Full show transcript:

You are so super hip when it comes to the youths and the slang that the youths use.

You know it.

Yeah.

I learned a new word over the weekend.

Right?

It's mogging.

Right. And you didn't know moging before.

I had not heard of mogging before.

Well, you've heard it now. And you straight up moggin.

You straight up be moggin.

What is moging?

I had to look it up because I don't remember. Mogging is to outclass, outshine, or look physically superior to someone else to a degree that makes them impure inferior by comparison.

That's right. You straight moggin, dude. You look it's it's you looking fresh. Dude, you looking top of the class.

You might, bro.

You straight moggin, dog.

I'm Stupid.

Yeah, you moggin'.

And you could do apparently you can do variations. Okay.

So like you got jaw moggin. Jaw moggin?

Or hair moggin.

Oh, I see. So you can put you can be specific.

You can put a

uh a specific thing that you're doing that's that's better than everybody else.

Yeah, correct.

Like, dude, your earrings moggin, you earring moggin.

That's crazy.

That's crazy.

Well. Don't even I'm gonna I'm gonna use this three times today.

In earnest. You need to use it three times and mean it.

Okay.

So, and you need to say it to youth.

Girl, you moggin' like that.

Yeah, like like a young person walks into uh into your other place of business and you go, girl, you stray moggin.

Okay, I want to do a test. I want to say it to a youth.

Yeah. I

want to say it to a middle-aged woman.

I want to say it to a an older person. Yeah. And

then I want to say it to a dude.

That's four.

I know.

You said three.

Well, I meant I want four.

Okay.

A dude wasn't part of the initial plan,

but I want to see if it's a good one. So three different generations of of women and then a dude.

Yeah. Yeah.

Dude, you moggin'.

The problem is I don't see a lot of teenagers

in my day-to-day.

I see one. My daughter.

Hours, yeah.

And she's not gonna give me a straight up.

But you but you could be a young person. As long as it's a Gen Z, you're gonna be okay.

I could go to Scouts with you tonight.

Sure. That'd be straight moggin.

Yeah.

All we're doing is cleaning up a spook out.

I don't think you're using that term right.

I think I am.

You just I said I'm gonna come with you just couch.

Yeah, and you just be straight moggin. You would be outshining everyone there. All others would be inferior to your presence. You're moggin. I knew what I said. Let's start today's show.

Okay.

Hey, welcome to Halloween week.

Oh.

Check Yeah.

Check it out.

All of the things will be themed for Halloween.

Like would you rather? And why are you mocking

my Halloween Would You Rather? I'm not mocking

your Halloween Would You Rathers. I'm saying it's Halloween week. And all the things will be Halloween themed. Yes.

As if they weren't already.

I want you to come up with a would you rather theme today?

No, it's Halloween week.

No, you come up with the you come up with uh would you rather today?

That's a long time away from now. I understand, but it's your duty now. I'm putting you in charge. Why?

Because I'm mad at you now.

What did I do?

You know exactly what you did. Making fun of my Halloween theme, would you rather

no?

Yes, you are.

No. No. Uh it's it's good to be back in the studio with you. I haven't seen you a lot this weekend. How are you?

What are you saying, Josh?

I haven't seen you in here uh this weekend.

I mean, you were gone all day yesterday, pretty much.

So about five hours, yeah.

Yeah, you got a decent break away.

Whoa. Who determines the amount of time in which it would require to be a decent amount of time? Is that just a uh subjective figure? I

mean

Did you feel like I could have been long gone longer?

I feel like it was an appropriate amount of time.

Okay.

Did

you miss me while I was away for five hours?

And not so much.

I that's exactly what I'm saying.

What are you saying?

I have no idea. It's so early, and it's Halloween week.

It is Halloween week. And can you even believe that it's gonna be November?

And time change is happening this weekend.

This weekend?

Yeah.

Ew. We're

gonna fall back and gain that hour.

Ew.

No, it's gonna feel nice.

Is it probably not?

It's gonna feel like going to bed at nine.

Exactly.

That sounds nice.

That does sound nice.

And then waking up is gonna feel like waking up an hour earlier.

Oh.

Or later. And

then, yeah.

It's gonna feel like going to bed an hour earlier and waking up an hour later.

And then the light is all

it's already.

It's all messed up.

It's already a mess.

It is a mess.

Yeah, I cannot believe it's actually gonna be November at the end of this week.

That is crazy. That is crazy.

But we'll work our way to it. It's Halloween week.

Baby.

Spooky. Okay, here's your good news. This is a story about Deborah Davis. Now, Deborah has been teaching at Addison Community Schools in Michigan since 1995.

Okay.

She's been doing it for a minute. She recently received a national amazing teacher award.

Oh, Deborah.

Which came with a pretty generous $5,000 cash prize.

Deborah.

Right. Knowing that the district is dealing with budget issues, Deborah donated all of the award money to the school.

No way.

Yep. Uh she said the gift will uh keep the middle and high school tutoring programs rolling and also fund some special enrichment trips. Uh Deborah was proud to be singled out for her work in the classroom, but she also realizes that the work also involved all the students that she works with each day. And she said, I want to have the students be a recipient of this award as well.

Oh. How nice is that?

Isn't that that's who wins the amazing teacher award?

Yeah, except next year when the

amazing teacher doesn't donate, everyone's gonna be like, Oh

Deborah did. Yeah,

you're not gonna donate that to the school.

I never did.

I guess you're not as amazing as Deborah.

You have ruined it for everyone else, Deborah.

No, she's uh decided to do that, and I think that's pretty special. So uh good for Deborah Davis, uh, from Michigan, an amazing teacher, the amazing teacher award.

That's very cool.

