The Floral CEO

Have you ever worked your ass off all day, gotten to 11 o’clock at night, and thought:
What the hell did I actually accomplish today?
You answered emails.
Ordered supplies.
Scrolled Instagram for inspiration.
Washed buckets.
Updated something in Canva.
Ran errands.
Stayed busy all day.
But somehow, you still feel like you did not move anything meaningful forward.
In this mini episode, Jeni breaks down a simple productivity framework to help you stop confusing busy with productive.
Instead of beginning the day with a gigantic to-do list and ending it focused on everything you did not finish, choose three things that would make you feel good about the day if they were completed.
One Money Move.
One Momentum Move.
One Me Move.
That’s it.
Everything else is extra.
1. The Money Move
Every day your business is open, do one thing that has the potential to create revenue.
That does not mean money has to land in your bank account immediately.
It means you are actively creating an opportunity for money to come into the business.
That might look like:
  • Following up on a proposal
  • Sending an estimate
  • Responding to an inquiry
  • Reaching out to a planner
  • Pitching yourself to a venue
  • Posting about an offer
  • Sending an invoice
  • Creating an upsell
  • Emailing your list
Before you spend hours making something prettier, ask:
What am I doing today that could actually make money?
Revenue-producing activities deserve space on your calendar before busywork does.
2. The Momentum Move
Your Momentum Move is something that makes tomorrow, next week, or next month easier.
It might not be urgent.
Nobody may be emailing you about it.
Nothing may be on fire.
But it moves your business toward the bigger goal.
That could include:
  • Building an SOP
  • Updating your brochure
  • Creating a lead-tracking system
  • Finishing a website page
  • Planning next week’s content
  • Organizing floral recipes
  • Creating a base recipe
  • Building a consultation template
  • Updating your portfolio
  • Documenting a process
Urgent work screams.
Future-building work whispers.
But the future version of your business is built in the work that is not screaming for your attention today.
3. The Me Move
Your productivity plan should not be:
“How much usefulness can I squeeze out of myself today?”
You are one of the things your business needs you to take care of.
A Me Move is one thing that gives you energy, supports your health, or simply makes you feel good.
That might be:
  • Going to the gym
  • Taking a walk
  • Eating an actual lunch
  • Drinking water
  • Getting outside
  • Spending time with your animals
  • Sitting with your dog
  • Calling a friend
  • Resting
  • Doing something just because you enjoy it
Your body and your brain are business assets.
Stop treating them like unlimited resources.
The Rule of 3
Before your day begins—ideally the night before—choose:
MONEY
What one thing could create revenue?
MOMENTUM
What one thing moves my business forward?
ME
What one thing will make me feel better as a human?
If those three things happen, you won the day.
Everything else is bonus.
Key takeaway
You do not need to get everything done to have a productive day.
You need to decide what actually matters before the day starts.
One Money Move.
One Momentum Move.
One Me Move.
Do those three things consistently and you will start building revenue, creating traction in your business, and taking better care of the person responsible for making all of it happen.

Hello, flower friends. Have you ever worked your ass off all day? Like, literally you feel like you woke up, and then it's, like, 11 o'clock at night and you're like, "Where the fuck did... What, what did I actually do today?" And, I mean, that's a problem. Because we often confuse busy with productive, but they really are absolutely not the same thing.

You could answer 40 emails, reorganize your Canva, order ribbon, scroll Instagram looking for inspo, wash buckets, update your font on your website, run to the wholesaler, and you still are m- maybe, like, avoiding the one thing that actually moves your business forward. So instead of, you know, starting that one thing, you avoid it with your gigantic to-do list.

And, uh, one thing that I think that we also do is when we're at the beginning of our day, we're looking at, like, we wanna be productive. We wanna be, like, we gotta get all these things done. But we've never actually, like, just start and go, "Okay, what are, like, the things that I need to accomplish so that when I sit down at the end of the night, I do not feel like a failure?

I feel, like, really good about my day." So, if you are looking at your gigantic, ginormous, you know, to-do list or your whatever, project management system or your Google Notes app or whatever it is, I want you to pick three things. And these three things will... Y- you need to, like, be like, "Oh, if I get these done, I'm gonna feel really good about the day."

So I try to focus on, like, the money move. Every day, I wanna do one thing connected to revenue. This doesn't necessarily mean money lands in the account that day. It, it just means that we are trying to create money So following up on a proposal, sending the estimate, reaching out to a planner, posting about, you know, like your programs or your service offering, sending an inquiry to a response.

You know, like, uh, basically like trying to cultivate money, sending that invoice, creating an upsell, emailing your list if you have, um, an email list or pitching yourself to a venue. And this is something that you, you should be like every day your business is open and something should happen that helps it potentially make money.

And before you spend like three million hours making something prettier, ask yourself, "What am I doing that's actually making money?" Revenue-producing activities deserve a place in your calendar before busywork does. All right, the next thing is, like, what is the momentum move that you could be making, making?

