37] >> Quite eager. >> Uh, Riven, I have the map. >> You said we're going this way, so we're
[01:27:43] going this way. Tell me when to turn and I'll turn. just size [laughter]
[01:27:50] and um Saja walks up on his on his right side and is trotting next to him.
[01:27:57] >> Okay, now do I need to make a survival check? What's going on?
[01:28:04] >> So, if your only goal is to traverse up this short mountain,
[01:28:13] >> you will not need to make a survival check. However, >> Mhm. if you would like to do so in a
[01:28:19] certain way, like uh winding a path that's more specific or without
[01:28:25] navigating to a certain degree around the mountain or anything like that.
[01:28:32] >> If you want to be more specific than just climb the mountain by any means
[01:28:36] necessary, then yes. >> Okay. if possible. I don't I don't know like what the shape
[01:28:43] of the rock face is, but I would like to us to move in a way where
[01:28:48] from the op from the direction that we think that the other crew might be
[01:28:50] coming, we're less visible if that's possible. >> Absolutely. You can go ahead and make a
[01:28:55] survival check. >> Do you want to guide you again? >> Yeah. >> Okay. [laughter]
[01:29:02] >> Guided slap. >> You can do it. Yeah. Literally like you got this. You can do it. [clears throat]
[01:29:13] >> Roll the guidance. >> Roll the guidance. >> You still roll it.
[01:29:16] >> It's not going to matter. It doesn't matter. >> It's not going to matter.
[01:29:18] >> Roll the guidance. >> Don't you have good survival or no? >> Oh, I rolled a four again on the Okay,
[01:29:22] that's that is a 14 because Thank >> weirdness for Riven. >> We're going to roll it.
[01:29:27] >> Got to believe >> 14. >> Okay. Um, so you are able to find a way that doesn't
[01:29:38] involve climbing up any rock face. Um, there are some more gentle inclines
[01:29:45] here. However, as you go up um more gradually and it winds westward
[01:29:55] slightly, you are all able to see in the distance uh Captain Scarlet's ship out at sea,
[01:30:08] the Crimson Revenge. You do not see any people. >> You also don't see any obvious signs. Uh
[01:30:20] very similar to yours. They are they are parked. >> Um >> right.
[01:30:28] >> Does is there any like wildlife that's like around where we're at right now?
[01:30:33] Like do we see like any birds or any other kind of wildlife? Uh,
[01:30:41] I will happily take a survival or nature check. Yeah, your choice.
[01:30:51] >> My survival is nature. >> I'll do um nature. So 15. >> Okay. Uh surface level. Uh there are
[01:31:03] definitely birds. >> Okay. There are definitely bugs. You've seen some
[01:31:13] smaller wildlife. >> Okay. >> You have distinctly not seen a lot of
[01:31:21] broken branches or >> Okay. >> Uh things that would indicate large
[01:31:27] wildlife. >> Okay. H. >> There's not a lot of animals here. I
[01:31:37] mean, like, there are smaller ones, but not too many. Do you guys want me to see if they know
[01:31:46] anything? >> I mean, can't hurt, right? >> No, they could talk with them. Well,
[01:31:51] actually, I guess so. Riven sees the stuff about wildlife. Are there any
[01:32:00] obvious tracks where we're walking, you know, like that would lead in any sort of direction
[01:32:08] either to or away from where our goal route is. >> You can also make a survival or nature
[01:32:15] check. >> They're good at either. >> If you're looking for tracks, can I um
[01:32:20] if he's making survival um help him >> 100%. >> Yeah, I'm going to give you the help
[01:32:25] action. >> Hey, nice. I'll take advantage with my plus one. Uh unnatural 20.
[01:32:36] >> Heck yeah. >> Uh distinctly no. >> Okay. So it doesn't look like anyone has
[01:32:43] like been here in any large capacity. >> Correct. >> Either >> especially on the on the trail that you
[01:32:49] have walked. No. And in front of you. No. >> Okay. Well then yeah. I mean, asking the
[01:32:57] wildlife is probably a good idea just to see if they've like seen anything at
[01:33:02] other parts of the island. >> Okay. >> So, I'm going to speak with animals.