Yeah, yep. Well done. I think this might be exciting news for you. Uh one of your favorite TV shows is returning to YouTube every Thursday. You can watch on YouTube. Unsolved Mysteries.

No, it's

just

scary.

Unsolved Mysteries is returning Thursdays on YouTube. Uh Jordan Murphy is the host, and he will examine a variety of cold cases, including unsolved murders, puzzling disappearances, unexplained deaths, and active fugitive searches. Uh, this show historically led to a whole bunch of uh cold cases being solved uh back in the day.

Yeah, because people were watching it and they were like, wait, I know that guy. He lives next to me. And then they would do that like update. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Who Who's the original host?

That guy.

That's his name.

I couldn't tell you right now because I don't know.

Camera, look it up.

Okay. Uh, this is kind of exciting, though. And each week the series will present fresh evidence, law enforcement requests for assistance, and critical updates on past investigations to help bring closure to those affected.

So in the time- Robert Stack.

there you go. Yeah. In a time

where

cold uh cold cases and true crime are at an all time high. I think it's a brilliant move for unsolved mysteries to come back and go. These are active cold cases right now that you, the internet watching, can help solve.

Come on, internet screen.

I think that's really cool.

So that show.

Oh, just the music alone.

You would hear it in the back bedroom, and you'd be like, well, my parents are watching Unsolved Mysteries.

Oh gulp.

Yeah.

Yeah. Someone knows the truth.

Someone does know the

truth.

Let's figure it out.

Have you seen this new host?

No.

Uh look him up.

Oh, Robert Stack died in 2003.

No. Well, Jordan Murphy is the new host. You can look up the Unsolved Mysteries channel on YouTube if you want to watch this on Thursdays. It doesn't say what time the each episode will come out, but it just says Thursdays on YouTube.

What's his name? Jordan.

Jordan Murphy.

Okay.

All right.

And looking.

Yep. How's it going?

It's so good.

All right.

I don't see any pictures. Ah, he looks like he could get down to some business.

Yeah, he looks like a guy who's ready to tell you about an unsolved mystery.

Like he's ready to solve some cases.

Right. I'm a modern day detective. Look at me. Yeah. So there you go.

You can go to unsolved.com if you want to learn more.

That's their website.

Okay. Look at that. How long has that been not around?

Uh it's been not around as long as it's needed to be not around. I don't know. They still have you can watch the old episodes with uh Robert Stack on uh their webpage.

I just went to unsolve.com and

it says

accept cookies or reject cookies, and I rejected them.

Whoa. Calm down. I'm on a weight loss journey. Reject your cookies.

And guess what?

You can reject cookies and you still get to see the

internet site.

It's true.

You can.

It is true.

You don't know to accept them.

Right.

Ooh.

Anyway.

Okay.

You're gonna be busy Thursday.

I don't think that I am.

Boom, boom, boom. You're gonna hear that music.

I just liked it. It was fine, but it's not it's funny that you think it's one of my favorite.

You said you love that show and rescue 911.

Rescue 911.

You used to watch both of them.

I did used to watch both of them.

A lot.

A lot for sure.

But it was that's because we didn't have a lot of channels.

And we only had one TV in our house for a long

time. And

so

And those were on before MASH.

So oh mash. I hate MASH.

Another theme song you would hear and immediately go, uh you know they got rid of theme songs. Yeah.

Because people's attention spans are too short. That's sad.

They're like, we gotta get right to the show. Right in. Here we are. Content. No time for a theme song. Anyway. Thursdays on YouTube.

Yesterday was a very important day in our lives. And you just let it go by without even celebrating.

Well, no.

Yesterday. It was the anniversary. And I like to keep track of all the stuff.

I know stuff. What did I miss? Because it wasn't your birthday. It isn't our wedding anniversary.

It's not

uh I don't know. There's there's all of these like early October dates.

Late September, early October.

When we first met the first date, our first kiss, our first

yesterday was the first time you told me that you loved me.

Oh.

Just tell me.

Why do you have this uh Fleetwood Mac? Why do you uh why do you have this stuff in your calendar?

Because I like it.

I think it's fun. And then why are you upset at me for not

remembering that I'm not I'm not actually upset.

Okay.

But twenty three years ago, yesterday, we were at Lagoon.

Yeah. On the uh whatever the little sky

lift sky ride

thing, yeah. I

wish I could remember exactly what you said. Oh, wouldn't that be hilarious?

Hilarious.

Yeah.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if I could remember the first time you told me you had stronger than like feelings for me?

We were listening we had only been dating not

very long at all.

We

had been I've been dating long enough.

I gotta seal the deal on this one.

Well, it wasn't even it wasn't like I proposed

in the chair. It

Just was like, you know. This is more than a like thing.

And I said, thank you.

I yeah, you did, actually. And then it was a real quiet ride.

No, it

wasn't feet

swinging. I think you said something along the lines of I don't need you to say it back. I know it's early.

I don't think

I'm thinking I was probably just like blur, blurted out.

And you were like, what? And I went, you heard me. Not saying it again. You got it one time. Uh, funny. Uh 23 years ago.

Twenty-three years ago.

What a fool. Yeah.

If you didn't knowing what you know now. Would you have done that?

Would I have told you?

Yeah.

Oh, yeah.

You would do it again?

Yeah.

Ten out of ten would do again.

Yeah.

Yes. We're doing something right.

I think so. Would you say it back then?

Yes.

Yeah, that's right. Instead of making me feel all weird. Like, oh.

I I didn't say it much later after. It was probably like a couple of days later.

I

think it was more than that.

Actually, I actually think it was longer than that. probably about a month. It was and then you're like, you know, you you're kind of growing on me. So I think it's probably more than a like thing.

Go away more than anything. Like, oh, you're here again.

Yeah.

You're at my apartment again.

