Part 1
Wings – Arrow Through Me
Soccer Mommy – Feel It All The Time
Regina Spektor – One Man’s Prayer
KALI – Flem
Divino Niño – Tu Tonto
HOMESHAKE - Sesame

Facts
Wings – Arrow Through Me
- Anybody catch Paul McCartney’s headlining set at Glastonbury this weekend? I caught it after the fact, but it was indeed an epic, signature moment in a career already packed to absurdity with superlatives.
- In a set featuring a virtual John Lennon duet along with jams featuring Dave Grohl and The Boss Bruce Springsteen, McCartney along with the pyrotechnics of the event had the crowd so in his hand that they were spontaneously singing happy birthday to the newly minted octogenarian at one point, and the whole performance was just packed with positivity and wisdom.
- Yeah, that’s right. Eighty years old and he’s headlining the Pyramid Stage at the world’s biggest music festival event. Seriously, as if the resume wasn’t a very thick book already, this was a performance for the ages that will reverberate.
- Paul McCartney at 80 years old is officially king of the world as far as we’re concerned. May there be many more trips around the sun beyond this.
Soccer Mommy – Feel It All The Time
- Sophie Allison is out with Sometimes, Forever as of Friday, which would be the artist’s 3rd studio album.
- Per the review from Pitchfork, “At the heart of Sometimes, Forever lurks the axiom that nothing lasts. The most vivid triumphs and hollowing depressions each evaporate in turn. Though repeated to the point of cliché, “this too shall pass” butts up against another persistent cultural narrative: That it’s possible to make it, that if your output or your essence is good enough, you’ll ascend, be rewarded, never work a day in your life. You can win, but you still have to live with yourself.”
Regina Spektor – One Man’s Prayer
- Also out this weekend is Russian-American artist Regina Spektor’s first album in six years called Home, before and after.
- Interestingly, this is the first time Spektor has worked remotely on an album, recording vocals in an upstate New York converted church while producer John Congleton put it together in California.
- I’ve only listened to it once through so far, but it’s a very hefty and ambitious record on the arrangements and simply put I gotta check it out again as it was a lot to absorb.
KALI – Flem
- Another interesting and very distinct bit of atmospheric, punctuated indie rock from Kali Flanagan, who began releasing music a year ago as just a 16 year old and just seems to get better and better.
- Wondering when an album is coming from the LA-based artist, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see. If KALI is not on your radar, do add. It’s always a surprise.
Divino Niño – Tu Tonto
- This tune meaning you stupid is the lead single to the Chicago-based band’s upcoming album Last Spa On Earth, which releases September 23.
- Their debut full-length from 2019 called Foam was an especially sweet LP laced with psychedelia and soul-smacked Latin rock that got very good reviews so a lot of heads are definitely excited about this new album announcement. Definitely do check Foam if you never listened.
HOMESHAKE – Sesame
- This is the solo project of Montreal-based Peter Sagar, who does lovely rnb-influenced bits of psychedelic indie. This one coming up to finish part one is just smacked out, so we’ll float into part 2 with that tonight.

Part 2
Tape Tension - Fossils
Ginger Root - Loneliness
Sleepy Soul - Summers With You
Djo - Change
BILBAO - Mojito
lovelytheband - Sail Away
Stella Donnelly – Flood

Facts
Tape Tension - Fossils 4.37
Tape Tension is the home recording project of multi-instrumentalist and producer, Jack Ross. He has rectenly released a 9 track album called Questions In Balance. Fossils is the 6th track, Describing how you shouldnt stay in the past and move on your own. A true opposite of the word Fossil.

Ginger Root - Loneliness 3.27
Ginger Root is an indie soul project from Huntington Beach, California led by singer songwriter and instrumentalist Cameron Lew. Lew has self-described the project's musical sound as "aggressive elevator soul". Now, my new favorite genre. Loneliness is the first single off of Ginger roots next EP "Nisemono". Out, Sept 9th. The word Nisemono means fake, or fraud. The story behind the song is a scenario of Ginger Root performing in place of a major idol in Japan. Now, creativity really diverse in art.

Sleepy Soul - Summers With You 3.27
Sleepy Soul is a St. Louis based indie pop band consisting of Nick Hummel and Michael LeFevre. Their music blends infectious vocals, dreamy synths, and warbly guitars. Lyrically, their music explores themes of love and loneliness. Both members produce Sleepy Soul's music from their bedroom studios in different states. And just like their name, I am also a sleepy Soul, every hour of everyday.

Djo - Change 2.58
Djo, the solo project of Stranger Things actor Joe Keery, has dropped a new single, “Change.” The dynamic, psych-infused track will appear on Djo’s forthcoming sophomore album, Decide, out Sept. 16.Keery teased the album last week by unveiling a Djo hotline, allowing fans to dial (928)-8-DECIDE to hear a trippy 8-bit audio teaser.

BILBAO - Mojito 3.05
MOJITO, the latest single of BILBAOs upcoming album SHAKE WELL is a Justin Timberlake-esque dance tune that forces everyone to get up and move. BILBAO painted the picture of a love-at-first-sight on a hazy and sweaty disco dance floor. Both the protagonist as well as his counterpart feel the magnetism of their dance moves and while they get closer, they literally taste the freshness of the mojito limes that they had earlier, if u know what I mean 👀.

lovelytheband - Sail Away 2.59
Following their 2020 sophomore record, conversations with myself about you, the indie-pop trio have returned with new track, “sail away,” and it’s a keeper for all of those out there who just want to say goodbye to their fears. Bye bye to the overwhelming pressures of society and just sail away. Well, I personally have a boat ready by the creek downtown, so if you see me don't stop me.

