McKay Vandenberg:

Today, we're gonna be reading out of Psalms 93 as we continue in our daily Psalm practice. The Psalm says, the Lord is king. He is robed in majesty. Indeed, the Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength. The world stands firm and cannot be shaken.

McKay Vandenberg:

Your throne, O Lord, has stood from time immemorial. You yourself are from everlasting past. The floods have risen up, O Lord. The floods have roared like thunder. The floods have lifted their pounding waves, but mightier than the violent raging of the seas, mightier than the break breakers on the shore, the Lord above is mightier than these.

McKay Vandenberg:

Your royal laws cannot be changed. Your reign, oh Lord, is holy forever and ever. One of my deepest fears, one of things I'm most afraid of when it comes to dying is dying by drowning. I fell in the pool when I was younger. It's put this lifelong fear in me of large bodies of waters.

McKay Vandenberg:

I can swim. I know how to do all those things, but I still have this reverence, this awe of the ocean and its massive waves because of just how big and scary it can be. And as I read Psalms 93, I'm reflecting on the fact that no matter how big my fears are, God is still bigger than that. You know, it says in verse five, your royal laws cannot be changed. Your reign, oh lord, is holy forever and ever.

McKay Vandenberg:

In verse four, a little before that, the lord above is mightier than these. We can rest knowing that no matter what keeps us up late at night, the fears that we are experiencing, God is still bigger than those. He is mightier than those and he has a plan for our lives. His reign, his power will never be defeated and will reign forever. Let's pray.

McKay Vandenberg:

Heavenly father, as we navigate the difficult fears, the difficult, challenges we face in our life, whether rational or irrational, remind us today that you are bigger than that. You are bigger than the things that we worry about, that you are king supreme over our lives and have a plan for us. Lord, remind us today of your majesty, power as we go about our days. Remind us that in you, can rest in that power. In you, we don't have to have fear of the things around us, but can have, whole trust in you.

McKay Vandenberg:

We pray all these things in Jesus name. Amen.