Quit being cute, and it won't be an issue. That's it. That's all there is to it.

I think I knew that I loved you. I

just didn't I

don't

know how know how to say it.

Probably.

It's three little words. So easy. It's

so

easy Oh here we go phone. You're on one today.

Yeah.

Want to tell everybody about the fun time that you got to have with me over the weekend. We had a fun time on Saturday.

We were having a great time. And then you said, Oh, should we go to the Verizon store? And I went, no. No.

Why?

You got a email.

I got a text.

Well, first of all, let's go back. Clear to about a year ago.

Yeah.

When us, me and the kids were due for a renewal on our phones.

Right.

And we got a newer phone than what you have. And you're you were pretty sad about it.

I mean, like technologically, sure. I like the new gadget. Yeah. So I was a little like envious that you got the new one.

Yeah.

Because you all jumped to the 10. I was still on the eight. It wasn't like I was on the nine, even. You you leapfrogged, clear to 10. And I was I I was like, man, I I wish I had the 10.

And then you got an email that said, Oh, the the

Google Pixel 11 is now

available. I've been watching the 11. I knew the 11 was out. That was a that was a non-issue. I knew that when I was ready for upgrade, I was going to the 11.

Uh the text that I got was like, if you upgrade now, we're going to give you this ridiculous deal on the phone. Uh, and it was like basically free. Pretty much.

Yeah.

And I and I said, let me go see how much this would cost out of pocket because I still have uh a payment due on my phone, like I still have some money I owe on that. So let me go see if it financially makes sense to try to take up this offer, or if I just wait until I've paid off the phone, you know, in the monthly thing, and then which still had like I don't know, five payments, something like that. So it's I still was gonna have to wait like five billing cycles.

Right.

To then be able to upgrade.

So I was like, man. These phones are so so so expensive.

Right so tough. It is so an hour and a half later. Well, listen, about about 10 minutes in, you were like, when we're done here, can we go over to real deals? And I said, Hey, well, it's right there. There's no reason you have to sit here and wait with me. And you went, No, you're right. I'm going right now. And then it felt like you weren't gone that long and you came back.

No, I had looked at everything.

Right.

So I yeah, I can't.

I still hadn't been helped yet when you got back.

An hour and a half. We were there for an hour and a half.

I felt like that was a quick visit.

It was quicker than some of the other visits we've been there for.

Why does that phone store take so long?

Why?

I don't know.

Ugh

I don't know.

Wasted an hour and a half of my Saturday, but look at you, you walked out with your new phone.

I do have a new phone. And they upgraded my watch.

And our phone bill is less. Less.

Yeah, make that make that work.

See, they know exactly what they're doing.

No, I get it, but that's why it's awesome when they send you that kind of a deal and you go, I need to go see if this is gonna make sense. So we're saving money on the monthly bill. Plus, I was upgrade, I upgraded my technology. Now I'm on the eleven, so I'm higher than you are on the 10.

I don't even care.

I know. I don't either. I was bummed out that uh that the eight was inferior technology to the 10. They changed the chip in the 11. I've got the different camera now. Like things are cool in my Pixel 11. I'm very excited about it.

Good.

Which by the way, uh, Erica who helped us out, awesome lady. Um, but she uh she was like, now why would you come in here and ask for the Google Pixel? Because she says most people come in, they're like Samsung die hard, or they're an Apple die hard, but not very many people come in here and go, I'm here for that. And I uh I think that's interesting.

What did you tell her?

Oh, I told her I said, because I'm a nerd for one, and for two, my entire existence is built around the the Google stuff, the nest, the thermostat,

the cameras, and they all talk about smart speakers, like everything, all of the home automation, like all of it

is built on Google in our world. And that's why I tell people like, look, if you're in one, if you're an Apple fanboy and you love it, and you've got Apple TV and you've got your earbuds and you've got your computer that talks to your phone, cool, good for you. Stay in that space. You don't need to change. But don't make fun of people that are in another space because you're rude.

That is rude. People tell me, sometimes people have said, Why do you have a Google Pixel? And I go, it's what my husband tells me to get.

I don't, you you do all the research. You know all the specs, and I go, I don't know.

Does it have Instagram? Then I'm sold.

There you go. Does it do what I need? Have you used an iPhone?

Yeah.

You hate

you absolutely would. Well, yeah, you've got some stuff at work you have to do on Mac stuff. I don't like that.

It's awful.

It's awful.

I don't know who built that. Do you remember back at when we started with computers in elementary school when they were like, look at the new computer? And it had one button on the mouse. What's that about? Come on now. Two buttons, two button scroll wheel. They're like, nah, you get one. And it's also square shaped. What was going on with that thing? Quit being weird. Do things normal.

My favorite part is that the first thing you downloaded was your game.

That was not the first thing I downloaded.

What was the first thing you downloaded?

I when I was converting and I had to go through the list of apps and check the ones I wanted to install. That game was on the list. Okay. But they all installed at once.

Congrats on your new phone.

Thanks.

Thanks for waiting for 90 minutes. Great complaining.

When does my case arrive today?

I don't know.

Could you check that tracking info, please?

No, it comes when it comes.

If you could just check that for me, that'd be great.

You can wait.

You could just send me the tracking code and I'll check it myself.

I know you will. Just chill out. It'll come when it comes.

Will you let me know?

No.

As part of our uh eating better journey. Is that what we are calling it?

Well, you just started. Welcome to day one.

Uh sorry. No, I've been here.

Have you?

Yeah, I've been trying to eat. Uh my big deal is portions. So I've been trying to eat smaller portions.

Okay. I'm sorry.

