2025_Frosted Nug_1202_Riley Cote Podcast
[00:00:00] Riley Cote: It's like the old gun safe.
[00:00:01] Dave Lisowski: Yeah, I was just gonna say, lock her down. Lock her down. Yeah. Alcohol. I feel like alcohol. It's so like loose where it's just like so accepted. Yeah. It's just like little Joey got into
[00:00:09] Riley Cote: buy a [00:00:10] whiskey, a couple sips, no big deal. So that
[00:00:12] Dave Lisowski: good you? Yeah. But if you, if you see little Joey, like, you know, brandishing a firearm, you're like.
[00:00:18] Dave Lisowski: Welcome to Unrolled the show [00:00:20] where we unroll the stories, science and culture of cannabis. Whether you're kind of curious or connoisseur, you're in the right place. Let's get into it. Dude, before, before you came in, we were just, [00:00:30] we were yapping about like, um, everything going on with like hemp and stuff like that.
[00:00:34] Dave Lisowski: And it's just, um, you know, Ry was telling a little bit about like some of the stuff that he [00:00:40] had going on, and I think it's just a whole, like, it's a big disruptor, but I think everything that's a disruptor is also an opportunity. Mm-hmm. And. Yeah, that's kind of where we were. Um, and [00:00:50] then I was like, hold on, let me go get Dave because like, this is all too much good stuff right now you can't have him not
[00:00:55] Riley Cote: in the conversation, right?
[00:00:57] Riley Cote: Yeah. You're standing over there. We're having this conversation. Yeah. I was like, [00:01:00] his input, this is, this
[00:01:01] Dave Boucher: is
[00:01:01] Riley Cote: wrong.
[00:01:02] Dave Boucher: I think it's great for our industry. I
[00:01:03] Riley Cote: I, it is what I said to Dave. I like, it's gotta be great for regulated marijuana businesses For sure. I think there's a
[00:01:08] Dave Boucher: lot of people taking [00:01:10] advantage of like, I'm all for for sure.
[00:01:11] Dave Boucher: Like I want to give CBD to people that need it. I want to, I get all that and. Man, all the people that are super loud about [00:01:20] that, like, oh, it's taking people's medicine away. It's like you're completely disregarding the fact that there was a huge billions of dollar market that was just marketing to your kids in gas [00:01:30] stations and smoke shops that were completely unregulated.
[00:01:32] Dave Boucher: Totally. The packaging was all that looked like cereal boxes. The worst product, like the, the product that's in those cereal boxes had [00:01:40] no regulations behind it. Nobody oversaw that. Nobody tested it. That's like, right, if they did, they did it on their own accord. They're, they're not doing that.
[00:01:48] Dave Boucher: Right.
[00:01:48] Dave Boucher: So I, I, it [00:01:50] bastardized the whole thing.
[00:01:51] Dave Boucher: Like that farm bill that passed it made it so I could buy seeds and clones legally. You know what I mean? I, that I all about that. Like, yeah. That plant [00:02:00] scientifically has no THC content at all. You can't tell me I can't buy that. The seed has no THC in it. It's, it's a novelty. Like I'm okay with that loophole.
[00:02:08] Dave Boucher: But the loophole [00:02:10] that they were exploiting was really like putting kids at risk and
[00:02:13] Riley Cote: Oh, yeah. And once you start like synthesizing cannabinoids and making them something else, and you know, I know [00:02:20] there's some natural, you know, THC derivatives or whatever they were. E essentially selling, but, well, it's hard to know.
[00:02:25] Riley Cote: It gets, it's hard to know. Yeah, exactly. And, and, and just the quality of products. It's like, you know, [00:02:30] if, if people really, truly believe that cannabis is a healing plant, you, we can't allow it to be bastardized. Mm-hmm. It's so mean. It's already getting bastardized, but we can't allow it to [00:02:40] get bastardized that badly.
[00:02:41] Riley Cote: Sure. The way I see it, it's like, was zero respect for it. It was just like seven 11. Mm-hmm. You know what I mean? Slurpee, CB, D, like, you know what? It's literally.
[00:02:49] Dave Boucher: [00:02:50] Pump. We have $5 pre-rolls inside, like Yeah, exactly.
[00:02:53] Riley Cote: And skirt tailing, you know, the, the true medical ca cannabis or, you know, adult use cannabis markets mm-hmm.[00:03:00]
[00:03:00] Riley Cote: That spend a lot of money screw to get in the game. Yeah. And then, and, and then they're seeing their comp, well, you know, some version of a competition selling it at Joe Blow's gas [00:03:10] station, uh, you know, whatever it is. But I mean, the, the uneducated consumer, the ignorant consumer. This is rate shopping. He's gonna see, you know, pre-rolls [00:03:20] for, you know, three for, you know, $10.
[00:03:22] Riley Cote: Who knows? Yep. Um, garbage. But like, you know, it, it, it just, but just there takes the essence out of what, what we're, you know, trying to [00:03:30] do. And is, is, is, is teach about, you know, the, say the proper use of cannabis, but at least respect, you know, the, the plant on some level business and have some sort of [00:03:40] integrity with what you're buying?
[00:03:41] Riley Cote: No, it's literally just business. It's just business. Right. It's just moving the frosted
[00:03:45] Dave Boucher: nugget and red bank. They're in the same shopping center as a liquor store that's [00:03:50] selling the unregulated stuff. They have to follow so many rules. Yeah. They're all, you know, security. Crazy. They can't even open their door.
[00:03:56] Dave Boucher: They can't, like in the summer prop their door open. Like crazy [00:04:00] rules. I know. And two doors down in the same strip mall, they're selling unregulated hemp. And it's like, I don't know, there's a problem with that. So people can be mad at that if they want, but [00:04:10] yeah. It's just gonna be better in the end for the consumer because you have to come to a dispensary that tests the shit that you're getting For sure.
[00:04:16] Dave Boucher: And you know it's gonna be a clean product that is as transparent [00:04:20] as we can be about it. For
[00:04:21] Riley Cote: sure. I guess the one thing I, I guess I maybe struggled with a little bit was just like, you know, having to completely scrub the THC out of your [00:04:30] plant matter. Like there's a still a way I think when, when the, the farm bill first initially passed.
[00:04:36] Riley Cote: Like they were very serious. They would come and test every [00:04:40] farmer, like they made sure that was under 0.3%. It was not hot. You know, like to me you gotta give a maybe a farmer a little buffer zone there. Mm-hmm. Like allow it, that the tinies something [00:04:50] tiniest bit of THC in it just so the material, the end product lands up being just a little bit better because of that.
[00:04:57] Riley Cote: My opinion, well, one
[00:04:57] Dave Boucher: hot day would fuck the whole test up.
[00:04:59] Riley Cote: [00:05:00] Well, you're right.
[00:05:00] Dave Boucher: Just a one 90 degree day Yeah. Shock. It would, it would just, uh, mature those trichomes just enough to make 'em, because that's the way they do it. [00:05:10] They check those trichomes and they know at. This particular strain at this particular day from flipping to 12 twelves is gonna be [00:05:20] at 0.03% and we chop it and they flash, freeze, dry it.
[00:05:24] Dave Boucher: And that stops the aging process mostly. Unless it, you know, like I said, if you're [00:05:30] shipping it and it's in the bottom of an airplane and it gets really hot, and then by the time it gets to its destination, it could test hot, right?
[00:05:36] Riley Cote: Yeah, exactly. It
[00:05:37] Dave Boucher: could be perfect until it gets to the very end thing, but they're [00:05:40] not testing it.
[00:05:40] Dave Boucher: Most of the times at the store, I guess, unless they get raid? No,
[00:05:43] Riley Cote: I don't. It got so loose, like there was no test, there was nothing going on as far as regulation. It was basically like Yeah. [00:05:50] Opened up wide open. Mm-hmm. Anybody and their brother could come out with a product. There was zero traceability.
[00:05:55] Riley Cote: There was no like, and your plants are legal
[00:05:58] Dave Boucher: until like day 50.
[00:05:59] Riley Cote: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:06:00] Right. Just
[00:06:00] Dave Boucher: saying that that's part of it. Like if there's a ton of grows around and if they get busted and they have a good enough lawyer and they go. Test it.
[00:06:09] Riley Cote: Yeah. It's
[00:06:09] Dave Boucher: not, it [00:06:10] doesn't test it over 0.4 yet, so.
[00:06:11] Riley Cote: Yeah, exactly. It, it, it, it'll, it'll clean itself up here, you know, give, give it a year.
[00:06:16] Riley Cote: Um, who knows? Maybe there's some things that get amended in it all, but I [00:06:20] think it, I think it definitely cleans up the mess. Yeah. I mean, on some level and, and, and. Mean, rightfully so it needed to be cleaned up. Yeah. I'm, I'm, [00:06:30] I'm pro like all of it, but like there's gotta be like some boundaries around Yeah.
[00:06:33] Riley Cote: Like what we allow and Yep. You know, a level of quality. I have the same issues with the, like the food industry. Mm-hmm. It's like, it's almost like thinking that, [00:06:40] you know, it's just kind of the same route we were going down there. Yeah. Um, it's just like taking something. Rich in nutrients and you know, rich in medicine and all that good stuff.
