The Noon Hour Of Madness & Mayhem can be heard live on KBEAR 101 weekdays at 12pm MST. Viktor and Peaches talk about a wide variety of topics depending on the day and you never know what to expect!
[upbeat jazz music] The noon hour of Madness and Mayhem, the podcast.
Well, typical, typical liberal move from Victor Wilt.
Oh.
Getting out of work early because he's got the ickies, Jeff.
Oh, no.
He's got the, uh... He's got, he's been having these stomach issues for the past couple of days.
Welcome to everyday life.
Do you have stomach issues every single day?
Not every day, but-
I was gonna say, me and you are following, uh, similar diets, and I wanna make sure that I'm doing the best for my system. So if, if y- if y- if yours is messing you up, dude, we gotta talk about this.
No, no, n- I mean, uh, you know, sometimes, n- enough medications, your stomach just does some wonky things.
Y- y- you barely eat anything from what you've told me.
I try.
Y- so you try? Why?
[laughs] Well, I mean, I do protein shakes in the morning-
Right
... and for lunch, and then keep it simple for dinner, like salad with some chicken on it, maybe a little bit of fish.
I've been, uh, DoorDashing a lot of my food, and my front door is very hard to find for these DoorDash drivers. So I'll watch the little car icon on the, on the app-
Yeah
... just kind of go around my building. Sometimes they'll go to, like, the street behind me, then they'll come back around and then walk around my building a couple of times. I'm usually in my room that's in the far back with my computer when I order this stuff, and I'll have my window open, and I'll see somebody walking outside my window on the grass-
Oh, boy
... with my food. [laughs] And, uh, well, there's been a few times where I've had to go, "Hey, hey, no, no. Around this way. Come on." And they, they finally get it.
I get it. If I DoorDash, I have to leave instructions, "It's this building in the apartment complex."
Why do they make it so confusing?
I don't know, but I can't tell you how many times my food has gone to the wrong apartment.
Dude, I can't imagine living in one of those buildings where you're on, like, the third floor-
Oh, no
... and there's no elevator.
I m- I've done that before. It's not the, the best thing in the world.
My friends Bryson and Charlotte, they live on the third floor, and-
It's good exercise every day.
It, it is. It, it is. And y- they also have a great view of the, uh, the pool house, plus they also have a great view of Snake River Landing, which-
Oh, there you go
... I will be watching the Melaleuca Freedom Celebration at this year's Idaho Falls Community Hospital Riverfest presented by ICCU and Riverbend Media Group from their balcony.
And then you can take a nap afterwards and wait for traffic to clear out.
Yeah, I was thinking about spending the night over there.
There you go.
Just bring my CPAP with me.
[laughs]
Be like, "Hey, uh, I won't snore, but you'll hear this white noise."
Y- you're gonna hear a weird machine.
Yeah, I'm hoping to lose enough weight to where they go, "Hey, you no longer have sleep apnea." But then,
but then I also feel like I'm gonna be paranoid beyond belief, thinking that all of a sudden I'll gain some of that weight back,
and it'll start to happen again, and I don't have the CPAP anymore, and then my heart goes back into AFib, and all of this stuff.
You just gotta stay motivated.
I wanna shock the doctors the next time I go there. They're like, "Dude, what is happening?" Be like, "Dude, I've been, I've been on that grind."
I've been hitting it.
I've been trying to do 10,000 to 15,000 steps a day.
That is so many steps.
It, it's a lot. I, I, I realized that [laughs] after doing it for a straight week, where I'm like, "Dude, okay." Yesterday was a rest day for me. Well, y- yesterday was not necessarily a rest day because-
But it wasn't a big day
... we had meetings, and I had two appointments. I had to leave here early. I had to do best ofs for the afternoon show on KBEAR-
Yeah
... uh, because of this, the, the amount of stuff that I had to do. And then r- literally right as I laid down, right as I get home, m- I, my friend Bryson calls me, "Hey, do you wanna come over and go in the hot tub?"
Well, yeah.
Of course.
Duh.
Duh. Yeah. [laughs]
Don't ask stupid questions.
Right. So went there right after, right afterwards. Um, I had a Walmart pickup order that I wait before that. So they, uh, drop off the, the, the food that I ordered, like all the blueberries and mini cucumbers. They're called mini cukes, which I feel like that's a bad word to say.
[laughs]
I feel like it's almost like a, it's almost like a slur. [laughs] It's almost like a bad thing.
If you said it quick enough, somebody might mistake it for one.
Mini cucumbers. I dip those in hummus.