I mean to discredit your. It's fine. I just don't wear my progress on my sleeve, and I don't weigh myself often. And uh anyway, uh, it's been an ongoing thing since about March of this year. I re I kind of tried to get serious about it because of the big backpacking trip and stuff. And then after the backpacking trip was done in August, I kind of went like, I'll just eat whatever. And uh, and that for some reason, when you eat stuff that you shouldn't gain weight way faster than when you eat the stuff you're supposed to and try to lose it.

Yeah, and it's harder as you get older. It's harder to get rid of it.

Yeah.

That is what they say, and that is what happens. Okay.

Okay. So uh this is just kind of uh just a let's eat healthier. Uh you've been really like macro counting as far as your proteins and fibers and stuff.

You've been really trying to increase your fiber.

And one of the things we thought about was well, if we if we were able to cook breakfast, it'd be easier than trying to eat like a protein bar because you're not getting enough protein.

I read, I read something that said I should have I should have at least 20 to 25 grams of protein at breakfast. And that was nuts, like impossible. It's impossible to get that much protein and keep your calories low. Right. What was your uh protein uh count this morning? This morning, I'm at 21 grams.

That's really good.

It is really good.

So we found this little thing that lets you cook an egg and mic wave.

We we pre-cooked some sausage and we've got uh green pepper from the garden in there, and uh anyway, and so where you made these little like uh a bagel sandwich thing. And the bagels have protein in

them. Yeah,

everything has protein in it.

Right.

Every time you look for stuff at the store, you're like, oh, this is a protein bag.

Right, and they pack it in with some kind of seeds.

Sick of protein.

Proteins and fibers. That's what everybody needs more of.

Yeah.

Uh and so we're we're looking at that and trying, and we had fancy work breakfast. I feel pretty good.

It was good. I thought it was delicious.

Yeah.

A little breakfast egg sandwich. I was afraid that the because I don't really love microwave eggs.

Sure.

I was afraid that it was gonna be like a rubbery.

This little thing did a good job.

It did good.

Yeah.

And I think the sausage and the peppers and the cheese in it helped. Pepper from your garden, by the way.

Right? Fancy.

We are the fanciest.

What?

Look at us this morning.

Anybody walks in, they're gonna go, what are you cooking a meal in here? Like, yes.

I kept having to run down and check the time.

Right.

We did it.

And it turned out to be an okay thing. Like that's the part about waking up early and coming like straight to work. Like I'm not waking up at four o'clock to try to cook a breakfast at home.

No way, dude.

Yeah, no way.

I like to sleep.

Right. So we gotta find a way to do it here. And that's uh that's a new method that seems to work out pretty good. Could you eat that every day?

No.

Okay. But

you could vary it up with

well, yeah,

different mix-ins. Yeah. Like tomorrow we eat oatmeal.

Oh.

Yay. How many proteins did you get? I don't know.

Because you're also eating some cottage. I am having some cottage cheese as well, which is more than a few.

You could throw like a scoop or two of cottage cheese into the egg.

Yeah, I know. That'd be pretty good too.

That would give you more protein.

Right. It sure would.

I get it. Look at us. Eating our protein, getting our proteins in. What?

Fancy breakfast.

What are we? What are we gonna talk about right now?

Why do you sound like that?

Because I'm pretty excited. Yeah.

I'm pretty stoked.

I've been a Vikings fan for a really long time.

Four seasons? Okay. I mean, look, that's longer than somebody who's joining now.

Yeah. And here's all these. We're gonna see all these bandwagoners, aren't we? Because they're like, the Vikings are pretty good. I guess I'll be a Vikings fan. No. You haven't sat with them through their losses. You don't know what it feels like.

Okay.

We are, and when I say we, I am the 12th man on the team.

All right.

The Vikings are the only team in the NFL with a 6-0.

You are the

last

undefeated team. That is correct.

Come on.

That is a big deal.

Everybody's giving my quarterback a lot of grief because he's short and they keep calling him a him a toddler.

But he's not that short.

No, he's not that short. He's like 5'10.

Okay. I mean, he's taller than me.

I but they're like, you can't even see over his O-line.

Well, he's getting it done, isn't he? That's true.

Isn't

he?

We're killing it.

So here's what's going on. You do have a 6-0 record, which is big.

Yes.

You beat the Indianapolis Colts uh yesterday.

16 to 10. That's kind of a close game. It was close, but that's okay.

Uh you are around a 91% probability to make the postseason go into the go into the playoffs.

Yes.

Uh with a strong grip on the NFC seating,

which is a big deal.

Uh huge defense, number one defense in the NFL.

I know.

Undoubtedly.

I know.

Now your offense is where they go, what's going on with your offense? Because you haven't scored a lot of points, but your defense has not allowed

our

defense higher. You're uh yeah, has held strong. I think like in total uh across the six games, I think your defense is only allowed like 70 points total. But

our offense

across all the games.

Everyone is saying our offense isn't good either, but we've got a really good offense.

No, I know you do. Yeah.

Side too.

Right, but you've had a lot of injuries. Like this game was the first time you had a lot of your weapons back.

I know.

Uh, which is a big deal. Your next game is one I would say is pretty tough.

Who is it?

Detroit.

Oh no. Detroit's been playing terribly. Have you seen it?

It's a divisional matchup.

I get it, but they have not been playing well.

And I like Detroit, but Dan Campbell.

Rough and tough Dan Campbell.

Detroit won this weekend as well.

Who

they play? I don't remember. I was fishing.

Probably the Panthers or something.

No. And

the And

the Panthers are good, remember? They've they've turned to turn to leak.

You know who else?

You're confusing them for the Cardinals.

Do you know who else is doing pretty okay? It's the Dolphins.

Okay.

Okay. You

were trying to see who Detroit plays?

Yeah. Yeah.

But anyway, there is according to analytics or analysis.

They play the Packers.