[00:06:48] Riley Cote: Rich in cannabinoids here. And [00:06:50] then just depleting it into some sort of like Yeah, like Apples Frankenstein version. You have to
[00:06:54] Dave Boucher: peel apples now because they're coated in wax. Right. Exactly. The, the skin has the most nutrients out of the whole apple. I [00:07:00] know, right? All the fiber. Yeah. Yep. Shave it
[00:07:02] Dave Lisowski: off. Yeah, I, I was saying the one day I'm like, if we just eat enough of it, then you line your entire in herds and you become invincible.[00:07:10]
[00:07:11] Dave Lisowski: None of the bad stuff
[00:07:11] Dave Boucher: can
[00:07:12] Dave Lisowski: get
[00:07:12] Dave Boucher: it. So it, it all, it. It is, it's all bastardized. Now. You, you can call something organic and they just use organic wax [00:07:20] to cover it, right? Yeah. Whatever. No regulation around that. It's not PPCs. It's PPDs. Yeah. I don't know. Just a different kind of plastic. It's,
[00:07:27] Dave Lisowski: well, I think, I think with, with everything, [00:07:30] like every industry goes through these types of cycles where there's this big, there's, there's this wild west thing that happens, which is I think what we've just kind of gone through, and then there's a, like you said, there's like [00:07:40] a, all right, we need to reset here, and then there's this big reset.
[00:07:43] Dave Lisowski: But, and it, and it seems like to a lot of people, it might seem like, um, you know, [00:07:50] a, a detrimental thing, but there's always the opportunity in it. That's one of the other things that we were talking about, is like, depending on your perspective and your positioning mm-hmm. It can be a huge opportunity. And I think, [00:08:00] I think here, you know, with, with the beverages side of things, I think it's, there's a lot of opportunity.
[00:08:05] Dave Boucher: Yeah. A hundred percent. Um,
[00:08:05] Dave Lisowski: just because of now it's like, okay, we've, we've been in a position to be able to do it [00:08:10] right. And to be able to actually. You know, have it in a regulated industry. Like if you are someone who's in a position to operate within a regulated in industry, that's huge. But [00:08:20] also I think we're gonna see a lot of things, especially over this next year, bef, bef, you know, uh, buzzer, beater mm-hmm.
[00:08:27] Dave Lisowski: Amendments and other laws [00:08:30] within laws that are passed that are gonna gonna allow another little like. Break in the door to the wild West again, and there's gonna be some new version of that. [00:08:40] Mm-hmm. Who, I don't know what it is yet, but I think there's gonna be something there that people find a way of, if there's always a business opportunity, someone fades away.
[00:08:47] Riley Cote: Always. Yeah. Yeah. And they're like, [00:08:50] they're, they're, they're looking at it always and seeing how it's evolving, like by the day, almost by the minute. Right. Like there, there's a lot of these people keep very close tabs on what's happening and rightfully so [00:09:00] because. I mean, whether some of these loopholes are deliberate or not, who knows?
[00:09:04] Riley Cote: But like there's always loopholes. There's always like some crumbs left behind and, and there's so many people just trying to find [00:09:10] them. Mm-hmm. And you know, it's,
[00:09:10] Dave Boucher: yeah, it's definitely on purpose. Yeah. And there's definitely people, I mean, just track Nancy Pelosi's not, yeah. Pretty easy to see. Yeah. Yeah,
[00:09:18] Riley Cote: exactly.
[00:09:19] Dave Boucher: Unusual [00:09:20] whales or something they, yeah. Track everything. Yeah. They know. They all know the things. And that's what I was just gonna say. I think this is gonna. Really filter out the people that aren't paying attention to those loopholes and [00:09:30] people that pay attention to 'em are gonna be the ones that exploit it and get the money while they can.
[00:09:34] Dave Boucher: And I'm learning that as I'm growing like through this whole thing. Sure. Like that part of the game that I [00:09:40] never really paid attention to. Like I literally just hidden corners, fucking blowing glass and growing wheat defense. Like I didn't have to talk to people about this stuff. And now it's pretty eye-opening to see like, [00:09:50] oh yeah, like this is we, was it 345 days or something to go like, I think given.
[00:09:55] Dave Boucher: People the timeline and going, here's the fucking, [00:10:00] here's as much time as you have. Here's Yeah, yeah. Here's the deadline. Figure it out. Yeah, well, exactly. And if you, and if you, here's what we're now like ball's in our court jersey said here, they're the government said here and [00:10:10] this is, this is what it is.
[00:10:11] Dave Boucher: And now, yeah, the federal government said it. Now it's in New Jersey's, hands to go, alright, are we gonna let it be legal as a state the way we do this? And then if we do [00:10:20] that. Is it gonna have to go through the CRC the same way legal cannabis does? 'cause I think that's what's gonna happen if this, if the state has to get involved now and make the [00:10:30] decision, that means us as citizens are gonna have to vote on it.
[00:10:32] Dave Boucher: And if it gets voted in, I'm pretty positive there's like contingencies in those votes, you know? You know, it's it gonna be like its [00:10:40] own little bill here.
[00:10:41] Riley Cote: Yeah.
[00:10:42] Dave Boucher: It'll be, I'm assuming that the big operators in legal cannabis are going to. Be like their own little lobbyists and go [00:10:50] at the state and you know, we have a couple people that are gonna be in intertwined into all that, so.
[00:10:57] Riley Cote: Right.
[00:10:58] Dave Boucher: I don't know, it's just learning how to play [00:11:00] the game.
[00:11:01] Riley Cote: Yeah. It's an interesting one. And I also think that this was a big move, setting the stage for federal legalization. It's like cleaning up a little bit of a mess. Mm-hmm. You know, getting [00:11:10] everyone back in their lane. Yeah. Um, 'cause they've been obviously been talking about this for some time.
[00:11:14] Riley Cote: It's very complicated. You know, you're talking about dealing with FDA and [00:11:20] regulated drugs and obviously cannabis competes with pharma. We, we, we all know that. Mm-hmm. Um, how this thing plays out. 'cause I've heard different, a few different opinions on how this [00:11:30] thing plays out. 'cause right now, I mean, it's, cannabis is still a schedule one drug.
[00:11:34] Riley Cote: You know, obviously operating state law, state by state. Um, but [00:11:40] once you. Reschedule and you put it into the, essentially the hands of pharma,
[00:11:45] Dave Boucher: then Coca-Cola can do it. That's what I'm thinking right now. Coca-Cola can't do it [00:11:50] because drug, well, it's still a ed bond,
[00:11:51] Riley Cote: a drug, and it still has to go through it some bit.
[00:11:54] Riley Cote: It's, it's a reg now. It's now become a regulated substance. According to the Feds. Sure. So [00:12:00] it almost play, it almost plays like a pharmaceutical does.
[00:12:02] Dave Boucher: Well, right now it's schedule one. So Coca-Cola cannot make a THC infuse beverage, but Coca-Cola can [00:12:10] have a shell company or like a different, whatever that does.
[00:12:13] Dave Boucher: You know what I mean? I gotta imagine that breeze. At the top. Yeah, it is all the same. It, it's whether, whether [00:12:20] if it's Coca-Cola or General Mills, whoever the hell it is. Like it's not just them. I, I mean, I'm not just calling out Breeze, I just mean in general there's like the TH. [00:12:30] The point is the THC beverages that are out now are hemp, and I still don't think they could get behind that.
[00:12:36] Dave Boucher: But once it is federally legal, that makes it so you'll have [00:12:40] like an actual Coca-Cola infused, you know what I mean? Well,
[00:12:44] Riley Cote: but, but maybe, but maybe not. It might, it might still have to fall under, uh, A-A-C-B-D product. [00:12:50] Like a broad spectrum. Sure. A depending on what, free, because now, now it's really clear what you can and can't do as far as beverages.
[00:12:57] Riley Cote: Like you can make a, a legal CB, D beverage without THC, right? [00:13:00] Mm-hmm. That's well defined. So even, even PE, Coke and Pepsi not, and, and these large players haven't gotten into like the CBD space because it hasn't been that clear. Sure. The FDA [00:13:10] plays food and drug. Yeah. You know that, that's what's so complicated with cannabis here.
[00:13:15] Riley Cote: When you talk about, like, some of these compounds is like, it plays in the, both these spectrums, it's, it is [00:13:20] complicated, but the bigger. May maybe is, is the pharma one is like these, the drug companies. Mm-hmm. And how much money goes into patented molecules. Like, you know, [00:13:30] Marinol was synthesized 20 plus years, right?
[00:13:32] Riley Cote: Yeah. So it's not a new concept, new idea that they're, they're looking at these, these cannabinoid ways to dial it in ways to dial it in. And [00:13:40] it, so it is, uh, it's distillate in a pill,
[00:13:42] Dave Boucher: you know?
[00:13:43] Riley Cote: Exactly. So at some point. Y when, because it's, it's, it's when, not if mm-hmm. [00:13:50] Federal legalization does happen. What does it actually look like for, you know, the cannabis culture, not, not the pharmaceutical companies.
[00:13:57] Riley Cote: Yeah. You know what I mean? Yeah. It's a different, it's a two different [00:14:00] conversations and I think they both can, can play. There's, we've never seen a schedule three recreational drug, but then it goes back to the state regulations. I don't know, [00:14:10] like, it just, like, like the
[00:14:10] Dave Boucher: conspiracy theorist to me wants to say that the, once it becomes federally legal, like you're saying in pharma steps in.
[00:14:17] Dave Boucher: They're just gonna give everybody like us as much money as they [00:14:20] can to, to go it up, pick us up. Well,
[00:14:21] Riley Cote: I think they've already been kind of doing that, that that's kind of like the conspiracy theory on like the cost of entry for some of these, exactly. For these cultivation [00:14:30] facilities is that they knew that it didn't, it shouldn't cost $40 million to put up a grow.
[00:14:36] Riley Cote: With all this, the technology and all this stuff. They, they, they know that, [00:14:40] they know that within like five years that company's probably gonna go outta business and they can scoop that cultivation facility up. Well they for pennies on the dollar. Yeah. And that's what they've, yeah. Slowly been doing. This has all [00:14:50] been, uh, my opinion very well fought out because made monan.
[00:14:52] Riley Cote: But they did it
[00:14:53] Dave Boucher: by making it like Monsanto did those G seeds. Seeds where you're growing soybeans and they grow a field [00:15:00] right across the street, pollinate your field. That's it. You're not allowed to use those seeds anymore 'cause it's pollinated with their.