[01:33:13] >> She's spanking. >> Sorry, I'm marking it down. >> Um, >> what's the closest animal that I see?
[01:33:23] Uh there is a very small monkey like creature. Let's say a lemur.
[01:33:31] Lemur. >> Um excuse me. >> Uh you have its attention. >> Hi. Uh
[01:33:41] I I'm Revan. Do you have a name? >> Cool. [laughter] Cool. It tells you its name.
[01:33:55] >> It is incomprehensible to the mortal mind. [laughter] >> I want to be polite. What's your name?
[01:34:02] DM. >> No. >> Stop asking. >> Be like, I'm so glad you found [laughter]
[01:34:10] someone that have a name. >> I know I don't have a name. Please give
[01:34:15] me one. [laughter] >> Can I uh can I call you Lily? [snorts] >> Yes.
[01:34:19] >> Cool. Hi. Hi, Lely. You're so cute. Um, so have you seen like other people that
[01:34:28] like look like us that have been like kind of look You probably know know the
[01:34:34] word nefarious bad. And uh where are they?
[01:34:48] Uh they communicate to you that there was a small group
[01:35:00] uh many hours ago that entered a cave. >> Could you show us where the cave is?
[01:35:10] >> The cave is it emphasizes far from here. >> Oh, okay. Um, could you
[01:35:19] >> not around here? >> Not around here. Got it. Could you point
[01:35:24] us in a general direction? >> Uh, it will indicate uh uh very east slightly south.
[01:35:35] >> Awesome. Cool. Well, thanks so much. And she reaches into her pouch and she gets
[01:35:40] like little nuts and she's like, "Here you go. Thanks." and she's like, "Um, so there's
[01:35:47] a cave and it she points to where the lemur indicates it's extremely far. I
[01:35:54] asked Ley to tell me um it like to take me there, but it's too far and I don't
[01:35:59] want her to leave her kids, you know? That'd be wild." Um, so
[01:36:04] >> how how long did you talk to the flamer? >> Well, I mean, I got a general gist,
[01:36:10] >> right? >> Yeah. Say bye to Lily. She's about to leave. >> Bye, Lily. [laughter]
[01:36:19] >> See you later, Lily. >> Uh Lely is happily scampering, >> so we should probably go to the [snorts]
[01:36:28] cave. >> I mean, yeah, likely. >> Uh you do know that the treasure map
[01:36:34] does not go towards the cave. >> Yeah, I was going to say they don't.
[01:36:38] They're not in the same spot. Yeah, I was going to say that was my next
[01:36:40] question was asking was >> this is very similar to the last time
[01:36:44] that we had a treasure map. There was a cave that was in a different location
[01:36:49] >> than what the actual >> and there was a treasure. >> We could either scout the cave.
[01:36:52] >> What do you think the odds are >> that is the same situation
[01:36:57] >> and the treasure is not >> we could go to where Yeah, it's inside
[01:37:02] the cave. >> There's no way that happens twice. Well, it was sold to you by the same gentleman
[01:37:09] >> still. It's true. The odds are rough. >> Do you have the the old map?
[01:37:13] >> Not with me. >> Bring it to this side. >> It's not the same idea.
[01:37:18] >> No, I was wondering if the maps look like they were made by the same maker.
[01:37:25] [snorts] >> Habits and whatnot. >> Yeah. Um, well, here's >> Well, this is even good news. Now we
[01:37:31] don't even have to potentially cross the captain. >> Exactly. We could go to first where the
[01:37:36] X is marked on the map for the supposed treasure. If we do not find anything
[01:37:40] there, then we can backtrack it to the cave where uh the captain Captain
[01:37:46] Scarlet is. >> Really? We want to do that. >> Do we think that if we if we have two if
[01:37:50] we followed the path, would we then descend towards the cave?