This is the thing that makes tomorrow, next week, or next month easier. Not necessarily, like, super urgent. Uh, we're not burning the world down, but it's something that's going to, like, bring you towards your goals, bring us towards the, the big overarching dreams. That could be building SOPs, which are standard operating procedures, updating your brochure to really capture where you're at right now in your business, creating a lead tracking system, finishing a website page, building, you know, your content for next week out, um, organizing your recipes for or creating even a base recipe for your, um, à la carte program, uh, creating your consultation kind of template or playbook, working on your portfolio, documenting your processes.

Like, this is where CEOs get separated from being an employee in your own business. Because urgent w- urgent work just, like, screams at you like, "I need to get done. I need to get done," but future building work, like, whispers. A client email will yell, "Answer me." Your unfinished sales process or your outdated website just frankly doesn't.

So the future version of your business is built in the work that isn't screaming for your attention but doesn't mean it's any less important. All right. Then when we're thinking about the number three, this should be something about you, the me move. I extracted, like, every ounce of usefulness out of my day, but I feel like shit.

Like, that's not helpful. So this should be something that's going to make... give you life, give you better energy, and is just actually taking care of you. So that could be, like for me, it's going to CrossFit. It could be taking a walk. It could be like, I love to make a really pretty kind of lunch that, um, you know, has like fresh sliced avocados in it, and cottage cheese, and it like just looks pretty, and I've like just spent a little time and like, and I'm enjoying like real food.

Um, eating a real lunch, like in general, is probably going to make you feel better. Drinking some water, getting outside. Like since I've been... I actually like I'm sore today, and I haven't been to CrossFit like super recently, but I'm sore because I was wrestling with the new mini cow that we have, and I lifted it up into the back of my van, and I moved some feed, and I've been outside, um, wrestling an alpaca trying to get a jacket on.

And like, I am outside so much more, you guys, and like I just, I feel different because I'm soaking up nature and I'm soaking up like the world not in front of my computer. This could be sitting with your dog. I- we have a, um, and I had to unpause her a lot even though she's a tall sweetheart. We, um, adopted a Great Dane.

She is like having a mini horse in our house. She's a... Well, I mean, our mini horses of course are... It's weird that I can even wanna put the context together that my mini horses are about 200 pounds. Um, she's 108. Uh, I'm guessing since, that was since the last vet visit. I, I always feed my animals pretty good, so the- she's probably around 115 now.

Uh, but like she just loves to cuddle. She'll come when I'm working on the computer, and she'll literally like plop her head on my lap and snuggle into me, and like that just makes me feel good. So like what can you do that is a me move? Like literally you're doing something for you that makes you feel like you're accomplishing something.

I, I feel like you are also one of the things your business needs to be taken care of, but we never really prioritize that. Your body and your brain are business assets, so stop treating them like they are unlimited resources because if you crash, um, actually, if we take our health and ourself for granted, um...

A gentleman I have, uh, had on the podcast, um, Luis from, um, Joann Designs in Florida, like, he is, like, just a rock star. But, like, he's in the hospital right now and had a bunch of issues and, like, and, you know, he's done a bunch of Instagram posts and he's really funny, so I love following him 'cause he's very funny and he's very kind of, like, loud and just kind of in your face, which I just also think is really amazing because I feel like he's just acting like himself.

And, you know, he needed to go to the doctor, and he is, you know, he didn't, and so, like, now he's got a situation. So we should be just fucking taking care of ourself, you guys. We deserve to take care of ourselves. So pick one thing that tomorrow that you're actually doing to take care of it, and it's not selfish That is so not selfish.

You need to, we cannot be running, especially if you're a mother and you just give to your child all the time, we cannot be running around on an empty tank and expect to take care of everybody else. It's just not possible. So the rule now becomes every morning, or better, the night before, let's identify one money move.

What am I doing that creates revenue? One momentum move. What am I doing that moves my business forward? And one me move. What am I doing that makes me feel life or have better energy or just fucking takes care of yourself? And if those three things happen, you won the day. Everything else is extra. And you

Well, I guarantee after a week, you're gonna feel like a different person. You're gonna feel like you have, like, just so much weight because you're taking care of yourself. You're actually doing things that move momentum forward, and it's just, it's so much bigger than that. So go on, set your three things tomorrow.

One money move, one momentum move, and one me move. And go out, and you will start to feel like a different person. You will start to feel like you're actually making traction. And if you don't know what those money moves, those momentum moves, or me moves are, like, send me a DM. I would love to set up a, like, priority goal planning, like, get your shit together one time, one-off call, um, because we need to have a plan or even a vague outline of what we're working towards, otherwise we're gonna be here again next year, you guys, and I just don't want that for you.

So thank you so much for listening, flower friends, and you have an amazing flower-filled day.