[00:15:06] Riley Cote: With their glyphosate or they're patented? Well, they're patented.
[00:15:08] Riley Cote: Patent, their [00:15:10] chemicals, whatever. They're patented pesticide, plenty of
[00:15:11] Dave Boucher: phenotypes of whatever that soybean is. Oh, right. So now they're doing the like, they're like, yeah, that's mine. Test it. It's identical to mine over here. Yeah. As [00:15:20] my parents. And you can't use that. You're sealed,
[00:15:22] Riley Cote: take you to court your ass.
[00:15:23] Riley Cote: Yeah, you
[00:15:24] Dave Boucher: can't. You can't grow that. You have to buy my seeds now. That's it. And then, so I got these weed seeds, [00:15:30] they're called. It's, it's a crazy thing, but you can take crocus root and spray, you get con condensed crocus root and spray a weed plant [00:15:40] with it, and it'll go from having two sets of chromosomes to four sets of chromosomes, right?
[00:15:46] Dave Boucher: So you have a two chromosome plant, wow. And a four chromosome plant. You [00:15:50] breed. And you end up with offspring that has three sets of chromosomes. It's called a triploid. It's like, they call it non GMO, but it's definitely, it's like [00:16:00] using natural things to make. Alterations mutations happen.
[00:16:04] Riley Cote: It's te the definition is technically different, but it is sure.
[00:16:07] Riley Cote: It is questionable on like, is is this even [00:16:10] natural? So it makes a
[00:16:11] Dave Boucher: plant that can't get pollinated. So like if you have a field next to you that gets males in it, these plants won't get seeds. And they are more immune [00:16:20] to pests, more immune to mold. They finish in 50 days, sometimes 45 days. Yep. They make crazy hash.
[00:16:27] Dave Boucher: They have like way more trichomes, like all these [00:16:30] mutant. Things,
[00:16:30] Riley Cote: characteristics, but
[00:16:31] Dave Boucher: that's the first step. Like I love it. It's so cool. It's science. But that's like the first step to that Monsanto thing with the soybeans where they're like, [00:16:40] you have to grow these ones. Yeah. Or, or. It might be the step in the right direction so that Monsanto can't come in and pollinate your field.
[00:16:47] Dave Boucher: Well, I was gonna say, from what
[00:16:48] Dave Lisowski: you were describing, it sounds like [00:16:50] that's kind of the way to fight it. The resistance. Yeah. But there's so,
[00:16:53] Dave Boucher: it's so new. There's only two or three of 'em, and most people don't even know what it is. Yeah. It's just one company that's doing it.
[00:16:59] Riley Cote: Yeah. You [00:17:00] know's it's, it's a little bit, um, I would say complicated.
[00:17:03] Riley Cote: I think when you talk about agriculture is basically, Monsanto is bread and butter. Right? Is like they, they've patent patented [00:17:10] seed. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And they have the chemicals that go with it. Mm-hmm. So you see, you know, you have to grow these seeds with this, these chemicals, you spray it, everything around it dies.
[00:17:16] Riley Cote: But the plant itself and bubble, everything you said is true. Right. [00:17:20] This patent infringement on the, on the seeds themselves. But that's, that's the game is they want to control the seed. You control the grow, you control the seed. Mm-hmm. You [00:17:30] control the, well, the, they're gonna control the genetics. You control the genetics, right?
[00:17:33] Riley Cote: And that's like that. What,
[00:17:35] Dave Boucher: and like me as a grower, as a, as, even a gray market, whatever it is. [00:17:40] I won't even have access. That's the other conspiracy theory that's going on, is this is the moves that the government can take over control of all the genetics and take it out of home growers' [00:17:50] hands and take it out of the black market's hands.
[00:17:52] Dave Boucher: We've done all the work up till now. Now they'll go, good job guys.
[00:17:55] Dave Boucher: Yeah,
[00:17:56] Dave Boucher: you have it sowed, dialed in. I federally illegal. You're not allowed to do this [00:18:00] anymore. And now they have all those genetics and they can make all the pharmaceuticals they want 'cause they know what has CBN. They know what has CBG for
[00:18:07] Riley Cote: sure.
[00:18:07] Riley Cote: I mean, on some level I think that is already [00:18:10] happening. Sure. I mean, I think this is how, this is how Slow. Slow. It's a slow, slow drip. 'cause it's very complicated because. Because it's not, it's so much [00:18:20] more than the medicine. Right. It's, it's, it's so much deeper when you talk about the politics in it.
[00:18:24] Riley Cote: Mm-hmm. And, and the chemicals that are associated with it. 'cause it's not just like, oh, we just wanna control the [00:18:30] seed. No, they need to, they need to implement their, their oil based chemicals to, to spray it. Did their stuff to, to their, to control the environment, to control the grow, to do it, you [00:18:40] know, in line with the way you see it.
[00:18:41] Riley Cote: But it's, it's. It's well on its way to me. It's already kind of happening when you, especially when you talk about like Scots, like the, uh, the, you know, the [00:18:50] fertilizer company. Yeah. I mean, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're in it. I mean, like, so it's, it's, it is just, these things take like years and years and years for them to kind of fully manifest [00:19:00] into like a, you know, a, a true, like global, commercialized industry, right?
[00:19:05] Riley Cote: Mm-hmm. Now it's still, it's still pretty small, even though it's like. Yeah. It's grown significantly like [00:19:10] mycelium
[00:19:10] Dave Boucher: under the dirt. E Exactly. It's, it's like you
[00:19:12] Riley Cote: always build the empires off the backs of the people you know, that are, are the experts. Mm-hmm. Right. They rip off all the knowledge, you [00:19:20] know, they, they, they know exactly what they're doing.
[00:19:21] Riley Cote: They hire the, the best people and all the, and all the little departments. Um, but they're gonna do it their way. Mm-hmm. You know, with their SOPs and, you know, they'll, [00:19:30] they'll take some stuff from you or whoever, you know what I mean? The classic stuff. Yeah. It's a hybrid model. Yeah. You just, but it's going, it, it is going GM o.
[00:19:37] Riley Cote: Mm-hmm. For sure. Mm-hmm. Um, but there's always gonna be these two worlds, [00:19:40] right? Just like there's GMO corn and GMO soy and GM O cotton. There's also organic of all those. And there's also a whole organic movement where you just stay away from all those. And you just buy like the local farmer, [00:19:50] you know?
[00:19:50] Riley Cote: Yeah. The frosted nug, right? Yeah. We're literally talking about
[00:19:52] Dave Boucher: it right now with just remediated stuff. And I'm not gonna drop any names, but we found out a place that we really like, just remediates their [00:20:00] stuff. Mm. Before it gets tested so that it never fails. Right. And then they don't have to report that it was remediated.
[00:20:05] Dave Boucher: I, so
[00:20:06] Dave Lisowski: for someone who like me, who is dumb and new to agriculture [00:20:10] and, you know, learning all this stuff as we go, what, what is that? Like? What did. What is remediation? What does that look like?
[00:20:15] Dave Boucher: Radiation. It's a microwave machine and to my knowledge, all the food you [00:20:20] buy in a grocery store is radiated. It's remediated because when they get it from the farmers, they have to run it through that machine to make sure it's all gonna pass at the [00:20:30] grocery stores.
[00:20:30] Dave Boucher: Hmm. Pretty sure. Even, or some organic stuff does it doesn't make it not organic. You can grow it organically and then you zap it and make sure that the organic method that [00:20:40] probably got some mold is remediated. Okay, and you left with inert dust.
[00:20:44] Dave Lisowski: So it's basically anything, if there's any chance of anything on there that would be [00:20:50] harmful or, or bacteria or anything like that.
[00:20:52] Dave Lisowski: It's like so, so basically. I guess what it does is allows you more leeway in great, like, [00:21:00] growing practices. Mm-hmm. So you can kind of be like, uh, we can, we, we, we'll get 70% of the way there, we'll get 65% of the way there. Yeah. And then we will, we will zap at the [00:21:10] end and we, it'll give us a passing grade.
[00:21:11] Dave Boucher: Yeah. If I'm growing organically with living soil. If you're not doing it right, you're gonna splash that living soil up on the plants, and if the soil dries out, [00:21:20] the fans in the room are gonna make dust outta that top layer of soil, and that top layer of soil's gonna have microbials in it. It's gonna have all that stuff that's living in that dirt.
[00:21:29] Dave Boucher: And [00:21:30] one way to get around that is when you're done put it through the rad machine. Mm-hmm. It's like putting it in a microwave for an hour. It doesn't get it too hot, you know, to like screw it up. But man, I don't know. Yeah. I, I don't [00:21:40] know what the, yeah. I don't know what to think about it. It can't be great.
[00:21:44] Dave Boucher: I just can't imagine. It's great. I mean, yeah, I mean, all our food we're definitely affect affecting the, I we're sick as a nation. Right, [00:21:50] exactly. So like, I, who's to say if it's because I don't know. Yeah.
[00:21:53] Riley Cote: Well, it's, it's, we, we, we always, we always seem to like, find safety in these things that like, you know, like.[00:22:00]
[00:22:00] Riley Cote: The whole ha hand sanitizer thing. It's like, well, if you're gonna be scared of every microbe and organism that you're gonna run into this planet system, you're not gonna have immune. Well, good. Good luck. Yeah, exactly. Good luck being human. [00:22:10] Right. Because we're always running into and stuff. We cannot purell our hands every time we touch a table or got like, we're, we're killing all these little micro robot, you know, all these little microorganisms.
[00:22:19] Riley Cote: Yep. We do it in farming [00:22:20] with the same thing. All these chemicals deplete the soil of its nutrients and everything. You're running outta dirt man, running outta this good soil. Right? And so we're growing in nutrient depleted soil, and [00:22:30] the only way to do that is to have GMO seeds, right? But we, we, we like to just like sanitize everything, like spray, spray, spray, spray, spray, spray, right?
