Psalm 145. I will exalt you, my God and king, and praise your name forever and ever. I will praise you every day. Yes. I will praise you forever.
Pastor Fredo Ramos:Notice the tone already. Great is the Lord. He is most worthy of praise. No one can measure his greatness. Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts.
Pastor Fredo Ramos:Let them proclaim your power for I will meditate on your majestic, glorious splendor and on your wonderful miracles. Your awe inspiring deeds will be on every tongue. I will proclaim your greatness. Everyone will share the story of your wonderful goodness. They will sing with joy about your righteousness.
Pastor Fredo Ramos:Verse eight. For the Lord is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry, and filled with unfailing love. The Lord is good to everyone. He showers compassion on all his creation. All of your works will thank you, Lord, and your faithful followers will praise you.
Pastor Fredo Ramos:They will speak of the glory of your kingdom. They will give examples of your power. They will tell about your mighty deeds and about the majesty of your reign for your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. Your your rule excuse me. You rule throughout all generations.
Pastor Fredo Ramos:The Lord always keeps his promises. He is gracious in all that he does. The Lord helps the fallen and lifts up those bent beneath their loads. The eyes of all look to you in hope, and you give them their food as they need it. When you open your hand, you satisfy the hunger and the thirst of every living thing.
Pastor Fredo Ramos:The Lord is righteous in everything he does. He is filled with kindness. Verse 18, the Lord is close to all who call on him. Yes. To all who call on him in truth.
Pastor Fredo Ramos:He grants the desires of those who fear him. He hears their cries for help and rescues them. The Lord protects all who love him, but he destroys the wicked. Verse 21, I will praise the Lord and may everyone on earth bless his holy name forever and ever. It's clear that by way of reflection, this is a psalm and a prayer of praise really focused on the greatness of God, his might, his power, and really probably the most appropriate use of the word, his awesomeness.
Pastor Fredo Ramos:Psalm one forty five is a reminder today that we can approach God in prayer and have our eyes open to see just how awesome God is in his vastness, in his majesty, in the way that he opens his hand, as David says, and provides, in the way that he's merciful, in the way that he's unfailing in his love, in the way that he displays his power to every generation. His kingdom lasts forever. Like David is just he's praising God. And maybe find yourself too in a moment or maybe you need to get yourself in a moment of praise where you you kind of lift up from just a just a quick second of the things that maybe are weighing you down and you come into reality that God is awesome today and that he is worthy of our attention and worthy of our praise. And I wanna just draw our attention as we close to this really important phrase there in verses, 17.
Pastor Fredo Ramos:I'm sorry, verses 19 where he says, he grants the desires of those who fear him. In other words, because of God's awesome nature, he gives to you the desires of your heart when when when our hearts are aligned with him. Right? And so there is a a freedom and a permission today. As you think about the greatness of God and and you sense your own desires coming up to say, would you know what my heart wants?
Pastor Fredo Ramos:You know the things that I long for. You know my ambitions. You know my dreams. And so would you answer them? In light of your power, in light of your greatness, God, would you provide for me the desires that I long for?
Pastor Fredo Ramos:And would they be used in a way that declare more of your power and more of your awesomeness? Jesus, we hear you now inviting us into prayer to maybe just boldly share with you our desires and ask that Lord, we and just say like, we fear you, God. We respect you. We honor we honor you. We praise you today.
Pastor Fredo Ramos:And so would you meet these desires? Would you give us the desires of our heart today so that we might continue to above all else lift your name up. Pray these things in Jesus name. Amen.