Come on, of course they won. There we go. Here we go. Oh boy. They have a it says here the Vikings have a strong statistical chance to make the playoffs.

Though what?

Say analysis, those folks give them about a four percent chance to make it to and win the Super Bowl.

You just wait.

I'm just telling

you what that's all those analysts who are the analysts.

Tom Brady.

Well, I don't know. But I've heard a lot of people saying that here's here's the thing that I say. A lot of people go, well, it'll be we'll see what happens when they play a real team. They have been playing real teams. I will fight everyone.

We're doing so good.

It was up to the Chiefs last night. It was me and the Chiefs because the Niners got booted out pretty early.

Right.

And so then it was I was watching that game. I wasn't really watching it.

No, but you're paying attention.

Checking the scores. And there was a rivalry in our family.

That's right. We had a Seahawks fan and we had a Chiefs fan. Yep.

And I don't know why we have a Chiefs fan in our family. But they got booted and I went, oh. Look who's on chat. Baby.

I know. Yeah. No, I was in the text group. I saw what you had to say. That's why when you started, I just put a picture of a crazy raccoon. I just said, watch out.

I I was texting and you go, Who are you texting? I go, Oh, Chantel has entered the chat.

Yeah. Yeah. Watch out. Uh, it is interesting though. There's a lot of naysayers in regards to your team.

I know there is. I think that's really interesting.

It feels almost like people aren't yet ready to accept that your

team is six and oh it could make anything. it happen

Skull.

Skull is on the roster.

Baby. What are you saying?

I don't know.

Skull is on the roster. No, that's not even a sentence.

Yes, it is.

What does it mean?

Oh, well, Skull is our chance.

No, I I know.

You just asked what it meant, so I'm telling you.

No, I know, but the entirety of the sentence makes no sense.

Yeah, it does.

Our chant is on the roster.

Yeah. Yeah.

Like, yeah, come on. Yeah, get with me.

I shouldn't have to explain my trash talk to you.

You are crazy.

Who's playing tonight? I

don't even know who

the Monday night football game is. You know what is also crazy?

Chris Collinsworth and his love for Patrick Mahomes. That's gross.

Oh, he fumbled his own football. Look how greedy he is picking it back up. Can't over it.

I think it's uh Cowboys Eagles tonight.

Yeah, it is.

Oh, the Eagles, they're not gonna do so hot.

They got Jalen Hurts is out.

Yeah. That's the game tonight.

Okay.

Here we go.

Um, you have some lights installed in your in your truck.

That's right. They're called ditch lights. And they uh they're up next to the windshield and they are amber and they uh they broadcast light out to different angles that my headlights don't reach, so I can see better.

You went into a store on Saturday evening, and me and Emery were with you, and you said, Do you guys want to come into the store? And we said, No, nope. Thanks. We're gonna stay in the car. Because it was a dude store. No, thank you. Bass Pro shops. No. That's never a store. I'm not gonna want to go into.

Okay.

Sometimes they have cute shoes.

All right.

So then you get out and you notice that your lights are kind

of Well, I went through the car wash and the one was kind of crooked.

Crooked.

So you were fixing your lights, and Emory goes, Flash him, flash him, flash him.

And I could not figure out how your little light contraption thing works.

That's fine.

And then you said it's the one button.

Yeah. So I have uh there's a little light controller that has like six or eight buttons on it.

There's six. Okay.

And then there's one button that has a label that says cubes. Yeah. And that's that's it. The other ones don't have stickers on them because there's nothing wired to those yet.

Didn't know that.

And I say yet because like light bar would go on there. Winch in and out can go on there. Uh chase lights can go on there.

It's chase lights.

So chase lights are the lights on the back. So when you're on a dusty road, you can turn on your chase lights so that people behind you have light pointed at them that's brighter so they know how far away you are from them in the dust.

Uh-huh.

And then there's like utility lights that you can put on the sides that can uh angle down, so like camp lights.

Oh.

There's so many lights. I could put on rock lights. I don't know if I will. I don't really like the look.

What's a rock light?

Rock lights are the ones that go up under your fenders and put light down.

But again, the there's a lot of these guys who have the show truck thing driving around town with them on there.

And I don't care for it because it it's not underglow. The idea behind the rock light is so that if you're trying to rock crawl or or off road and it's a you know a little dim lid outside, you can look out and you go, I can see that rock. Let me turn the wheel this

way

as you're four-wheeling. That's what rock lights are for. But a lot of these guys put them on their big lifted truck so that it looks like underglow, but then you can see it, and it's no longer a utility, it's more of a fashion thing.

It's pretty.

I

don't care for it. Look how pretty My lights are on my truck.

I know. I don't care for it. So I don't think I want that.

Okay. Well, good, because I don't want to pay for more truck lights.

Truck lights. They're cool.

I you had a pretty sweet when you had your Tacoma,

you had a pretty sweet. You

had a light bar.

I know.

You had ditch lights.

Yep.

And you had something else.

That's it. Just the two.

I thought you had a third.

No.

Are you sure?

Yes. I

saw a Tacoma the other day. I miss your Tacoma. I liked your Tacoma.

Yeah?

Yeah, I feel like the Tacoma suited you better than the Tundra.

The Tundra pulls the trailer better.

No, and it's more roomy.

It's way more room.

It's it is more of a cushier ride.

Yeah.

I understand. I just liked your Tacoma. Plus also was easier to drive the Tacoma.

Because it's a little smaller.

Yes.

Why don't you get a Tacoma? I should

get a Tacoma.

I know a place. I would love it if you had a Tacoma.

I should get a Tacoma, except my car is paid for, and I don't want another car payment.

That's a good point.

But it would be nice in the winter.

To have a Tacoma?

Yeah.