[00:22:38] Riley Cote: It's like, it's like, like nature [00:22:40] is like throwing us like these like. I don't know these hand grenades, and we're just like trying to bob and weave and protect ourselves with more chemicals. Mm-hmm. You know what I mean? So we're scared of [00:22:50] nature and we're spraying ourselves. Mm-hmm. And trying to protect ourselves.
[00:22:53] Riley Cote: We think we're protecting ourselves with. With chemicals. I'm pretty sure the healthiest
[00:22:57] Dave Boucher: people are like cow farmers. Oh [00:23:00] yeah. Cow shit all day. You know what, of course you're, you're building your immune system the whole time. Your immune system's working. Yeah. Which keeps you healthier. And then it can recognize those things [00:23:10] when they.
[00:23:10] Dave Boucher: Like you said, hand grenades. Those hand grenades are like exploding a hundred feet away. You know, it's not you, it's not really that big of a risk. It's
[00:23:18] Riley Cote: No, I mean it's, yeah. [00:23:20] It, it's just crazy. It just, it just shows us how disconnected we are too. Like, well, I guess reality, but like what we, you know, what we think is healthy and how we normalize some of these practices and [00:23:30] be like, Hey, well, even like pasteurization of milk.
[00:23:32] Dave Boucher: Mm-hmm.
[00:23:32] Riley Cote: Right? I mean, it's like, okay, we can argue, well, yeah, well how are we gonna scale milk? Right? Because you have to pasteurize it so we don't get sick. [00:23:40] W Well, y yeah, I guess if you want to scale milk, if you want scale, if you wanna buy, if you wanna, if you wanna buy commercialized milk. But there's a lot of health benefits to, to raw milk.
[00:23:49] Riley Cote: Mm-hmm. People [00:23:50] ate, been drinking raw milk forever. Forever. It's got all the, you know, the great prebiotics and this great for just like, for, for the body. 'cause it's, it is not. Hasn't [00:24:00] been tainted with and, and effed up and all that. Um,
[00:24:03] Dave Boucher: and if you know, it's from the farm down the street and the Macau was just milked a couple days ago.
[00:24:07] Dave Boucher: Exactly. Like, it's not, it's
[00:24:08] Riley Cote: it's fresh and it's, [00:24:10] and it's, it's good bacteria. You know, this idea that we gotta kill all bacteria, we gotta kill it all. But it's like, no, that the body needs some good bacteria. Right? I mean, this is, again, to your point of gut, the [00:24:20] gut health and the, and the immunity. Immunity.
[00:24:22] Riley Cote: It's not just like, and even like when you think of like some of these like archaic like treatments. Like you think of like wiping out every bad [00:24:30] cell, like how can the body survive when you wipe out every, every, every cell, not just the bad cells. The good ones too.
[00:24:35] Dave Boucher: Yeah.
[00:24:35] Riley Cote: It's like we just, like, we wanna sterilize the world.
[00:24:38] Riley Cote: You know? It's this, it's, it's a crazy thing. I don't [00:24:40] even know why we got onto this topic, but I think it's the farming practices or mm-hmm. Where we were, we went off on, well I think it's because
[00:24:44] Dave Lisowski: it's, it speaks to a larger kind of just cultural type of thing too, where it's like, again, we, we always talk [00:24:50] about like cannabis and culture and there's, it's kind of like fused together and, and it does, you know, the things that you do on one side.
[00:24:55] Dave Lisowski: Have some type of effect on the other. And I think it, uh, it, the whole time you've been talking here, [00:25:00] it just makes me think of like one, the, the just aftermath of globalization, right? Mm-hmm. It's just like, all right, we're building these things up and we need to [00:25:10] scale everything. And so in order to do that, we need to get efficient, which means, you know, there's certain just, again, practices we need to put into place.
[00:25:18] Dave Lisowski: Um, and it, it just [00:25:20] makes me think of the scene from La la Land has, have either of you seen La la land? Ah, where basically he's like, they're, they're after this party and they're looking for the car and, [00:25:30] um, and she's like trying to like do the, the beep thing and he's like, oh no, you gotta put it to your chin.
[00:25:35] Dave Lisowski: She's like, what does that do? He's like, well, it makes your head act like as an antenna. He's like, it sends the, the [00:25:40] signal out further. He is like. You know, I think it gives you cancer, but like, you know, you find your car faster so it balances out, you know?
[00:25:47] Riley Cote: Yeah. That is exactly it. Right? The [00:25:50] delusion in some of our thinking is like, it's like,
[00:25:53] Dave Lisowski: we know we do these things, you know, but damn, we can get, you know, we can get all this stuff, but I have wireless headphones.
[00:25:58] Dave Lisowski: Yeah, I know, right? [00:26:00] I
[00:26:00] Dave Boucher: know. I love my AirPods, but I'm pretty sure they're giving me brain cancer.
[00:26:02] Dave Lisowski: Yeah. It is like, oh, I have the world's knowledge in my, in the palm of my hand, and it's probably giving me cancer, but I can figure all these, all these. Things [00:26:10] faster, so maybe it'll help me live longer. Yeah.
[00:26:13] Dave Lisowski: The mental, oh my God. In the background. I know. Yeah. Yeah. It's wild thinking. It is How, you know, how else can you justify sleep at night? Justify though. [00:26:20] Yeah. It's like, otherwise, if I lay there all night and just start thinking about all of it, it's like, do I really wanna do that? Not, I remember having a couple of those
[00:26:28] Riley Cote: thoughts, you know, it's like we're all, we're all gonna die [00:26:30] anyways.
[00:26:30] Riley Cote: Yeah. Everyone's gonna die. You, why do you, why do you wanna take care of yourself? Because I wanna live like a good life. Like I wanna feel good. Yeah. Not depressed and like a bag of shit. [00:26:40] It's like you're in the middle of a bad trip sometimes. Yeah.
[00:26:42] Dave Boucher: I'm just gonna die. Yeah. It's like we're all gonna die anyways.
[00:26:44] Dave Boucher: Just,
[00:26:44] Riley Cote: just live your life. People will say like, live your life. It's like, okay, I used to live my life and I was feeling a bag of shit. [00:26:50] Yeah. Even though I thought I was on top of the world, I was depressed. How can that be like, you know, it's like there's, there's gotta be some sort of like laws of nature that we might have to.
[00:26:58] Riley Cote: Some bit follow [00:27:00] to have some level of happiness and Yeah. Enjoyment of this, uh, this ride we're in. But it's
[00:27:05] Dave Lisowski: always a push and pull and a give and take. Yeah. Always. And, and like, funny enough, I think it is just the full circle [00:27:10] moment to what we were talking about earlier of like there's always the wild west and then the reset, and then there's always more opportunity and it becomes the wild west and then there's the reset pendulum everything.
[00:27:18] Dave Lisowski: Exactly, [00:27:20] exactly. It's always a pendulum and, and it's just, it's interesting to see, I think what we're gonna be, what that. What it, when it swings back, what that's gonna look like next.
[00:27:28] Dave Boucher: I think my brain sees it as charts too. [00:27:30] 'cause everything's a stock chart. Mm-hmm. Everything's up, down, up, down, up. Oh yeah.
[00:27:33] Dave Boucher: There's always peaks and valleys to everything. Mm-hmm. So, yeah, I think like the hemp got its peak and it's gonna valley and then you're [00:27:40] gonna figure it out and it's, everything's charts, man, pendulums and.
[00:27:44] Dave Lisowski: Yeah, no, that's a hundred percent artistic brain thinking. But dude, I, I think the same way though, like I, [00:27:50] again, like running, running a business for like a decade prior to this, there's, they always talk about the rollercoaster, right?
[00:27:56] Dave Lisowski: Anytime, anytime you're like self-employed or like freelance, right? Mm-hmm. It's [00:28:00] always the rollercoaster, whether it's seasons where things are going really, really great. And then, you know, you're so focused on, on doing the thing that like you don't market as much. So then it's like, then you run naturally into like a [00:28:10] slower period and then you have to like shift gears again.
[00:28:12] Dave Lisowski: And it's always this, this, mm-hmm. This give and take and this push and pull. And everybody's always chasing the slow consistency with everybody's chasing the fast [00:28:20] consistency. Right. But. Um, it's, I think the same way it is. It's like the chart, right? And the goal is just when you zoom out far enough that it's always going up, it's more trending up.
[00:28:28] Dave Lisowski: Yeah. Right. Yeah. And I think that's [00:28:30] what we're probably seeing here is like overall, you know, if you look at the numbers, I'm sure the general growth of just the, the industry of. [00:28:40] Cannabis or hemp or, or, you know, anything holistic. Just if you zoom out far enough is, is trending upward and I don't, I don't really know if it's ever gonna start to [00:28:50] necessarily trend downward.
[00:28:53] Dave Boucher: No. It's just gonna. Yeah, I don't know. You're gonna have naysayers that are gonna make it harder to keep going [00:29:00] up. I guess. Like, I don't know, like you're talking about raw milk, there's always gonna be the other side that's like lobbyists for for sure. For just for big farm, you know? Yeah, exactly. They're like, oh no,
[00:29:09] Riley Cote: it's always gonna be [00:29:10] evolving and growing.
[00:29:10] Riley Cote: I mean, I think on the hemp side, I think, I think this opens up to one of the bigger reasons why people were lobbying for hemp in the first place was like the fiber in the textile space. Like give a, give, give [00:29:20] the farmers. You know, an opportunity which they've had is just the CBD thing landed up being like the low hanging fruits.
[00:29:26] Riley Cote: All of a sudden everyone's like lobbying for fiber and lo lobbying for, you [00:29:30] know, uh, BA fiber. Yeah, that's how much
[00:29:31] Dave Boucher: cheaper houses would be. And fiber. Totally. Well, like, 'cause you can replenish the stock so fast.
