The Noon Hour Of Madness & Mayhem can be heard live on KBEAR 101 weekdays at 12pm MST. Viktor and Peaches talk about a wide variety of topics depending on the day and you never know what to expect!
[upbeat music] The noon hour of Madness and Mayhem, the podcast.
Yo, fools. It's the noon hour of Madness and Mayhem. Sup, Peaches?
I thought you were about to talk like DJX there for a second.
Nope. I already did my DJX yesterday, so not today. Hold on, I dropped my phone. You, you talk.
Um, so yeah, it's the noon hour of Madness and Mayhem. I am Peaches.
Oh.
And, uh ... You okay?
Yeah, just, uh, you know, I'm old. [laughs]
I get it.
So bending, bending down [laughs] to pick up a phone. I, I should have stood up to do it, not tried to do it from the chair.
I went to my, uh, PT appointment yesterday, and, uh,
he had me do these, like, exercises, these core stabilizing exercises.
Mm-hmm.
But he was also having me do these lower back exercises.
Hmm.
And he's like, "Dude, you're too big for this machine. This is the first time this has happened."
[laughs]
And it, it was that, th- that weird thing where you're like, you're, you're stood up at, like, an angle, and you have to, like, bend down and then go back up-
Okay
... using only your glutes and your hamstrings.
Mm-hmm.
I started to get a leg cramp on that machine.
Oh.
Yeah.
Dang it.
I found out I don't engage those muscles all that often, so I need to ... I mean, he had me doing these leg lifts on my side on the ground. I, I was laying there like one of those French girls. Like, draw me, like-
[laughs]
... one of those French girl poses. A- and then he's like, "Lift your leg up," and I'm lifting my leg. Luckily I wore compression shorts yesterday. I learned my lesson from the last time.
Mm. [laughs]
'Cause last time I had my boxers.
Yeah, yeah, I remember you telling that story.
And these ones have-
Making see-through boxers
... warming cheese on them with smiley faces.
[laughs]
I'm glad ... I, I don't have PT today. I have my counseling appointment, so-
Ah, very nice
... like, I could just, uh, walk in there and be like, "Hey, you wanna see my undies?"
Yeah, I've been thinking about lining up maybe PT 'cause of my, my wrist here, but I was like, "Eh, I don't want anybody to really touch it." And then I should probably go back to counseling. Uh, I just kinda started slacking on it.
Oh, really?
Haven't scheduled any appointments in a long time.
Huh.
So.
I wonder what they'll have you do for your wrist.
I-
Like forearm curls?
I- I don't know, but I'm not going in yet 'cause it still, like, hurts, and you know they beat you up at PT.
Oh, yeah.
So.
There was, there was suction cupping my back yesterday. [clears throat]
Yeah.
Getting the cup back there, getting the, the red marks all, all
visible. I don't know.
I never had the, the cup treatment-
Oh
... but, uh ...
And luckily it's not like the Chinese m- way where it's like you get the, the, the, the, the lighter and then you, you know-
Oh, yeah
... they, they, they don't do that, that whole thing.
No, it's just like a, a suction.
Yeah, it just sucks-
Yeah
... and he moves it around and-
Mm-hmm
... gets the, the, the ... Something called the fascia. I don't know.
Mm-hmm. Well, I hope it's helping you, Peaches. And-
It is.
It-
I'm learning a whole lot about what to do, how to s- uh, core stabilize. I, I told the guy that how much weight I've lost. He was in shock.
Dude-
So
... PT's good stuff, man.
Yeah, yeah.
You know, once I discovered PT, I was like, "Wow." It's, uh, uh, it's fixed me up a lot of times. You know, um, for a while there, back pain just relentless, and they got me fixed up, dude. And it's been-
I think it's because I, I-
... pretty good
... sleep in such a weird position. I'm on my right side with my arms crossed like I'm a- I'm in a coffin.
Yeah, that sounds different.
Yeah.
But, mm.
But then now I, now, now ever since he showed me the whole pillow trick-
Mm-hmm
... putting a pillow between my legs, that's what I, [clears throat] that's what I do now.
Oh, I wanted to make a joke so bad-
Okay
... but I'm not gonna. Not gonna. [laughs]
Do you know what I mean? You can just turn the mics off and make the joke that way.
[laughs] Yeah, I'll, I'll, I'll tell you while we go to break.
[laughs] Okay.
[upbeat music] It's the noon hour of Madness and Mayhem. I'm Victor.