[01:37:57] >> Is that along the way? Can I try to navigate between looking at the map and
[01:38:02] then the ribbons directions get a sense of just how far these things are in
[01:38:07] relation to one another? >> Um, as long as there's a safe way to go
[01:38:10] down the other side of the mountain. Yes. >> No, I mean like if I'm looking at the
[01:38:14] map and then thinking about what Riven's telling me the direction the directions
[01:38:18] are, how far do I think that the X and this cave are? Like just how far apart
[01:38:23] are these things? Do I think >> it depends on the topography >> uh for like travel time, but um if
[01:38:32] you're >> like close or not close is what I'm trying to get at.
[01:38:36] >> Reasonably close. >> Okay. >> All right. >> So, yeah, I think we So, we're going for
[01:38:43] the cave. >> I think we're going above the cave like last time
[01:38:49] >> because that worked so well. >> Yeah. Yeah, I'm tired of digging these
[01:38:55] holes. >> The the So, the X is more towards the top of uh the mountain.
[01:39:02] >> Okay. All right. >> At least we won't have to risk running a
[01:39:09] foul of the queen >> potentially >> because if we don't get it, then she
[01:39:15] gets it and then everything's fine anyways. >> All right. >> I mean, it's not fine, but
[01:39:19] >> Well, then we've lost an honorable competition. And if we get What if
[01:39:23] they're wrong? >> True. >> What if the cave goes up? >> See, I agree with the captain.
[01:39:30] >> Can you fly, Captain? >> No. So, we should dig down. See what I
[01:39:35] mean? >> Like last time. >> All right. Well, I guess we're going up
[01:39:39] the mountain uh as to where this uh treasure map is pointing us to.
[01:39:47] >> Hooray. >> You brought the shovels, right? Yes, I brought the shovels and I brought
[01:39:51] sandwiches and tea. >> Made tea already cuz last time I think I
[01:39:55] needed to brew it a little longer. >> Yes, I pre-made tea. We just need to put
[01:39:59] it on to heat it up if we would like it hot. It's fine. Lukewarm.
[01:40:06] >> I will begin to lead us up the mountain. >> I can make it cold.
[01:40:09] >> Um, yes. Simply simply traversing up the mountain side [snorts] is not
[01:40:14] particularly difficult. >> My goodness. >> How long does it take?
[01:40:18] um >> 10 years. [laughter] >> It's been 84 years. >> Uh madam to wind in a way where it's
[01:40:28] more of like a recreational hike. >> Okay. >> Um you do a little bit more winding, but
[01:40:35] you're there well under an hour. >> Oh, okay. Not bad. >> Um so currently you are at like dusk.
[01:40:46] >> Cool. or maybe slightly before. >> And we're at where we think the X is
[01:40:51] supposed to be. >> Uh yes. Yes, it is less rocky uh than previously when you've had to to
[01:41:01] dig for treasure. >> Um there is also uh more trees, but there is uh a fairly large opening.
[01:41:15] >> Okay. Oh, >> can I try to do what I did last time where I'm sort of like scuffing my boot
[01:41:21] through the dirt trying to see if there's an area that seems looser like
[01:41:24] it was re like had to be filled in >> like after >> an area that was clearly disturbed and
[01:41:30] then recct. >> Uh absolutely. Um you can do nature survival perception.
[01:41:39] >> I will also help. Absolutely. Yes. Oh, beautiful. That's cocked.
[01:41:47] >> Is there anything else while we're rolling? >> Oh jeez, that's so much worse.
[01:41:52] >> Too bad you didn't guide me. Um >> I know >> that's >> I thought about it, but then he said it
[01:41:56] and I was like, "Oh, it'll be fine." It wasn't fine. >> It wasn't fine. Well, actually, it's not
[01:42:00] that bad. Uh seven, no, 16. >> Okay. Um, you think you find a a decent patch uh
[01:42:08] that's also uh a good distance from where the tree roots would likely
[01:42:14] interfere in the towards the middle of this clearing. >> I take a deep breath and I look at
[01:42:19] Tingis because I'm >> digging them holes >> and we know that it's the two of us that
[01:42:24] get to dig the hole >> every time. >> And I just >> hold out a hand to Guthara for a shovel.