[00:29:36] Riley Cote: Well this is where, this is where you talk about like being a nation that's [00:29:40] self-sufficient.
[00:29:40] Riley Cote: This is why, you know, most people don't realize that cannabis hemp, like cannabis as an entire plant, not just the medicine side, is arguably human [00:29:50] beings most. Useful resource. It was most viable. It was to
[00:29:54] Dave Boucher: build shit
[00:29:55] Riley Cote: with and, and so farmers grow, grow the, grow the hemp. Grow, grow it for fiber, grow it for [00:30:00] seed like seed, seed oil for food.
[00:30:02] Riley Cote: Yeah, protein for protein. Exactly. And that was like, that was the whole movement around. You know, the legalization of hemp and, you know, and the passing of that farm [00:30:10] bill. Again, you talk about loopholes, not loopholes, but all of a sudden everyone's like, okay, well I can make a lot more money growing CB, D and start growing acres and acres and acres, acres of land for [00:30:20] fiber.
[00:30:20] Riley Cote: And you need the, obviously you need the machinery and the whole infrastructure to start scaling that. Mm-hmm. But I think maybe this, maybe this move will allow that industry to flourish. I mean, like Henry Ford built [00:30:30] a car out of hemp and ran, ran it on hemp. Fuel in 1937, pre-prohibition. I didn't know that.
[00:30:36] Riley Cote: So, so like the, the, the technology with hemp as a, as a [00:30:40] fiber, as an, as a viable industrial resource is there, it's just, again, going back to oil and the oil based economy that we live in. Mm-hmm. Pharma [00:30:50] and synthetic fibers, hemp, and, you know, that whole world is, it's synthetic from oil. It's all made from oil.
[00:30:55] Riley Cote: Right. The, the, you know, the, the families that were responsible for hemp or cannabis [00:31:00] prohibition were in the textile industry. They're in the oil industry. They're in the newspaper industry. They were in the pharmaceutical industry. Oh. Clever. Yeah. Right? Yeah. But, but here we are. And, [00:31:10] and if you look at all, all, all, all, all pockets of the world, like hemp has been pretty rich, uh, a, a crop for them to grow.
[00:31:17] Riley Cote: China's still growing the, the [00:31:20] most, the hemp on the planet. You, I think Poland now in some of these European countries are growing a ton of it. But like you talk about a, a self, um, sufficient way to. [00:31:30] I dunno, it is never gonna be that way, but like you have, you have a, a self-sustaining, um, industry. If you, if you allowed your farmers to grow massive amounts of hemp for, [00:31:40] again, for, for fiber, for fabric, for, you know, moving away from that really pesticide, well cotton oil took it over and they
[00:31:47] Dave Boucher: make all that stuff outta oil and the whole [00:31:50] planet.
[00:31:50] Dave Boucher: It's not just doesn't, I'm watching Landman with Billy Bob Thornton and it really is like eyeopening to like. Like I knew oils and everything, they use it to make plastic. They use it to make everything, everything. [00:32:00] Like you need oil, synthetic oils, everything in this fucking room. You know what I mean?
[00:32:04] Dave Boucher: It's because, but imagine if it went the other way and imagine if. You could, I'm pretty sure you could make most of this stuff outta hemp too. You [00:32:10] can if it went that way. You know what I mean? Like it so it, it's really just one thing took the foothold and, you know, a few generations worth of [00:32:20] people have built it up to here.
[00:32:22] Dave Lisowski: Totally. It reminds me of, uh, fallout. So, yes. I, yeah, so, so in fallout, the, the basic [00:32:30] premise is, um. You know, it, it's an alternate universe. An alternate timeline dimension.
[00:32:34] Dave Boucher: Yeah.
[00:32:35] Dave Lisowski: Where, yeah, where they, they, what was it? The transistor? Yep. Uh, was never, was, never [00:32:40] created. And so that was like this butterfly effect where in, in our world.
[00:32:44] Dave Lisowski: Right. We created it and we were able to like, create microchips and, and like everything became [00:32:50] electronic and tech and, um, we used electric for everything and computers and all that stuff. And in, in their universe. That didn't happen. So there was, it
[00:32:58] Dave Boucher: was all radio, right? It [00:33:00] was all,
[00:33:00] Dave Lisowski: yeah, it's all, and nuclear and everything became like nuclear powered.
[00:33:04] Dave Lisowski: And that became like the prevailing technology. So it's stuck in this like fifties Americana type [00:33:10] of look and aesthetic, like a futuristic type of way. And, um, and so it, it just, that's, that's what took over. And it makes me think [00:33:20] like, what, what would the world be if all those years ago. Hemp got the foothold.
[00:33:26] Dave Lisowski: Mm-hmm. Would we see all these like hemp lobbyists being like, no oil. [00:33:30] No oil, you're not allowed to drill. Yeah, exactly. Like all, you know, it's like, but we have this abundant resource to be like, and then you
[00:33:37] Dave Boucher: have a bunch of people, like it's putting too much CO2 into the [00:33:40] air growing all these hemp plants.
[00:33:42] Dave Boucher: It totally, it's like, like instead of cow farts, it's. It's, yeah.
[00:33:45] Dave Lisowski: Right. I, I think no matter what, and maybe like I, I'm an [00:33:50] optimist by nature, but I also like am very skeptical of everything. Mm-hmm. Also, and I'm just think like no matter the industry, you know, we're talking about like the, the legal [00:34:00] federal legalization of, of, you know, cannabis.
[00:34:03] Dave Lisowski: It's like there's always gonna be someone or some party who finds the opportunity and is like, [00:34:10] how can we close the doors as tightly as possible? You know? Sure.
[00:34:14] Riley Cote: It's of course. It's always, it's always been beast control, right. I think on some level, but I think like to [00:34:20] what you're saying too, like, uh, the only way the industrial revolution could really roll out is to outlaw your natural counterpart.
[00:34:27] Riley Cote: So the only way to be able to make this synthetic world we're [00:34:30] living in right now was to outlaw hemp. Yeah. Cannabis. Really, because if you have something that competes with you like that, there's [00:34:40] no way you can roll out this the way you have on the scale that you have. Mm-hmm. And essentially. Made everything once natural.
[00:34:46] Riley Cote: Now, synthetic, I mean like the DuPont family responsible [00:34:50] for nylon, right? Synthetic hemp. Teflon. Yeah. Teflon, yeah. All these things. And you, and you think about it like this, this world we live in could have never have happened [00:35:00] had cannabis not be been outlawed, but being like some level of a, uh, you know, a bit of a, like, let's say realist or just like an [00:35:10] exceptionist or whatever the word is, just like allowing things be as they are.
[00:35:13] Riley Cote: It's like you think of like the progress that we've made and he could argue it's like good, bad, or indifferent. I mean, [00:35:20] poison progress, I don't know. But like the fact is, is like without oil. I mean, you, I think you mentioned microchips or whatever, like some of these technologies, like you, you would have to wait like [00:35:30] 500 years maybe.
[00:35:30] Riley Cote: Mm-hmm. I don't know. I'm not sure if you, you, you could've innovated that quickly with hemp. Maybe, maybe you could have, if you just said, use a different material and done the exact same things. I, I [00:35:40] don't know. But you know, when you, when you have a level of acceptance for like, the way things are, I mean, think about it like there's some people that have lived and died.
[00:35:47] Riley Cote: And their whole life, cannabis was outed. Mm-hmm. Like you, they were [00:35:50] born in prohibition. They died in prohibition. And you think about it, like, it's pretty wild to think about like a natural resource being outlawed so heavily that they will [00:36:00] incarcerate you and, and ruin your whole life if you, if, if you grow it or if you, you, you caught with it.
[00:36:05] Dave Lisowski: Yeah.
[00:36:05] Riley Cote: Um, but like where it is now, and then it's almost like you have to like, kind of like [00:36:10] loosen up this, this coil that you've created because now, now we've built it enough where now we can. Well maybe bring some balance in the world. 'cause there's a, there's a cost, [00:36:20] there's a cost to all this oil drilling and, and, and, and creating of synthetics.
[00:36:23] Riley Cote: There's a cost look at, look it around us. Like look at the, look at the west specifically. Mm-hmm. But it's, but it's everywhere. There's a cost to it. [00:36:30] Um, and now we have to like, hit the, the panic mode and emergency mode and, you know, usher in natural foods and now natural medicines. And we're going back to [00:36:40] nature because.
[00:36:40] Riley Cote: We've, we've lost sight, we've lost connection. And it's because we're
[00:36:44] Dave Boucher: just coming up with solutions for the problems that we're creating. We're creating
[00:36:47] Riley Cote: Exactly, exactly. We create the problems. Have you [00:36:50] the solutions,
[00:36:50] Dave Boucher: have you heard the story about the. People that were on the Titanic were like the rival bankers to the people that I've heard that before.
[00:36:57] Dave Boucher: Yeah.
[00:36:58] Riley Cote: Conveniently it sunk that. [00:37:00] Yeah. So it
[00:37:00] Dave Boucher: makes me think like, what if those people were the hemp advocates? You know, they're the ones that were trying to take, they're like, no, we're doing oil and if you don't want to get behind us,
[00:37:07] Riley Cote: oh, oh my God, dude, it is. I don't think you were [00:37:10] even like a, had to be a hemp advocate and I guess until like the, the colonialists started coming in and, you know, bringing in their oil eventually you have to like stand firm in your hemp.
[00:37:17] Riley Cote: But, and I, and I think they did a pretty good job with it. 'cause actually, I dunno if you [00:37:20] guys know this, uh. It was, uh, was it after, it was World, world War ii. World War II starts cannabis at this point, hemp was [00:37:30] illegal. They forced all farmers to grow at least 5% of their crop hemp, because it, it was, it was through the Department of Agriculture, hemp, hemp for victory.
