What is Stewart Vickers AI?

The audio edition of the Stewart Vickers AI YouTube channel. Each episode takes one AI release - a model, a tool, a price cut - and translates it into money for business owners: what got cheaper, who got undercut, and what to do about it this week. Operator credibility over theory, specific numbers over vibes. Every episode links the original video and the free Church of SEO Jesus community where the prompts and workflows live.

OpenAI deleted the message cap on free chat GPG. A billion weekly users just got the wall taken down. If you are paying 20 bucks a seat for your team on chat GPG+, half of that bill is now optional. 6 Luna. OpenAI's own numbers say it makes factual mistakes 62% less often than the free Modal people had yesterday. I'm Stuart, I run an AI agency and I have 12 plus seats on my card.

I am cancelling most of them this week and I will show you the math I'm using to decide which ones stay. Three things happened on the same announcement. Free users get unlimited text chats on a better Modal. Free users get a think button for harder questions. 6 soul plus a thinking slider the free tier does not. Here is the catch nobody in the news readouts is saying out loud.

Unlimited only applies to text. Files, images, voice and image generation still hit a wall on the free plan. Any team using chat GPG to summarise PDFs, generate marketing images or run voice mode all day still needs a paid seat. Everyone else is now on a better free Modal than the one they were paying to be on last Tuesday. Let me say this plainly. Every cheaper chat GPG alternative wrapper sold for $9 or $15 a month just got a competitor that costs zero and runs on a newer Modal.

If your recurring revenue depends on rationing GPG messages behind a paywall, you have about a week to change the pitch on your landing page. The App Store is full of them. Look at the top of the productivity charts and count how many are chat GPG with a nicer icon. Those companies have a Monday morning problem. Should you cancel your plus seats or not? Here is the answer then I will show you the audit sheet.

Cancel every plus seat whose owner uses chat GPG as a smarter Google. Keep every plus seat whose owner uploads files, uses voice mode, generates images or actually moves the thinking slider. For most teams that is two to four seats out of 10. The rest were paying 20 a month for a message cap they never hit. Subscribe if you want the next open AI pricing move to hit your inbox instead of your invoice. My channel covers every drop the day it ships.

The exact seat audit checklist from this video is in the pinned comment. The full decision matrix, the wrapper products that just got repriced, and my own cancel or keep spreadsheet all live in Church of SEO Jesus, my free school community, link below. Here is the audit, one row PR seat, four columns, files, voice, image gen, thinking slider, NES in any column they keep plus, all know they move to free by Friday. The free Modal they land on is measurably better than the one they had. Fewer wrong answers, same interface, no message cap, nothing breaks in their workflow. On a 12 seat team that is about $120 a month back on your card.

On a 50 seat team 500. Over a year that is real hiring money. It is a freelancer for a month. It is an ad budget. Now the part everyone is skipping. What open AI is actually doing here?

They just crossed a billion weekly users. The message cap was the last friction point holding free users on other tools. They removed it because they can afford to. They removed it because they know the real business is not text chat. The real business is files, agents, voice, image, and the IPI bill your developers are running up in the background. Text chat is the top of the funnel now, not the product.

For a founder that changes what you build on top of this, if you are about to build a customer support product priced against ChatGPT's cap, you have a new flaw to design against. Nobody pays you for what a free login gives them. They pay you for the parts open AI still charges for, or for the parts open AI does not do at all. Your industry data, your integrations, your workflow. Wrapper economics are dead, workflow economics are alive. Which brings me to plus.

The $20 plus decision now sits on two sole Modal variant, which is a step up on quick tasks like research, planning, and writing, and the thinking slider, which lets you dial up reasoning on hard questions. Everything else on plus, a free account gets on Luna. It is the value calculation for you and every one of your team members. Verify this yourself. Open chat. com in a private browser window right now.

Sign in with a free account. 6 Luna and look for the think button next to the input. That is the proof, not me telling you. If your plus users are engineers, analysts, or ops leads who actually use files and reasoning, keep them. If they open plus to ask it to write LinkedIn posts, cancel them. The pitch to your team is not we are downgrading you.

The pitch is you are already using this like the free tier does. The free tier just caught up to what you actually do. Nobody feels demoted when they get a better tool for zero. One more thing before I let you go. Open AI paused new pro subscriptions on September 10th because their ASStra product overwhelmed capacity. So while free just got better, the top of their stack is currently supply constrained.

If you have pro and you have been thinking about churning, hold. If you were about to sign up for pro, you cannot right now. Watch that window. It will move. The signal in that pause is bigger than the pause itself. Their most expensive tier is capacity limited while their cheapest tier just went unlimited.

It is the pricing power of a company that stopped worrying about competition and started worrying about servers. Before I sign off, one reminder. The seat audit sheet, the wrappery pricing list, and the cancel or keep spreadsheet I'm running on my own 12 seats this week, all of it sits inside Church of SEO Jesus, my free school community. Link is in the description. Playbook versions of these videos live there and it is where I answer directly when a setup breaks in your team stack. The next drop from open AI is going to be about voice or image because that is where their remaining paid moat lives.

6-Sol, which is on your screen right now.