[01:42:31] She pulls two off her back, >> hands them off. >> I'm so grateful. I love this gift,
[01:42:38] Kathara. >> Well, I made sandwiches. >> Let me start digging.
[01:42:44] >> Yep. Same. [laughter] >> If you want, I can turn into a boar and
[01:42:49] help, but I don't think you want that. >> I don't How is that help?
[01:42:53] >> Boores dig. >> No, boar. No, forest dig to find their homes and then they get in their homes
[01:43:00] and then they back up to it so that way they can >> it's just like digging.
[01:43:06] >> Do you want me to do it or not? >> Oh, that's up to >> I don't think that it would be maybe as
[01:43:13] >> fine. I'm just going to go walk around until you guys are done. She's going to
[01:43:16] walk around like the like in the area and just kind of see like what's around
[01:43:20] there and see if there's anything up to her in that area. >> All right. Can you make a [snorts]
[01:43:29] nature check for me, please? >> Yes. >> Great. >> Okay. Okay. Okay.
[01:43:36] >> 21. >> Second real [laughter] number of night. Let's go. >> Yes.
[01:43:43] As you're walking around >> this wooded area, you begin to have a sense
[01:43:55] there's an aura here >> that to you could honestly be described as almost
[01:44:08] calming. It is a It is a pleasant aura, a natural aura.
[01:44:20] >> Do I notice anything about like the like the trees or do they look luscious? Do
[01:44:27] like the like the foliage look very bloommy or something like that?
[01:44:32] >> Uh it is. Yeah. H um guys, something's
[01:44:43] different. Different good, but I think >> how do you mean? >> I mean, there's this like
[01:44:54] feeling. >> Is it good in a way that means we can stop digging this hole?
[01:44:59] >> Wait, hold on. Like a magical feeling? >> I think so. Oh, but it's like abundance.
[01:45:05] >> Can I start to as a ritual as I'm digging this hole, cast detect magic?
[01:45:15] >> Uh, you can. >> Okay, I'm going to do that. >> Yep. >> Um, hate that.
[01:45:22] >> A few minutes into your ritual. >> Mhm. Uh, >> I'm gonna just like spit in my hands and
[01:45:29] like rub some dirt in it and >> Yep. >> Okay. >> Uh, >> Tangus.
[01:45:39] >> Yeah. What's up? >> You hit something solid. >> Oh, nice. >> Uh, this is a much more shallow hole
[01:45:47] than before. >> What is What kind of sound does it make? >> Uh, a fairly
[01:45:53] >> th or ting. Ting >> like tingis >> guys. >> Just I look at I hit a rock
[01:46:03] >> or something metal maybe. I don't know. >> I sort of like scrape away at the area
[01:46:08] to see if I can uncover whatever he hit. If it's a rock or not.
[01:46:13] >> Um, yes. However, it is smooth. >> It's a smooth rock >> up here in the mountain. That's pretty
[01:46:22] weird. What's that? >> Nothing. >> No. Go enjoy a sandwich. You put a lot.
[01:46:32] >> It was delicious. You should have a sandwich. >> Oh, and here I hand him the shovel. I
[01:46:36] go, >> you know, [laughter] >> I don't love it, but lead by example, as
[01:46:41] I always say. >> You're the captain. You should have moving some dirt around
[01:46:47] scraping it across. Here you go, Tingi. Except for you. Captain, you're doing a wonderful job.
[01:46:55] Now this time. >> Thank you. He's just like scraping dirt. >> Yep. Got to move it away now. Start.
[01:47:00] Dude is now doing all the work. >> Now starting uh as you watch that he is kind of
[01:47:08] cleaned up >> a section. >> He's worth something [laughter] >> more than just a paycheck.
[01:47:17] >> What kind of something? >> A great something. He has his moments.
[01:47:22] >> This is an excellent sign, >> right? >> As you look down and see that
[01:47:31] uh he calls everyone over. >> I'm still in the hole. >> You can eat your sandwich here.