[00:37:38] Riley Cote: So they grew the hemp for [00:37:40] the uniforms, for the, you know, for the um, or the parachutes and whatever fiber that's ropes and stuff like that. Soon as the war over. So outlawed. See you later. No more hap, no more hemp. [00:37:50] That's crazy because they know how quickly you can grow it and how durable and how strong it is because it's been used forever.
[00:37:55] Riley Cote: Mm-hmm. That was the number one. That was the number one fiber used in, in, [00:38:00] in, in most, you know, say modern, uh, whatever, uniform, apparel, clothing.
[00:38:06] Dave Boucher: I didn't know that. That probably sent those farmers underground and started [00:38:10] like cannabis farmers here. I mean, that's right before we blew up in the fifties and sixties and like turned into hippies and all that stuff.
[00:38:17] Dave Boucher: What if that started because. They got pushed [00:38:20] underground and they're like, well, fuck you. I'm gonna grow it this way. It,
[00:38:22] Riley Cote: it it very well, there's probably a lot of stuff we'll never know on like how, how that all played out because you know, there's always outlaws that say, you know, [00:38:30] yeah. F you, but I'm gonna do it my way.
[00:38:32] Dave Lisowski: Yeah. And, you know, whatever else. And, um, well, you know what's, what's really interesting to me is I'm thinking about all like the alcohol. And liquor [00:38:40] industry stories. Mm-hmm. And how so much of it is rooted in this, like stick it to the man type of thing. Like, you know, we, we, during the prohibition is when we got our [00:38:50] roots, you know, and like we with help Yeah.
[00:38:52] Dave Lisowski: Buffalo
[00:38:52] Dave Boucher: Trace. Yeah. Yeah. And like, I'm pretty sure even like Jack Daniels has
[00:38:56] Dave Lisowski: like that kind of like heritage too, you know? And it's like. [00:39:00] There's this pride in like,
[00:39:01] Dave Boucher: NASCAR was started from smuggling boot. Like that they really Yeah. NASCAR drive started because of them smuggling
[00:39:08] Dave Lisowski: and, and, and case in [00:39:10] point, look how celebrated that is.
[00:39:11] Dave Lisowski: And there's this whole like, this just this idea around it of like, you know, we, we held through and we stuck at this man and we stand on [00:39:20] like, you know, rebellion and all this stuff and it's so kind of, there's so much like irony in there too. Mm-hmm. When you, when you look at it in a, through a certain lens, but like.
[00:39:29] Dave Lisowski: The, it, it [00:39:30] feels like for all the people who can, who can cheer for that, how many, like what's the Venn diagram of how many of those people are, are turning and [00:39:40] can look at like, you know, prohibition of, of cannabis and be like, you guys are pieces of shit. Yeah. It's like, wait a second, hang [00:39:50] on. Yeah. You know, it's very, hypo a beer for a second here, being
[00:39:53] Dave Boucher: hypocrites.
[00:39:54] Dave Lisowski: And it's, and again, at the end of the day, that's kind of like the, the whole. Power of like, PR and media is just like, you [00:40:00] can, you can weave the narrative any number of ways. And if it makes people feel good enough and they can resonate and find something that they want there to latch on with their identity too, they can, they can [00:40:10] rally around it.
[00:40:10] Dave Lisowski: Yeah. You know, and that's, that's like for me, uh, one of the cool, or like exciting I guess parts of, of all of this is, it is still so like. [00:40:20] Kind of wild west here, and so many people are, are they, you know, they have these like conflicting, um, thoughts on all this type of stuff or this stigma. [00:40:30] That's what we keep talking about, right?
[00:40:31] Dave Lisowski: It's like, how can you, how can you use the age old, like PR and medium machine? To, to bring people toward a better way with that. [00:40:40] And I think that's kinda what we're starting to see here and starting to, and I mean, that's why we're having like conversations like this, right? Like let's just, the more that's talked about, the more these things are put out there, the more the dialogue happens, the [00:40:50] more the conversations happen.
[00:40:51] Dave Lisowski: And
[00:40:51] Dave Boucher: I mean, I went to small business Saturday this weekend. I was at Hidden Creek Farm and it was all, it was like. Women 50 and younger that [00:41:00] had husbands that were state workers that weren't allowed to smoke weed and that they wanted to but couldn't, and then the wives wanted to and either hid it or like the husbands are like, I [00:41:10] can't do it.
[00:41:10] Dave Boucher: You can't do it. And then there was like 50 and older ladies that are like, have husbands that are retired and miserable and have had 10 surgeries and are on pills and just. So, [00:41:20] but there's a contin that both of those have like a, something I can do for 'em. Yeah. You know, like, come talk to me and I'll help you with, I'll help your husband wean off of BA pills.
[00:41:28] Dave Boucher: I'll help you sleep at [00:41:30] night and you guys will watch a movie and laugh together for the, probably the first time in 15 years, you know? Yeah. Like, and she is like, I'm in, sign me up. I'm coming in. So like. That's the people [00:41:40] I'm realizing we need to talk to because those husbands do listen to their wives, just might take a couple times of the wives saying it to 'em, right?
[00:41:47] Dave Boucher: But on both sides of it, the state workers that [00:41:50] aren't allowed to, they're, they're gonna go, listen, I'm allowed to do this and here's why. You know? And then the older wives are gonna tell their husbands like, you're doing this and this is why. Like, you're a [00:42:00] jerk when you're on pills, it's actually not helping.
[00:42:02] Dave Boucher: This can actually help you sleep and help with pain. There's just a, a lot of eye-opening moments that you can have with people [00:42:10] that the market we have in this store right now is like Chuck and Nick opened my eyes to that. I didn't think that, I thought like the whole market is here and then like I'm a sliver of [00:42:20] the market and I realized I'm like, like 1% of 1% of the whole market really is like what I want.
[00:42:27] Dave Boucher: You know what I mean? Like
[00:42:28] Riley Cote: yeah. Yeah. I'm a, I've learned [00:42:30] that too. It, it's just the, the world doesn't see it the way you see it and, and No, and just the way you, you think it's right. People. Yeah. There's so many people. And
[00:42:37] Dave Boucher: even in the, the, the atmosphere of all [00:42:40] this, yeah. I'm like an outlier on so many things.
[00:42:43] Dave Boucher: S But then to think of the whole market of people that don't partake at all. Don't even think that they have like a place [00:42:50] in partaking, right. They all do like everybody wants to sleep better. Totally. Everybody has something that hurts 'em on their mouth. Yeah. Everyone
[00:42:56] Riley Cote: wants to feel better no matter what.
[00:42:57] Riley Cote: Optimize for sure. I don't care if
[00:42:58] Dave Boucher: it's your knees, your back, your [00:43:00] neck, your head, like migraines, whatever. Like there's, you have some sort of ailment that I ha you know, there's something you that it can help you with. And everybody wants to sleep better. [00:43:10] There's just, I don't know. Yeah,
[00:43:12] Riley Cote: I, I, I hear you on that.
[00:43:13] Riley Cote: I think ignorance and just meaning, not, like not knowing. Is what's preventing a lot of these people from taking that [00:43:20] step. And also like the propaganda machine too, what you're saying, like there's a, there's a lot of stuff we're fighting too still to this day. The propaganda machine, like there's this, I forget the guy's, the name is this, a couple doctors actually [00:43:30] like brain doctors, like going heavy on like what cannabis is doing to the brain, obviously.
[00:43:34] Riley Cote: And don't get me wrong, like I, I believe some of it. Sure. But you gotta separate abuse and [00:43:40] use. And this is kind of like why we and
[00:43:41] Dave Boucher: outliers people that are prone to it. If you have schizophrenia in your family Totally. You probably shouldn't be taking a thousand milligrams of edibles for sure. You shouldn't be doing either.
[00:43:49] Riley Cote: That's it. You [00:43:50] know, it's Exactly, and this is where like some of this information, it's so fearmongering and it's so, it's so one sided. We don't, we don't tell the whole picture. It's like, well. Tell me [00:44:00] about this guy. How many milligrams, how often, you know, what are we actually talking about here? Mm-hmm.
[00:44:04] Riley Cote: Like, we, we need to know because it's important. Yeah. And we need to know that's not just the word [00:44:10] marijuana is causing, you know what I mean? The way they say it, right. It's like, well, no, it's cannabis. First of all. How much cannabis, what type of cannabis? What, what's, what's going on with this guy? You drunk?
[00:44:19] Riley Cote: [00:44:20] He's, as we know, like cannabis is a, is a mirror. And if you got, if you're already a lazy prick Yeah. You're, you're, you're intensified, you're gonna, you know, it's like you're gonna have more problems if you haven't, you know, maybe [00:44:30] address these, but especially if you're doubling down on THC, you know, distillate at 95 to 98%, of course it's gonna do more harm on your, it's gonna have, [00:44:40] we need to be clear on what we're talking about when you have, you know, the propaganda machine lifts to come throw mud.
[00:44:44] Riley Cote: But like, I think it's more, it's, it's so important that we have these conversations and we do the things we're doing [00:44:50] here for us to nug around like. Cultivating a healthy relationship with it, because it's not, it's not the plant itself, it's the problem, right? Mm-hmm. It's the relationship. It could be the, you have [00:45:00] with the plant, the jerk of the parent
[00:45:01] Dave Boucher: that leaves the thing.
[00:45:02] Dave Boucher: Every, like I was earlier talking about kids. That's like, my wife's main thing is like the, not that the packaging looks good, but it's easy to get into. Right? Like [00:45:10] I, I always test her. I like give her the packaging. Yeah. See if she approves, like see how, if you can get into this, you know? Right. But that's like a huge thing, and I really, I think we [00:45:20] need emphasis on like, people that come in and get this stuff.