You know, y- you're gonna eat multiple mini cucumbers, why not just get a big cucumber and eat the whole thing?
And just make eye contact the entire time with you-
Oh, yeah
... while I'm eating it?
Like FaceTime somebody, "Hey-
[laughs]
"... I'm eating a cucumber."
But they messed up my Walmart pickup order, and they gave me somebody else's, like, Prime drinks and cat food.
Oh. Well, the cat food you could do without.
Uh, uh, so, but my friends have cats, so I'm like, "Okay, I'll... Bryson and Charlie-
[laughs]
"... I'll just give them the cat food." I show up with the Prime 'cause I can't have that either. It has sucralose in it. That messes my system up.
Oh.
So I, I show up to their, their place with this stuff, and the, the driver calls me, full on terrified, "Uh, hi, this is, uh, so-and-so. Uh, could you please, um,
uh, give me back, uh, this guy's order?" That has, it had his name on the stuff too.
They can't do that.
Well, I, I, I was nice enough to be like, "Hey, hey, dude, um, I'm at this place right now. Stop by. I'll bring the stuff out to you." And sure enough, I did.
Oh.
Helped him out.
Yeah, they're not supposed to do that. They have to go get new stuff.
Well, luckily I didn't say the guy's name on the air, and-
[laughs]
... I'm hoping I don't get charged for that stuff, otherwise I'll be livid.
You should. [upbeat jazz music]
Jeff, have you, have you ever been to FanX in Salt Lake City?
Yeah.
Uh, have you s- have you met anybody famous there?
Never.
You, you've never paid the money to have a meet and greet with one of those people?
Nope.
[laughs].
Not gonna do it.
Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills is gonna be there this year.
Yeah, that'd be cool.
And so is, uh, Jerry Trainor, who's Crazy Steve from Drake & Josh.
Yeah.
Uh, Spencer from iCarly. Uh,
they just announced... The reason why I'm talking about this is because we just played Shot in the Dark from Ozzy. Uh, Jack Osbourne is going to be at FanX this year.
Ah, he'd be cool to meet.
Really? Yeah, I th- I think so too. I feel like if we were able to get somehow media passes for that convention-
Ooh, you should try
... and just- Have them record a whole bunch of liners for the station and also Peaches Pit Party.
Yeah, that'd be awesome.
Be like, "Jack, I know you're trying to take, uh, an AI version of your dad around the United States to, in order to make some extra money. Um, could you record this liner for me, please?" [laughs]
Both with you and him.
Oh, yeah. "Hi, this is AI Ozzy." [laughs] Could you imagine?
[laughs]
We-
Somebody's gonna get mad about that.
Well, of, of, of course. I mean, could you imagine if, like, we just started adding, like... Uh, 'cause I know Eleven Labs has certain celebrity voices that you can get.
Yeah, they don't-
Like Michael Caine-
... sound good
... and John Wayne.
[laughs]
Imagine if a, "Hi, this is AI John Wayne. You're listening to K-Bear 101." [laughs]
[laughs] I think it'd be funny.
[laughs] Well, we do already add ridiculous celebrities in these. Like, th- there was one that I really wanted to add, but we were afraid that people would get upset that we, we included this leftist president. Um,
it goes, "Hi, this is Barack Obama." [laughs]
[laughs]
And it's on the, it's on the site to download. I'm like, what if we just had like, "Hi, this is James from Metallica. Hi, this is Barack Obama." [laughs] And, "Hi, this is, this is so and so. You're listening to K-Bear."
Just slip it in there. Nobody'll notice.
Well, we have Kylie Jenner, uh, endorsing K-Bear. Or not endorsing K-Bear, but she goes, "Hi, this is Kylie." [laughs]
[laughs]
We have Ryan Seacrest in one of them, and his microphone sounds awful. We have a whole bunch of ridiculous ones. I think we have Doja Cat in one of them.
Those are the best ones, though.
You have, we have to be weird around here.
They get people's attention.
Yeah, absolutely. And it's always great when an artist messes up. I, I love my intro that I have with, uh, Scott from Finger Eleven, 'cause he- you're listening to... He, he's like, "You're listening to Pitches, ooh."
Oh. [laughs]
And he, like, he, he just, he g- he l- gets, or he gives out this like, "Ooh," like he's charging up.
Yeah.
And then, you know, Colin from Sleep Theory, he messed his up. It's always funny to get artists that don't necessarily do that kind of thing, 'cause they don't typically get pa- uh, played on radio.
Yeah.
