Welcome to today's Daily Tanya insight.
In the holy book of Tanya, we come across an empowering message in Likutei Amarim, chapter 26. Here, the Alter Rebbe discusses the battle against the evil inclination. It's a familiar struggle we all face, navigating between our higher moral aspirations and our baser instincts.
The Rebbe emphasizes that when we engage in this battle, we should not become disheartened by the continuous struggle. In fact, the struggle itself is a sign of spiritual vitality. Every time we overcome a negative impulse, we perform a service equivalent to the High Priest's service in the Holy Temple.
Just as the High Priest would purify the Temple, when we conquer our lower tendencies, we purify the miniature sanctuary within our own hearts. This teaches us the remarkable value of our everyday choices. Each decision where we choose goodness over temptation is a victory that elevates not only ourselves but the world around us.
Remember, even if we must fight the same battles daily, our efforts are never in vain. Every act of resistance is precious and contributes to our personal growth and the sanctity of the world.
Embrace the struggle, for it is the hallmark of a life lived with purpose and an embrace of our divine mission.