I think you'd like it.

I would like it. There's a cute little trunk.

Yeah.

I would just get a two-seater so that I can't haul anybody.

We should we should seriously think about you getting a Tacoma.

No, what I really want to seriously consider is getting a what's that car? A Triumph. Is that what it's called?

You want a classic car.

Yeah.

Yeah. You really want like an MG or a Triumph.

Yes.

The Triumphs are considerably more expensive. But you do want a little classic car. Yes. And the little luggage rack on the back.

Yes.

They're very cute.

I mean, like, oh, I love it so much.

Yeah.

The Triumph Motor Company.

Yep. That's what I want.

I want one of those.

I know. Little convertible. Take a little drive.

Yep.

Classic car. Yep.

They're pretty cute. Yeah. Or yeah, the MG.

Right.

Oh, it's so cute. I really wanted a Shelby, but that's too expensive. But if you could find like an inexpensive Triumph or an

MG,

yes. I want that.

Right. And

then I just want to go on a little road trip with you.

Yeah.

To the coast.

You want to take it to the coast. Interesting.

Why?

That's all. Just interesting.

Why is that interesting?

Isn't it?

But why?

I just, these are this is new information. I'm learning.

Let's do it. Let's take it to the beach.

Okay.

Let's buy it. Let's go to the beach.

And then what do we do when we get there?

Hang out on the beach.

Well, right.

Go ahead.

What do you want me to say?

I want you to say

what you've been saying to me for the past month and a half. I want a boat. Is that is that what you want me to say? But do.

And you have found one.

I have.

And you won't stop looking at it. I'm not going to talk about words. Okay.

Being sold or something. I need to show you something.

Okay.

Because I think I'm just trying to figure out how to do like uh how on Google Maps do you go back in time? Do you know how to do that?

I don't.

I'm gonna have to figure this out. Um I think I have you have to do it in street view. So I'm gonna pull something up here because your question is where are you gonna put that? And that's a good question. I have an answer.

What is your answer?

Let me show you.

Well, you said you were gonna put it on the side of the

house, which is fine, that that's where our trailer is. So every time you want to bring out the boat, you're gonna have to move the trailer. So this is our house before we lived there. This is from 2008.

Okay.

Look back here. What do you see?

No, I know. I live there.

No, no, no. This isn't this isn't this before we live there.

Look what's behind the gate. A boat.

A boat. I know it'll fit.

Okay, but Josh.

Because the previous owner had a boat back there. And I understand we have the trailer parked. I get it. And so I'm gonna have to figure out some logistics here.

Yeah.

Isn't that interesting, though? There was a boat already there. Anyway, so I know I can fit a boat. I just got a figure it out.

Uh-huh. You do.

In 2008, the tree in our front yard was quite small. It's a huge tree.

I know you took it away. I want to go back and look at.

Yeah.

Who lived there? Like I want to look

at

our neighbor's house. all this stuff is gone.

Look how small the tree is.

It's teeny.

This fence is gone.

Yeah.

Look how level this is. Like that gate looks real straight and level. Looks really good. Look how green the grass is. Like that's a well-manicured lawn.

Yeah.

It's all flat. Pretty cool.

Yeah. We we've done some things for the better, and we've done some things for the worse in the house.

I mean, the sidings changed. The windows are good. The garage door is the same.

The lava rock is gone.

That tree doesn't exist.

Um, okay. Anyway. I

just uh if you ever want to see your house back in time, you can. Uh in 2008, before we bought it, we we moved in six years after that, 2014, right?

Uh-huh.

Or

2012. Emory was two.

So it would have been 2012. We moved in in 2012. Uh cool.

Um, Okay, but you want to put a boat where a boat was.

Yeah. But I guess.

But again, they'll say anytime

you want to get the boat out, you're gonna have to move the trailer. Yeah, I'm gonna figure something out.

And we also have a curb. It's not a it's not an R V pad.

I know. I'm gonna figure something out.

I know you are. I know you are because that's what you

do.

You figure stuff out.

No, I don't have a boat. Let's be clear. Like I don't have it yet.

I know, and I am not. I often say that our relationship works because you are the dreamer and I am the realist.

Sure.

And we keep each other grounded a lot of the times. And I probably wouldn't have anything if it weren't for you being like, no, let's do this.

And I go, no, no, no, no.

And you go, we got it. And then we get it, and I go, I don't know why I was so stressed out about having that. So I'm not trying to rain on your parade when you say, I want a boat, and I go, you don't have anywhere to put it.

No, I I don't feel rained on rained upon at all.

Okay.

I'm just trying to figure out what how to logistically do it. Because I can't just have it sit in the front yard. That's ridiculous. I gotta figure it out.

There are places you can rent to store stuff.

Do we want to do that?

If if that's the only option we have, then that's the only option we have.

Yeah.

Otherwise, we pay a lot of money.

Right. But

get a concrete. pad. But would it be, Well, that still doesn't solve the whole issue because the trailer's still in front of the boat. No, I'm saying on the other side.

Oh, the other side. The other side.

Who you've already talked to the neighbor.

I know.

And he would also go in and have sees on a concrete.

Probably would.

Because he's got stuff to store too.

True. Even if we did gravel, it doesn't necessarily have to be concrete.

That's true.

Yeah. But

then your boat's just out and then in the elements.

I guess it would be on the other side too. Right. I would prefer to

have

covered storage. Yeah. I'm going to have to think about that.

You don't even have a boat yet.

You're right. I don't have a boat.

I said yet. Did you hear that?

You did. I heard you say yet. I heard that.

That's because this is how you get what you want. Is you you're like a little kid.

You just talk about it and talk about it and talk about it.

I think you're going to like it. I think you're going to enjoy going on a float.

