Which gave away 1 of the fairly major plot points as some recorded it with their phone when they weren't supposed to and posted it. But I think Conor McGregor's in it as, like, the bad guy.

My wife has to do that sort of thing, and she hates it.

He said it's replica 12 foot towers that pay tribute to the 343 firefighters who died, which had been etched into the towers. It also has a piece of the tower within the window of remembrance. You could reach in and touch it like a real piece of the tower, and then kinda close your eyes. Just kinda ASMR it. Feel the thermite.
Dan McDowell:
It has red and orange lights to represent the fire that consume most of the lives that day. The sidewalk is pentagon shaped to subtly this is according to their website, subtly include the Pentagon's involvement on that fateful day.
Jake Kemp:
Yeah. I'll say they had

some involvement. And then he says I don't know if this is a, tie in. He says, more importantly, in Wiley, there is a house at the address of 911 Memorial Drive. If it wasn't a house, it would be a great address for Dragon Den Productions. And then he sends a Zillow link so you could actually find.

But I and I'll be totally honest about a lot of stuff. And we're gonna talk about being in the courtroom, and we'll we'll talk about, you know, what happened, behind the scenes with the lawyers and all that kind of stuff. But I got nothing but, you know, the the the reason we stayed there in the past, like, when Bob and Dan were getting offers elsewhere, was the people. You know? And that was the real draw for staying there now.

Other, you know, factors got thrown in. It's funny when I was thinking last night about the a couple couple big moments in time where had a big decision to make. Both of the times, I took the 1 that is way less advantageous monetarily for me

And then let's take you to the Luca postgame. I think just play it from the beginning. I think the first thing is is not to McMahon, but it leads it. It gives you context of what happened here.

Yeah. It's a disaster, and I think that it was pretty clear at the start of the season that they were putting up a little bit of a mirage by beating bad teams. They're kind of just rotten as a roster, and their coach is doing nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Dan McDowell:
We don't have to play him. A lot of his is, you know, regular if there's anything that really stood out, I'll play it. But but a lot of the similar stuff of Jason Kidd, passive aggressively throwing Nico under the bus by saying, what do you I mean, this is the roster we have. This is what we you know, you see, and they're just tired. They're I mean, I can only do so much.
Dan McDowell:
And, you know, I mean, maybe injuries will you know? If we stay healthy, maybe. I mean but, I mean, because no team stays perfectly healthy.
Jake Kemp:
Right.
Dan McDowell:
But he's basically saying, if we stay perfectly healthy, then possibly we have a shot.
Jake Kemp:
Because otherwise, I just got all these minimum guys. I mean, he actually said that. Like, I got guys on minimums. Right. And they're having to play big roles.
Jake Kemp:
And so, yeah, it's it's, it's definitely a a complete 180 from Carlisle where even when we didn't buy it, Carlisle would just eat all of it for the players, for the roster, for whatever. He would just, you know, shield everybody and say, I gotta I gotta get it the team better prepared. I gotta have better plans. We need to practice a little bit differently, and kids are just constantly like, what do you want me to do? Yeah.

Like, what do I'm just the coach. I'm just the coach.
Dan McDowell:
Like, he he wouldn't say that when it when it comes to, you know, Luca's frustration or Luca's t, technicals, and it's well, I mean, yeah. I don't know. You tell me.

And funny enough, actually, the first time I ever had a conversation with someone about Luca, it was pretty early in the year that they before they drafted him. Because it was obvious that that team was ass cheeks.

And I was talking to Demaris about it, and he knows a bunch of guys, like, overseas. And he's like, yeah. There's everybody's sour on this guy. Like, he just he he doesn't take care of himself. He, you know, he's too emotional.

Like, his first intel was not that different from what we made fun of Gambo for saying. So it's not entirely wrong. I mean, this has been a problem his entire career. And most of the greats are not quite that emotional. Like, LeBron's had a fan kicked out.

Yeah. But it just seems like, you know, sometimes the emotion just runs too hot. And the problem is is that part of what makes him great, like we talked about for years with, like, Des. So you gotta find that perfect line.

And I I as I was driving over here this morning that's a that's Dez is exactly who I thought of because and Tio was another 1 where as I'm watching the game I find myself just hoping like, please Des, don't get mad. Please, T. O, don't call for the ball. And now it's just watching Luca with 5 seconds left in the half just literally stand there, not fight for the ball.

And whether you just tweaked your ankle or not, I mean, he just didn't care at all and then gets a tech walking off the court. Yeah. Like it's becoming, like, just unbearable where I love the guy and we hear about how cool he is off the court, but on the court I'm just kind of tired of this emotional battle of I love this guy and I'm beginning to hate this guy too.

That's where I disagree that Kidd is not the team psychiatrist. That's what he was brought in to do. He was brought in for Luca.

In the postgame press conference, he's like, man, these guys just gotta understand how Michael Jordan and Karl Malone and and, the he's saying stuff that doesn't relate to the players at all. Like, how about you?
Dan McDowell:
You were in this is why you were brought in. It's what Rick Carlisle and they always say, you know, the scrub players make better coaches in the long run because they relate to more of the the roster. And they figure out if they can figure out how to you know, Phil Jackson was a scrub player. Carlisle was a scrub player. Steve Kerr, role player.
Dan McDowell:
Yeah. Yeah. Not necessarily scrub, but so, you know, Jason Kidd was a superstar. And that the theory was we're bringing him in another superstar point guard who had to learn how the refs work, how the league works, how to mesh with other superstar teammates. And I feel like he's failed in his mission was to, you know, maximize Luca.
Jake Kemp:
Yeah. It's a very weird situation because I don't even really know who's in charge. Like, Cuba doesn't even really own the team anymore, which I still don't know that we've wrapped our head around. You know, I guess he's gonna they say he's gonna control basketball ops, but

I heard, I was listening to House of Strauss, and he mentioned he actually still owns more of the team than is it Joe Latham? Latham? What's the Golden State guy's name?

And and you always think of that guy as that's the owner.

I do know they have a bunch of tech investors, even, like, you know, the guy who is in charge of Oracle.

I think this whole thing was just thrown together, and that's why they have a superstar that at times can be petulant is because nobody's checking him. They don't have I mean, obviously, like, you've seen little flare ups and the like in Miami on the sideline, but when that happens, Spo will get in somebody's ass. And he knows that, Pat Riley will support him no matter what.
Jake Kemp:
That's why they just signed him to a 8 year insane contract. The Mavs have nothing of the sort when it comes to that type of backbone of an organization. They just don't. So if you already have a player that's kind of emotional and needs some direction and it's not there, it's just gonna get worse. And then it seems like sometimes the rest of the team feeds off of him in his negativity and his moments because now Grant Williams wants to fight.
Jake Kemp:
Yeah. And he's getting ejected.

That's about the only thing he's good at these days.

Yeah. That's been horrible. It's been really, really bad. Really bad. Started out super positive for about 6 games.
