Charted

What is Charted?

Like a master surveyor, Jesus gives us clear directions to find a fulfilling, purpose-filled relationship with Himself - a map to the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Charted is a daily devotional written by the junior class at Fountainview Academy (Class of 2019). Based on the book Steps to Christ, this book explores the path to the Originator and Provider of Genuine Joy. We don't have to be confused about the way. The certainty is in the journey: divinely Charted.

Through transgression the sons of man become subjects of Satan.
Through faith in the atoning sacrifice of Christ the sons of Adam may
become the sons of God. By assuming human nature, Christ elevates
humanity. Fallen men are placed where, through connection with
Christ, they may indeed become worthy of the name “sons of God.”

Imagine this: You are headed to work and need to fill your car
up up with gas. You pull over at the gas pump and grab your credit
card as you get out of the car. After inserting the card to pay, the
machine gives you an error message: “The transaction could not be
completed.”
You try to pay inside, but it still will not work. You have some
spare cash, so you pay with that and forget about the incident.
However, the next time you use your credit card, the same thing
happens. You contact the credit card company, and they inform
you that several sizeable online purchases you have recently made
have cashed out your card, but you know you did not make those
purchases.
Identity theft—It’s a rapidly growing and hard to deal with
crime. No one is absolutely secure. People everywhere are afraid
of waking up one morning to find that there is another them running
around. With digital methods of payment and online banking, it’s
relatively easy for an identity thief to use your identity to access
virtually anything they desire.
Satan doesn’t just want to steal your identity; he wants to
totally obliterate your identity. He desires to create emptiness and
insecurity by breaking the relationship between you and your Father
in Heaven. He wants to distract you with finding an identity in things,
people, or fame, but you don’t have to fall for his lies. Nothing can
define you unless you let it. When you accept Jesus as your personal
Saviour and friend, you become part of God’s family. It is then that you
can be sure of your identity: a child of the heavenly King.