[01:47:39] >> Yeah. Yeah, I am. >> I look over. >> Everyone look at this. And he's like
[01:47:43] moving dirt out of the way. Uh and you can see there are carvings on the stone.
[01:47:49] >> Uhoh. Cool. >> Do they do they look familiar in some way, shape, or form? What language does
[01:47:55] this look like? >> Um, it's more of an arcane iconography >> like I don't know, primordial like
[01:48:03] something of like I don't know. >> Can I make a history check cuz I went to
[01:48:06] college? >> I also went to college. [laughter] >> Yeah, >> I also went to college. Shut up. I I'm
[01:48:14] going to try to out college you >> magic around this time. >> Yeah, you will.
[01:48:18] You were [laughter] digging. >> What did you get? >> So you would have stopped.
[01:48:21] >> What' you get? >> Oh, I got 10. >> Can I not do them at the same time?
[01:48:26] >> No. I mean, >> you can start another one. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Okay. So, you you can ritual or nothing
[01:48:34] was wasted. >> Cool. >> Um, you begin a detect magic >> history [laughter]
[01:48:40] to figure out what this looks like. >> Uh, [snorts] they look like arcane
[01:48:43] runes. >> Okay. But like of a [laughter] Of what era? >> Of what era? Like
[01:48:51] I mean runes could be from different different I don't know different groups.
[01:48:55] >> A lot of the stylistic differences are lost by the fact that they're carved
[01:48:59] into rock. >> Ah um any are we getting any magical good abundant feelings from um the uh rock
[01:49:10] here or are we safe to dig it out and pull it out? >> Give me a moment.
[01:49:16] giving >> approximately 10 minutes worth of moment. I think [laughter]
[01:49:21] >> that is so long and I am so impatient. >> I mean, I've been I cast it a little
[01:49:26] second ago. >> God, I came prepared. It's fine. >> Yeah, I was like, "Yes, sir. You
[01:49:30] absolutely pull it out. You've got it." How big is this thing?
[01:49:35] >> The captain begins reading. >> What is reading? >> Reading what?
[01:49:41] Uh, as you look closer, you see that he's definitely reading a spell scroll.
[01:49:48] >> I'm backing up. I'M BACKING UP. >> SLOWLY BACKING UP. HE'S LIKE, "NOPE."
[01:49:51] >> YEAH. I mean, >> Riven's not. She's trying to see what he's doing.
[01:49:54] >> That's fine. I'm backing up. >> Yeah. Just want to jump back. [laughter]
[01:49:59] >> I'll wait till it's done. >> There's not much chance. [snorts]
[01:50:05] >> Uh, the spell scroll >> comprehend languages. >> I hope so. I don't think so.
[01:50:12] >> We both went. >> We're just like, "Nope." >> Watch from a safe distance of, I don't
[01:50:17] know, 30 ft. >> Uh, the stone cracks and erupts with light. >> I can't imagine way just
[01:50:29] >> I hit the second egg. [laughter] >> Uh, what what did what what what what
[01:50:34] was what was that spelled? you if you would like to try to ask that
[01:50:41] question >> as you are falling you may. >> What kind of >> No.
[01:50:50] >> What? >> No. All of you. >> What? >> Even though large hole
[01:50:56] >> 30 ft in diameter. >> I think WE GIVE EACH OTHER. [laughter]
[01:50:59] YEAH. >> And it's crumbling down >> and we're like holding it and we're just
[01:51:06] like >> as you are falling through a somewhat cathedral ceiling dome
[01:51:15] >> into darkness >> and all of these rocks fall. Excellent. That's so great. [laughter] No, there is
[01:51:22] a light at the bottom if you take a little moment to look. H >> how far are we falling? I don't get
[01:51:28] >> uh luckily some of the rocks and earth will break that fall a little bit.
[01:51:34] >> I was going to say how far >> though cool. >> Uh it's it's decent.