I think it's I think you're going to enjoy being in a boat. With a little sandwich, little cucumber sandwiches. You're going to like it.

Who's making the cucumber sandwiches?

I'll make them.

Okay. All right. The second you get a boat.

Cucumber sandwiches. Okay. This is uh an interesting thing that's kind of going around the internet. Um, and it's just talking about how in general humans are obsessed with rectangles.

I'm just looking around and I see everything in this room is a rectangle.

Yeah.

I mean, there's a couple of squares.

But

computer monitor, rectangle, cleenex box, rectangle, control board, rectangle, individual sliders, rectangle, keyboard, rectangle. Computer itself. Everything.

Everything's rectangles.

TV rectangle, speakers, rectangle, rectangle, rectangle, rectangle, rectangle. Everything's rectangle. Clock, circle.

Hey, whoa.

Look what you found. Rectangle.

Window indoor rectangle. So here's the thing. Maybe it's because not just because we like them. I think it's easier to manufacture, uh, which is a point that is brought up online. When you build, pack, and store things, it's easier if they're rectangles or cubes.

Yes.

Uh both of them, they fit flush against each other without wasting any floor or shelf space. If everything was circular, you'd have gaps between everything. Um

it rolls around. Potentially, yeah. Um it also says that straight edges are much simpler to measure, cut, mass produce, and assemble than curved or organic shapes. Um brains process information and text inside a rectangular frame, books, TVs, phones, all of that. Lower cognitive load because it's all rectangles. We've just been accustomed to rectangles our entire life. Well, I'm

a serial box behind you, rectangle, window, rectangle.

Your lunch bag, rectangle,

slats on the uh blinds, rectangle.

I'm gonna start just decorating everything in hexagon. Okay.

Picture frame, hexagon, photo, hexagon, chair,

hexagon. Okay.

Okay. Because you're not.

No, no, because I can't find anything hexagon shaped. It's all rectangle shaped.

Everything is your house, rectangle. Everything. Everything is a rectangle. This room, a rectangle. You walk through a rectangular door, you look out a rectangular window, you work at a rectangular desk, you spend half the day looking at rectangular screens.

Garbage can rectangle.

It's just crazy, isn't it?

Everything's rectangles.

And when you start looking at the world for what it is, and it's all rectangles, what does that mean?

What does it mean?

Nothing. It just means that everything is the way that it is, and it happens to be rectangular.

Stop lights have circles in them.

Sure, but what's the overall shape?

Rectangle. Stop signs aren't rectangle.

What do you drive? A rectangle on three circles. Three?

Three?

Four circles. Three. Yeah. Every car is a tricycle.

My car's not a rectangle. It's more of a square.

Because it's it's longer than it is wide. It's a rectangle. So everything's rectangles.

It sure is.

This button's a square.

Is there anything more to say about it?

Or just no, it's just the way around.

It's just it is just a weird thing. Notice all of the rectangles in your life.

If you spend time looking at it, you're the more and more you look at it, the more you go, everything's a rectangle. Everything.

And that is a strange thing. Strange.

Yeah. And that's it. That's all I have to say about it. It's just that something I noticed on the internet. People were talking about it, and I went, you know.

Everything is a rectangle. Unless it's not, in which case it's another shape. High five all the other shapes. Yeah.

Say

hey, buddy.

Triangle. Where are you at?

We have nothing triangle in here.

Bridges. That's where you'll find your triangles. Triangles out there doing the heavy lifting.

Literally.

That's right. Meanwhile, cylinders over there, like I hold soup.

That's the best kind of shape. Cylinder. The one that holds soup.

Yeah.

Yum. I posted a

video

on Friday of me in a little um hat.

That's right. That's exactly what it was.

You in a hat. Yep. And I said, try and guess what you think my Halloween costume is going to be. And I got a lot of comments. A lot of train conductor comments.

Yes.

There was newsy, uh, taxi driver.

I liked Chantel with a hat. That's a good answer.

Fisherman, one of the village people, a lot of Mario or Luigi, but the hat was blue, not red or green. Okay, these were all good guesses. Yeah.

I said guess. Make a guess.

Uh a lot of police officers.

Yeah.

Somebody said Oliver.

Which was a good guess.

That was a good guess.

And Anastasia was also a good guess. Yes.

There were maybe three who guessed the right answer. And the right answer was five O'Mauskowits.

Five old mouse goetz.

Five old.

The lost little mouse.

From an American tale.

And you did really good. You wore it Saturday to the Great Pumpkin Drop at Stones Kia.

Yep.

So some folks might have gotten to see it. Um, and you're also that's your Halloween costume for this year.

Yeah.

Proud of you.

I'm proud of you because you're the one who made my ears.

Well, okay, fine. But I don't have a costume.

No, you do not.

And I kind of need one for this weekend. It's Halloween. So I'm gonna need uh to get that solved.

What would you like to be?

Dressed up for Halloween.

Uh what I liked the most about this costume was I spent $20 on a red sweater.

Yep.

I bought the hat. I think I got the hat for like 10 bucks.

Okay. And then you did the you put the button and the ribbon on it yourself.

I glued a button on it.

We bought some felt for the ears, which was maybe five bucks worth of felt.

Yeah.

So no big deal on

the felt.

Yeah.

So like $35, $40 tops on this costume.

And it's cute.

And it's cute.

And you get a little mouse nose and some whiskers going.

And it's really good.

You did have one person tell you that they thought you looked like Chucky Cheese. And then we looked up a picture of Chucky Cheese, and you look nothing like Chuck E. Cheese. Charles Edward Cheese.

The kid who told me that was also dressed up as Spider-Man, and I said, Don't you need to be out solving crime?

He doesn't solve crimes. He fights crimes.

Well he's

not a detective.

