Pastor Fredo Ramos:

Psalm 113. Praise the Lord. Yes. Give praise, o servants of the Lord. Praise the name of the Lord.

Pastor Fredo Ramos:

Blessed be the name of the Lord now and forever. Everywhere from east to west, praise the name of the Lord. For the Lord is high above the nations. His glory is higher than the heavens. Verse five, who can be compared with the Lord our God?

Pastor Fredo Ramos:

Who is enthroned on high? He stoops to look down on heaven and on earth. He lifts the poor from the dust, the needy from the garbage dump. He sets them among princes, even the princes of his own people. He gives the childless woman a family, making her a happy mother.

Pastor Fredo Ramos:

Praise the Lord. Psalm one thirteen begins with this invitation, this prayer that says, let's praise God. Lift up his name. Consider how amazing he is. There was no one like him.

Pastor Fredo Ramos:

He is lifted high above all the heavens. And then it says there that this God who is so high, so up there, so lofty, stoops down and sees us. This is a prayer in which we're reminded of God's ability to see those who are unimportant or seemingly unimportant. You have the poor mentioned, those who live amongst the garbage, the needy in the garbage. And it says that God is able to not only just look down on their state, but transform them into a place of royalty.

Pastor Fredo Ramos:

Someone who goes from the streets to the throne room. That's what God is able to do. The the woman who's able to, or I should say unable to have any children has now become a happy mother of all kinds of children. In other words, her family has transformed. One in which she had a physical family that had no kids to a spiritual family, right, full of children to see this is the power of God, who even in his high place is able to stoop down and see those who are unimportant.

Pastor Fredo Ramos:

And what an opportunity for us maybe to locate ourselves in the midst of today and to be reminded of the beatitude of Jesus where he said, blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth. The word meek there literally means the unimportant, the socially powerless, those who are easily overlooked for they will receive and inherit the entire earth. Psalm one thirteen is a prayer that pictures that promise that in God's kingdom, the unimportant are seated in places of royalty. And so as you consider the feelings that you have that maybe you're unimportant, be reminded of the transformational power of God in your life today. And Jesus, we hear you now inviting us to respond in prayer to maybe name the parts of our lives that feel unimportant.

Pastor Fredo Ramos:

And would you help us now by faith to see how you are at work in those places? Maybe we feel like that. Maybe that's a part of our story. Maybe that's the story of people we know God. Those who are on the outside of the powerful, those who are overlooked by, others who are climbing the ladder.

Pastor Fredo Ramos:

But God, we recognize in this moment of prayer that despite how high up you are, you still see those who are easily overlooked and you stoop down to save them. And so would we live with that hope today, we pray in Jesus name, amen.