[01:51:39] >> Like >> like >> I'm going to try to do some parkour [ __ ]
[01:51:42] so I don't >> I'm absolutely doing some acrobatics. >> Well, everyone is making a dexterity
[01:51:49] saving throw. >> Okay. >> Okay.
[01:51:59] 24. >> I got a 15. >> I got a nine. >> 15. It's also >> 24 cuz that's a 19 on the die.
[01:52:09] >> Must be nice. >> You get plus five. >> I didn't roll yet. >> Oh, okay.
[01:52:15] >> I was debating. >> I mean, if a Zach plus seven, it' be a much higher.
[01:52:20] >> No, you mean I would have gotten a 17. [snorts] Uh, okay. I have a good safe. Okay.
[01:52:27] >> What'd you get? >> 15. >> 24. >> All right. You can stop then.
[01:52:33] >> My cat. I land on my feet. >> That's true. >> Um, sorry. What was that?
[01:52:38] >> 15. >> 15. >> 24. >> 24. >> Nine. >> 15. >> 15. All righty.
[01:52:46] >> How you like all fail >> for ribbon? >> Mhm. That is 22 damage.
[01:52:57] >> Can I attempt to intercede? >> It will be 11 for everyone else.
[01:53:03] >> Can I attempt to help her? >> Uh >> by doing a specific thing, not just by
[01:53:07] >> Oh, I mean I happy to hear it. >> Okay. So, I think you were trying to see
[01:53:13] what he was doing, right? >> Mhm. >> Well, and you were right next to him.
[01:53:17] >> I was also I had my hands on the stone. So, I see that you're free
[01:53:24] falling really far >> and in a panic, um, I'm gonna go, "Oh, gods. Oh, gods. Please work. Please
[01:53:36] work." I'm going to activate my wings. >> What? [snorts] >> As a pair of ethereal
[01:53:45] um, seabirdlike wings erupt from my back in a pale light. And I'm gonna time to
[01:53:51] catch you. [sighs] >> You are going to get to catch and semi shield. So instead,
[01:54:06] uh, you will each be taking 16 damage. >> I'm go for it. >> Okay,
[01:54:14] >> that's fine. >> That's better. Would you like to describe you sprouting wings?
[01:54:21] >> Yeah. Um, >> as you are free falling, >> I think he's falling
[01:54:28] um facing forward so he's able to see that Riven is a little bit below him.
[01:54:33] >> Absolutely. >> Um, and probably wouldn't have done this for any other member [laughter] of the
[01:54:38] crew. Um, but he sees Riven and he thinks back to the discussion that they had in the
[01:54:47] crow's nest about um him having fun on this next mission and them having a bet
[01:54:54] and the fact that she still has to make good on that bet. And she can't make
[01:54:59] good on that bet if she's not okay. Um, and he, like I said, he was going to
[01:55:05] mutter to himself, "Please, please, please." and these ethereal
[01:55:12] sort of like faintly whitish transparent um really long like albatross wings are
[01:55:23] going to sprout from his back and he's going to go into a dive um to try to
[01:55:27] catch her. and you are able to do so. And for completely separate reasons,
[01:55:34] you two are high-fiving in the background. [laughter] And you do it not so grace. I do it kind
[01:55:42] of gracefully. And then I look and I go, >> I think we found a bird.
[01:55:48] >> Yeah, we're I'm in a >> bird. Uh, >> okay. You are on a pile of stone and
[01:55:55] earth and there is light flickering around you. [snorts] >> Oh, it's an angel.
[01:56:02] >> What? >> What is that? >> Are you okay? >> What is [laughter]
[01:56:08] >> You have wings. >> What the I don't know how to do >> what
[01:56:12] >> did it work? >> You have wings. >> You have wings. >> I don't
[01:56:18] know whether it worked. What? What do you mean it worked? >> It hasn't worked in a very long. Are you
[01:56:27] okay? >> Performance issues apparently. >> Stage for >> I mean my arms really hurt.
[01:56:32] >> Yeah, it happens every day once. >> But I think I think I'm okay. [snorts]
[01:56:37] What happened? What? What? >> She >> Everything was so fast. >> What happened indeed?