Part 3
THICK - Loser
Alex G - Runner
Rubblebucket - Morning In The Sun
Rebounder - Boy Friday

whaledontsleep ft. haruno - caramel
Monster Rally – Grassy Crystals

The band says, "This song is an anthem for everyone who feels outshined and overlooked by the people around them. Ultimately, it’s about using that chip on your shoulder to do better and realizing that you’re never going to be a winner if you keep using other people as your measuring stick.”

Alex G - Runner 2.37
Songwriter Alex Giannascoli, 29, has steadily risen to indie stardom after gaining recognition with a series of self-released albums recorded before and during his time at Temple University.
“Runner,” off the newly-announced God Save the Animals, out this september, arrives with a video that nods to Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. Twinkling piano and playful guitar open Alex G’s new track “Runner,” a pleasant indie-rock song enriched by the singer’s shapeshifting vocals.

Rubblebucket - Morning In The Sun 4.04
Rubblebucket is an American art-pop and indie-rock band from Brooklyn, NY. The primary members are musical couple Annakalmia Traver and Alex Toth. The song itself is a love song, sharing a description of how much they would like to stay with partner, to watch the Morning, the sun rising with them.

Rebounder - Boy Friday 3.03
New York-based indie band Rebounder just released their dreamy new single and video for "Boy Friday". The band has a cinematic vibe to their music that pulls the listener in, engulfing them in a sweet escape from daily life.On "Boy Friday", Rebounder delves deep to express their view on the concept of time and how we relate to its effects. The push-and-pull dynamic felt by time and every passing moment can create contradicting emotions, all depending on how you look at it.

Triathalon - Dreams 3.23
Brooklyn-via-Savannah indie-rock trio Triathalon have announced a new single Dreams from their newest upcoming album Spin, out August. Now, when you listen to Dreams, I relate to a very personal level. The lyrics describe how you feel tired 24/7. It's hard to reply messages, sometimes diffict to choose the right choices cuz of it. Sometimes quite on quite Laziness ccan really get the worst of you.

whaledontsleep ft. haruno - caramel 3.17
Debuting in 2019 whaledontsleep does all the songwriting, composition and arrangement by himself as he continuously releases his works to the world; including works using VOCALOID, with vocals featuring Yama and Ado. He's released one main VOCALOID album in 2019, and another featured album in 2020. "Whale"seems to have talent within his work and collaborations as a new generation creator, and has received a lot of attention from the music scene.

Part 4
Ultracrush - Away Game
Boyhood - Stroke It
Drauve - Pictures
The Mary Onettes - What I Feel In Some Places
Mina Okabe - Waiting Is A Waste
Haepa - Safe Haven
Dallas Tamaira – Just Fine

Facts
Ultracrush - Away Game 4.25
ultracrush are masters of weaponizing melancholy into song craft. this band consistently deliver and ‘away game’ is another diamond in their crown. Away Game is not a fun tune, however it does sound like one. It's about losing the chance to fix your mistake, or a relationship. Ya know, you gotta catch the timing right. The chance doesn't come around often.

Boyhood - Stroke It 4.01
Caylie Runciman aka Boyhood shares her perfect new single "Stroke It", taken from the gorgeous, just announced new Boyhood album My Dread, coming this fall. You can have your interpretation on what the song means. Could be stroking a cat, guitar or something else. The song has that 80s synth-pop a-la Joy Division vibe music.

Drauve - Pictures 3.22
On the surface, Drauve may seem like any other dream-pop band looking get its start in the Pittsburgh music scene, but the group has a distinct advantage. In college, lead singer Victoria Morgan was diagnosed with obsessive - compulsive disorder, which has unexpectedly helped Drauve excel in a short amount of time. “My psychiatrist said OCD is like a superpower,” says Morgan. “Sometimes, even though it causes you a lot of issues in your life, when you learn how to manage it, you can use it to be more productive.”

The Mary Onettes - What I Feel In Some Places
The Mary Onettes will release their new mini album What I Feel In Some Places on July 1. Ahead of the album’a arrival, the band have shared the title-track. “What I Feel In Some Places” was one of the first songs written for the new upcoming album. It takes inspiration from Peter Gabriel’s typical 80s rhythms and blends it with the more dreamy Mary Onettes landscapes.

Mina Okabe - Waiting Is A Waste 2.58
As a young citizen of the world, Okabe was born and raised in London by her Japanese mother and Danish father, before travelling and living in big cities such as New York and Manila. The maturity and depth of her experience come through on her music, putting her well above her years and combining an array of influences. Waiting is a waste is an expression of how the protagonist is tired and feeling unpleasant with how the relationship doesn't have communication. Now for everyone out there, communication is KEY.

Haepa - Safe Haven 3.52
Korean Singer songwriter Haepahas released their first albun playing Dead. Fun fact, Haepa means Sea wave I. Korean, expressing the free but aggressive waves of the ocean. Safe Haven is a begging affirmation of how much the protagonist is in love with their partner. They would like to stop the time, a time where it is free, a time when it is safe to be themself. Today, I hope our Time at Underr the Radar was a Safe Haven for our listeners.