[00:45:22] Dave Boucher: If you have kids, you can't be leaving this stuff around. No. You know what I mean? Because that's the, that's the big thing, like Yeah. An adult that's [00:45:30] abusing this. Yeah. Man. You kind of get what you get. But like a kid that gets into it by accident, like a five-year-old accidentally takes like a hundred milligram gummy.
[00:45:37] Dave Boucher: Yeah. Dude. I don't want it. That, that's a, I [00:45:40] agree. It could alter them forever. You for sure. Yeah. Yeah. That's,
[00:45:42] Riley Cote: yeah. Being responsible at all. Right. Sure. It's, it is different. It's, it's another bucket, but it still isn't that bucket of like being, you know, I'm, [00:45:50] I always love to have a relationship with it.
[00:45:51] Dave Boucher: I always love to compare it to alcohol and be like, oh, well there's bottles of whiskey or there's bottle.
[00:45:55] Dave Boucher: A kid is not gonna drink a whole bottle of whiskey. It's just not gonna happen. You're right. It's really easy, easy [00:46:00] for a kid to eat a hundred milligram gummy. It's not easy. So easy to drink a fifth of whiskey. I'm actually surprised.
[00:46:05] Riley Cote: I'm actually surprised there hasn't been more of those stories that I think there
[00:46:07] Dave Boucher: probably is, but they don't take 'em to the hospital 'cause they [00:46:10] don't want fuss to get involved.
[00:46:11] Riley Cote: Oh yeah, that's a good point. Yeah. Right.
[00:46:12] Dave Boucher: Yeah.
[00:46:12] Riley Cote: So I
[00:46:12] Dave Boucher: think there are, I
[00:46:13] Riley Cote: think it
[00:46:13] Dave Boucher: probably is a thing,
[00:46:14] Riley Cote: but I, but I, but I also think that if you're a cannabis user, you know inherently how safe it [00:46:20] is. Sure. You just gotta like, let the, you just gotta let the side effects pass. You gotta, yeah, you gotta go through the laughter.
[00:46:25] Riley Cote: Maybe the crying, maybe the deep sleep, you know, maybe the freak out stage. I [00:46:30] don't know. I don't know if it has that effect on children. I mean, to me, I, I've actually heard this story with, with psilocybin of, of children finding their parents like chocolate, uh, mushrooms. But like the [00:46:40] way it affects the developing mind, because kids are in almost an already in flow state.
[00:46:44] Riley Cote: Sure. They're already, they're already in the creative like flow. That that they didn't notice Any [00:46:50] real impairment? I don't know, man. I can't say the same for, for cannabis. I would imagine that it is probably gonna have a sedating effect, especially at large doses. But we do know what I did to my dog.
[00:46:59] Riley Cote: You'll wake up, [00:47:00] you'll wake up tomorrow. Hundred percent. That's the beautiful thing. You just gotta get through the the rough patches. Yep.
[00:47:05] Dave Lisowski: Yep. And that's something metaphor for life,
[00:47:07] Riley Cote: right? Yeah. Right. Yeah,
[00:47:08] Dave Lisowski: right. [00:47:10] It's gotta get through the grind. That's it. It's a
[00:47:12] Riley Cote: little bit of paranoia and anxiety, I'm sure for some of those parents that have had that happen.
[00:47:16] Riley Cote: You know, you probably don't wor wish that on your worst enemy. 'cause that's, it's gotta be [00:47:20] scary to see your kid going through it. Oh, I can imagine. Every, everything else is going on in your head, but just, yeah. You said your dog had it happen.
[00:47:28] Dave Boucher: Uh, yeah. I had, my [00:47:30] brother-in-law made an infused zucchini bread at one point and my cat knocked it off the top of the refrigerator and I came out and my English or my french bulldog ate the whole fucking thing.
[00:47:38] Dave Boucher: Oh. I think you might [00:47:40] stop. I don't know. He started having seizures after that. I think I might have screwed him up forever. They're, they're
[00:47:44] Riley Cote: sensitive to OIDs. I,
[00:47:45] Dave Boucher: and even like c, b, d, like too much ccb D could even be like,
[00:47:48] Riley Cote: hard enough.
[00:47:49] Dave Boucher: He's [00:47:50] sensitive to literally every medicine we've ever given. So, dude, he was racked for like four days.
[00:47:54] Dave Boucher: Like, he's like, couldn't stand up straight. Oh, man's a lot. I felt so bad, man. Oh man. Yeah. [00:48:00] So it it definitely works on dogs. On dogs, yeah. Yeah. So you ate the whole fucking thing.
[00:48:04] Riley Cote: Yeah. But that is a whole nother like, bucket of responsibility in itself, right. Is like. How you [00:48:10] approach it and how you ingest it is one thing.
[00:48:12] Riley Cote: But like you're talking about living in a place, you know, in a world where you have other people that are family members, especially children that are
[00:48:18] Dave Boucher: mm-hmm.
[00:48:19] Riley Cote: And those [00:48:20] candies, some of those man, those gummies and stuff are just too like, too easy. It's too easy. Too easy to get. They can't, yeah. So, yep.
[00:48:26] Riley Cote: Yeah. But I think that just comes back to just. [00:48:30] Being a better human, more responsible human all around. Right. And being more connected to your life and do, yeah. I things have a cabinet that, that
[00:48:36] Dave Boucher: closes and locks, you know, like that. Not that I always do that, but it's, it's [00:48:40] in the back of my head. Like, all my weed needs to stay in this cabinet and I need to lock it.
[00:48:43] Dave Boucher: Because, you know, curiosity is a thing, right? Sure It
[00:48:46] Riley Cote: is. So, yeah, it's like the old gun safe. [00:48:50] Yeah. I was just gonna say, you gotta
[00:48:51] Dave Lisowski: lock her down. Lock her down. Yeah. It's kind of the, you know, it's, yeah, exactly. I was thinking the same thing with that. It's just like you, you know. Whether you know it's alcohol, I feel like alcohol.
[00:48:59] Dave Lisowski: It's so like [00:49:00] loose where it's just like so accepted. Yeah. It's just like it's oh, little got into buy a
[00:49:04] Riley Cote: whiskey, a couple sips, no big deal, nothing good. You know? Yeah. But if
[00:49:07] Dave Lisowski: you, if you see little Joey like, you know, brandishing a [00:49:10] firearm, you're like, it's like, wait a second. It's gotta be like an equal kind of treatment here, you know?
[00:49:17] Dave Lisowski: But yeah, it's. Man, [00:49:20] crazy times. Yeah, it is. Yeah.
[00:49:22] Riley Cote: Why don't we talk about, uh, December 19th quickly before we get, get rocking.
[00:49:26] Dave Lisowski: Yeah. Yeah, dude, that's gonna be awesome. I think it's gonna be great. 'cause last time, you [00:49:30] know, the, the last event wa the rhythmic recharge was so good and people had such great things to say and, um, you know, from being in there, not, not really partaking in the [00:49:40] movement part, you know, being on the camera and everything, like just being in there for the, for the, the ending and the sound bad dude, it was.
[00:49:46] Dave Lisowski: Awesome. Like even so I couldn't, I wasn't like fully [00:49:50] immersed because I was there doing a test, you know? Right. Yeah. I guess I gotta like do that. But, um, still by the end of it, I was just so like, chilled [00:50:00] out, you know, and people, people were talking about having these kind of like, you know, Todd was like, I almost had like this outof body experience.
[00:50:07] Dave Lisowski: So I was like, damn, okay. And everybody had the great things to [00:50:10] say and the one thing that came up was like. Are we thinking about doing other times? And so the December 19th is gonna be a Friday evening. Mm-hmm. Six 30 should wrap up around [00:50:20] eight 30, you know, depending on, on how the session goes. Yep. But.
[00:50:24] Dave Lisowski: One of the cool things is the afterglow. Afterglow. Mm-hmm. I'm so stoked for that, dude. Yeah. Forward [00:50:30] to that. Me
[00:50:30] Riley Cote: talk about it. Well, yeah, I think after we kind of, uh, debriefed on the, on the last one, we just obviously talk about the next one and how do we make it better, you know, [00:50:40] what's the next step? Um, and I, and I think, you know, getting some feedback from some of the people, like, you know, you said they loved it and it was great, great feedback, and I understand that, like, that [00:50:50] type of.
[00:50:51] Riley Cote: Uh, experience might not be ideal for some people during the day. You know, whether it's just the, you know, an energy thing later in the day or, [00:51:00] you know, whatever it lands up being. So we, we talked about doing it in the evening, so now we're, we're creating some space on the back end that. That the, the people that come can stay after and [00:51:10] whatever, talk about their experience.
[00:51:11] Riley Cote: Chill, talk with the experience. Chill. We'll probably have a couple vendors there. Yeah. Um, you know, maybe some art, you know, we're talking about how are we gonna kind of grow this thing, but, uh, just an [00:51:20] opportunity to, to just. Take a breath and, no pun intended, but like, just, just relax a little bit and maybe mangle, maybe a little bit of networking.
[00:51:27] Riley Cote: Yeah. 'cause you probably don't get to talk
[00:51:28] Dave Boucher: to the people during the class. You get [00:51:30] to talk about the people that you're in there with. Exactly. Yeah. Makes relationships. Mm-hmm. And
[00:51:33] Dave Lisowski: think about, like, if you go, like, I, I love gonna the movies, right? And if I go see a movie, the one of the best parts is being able [00:51:40] to talk with someone afterward about it and just like, oh my God, remember that part?
[00:51:44] Dave Lisowski: Like, yeah. Oh my God. Well, what did you think of this? I feel like it's a very similar type of thing here. It's, it's for a lot of [00:51:50] people, it was a newer experience and being able to talk about the specific parts like that, we were getting little bits of that afterward. But I feel like for really, you know, [00:52:00] opening up that actual, um, you know, environment for people to be able to hang out in a semi-structured type of way Yeah.