And he said, No, I'm here to eat the candy.

And I went, Well, you're the worst Spider-Man I've always seen. Whoa, whoa. That's not true at all.

I'm just kidding. was It was cute. Thank you for helping me make the ears.

You're welcome. I'm glad they turned out.

I didn't know what I was gonna do. And then you said, Let me let's do this. And then you handled it like a boss.

I can I can sew some ears. This is now the third set of ears I've had to sew.

This is the second year in a row I've been a mouse for Halloween.

I don't think I think I was two years ago.

I think you're right.

You're a gadget hack wrench two years ago.

I think you're right.

Yeah.

Gadget hack wrench from Chip and Dales.

Rescue Rangers. And now Little Five O'Mouse Quits. Pop. You put me in charge of would you rather this or that earlier this morning because you thought it would be hard for me?

No, I didn't think it was gonna be hard for you.

I think that you were you thought it would be a challenge for me.

You said that it's Halloween week.

And then you were mocking me for having Halloween-themed would you rather for the whole month? Yeah. You were like, it's October. Halloween!

Yeah.

Well, now it's Halloween week. So here's a spooky. Would you rather this or that?

Go. Say.

Would you rather be trapped in a corn maze that changes every time you turn around?

Oh no, laugh.

Or lost in a fog so thick you can't see your hand.

Oh no. Oh no. What's the weather like in the corn maze?

Fall.

I know, but is it raining? Is it Is it windy?

Sometimes. probably snowing? Maybe. Oh no. It's fall.

Is it dark in the corn maze? Like, is it nighttime?

Maybe.

Am I there alone?

When do you typically go to a corn maze?

In the dusk.

Okay, so yep. It's that. It's in the dust.

Am I alone?

You're in the husk in the dusk.

Stupid. Am I alone?

Yes, in both instances.

No. Uh I'm gonna say the corn maze.

Why?

How long am I trapped in there for?

Until you get out.

Oh no. Ugh. These are both horrible. I hate both of these. I hate being trapped and lost. What are you picking?

You haven't said why you picked corn.

Because at least I'll be able to see in a corn maze. You say lost in a fog so thick I can't even see my hand.

Right.

At least in a corn maze, I won't feel quite so trapped.

I agree. I I think there's a lot of

claustrophobia in the fog so thick you can't see your hand. Agreed.

Even though you're free to roam about and you can breathe and everything else, that is scary.

It's very scary. And you don't know what's ahead of you, and you don't know what's behind you.

Right. Yeah.

I like the ability to be able to see a little bit more.

It would be lit in the fog, but everything would just be white foggy.

Yeah.

So yeah, I'm I'm going corn maze. Because at least but I'm also I go in the day because I'm a genius. I like to be able to see where I'm going. And I'm gonna figure out every time you turn around, you you the the maze changes. So as long as I'm moving forward, everything's gonna be okay. I just can't make a wrong turn.

This is why I want to be with you in the corn maze.

No way. Oh would you rather this or that?

You sent me a text on Friday afternoon. We both get done at three on Fridays, and you sent me the nicest little text. You said I want to go and get a coffee. It was a little bit chilly and rainy.

Yeah.

And you said I want to go and get a coffee and some pastry and sit across from you and look at you and laugh. Right.

And then I had to specify after I read it, I said, with you, not at you. I don't want to like sit there and laugh at you. Like once I reread it, I went, that might sound mean. Can I just go sit and laugh at you?

I just want to sit across from

you and look at you and laugh

at you.

No, I just wanted to have like a nice little uh escape. And we did. We did.

It was awesome.

And it was nice, and we did laugh. And we had we actually hung out well after we'd finished our donut and drinks.

Yeah, we did.

We were just chilling, having a good time.

It was nice.

It was.

It was a nice little date.

Yeah, it was it's not often I get to see you. And so I take advantage of those times.

I did read something somewhere that said you need to have a date with your spouse or your partner. Um, where you don't talk about your jobs, you don't talk about your kids.

Right. And

so

I tried really hard not to do that.

And we didn't.

Good job. I think on the drive over there, I had a complaint about my job. Yeah.

And I said, okay, and that's it, I'm done. And then we're not doing that. And then we didn't.

I don't usually talk about work unless you ask. So that wasn't an issue for me. It was pretty okay. It was cute.

It was a cute day.

Well, I'm glad that you said yes.

Because if you would have been like, no, I'm too busy, that would have been a bummer. And you said there's this new coffee place, and they have London fog.

Which is one of your favorites.

Dude, London fog. So good.

And you have one in town that you just love love. How did this one compare?

This one was not, I would say it wasn't it wasn't as sweet

as the one that I normally get.

I'll I'll just say it. Great harvest is the best London fog.

Okay.

This one was good. Yeah.

It's it was a really close second, but I think they put more honey.

I don't know if this other place puts honey in theirs.

But is that something you could add?

Could you say with extra honey? Probably.

You

should just try that. London fog is my

It's

favorite. It's like a comfy

cozy

treat. What

are you doing?

You're like hugging yourself. Yeah, it's so yum. Cosy.

Okay. I

want to drink a London fog in the London fog.

Oh. Interesting.

Yeah.

Let's go.

Okay.

Book that trip.

It's just my. London has London fog tea.

No, they're like, no, that's a good idea.

Yeah, it's like that's not a thing. We just we just have a couple of things.

We just have a normal, yeah, normal kappa, and then you move on with your day. Thank you for stopping by.

Quit being so American, you weirdo.

Yeah, what? London fog, never heard of it. It's like when you go to France and you're like, can I have French fries? And they're like, we call them fries here.

Okay, what about French toast? Can I have that?

And I go, what are you talking about? And that hat you're wearing, that's just a beret. Not a French beret.

We wee.
