Compile Swift Podcast

Yep, we have decided that the Podcast has reached a point where we cannot sustain the level of content we like to provide on a regular schedule and have to face the hard truth that we need to call it a day.

A massive thank you to the Patreon supporters, Guests, and listeners.

Peter:

What's up, everybody? Welcome to another episode or the episode of the compulsive podcast. Okay. This is a special one. This is actually going to be the last one.

Peter:

Yep. We have decided. I have decided and and and Geoff agreed, maybe, to make it the last one, and we're gonna explain why. Right? But first of all, let's go back in time, folks.

Peter:

We are on the I think it's a hundred and ninety seventh episode, and I did the first episode back on 06/04/2019. Can you believe that? And and I have been talking complete nut of crap since then. Unbelievable. Right?

Peter:

So that's that's how long we've been doing this. Right? And I say we because I don't wanna be held responsible. But we've been thinking about it. I've been thinking about it.

Peter:

And it's been very difficult to make schedules work because we're both very busy people. And it's also been a struggle to find what we think is compelling content to talk about in subjects because believe it or not, there is a plan, and the plan was always to make it interesting. I know. And I just have felt that we have reached a point where I think we've done it. Right?

Peter:

As far as the the the the Swift ecosystem. I'm not saying Swift is gonna die tomorrow. Let me be very clear. But, you know, there's it's now so mature, and there's only so many things you can talk about beyond what nightmare did you have this week. But, Geoff, buddy, let me start by saying thank you so much for for joining as the cohost on this and and taking part in it.

Peter:

Clearly, as I have said before, the statistics state that everybody likes the episodes with Geoff. And and to be clear, I I should qualify that statement. Of course, I didn't want it to be over, but there's a point at which you feel you've done it. You know what I mean? I just felt like we'd reached a point where we had said what we wanted to say.

Peter:

There's not enough happening to really talk about new stuff. We are never neither of us wanted to be doing episodes where we talk about the latest phone, the latest this, the latest piece of crap or whatever. That is not what the goal was here. And so we just feel that, you know, we've done this, and and and that's where it's at. So I do wanna start by saying, you know, not only thank you to Geoff, but thank you especially to all the Patreon supporters.

Peter:

You you have truly made a difference, really, honestly. You really have. You have you have kept it going, and you've helped keep some of the lights on. So thank you for that. I will be obviously stopping that.

Peter:

Let me be clear, because you're not getting new episodes. But thank you to the Patreon supporters. Massive thank you. And, of course, thank you to all the listeners. I I don't know.

Peter:

Let me have a look and see if I can see. So it's hard to judge how many listeners you have on a podcast, but what I can say actually, I see the numbers now. 192 episodes. What I can say is from beginning to end or beginning to this point, a 130,795 downloads. That is about a 129,000 more than I ever expected to get.

Peter:

So thank you to all the listeners out there. I also wanna thank everybody who has been a guest on this podcast, given us your time and expertise, and taking the time and trouble to come on here, talk with me, listen to my stupid questions, give intelligent answers. Thank you to all of you. There are some fantastic episodes out there. I I will add that I'll probably be continuing my p w podcast.

Peter:

I may change the format of that a bit, but, this was a very subject matter specific one, and and there we go. But, Geoff, where can they find you, buddy?

Geoff:

Everything that I have is at cocoatype.com. Everything else, I'm still planning on keeping on going and yeah. So I'll be over there doing stuff.

Peter:

Well, I think this gives you time back to ship things. Right? That's that's the deal. Now now you have to ship more.

Geoff:

Yeah. I I can't use it as an excuse to not do livestreams anymore.

Peter:

That that's true.

Geoff:

Can't livestream today because we're recording the podcast. Whoops.

Peter:

Yeah. Yeah. Well, you could lie about it. People might believe you. You know?

Peter:

Yeah. Alright. And, of course, you can find me at peterwitham.com. Right? The compile swift name will still exist on all the social networks because practically, that's where everybody knows me from So that's it folks.

Peter:

Have a great one. See you later.
