Therapy and Theology

Summertime is a season for sunshine, long days, and making memories with the people closest to us.

But let’s be honest — more time together doesn’t always mean more connection. It could create more tension. And sometimes that’s because we can no longer ignore red flags that are now staring us in the face.

Whether you’re single, dating, married, or navigating complicated family dynamics — we're diving into it all this summer.

In Season 9, Lysa, Jim, and Joel will help you learn:
  • What is a red flag?
  • What are some red flags to be aware of?
  • Is every red flag a big deal?
  • How to respond to red flags you may notice in yourself.
  • How to navigate red flags in family relationships.

What is Therapy and Theology?

Have you ever looked at a situation you’re facing in utter disbelief and thought, "How will I ever get over this?" Lysa TerKeurst understands. After years of heartbreak and emotional trauma, she realized it’s not about just getting over hard circumstances but learning how to work through what she has walked through. Now, she wants to help you do the same. That’s why Lysa teamed up with her personal, licensed professional counselor, Jim Cress, alongside the Director of Theological Research at Proverbs 31 Ministries, Dr. Joel Muddamalle, to bring you "Therapy & Theology." While Lysa, Jim and Joel do tackle some really hard topics, you’ll soon find they're just three friends having a great conversation and learning from each other along the way.

Shea Hill: Summertime is a season for sunshine, long days, and making memories with the people closest to us. But if we're honest, more time together doesn't always mean more connection. Sometimes it creates more tension, and that could be because we're no longer able to ignore the red flags that are now staring us in the face in these relationships. Friends, here on Therapy and Theology, we're not here to create any fear. We want to give you the tools you need to navigate what you've already been sensing.

Whether you're single, dating, married, or navigating complicated family dynamics, this summertime mini-series on red flags is for you. This season will include episodes from Lisa, Jim, and Joel, plus some new friends and some special guests. Together, they'll speak to questions like, what is a red flag? What are some red flags I should be aware of? And is every red flag a big deal?

What if I'm noticing red flags in myself? What about red flags in my family? I can't just cut out those relationships. Here on Therapy Theology, you may have heard us say before, we're not gonna tell you what to think, but we're gonna give you a lot to think about, and this summer is no different. You don't have to keep walking on eggshells.

You don't have to keep pretending everything's fine. Let's name the red flags, get some language and support, and take the next step towards self-awareness and wholeness. Episode one of the summer mini-series drops next week, so make sure you're subscribed, and we'll see you back here then.
