...
Interstellar Intercoms is an Audio Drama that follows a team as they infiltrate, explore, investigate and document various intergalactic crimes and phenomena. Episodes will be Serialized with each adventure taking 5-7 Episodes. The two main characters are Simone, a rather snarky on the field informant who doesn't always have the best foresight but is great under pressure and Brynn the rather panicky dispatcher who is great at making and following a plan, not so good without them.

Sims to Brynn. Sims to Brynn, do you copy? Well, if you aren't listening, at least they'll show up on the logs. I've landed just outside the Cardinal Labs. It's larger than we expected, and it looks like it's been in operation for a while. I can see the old power lines that were supposed to be shut down and wha. God, the drones are out. The patrol reports seem accurate. They shouldn't have seen me. I can't tell from here if they are siphoning electricity from the grid or generating their own. Could always be a mix. What's the camera layout again? You know, it'd be very nice if you were on air. Makes things less lonely. There. I see. I see. So I approach from the east to get to the data wing. Why do I even bother? Is this your lunch break?

You know, you're lucky I don't get a lunch break. This pack is heavy. This will get moving.

Welcome to Interstellar Intercoms, Episode 1 Infiltration.

The reports are right. This area is densely packed with both native and extraterrestrial flora. I see a few native species, and the imports seem to have adapted well to the environment. Why didn't anyone tell me about the giant centipedes? God, that thing must have been a foot wide. The Karltner Labs are in a clearing. There's about 50 yards of space between the forest edge and the building wall. I'm gonna circle around to see if I can find the entrance outlined in the brief. Over and out. Simone, Tabrin, do you copy? Of course not. Okay, I've lapped the perimeter.

Most of the drones fly over the forest canopy, so they haven't spotted me yet. There is a bit of COVID against the wall, but other than that, there's nothing between here and the far side. I've found the recommended entrance and I think it'll work. The water pump for the facility is right near it, so I should be able to hide behind it. I might have to stun one of the drones in order to get to the entrance. The reports say that I should have a few seconds to dash across the place. I'll wait for that interval to Come up and make a break for it. Ow. Made it across. Now to get in. You know, you'd think after 500 years of space travel we'd have found a big better break in method than a crowbar. Oh, I'm in. Jeez, this is spooky. Whoa.

They've been funneling under the place. I'll try to make my way down and look for the access room. It's supposed to between the three data centers. Its racks are massive. Less than three floors with an atrion. More of the three story room with a maze of catwalks around here. Find the door. Mildly less creepy hallway.

I know we need to check on squelch.

Project C3R B0Z.

I think it prefers to be referred to as squelch. I don't think it prefers anything other than eating.

Well, we still need to check on it. I don't believe I've been seen. That must have been one of the bio experiments reported. If you're on yet, could you look up C3RB0Z? Of course not. Why would they give me a functional intercom? What's through here? Good news. I do have a functional override code, so that's nice. Let's hope it doesn't trip any alarms. Nope, nope. Not through there. Well, I'm not entirely sure what that was. Some sort of featherless bird about 2ft tall, three wings and a face that was split like a mutated strawberry with two beaks and some sort of scar where a third eye might have once been. Definitely unsanctioned bio experiments. Of course. This hallway ends in a solid door. Please don't let there be any more skin birds. Oh. Hey. Hey there. It's alright. I'm not going to hurt you.

Just stay quiet. There's no need to freak out. Just gonna be all on my way. Okay. Damn it. Thank God. That thing was on a chain. Got my shoulder. Be fine. The thing guarding the door was a cat. Or once was a cat. Four legs and a feline face. But its fur was all patchy with strange boils and bald spots dappling its coat. What appeared to be small skin grafts whose stitches oozed pus and some sort of other oily liquid. I think I got some on me. Ew. Weird. It's making my fingers tingly. What are they doing with these creatures? It'd be nice if you could tell me what door I was looking for. I'd prefer not to have to spend time to pull up the map while on the job.

I know it's not your fault this satellite has to be malfunctioning again, given how long you've been silent. Good news. If these maps are reliable, I should just have to go down this hall and take a right. Okay. Yep. And a door. Please, no creatures. I don't see anything. Wish I had your radar screen. Okay, how to locate the access point?
