Bryan Wade:

Welcome back to the Sandals Church podcast. On this special episode, we're slowing down together. No rush. No agenda. Just a few minutes to meditate on God's word and sit in his presence.

Bryan Wade:

We know life doesn't stop moving. It's busy, noisy, and often messy. But even in the middle of it all, God invites us to come close, to rest, to breathe, and to remember who he is. Wherever you find yourself today, know this. God's spirit is with you.

Bryan Wade:

So take a deep breath, settle in, and allow his word to meet you right where you are.

Dani Crowley:

Today, we reflect on Matthew nine. I will read a few verses for you twice. And as you listen, take mental note of any words or phrases that stand out to you. Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the good news about the kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness.

Dani Crowley:

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. He said to his disciples, the harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest. Ask him to send more workers into his fields. Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the good news about the kingdom.

Dani Crowley:

As you heard these words from Jesus, what caught your attention? Let that word or phrase roam around in your mind and heart just for a moment. Savor it as a word from God for you. Now listen intently to this passage one more time. This time, consider how God might be addressing you through these words and inviting you to respond.

Dani Crowley:

When this reflection comes to an end, stay in this quiet place with the Lord, allowing scripture to lead you into a time of prayer. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. He said to his disciples, the harvest is great, but the workers are few.