[00:52:07] Dave Lisowski: Really is, is cool to be able to, you know, [00:52:10] we, we've been talking about like building this. Community around this, and I feel like this is that first next step mm-hmm. Is saying to people, Hey, after [00:52:20] you've gone through this, come hang out. And I, I, I love that name too, like the afterglow. Mm-hmm. You know, it's like, it's not an after party.
[00:52:27] Dave Lisowski: Mm-hmm. You know, but like, just from, from that. [00:52:30] Branding standpoint. It's so great. Yeah. Just like the after glo, like bathing it for a minute. Just reflection. Yeah, exactly.
[00:52:35] Riley Cote: Yeah. It's almost like a, a, a loose form or nonformal version of [00:52:40] integration. You know, you talk about like psychedelic integration, you know, generally happens.
[00:52:43] Riley Cote: So depending on the psychedelic, like the next day or, you know, we talk about the experience, but like. It's just like a loose [00:52:50] way to share if you want, or, or just listen if you want, or, or, or neither if you don't want to either, you know? Yeah. But like, but I think like when, when people have, say, [00:53:00] peak experiences where they have an experience they've never had before, you know, especially combining some different modalities like.
[00:53:08] Riley Cote: A lot of times they wanna talk about it, [00:53:10] you know, they want to get it on their heart, they wanna see if someone else had a similar experience. Yeah. They wanna know if they're not crazy, like, you know, whatnot. But, uh, you know, I just think it just opens up that safe container for people to, to [00:53:20] just hang out and show, whether they talk about their experience or not, you know, that's, you know, up to them.
[00:53:24] Riley Cote: But just, uh, I think it opens up that community aspect. Networking and, and, and, uh, just, you know, [00:53:30] again, just a, a relaxing vibe that people, you don't have to feel rushed out and, you know, have to have to leave right away. Mm-hmm. So to be able to just. Yeah. Bathing, I think you said just kinda just
[00:53:37] Dave Lisowski: chill.
[00:53:38] Dave Lisowski: Just chill out. Yeah. [00:53:40] Yeah. I think it's gonna be great, man. I think anyone, anyone who missed out on the first one is going to have a great opportunity to, to do this one. Um, you [00:53:50] know, we'll have. All the event details and everything like that, um, up on a page. But, you know, basically for anyone who, who doesn't know what this is, it's, you know, an an [00:54:00] infused session.
[00:54:01] Dave Lisowski: It's mindfulness, it's yoga, there's movement, there's also meditation and sound bath, and you know, you kind of take them through the whole journey [00:54:10] there, right?
[00:54:11] Riley Cote: Yeah. You kind of touch on all, all of it, right? I really strongly believe we have to. Move on, on some level, just, it's just cultivating a [00:54:20] healthy relationship with the body.
[00:54:21] Riley Cote: But I, I really do believe it activates the energy of the herb. Obviously, once you, you tap into the breath that you can do that on its own, right? You can [00:54:30] enhance the, the, you know, the, uh, the intensity through breathing. Then you move, then you sit and quiet and you allow the, the energy to kind of. Settle and then we get into the sound.
[00:54:39] Riley Cote: We, we [00:54:40] move it again, the, the, the shamanic drumming, the little drum journey, and then the gong bath. It's just the, I say we call it a rhythmic recharge, but it really is. It, it is. [00:54:50] Having some ownership in it. 'cause you have to do a little bit of work. It's not a lot, it's enough though. Generate some heat, generate some life force and then sit and then just enjoy the experience.
[00:54:59] Riley Cote: But to [00:55:00] me, moving that energy early in the experience allows for the experience to really be embodied a, a, a lot more. And, um, yeah, I already knew that from experience [00:55:10] and I just, you know, want to share it obviously. But to hear people. Say it just, you know, say, not that I need validation, but it just, it validates mm-hmm.
[00:55:18] Riley Cote: What I'm trying to do, and, [00:55:20] and, and people leave buzzing like that vibration is high, and I, to the afterglow piece, like, you're energized, like you're relaxed, but energized at the same time. You're, you're [00:55:30] vibrating, you're buzzing. It would be great to just like slide over to the other room and just like, keep it going, keep the glow on and, you know what I mean?
[00:55:37] Riley Cote: And, and, uh, and have some fun, you know, so, [00:55:40] um, I'm looking forward to it. Honestly, since we did the last one, I feel like there's almost too much time between this next one. Right. Next time we got maybe it's like twice a two weeks. Yeah. Honestly, twice a month. Yeah, because I, [00:55:50] I, I feel called to do this work.
[00:55:52] Riley Cote: I loved it. Yeah. Yeah. The energy was like, as much as the other people enjoyed it, I enjoyed it equally as much like, 'cause I'm, you know, pouring my heart and presence [00:56:00] into it. Right. And, and you can feel that dude. Yeah. You can tell. And I, and I hope so. 'cause it's my work, you know, I, I take it seriously. I wouldn't just show up here and.
[00:56:07] Riley Cote: Pretend to Yeah. You know, know what I'm [00:56:10] doing and, you know, and take people for a ride. No, this is, this is real. This is real work and, and, and real medicine and, and sacred. So my, my job and, you know, as, as a [00:56:20] steward of the medicine, the steward of these practices is, is, is to own it and, and live it and, and be as present as I can and in tune as I can.
[00:56:28] Riley Cote: So they feel it. 'cause [00:56:30] how I I am is how you, the experience goes. If, you know, if I bring some bad energy in. You know, a different type of vibe. They're gonna feel it. I mean, one way or another. Yeah. This is how it goes. So I need to [00:56:40] be, you know, you know, pure and come in there presence and high vibe and, and hopefully that it carries over.
[00:56:45] Riley Cote: So. Yep.
[00:56:46] Dave Boucher: Yeah, I think you'll be able to fill both glasses up. I mean, the other one [00:56:50] filled, and I'm pretty sure they probably told people, and there's, I think twice a month is probably the move. Yeah, I know. And
[00:56:55] Riley Cote: yeah, I mean, again, the momentum. Talk about, you know mm-hmm. Because since we did the last one, I [00:57:00] was telling Dave, well, I texted with you just like.
[00:57:02] Riley Cote: The amount of people have reached out and curious. Not really sure. Still. Yeah. But also know exactly now and like, okay, can you [00:57:10] come do that here? And it's say, okay, well now we're, you know, and now it's, it's, you know, it's, it's, it's getting legs.
[00:57:15] Dave Boucher: Yeah. It's getting a foothold a little. It's getting a
[00:57:17] Riley Cote: footholds.
[00:57:17] Riley Cote: Yeah. Um, you know, it just, I think it's just like [00:57:20] people that might have been curious, it's like opening an eye and ear, you know, like they're looking around or seeing may, maybe it's inspired them to do it at home on their own. You know what I mean? It's just like this. My Instagram
[00:57:29] Dave Boucher: [00:57:30] knows it recommended the, there's like a kid version of the thing.
[00:57:33] Dave Boucher: You have the D like with all the different
[00:57:35] Riley Cote: Oh, the handpan. Yeah. Oh yeah. Yeah. Dude, I love that part. It, it
[00:57:38] Dave Boucher: says how good it is. [00:57:40] I think I'm gonna get DJ one for Christmas. I think he would love,
[00:57:43] Riley Cote: it's so good. It's
[00:57:44] Dave Boucher: like a little mini one, but it's got like, does it
[00:57:45] Riley Cote: have like the mallet piece? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:57:47] Riley Cote: Exactly. And it just
[00:57:48] Dave Boucher: shows him [00:57:50] and just sit. I'm like, oh my God. Super meditative. I'd love if he would do this. Yeah, he's like the type of kid that would do so. Oh, that's awesome.
[00:57:56] Riley Cote: Yeah. Get him introduced to
[00:57:57] Dave Lisowski: that early. Yep, yep. Yeah. No, dude, it's, uh, I [00:58:00] think it's gonna be good. I, I know it's gonna be good. I know it's gonna pick up momentum.
[00:58:03] Dave Lisowski: It's gonna be, uh, like you said, people are pe The one happened, the first one happened, and like I said, I was like, let's just get this [00:58:10] first one. Let's, let's let it happen. And then you can always iterate, you know? Mm-hmm. Rather than try and plan the perfect thing. It's like, and I, I, I think it went off pretty damn [00:58:20] well.
[00:58:21] Dave Boucher: It's real community building, man. Exactly. It's real shit. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:58:25] Riley Cote: And that's why it's so excited about the Africa piece. 'cause it's like that's, yes, that community was in there, but [00:58:30] now you got another space to go into. Now actually. To really be a community, you notice that the practice together now you can, you can share together.
[00:58:36] Riley Cote: Yeah. And be vulnerable and Yeah. Mm-hmm. In a safe space. Right. Because they're all [00:58:40] like-minded people. They all signed up mm-hmm. To do this exact same thing. Mm-hmm. So like, I think that they, they're vibing on, on, on, on some level of the same Exactly. Frequency. So, yeah, I think so. It's got a lot of [00:58:50]
[00:58:50] Dave Boucher: potential for growth, man.
[00:58:51] Dave Boucher: Yeah. I think it's a, it's gonna be cool. Yeah. Just for people to be together and
[00:58:54] Riley Cote: Totally.
[00:58:55] Dave Boucher: I don't know. Our, our community needs stuff like this. I
[00:58:57] Dave Lisowski: agree. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Now more than ever. Yeah. Yeah. [00:59:00] Yeah. It's gonna be good. It's gonna be great. It's gonna be fantastic. Oh yeah. Great. Grand beauty. Yeah. Uh, well I think that's probably a good, and that's a wrap.
[00:59:07] Dave Lisowski: So as always, [00:59:10] drink a lot of water. Water people. See you December 19th.
[00:59:13] Riley Cote: Yeah. Hydrate and tell the [00:59:20] truth.