And you have them try doing that, and they can't remember it to, to save their life. And then you get somebody like Chris Jericho, who's been doing that kind of stuff-
Yeah
... for as, longer than I've been alive. And I had him on the show back in 2021 or 2022, and I'm like, "Hey, could you say this?" And he just goes, "You're listening to Peaches, and he's as sweet as he sounds right here-
[laughs]
... on K-Bear 101." I'm like, just out of nowhere.
Just ad-libbed it.
Just ad-libbed it.
Yeah.
I'm like, this is why he's the king on the microphone.
[laughs]
He's awesome. Chris Jericho. We gotta, we gotta get you some interviews as well.
Yeah, let's work on that.
We, we got the Jeff show that happens on the weekends, uh, 10:00 to 3:00, Sa- Saturday.
No, 3:00 to 8:00.
Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I, I forgot that, uh, Maddie D- from down the hall.
Yeah.
She's Saturdays on Z103 now.
And she's 10:00 to 3:00.
She's 10:00 to 3:00, and then hopefully she takes over Sunday as well, because it'd be great to have a weekend host on all stations.
Yeah.
What if they just make you do all, all the shows [laughs] for all the weekends on all the stations?
Um-
You're out there going, uh, "Classy 97, better music for a better day."
I could do it.
You c- I, I think you could. The power of... I don't think you can call yourself FJ or Fat Jeff on Classy 97.
I do what I want. [upbeat music]
It's the noon hour of Madness and Mayhem. Um, you have a PlayStation 5, right, Jeff?
I sure do.
Did you see the announcement for today for GTA VI?
I have not seen it yet.
Uh, the cover art has been revealed.
Ooh.
The, uh, pre-orders have been officially announced to start June 25th.
So a week from today?
Yeah, so if you wanna pre-order the game, you can do so starting on June 25th.
We'll see what that costs.
Yeah, yeah, and we'll see. 'Cause if, uh, wasn't it, do they still do the thing where you pay the $5 down, and then pay, you can pay the rest of it once you actually get the game?
You can do that, I think, or you can just pay the whole fee up front.
Right. What, are you the type of guy to just pay the whole thing and then-
If, if I'm gonna pre-order it, I'm just gonna pay for it.
I wonder if it's gonna be like 80 to 100 bucks.
I bet it is.
Yeah.
Most new games are going for 70, 80 bucks now.
Dude, I'm not even, I'm, I'm not buying anything new, uh, especially video games. Like Borderlands 4-
Ooh
... I've been wanting to play that for the longest time.
It's so good.
And it's still like 45 bucks on sale.
It's worth it.
And I'm going, "I'll wait. I'll just keep waiting."
Stop being a cheapskate.
[laughs]
Get the game.
I feel like I'll be the same way if I ever make it to like some massive radio job where I'm making like tons of money. I'll be like, "Okay, well, I'll, I'll still hold onto my iPhone 11-"
It's still working
... and, and never upgrade. [laughs]
Just get a new battery every seven years.
Oh, sure. Sure. Yeah, no, I don't have a gaming console anymore, so GTA VI, like I, I'm afraid I'll have to wait till it comes out on PC and then-
You're going to have to live vicariously through me and Victor.
Well, I did make a joke when I was pre-recording the afternoon show saying I was gonna, um, watch Victor play it from outside his living room window.
[laughs]
It's, it's coming out November 19th, the game, allegedly. Who knows what could happen with that?
It could change.
But there's a company out there called Burger Motorsports that has already said, "Hey, we're giving our entire staff the day off on November 19th in order for them to play this game."
They should probably do that here.
We're not gonna see Victor for a couple of days.
Maybe a week.
Uh, who knows if he'll have the PTO, 'cause he was already talking to me about, uh... Oh, 'cause he took a half day today. Tomorrow, uh, I'm hoping he shows up because there's tons of stuff for me to do tomorrow. L- uh, the last thing I wanna do is host Traffic School powered by The Advocates and then do my two afternoon shows, and then also go to Juice City Vapor in Idaho Falls for our No Beach Beach Bash and be live there from 3:00 to 5:00 PM.
You would have the greatest day ever.
I, I, I feel like I would need some help.
You might get 20 or 30,000 steps in.
I'm, I'm hoping. I'm hoping. I, I ca- I wanna be one of those people that all of a sudden, like you just see in September and you go, "Wow, that's a completely different guy."
I, I, I'm hoping.
It could-
But I've lost 40 pounds so far.
Oh, you're doing great then.
Which doesn't seem ... Uh, it seems like a lot, but when you start at such a high amount, it's like trying to pay off a high debt.
Yeah.
It's like 40 bucks to $10,000. [laughs]
[laughs]
You're like, "Uh, that, that's something, I guess, but we gotta keep ... " There's a, there's a long road ahead. I've been listening to a lot of, uh, David Goggins.
Who is that?
I have ... Oh, you've never heard of David Goggins, dude?
No.
Okay, well, I got ... I'll, I'll educate you off the air.
[upbeat music] Weezer, wrapping up the noon hour of Madness and Mayhem. Jeff, what's a band that you can just not get into?
Ooh. Ooh.
I feel like you have some unique answers for this, uh-
U2's on that list.
U2, okay.
Yeah. Um, they suck.
Th- those-
I, I'm gonna say it. I've said it.
You cannot have a guitarist with the name The Edge and have the lamest guitar solos on the planet. How does that work? The Edge should be, like, one of the most awesome guitarists on the planet, not U2's guitarist.
Hey, who's that guitarist for, uh, Animals As Leaders? Give him that nickname.
Oh, yeah. That guy is so good.
Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
He should be The Edge.
What's funny is that that type of music's not nearly as popular as U2, because U2 is so simple for those, you know, simple-minded people, not even actually listening to the music. They're not embracing it, feeling it, you know? I'm just kidding. [laughs] It's-
South Park nailed Bono to a T. Like, every time I see that episode, it's like, "Yep, that, that's Bono. That's U2." They got it. They figured me out. They know my brain.
For me, dude, it has to be the band we just played. Weezer.
Weezer?
I, I can't stand them.
Ah.
Especially that-
Weezer's got some great stuff
... especially that Buddy Holly song.
What?
That song is terrible.
That is a true American classic.
Just like Buddy Holly.
That is a true American classic.
May we tell you, boy. [laughs] Uh, but we were having this, uh, back and forth last Friday.
Oh, yeah, because it was Sublime day.
Yeah, and I was like, "Dude, get that out of my face."
[laughs]
I, I did, I, I did tell Victor, "Hey, we should add one of the songs off the new album," the one they've been pushing, uh, FTR.
Yeah.
But they've been really, really wanting to just, to just push the single we have been playing called It's, Until the Sun Explodes.
It's a good song.
But I, I did think ... And good news, I did see that Jacob Noel announced that they're no longer gonna be doing music after this p- wh-
What ... He, they, he's been saying that since the beginning.
I, he s- Yeah, y- you're right. He says that until he sees that paycheck.
I don't know. He's got his own band that he's been doing. He wants to do his own thing. I think he was just doing this so people would shut up and leave him alone.
Will he start doing, uh, like what the guy from AWOLNATION did and actually make good music in a different band as a different genre?
I don't know. I, I don't like his other band that much, but that's just me.
AWOLNATION?
No, no. Jacob.
Oh, oh, gotcha, gotcha. Sorry.
It's called Jacob's Castle, and it's just kinda meh.
All right. Well, the guy from-
It c- maybe it'll get better
... the guy from AWOLNATION, he's now in the Barbarians of California, and he's making this, these awesome metal tracks, these awesome p- like, punk style tracks almost. And the one song I've been really, really liking is Vanilla Latte.
[laughs]
I think it's ... I think we should end the noon hour with that song.
You should.
All right. So I'll take out whatever's playing next and, uh, yeah, appreciate you joining, Jeff. Uh, I'm sorry that you have to be, like, the substitute every single time when Victor's not in, 'cause I don't think Victor even grabs you when I'm out. I th-
No, he does it by himself.
Yeah, which I don't like doing.
He'd rather talk to himself. What a weirdo.
Yeah, see, I don't like-
He must be a cat person.
Yeah, he is. He is. I, I hate being the by myself guy in radio. Like, I wanna have, like, the co-host in the afternoons or something.
Yeah, conversation.
It's always fun, you know? It's, it gets people talking and all that. And yeah, the noon hour's my favorite part of the day, and whenever Victor decides to leave, it's like, "Oh, I gotta try to do this by myself." Now, n- luckily we have you.
There's me.
And sometimes Maddie from down the hall.
Yep.
But she's usually busy making graphics, which by the way, I passed by the, the billboard yesterday right by, uh, Culver's.
Yeah.
I don't think they have the noon hour billboard up anymore with my face on it.
What?
They, they changed it with just The Victor Wilt Show. I feel like Woody from Toy Story when he gets replaced by Buzz.
Yeah.
And Buzz, you start seeing all the Buzz decorations everywhere in the room.
We're gonna have to get to the bottom of this.
Yeah, t- yeah. Tell 'em j- I'm gonna go right to Star's office. [upbeat music]