I'm Peaches. I don't know where we were going with that last break. I meant to drive it to this one particular post that I a- already talked about on my prerecorded afternoon show because I've, I have a whole bunch of stuff I gotta do this afternoon, so I'm like, "Let me get the afternoon show done right as I get here this morning."
Yeah. Makes sense.
And I, I Google Chatted you. Is that what, is that how you ... Is that what you call it?
Oh, yeah. And, uh, I ... People do that from time to time, and I never notice. So-
Uh, me and Maddy will talk back and forth-
[laughs]
... quite a lot on there. Um-
So here's what you sent me. A 6'7" ...
[laughs]
Looks like a Tootsie Roll man.
That's Ton Ton's of Her. Get it right.
[laughs] I don't know what that is.
Ton, Ton, Ton, Ton, Ton's of Her.
Okay. I don't know what it is. I know 6'7", of course, but ...
I, I just did the dance for those listeners t- uh, l- listening right now.
[laughs]
[laughs] Okay, Peaches. So-
I'm a sigma.
[laughs] Gonna drive me nuts with this Gen Z slang today.
Yeah, I'm slang maxing right now, dude.
[laughs] Slang maxing.
Chat, are we cooked?
[laughs] Ugh, ugh. The, the listeners my age are like, "What's he talking about?" [laughs]
I did the 6'7" dance in front of Jeff. I went, I went by his office and just started doing the whole thing. [laughs]
[laughs] So you Google Chatted him this as well?
[laughs] He ... Yeah, I, I sent it to everybody. I sent it to Josh, you, Maddy. I almost sent it to the big boss man. [laughs]
[laughs] You should have.
Kevin's like, "How'd you guess my age?" No, I'm just kidding.
Oh. [laughs]
[laughs]
[upbeat music] It's the noon hour of Madness and Mayhem, and Peaches had something to talk about the last couple breaks, but we just never got to it.
[laughs] There's a link above that GIF. I know that GIF is distracting.
Oh, there is a link there. Sorry, I just saw 6'7"
This was posted in r/unpopularopinion. [laughs]
[laughs] Unpopular opinion, adults should engage in horseplay.
[laughs]
[laughs]
All right. This post says, "Horseplay should be forced into adult culture." [laughs]
[laughs]
Nothing extreme, just light to moderate horseplay among adults who know each other well or even just vaguely. Everyone's too stressed in life and needs a bit of rough and tumble fun. [laughs]
That's right. Come over here, Victor. I got the mat all set up.
[laughs] No. No horseplay.
Come on, Victor.
[laughs] No horsing around in here, Peaches.
Put on your best singlet.
[laughs]
Let's oil up.
[laughs] Oh my God. We had a little bit more horseplay. [laughs]
I'm gonna look like Randy Orton hitting that pose.
Oh, this guy says that ... Oh, I don't know if it's a guy, but whoever made this post ... [laughs]
[laughs] Did you see the top res- response?
Uh, not yet-
I, I-
... 'cause I'm just enjoying reading through the post
It says, "HR executive to new 18-year-old hires-
[laughs]
... 'All right. Here's your mandatory horseplay with six senior executives.'"
[laughs] Oh, geez. So they said, "I'm sick and tired of the idea that touching someone is some sort of crime, but when we're-"
Right, come over here, Victor.
[laughs] Yeah. You need to have permission to touch people. You can't just initiate horseplay.
I wanna touch you.
[laughs] Come, come here, let's, uh, let's do some horseplay.
Peaches touching party.
This person says, "I wanna wrestle my coworkers to the ground." [laughs]
[laughs]
Or sneak up and hit my boss in the face with a pillow. [laughs]
[laughs]
Just some light horseplay.
[laughs]
Come here, Jade.
[laughs]
I know you're way outside my weight class, but come on.
Wow. Yeah, they, they, they go on and on. They're like, "Animals do this their entire lives. We're animals, too. It's in our nature." I guess Jess, our oldest cat, she is the wildest one. She runs around, get the zoomies. She's always trying to horseplay with the other cats. Guess that's cat play. Cats can't horseplay, can they?
Uh, if they gallop.
[laughs] I've seen a cat k- kind of gallop.
Yeah.
So... [laughs]
Imagine the focus meetings.
Yeah.
Mandatory h- mandatory horseplay. [laughs]
Will you bring this to the promotions meeting Monday?
All right, all right. Everybody, I want you to know that, uh, we have now, uh, initiated horseplay into this meeting.
[laughs]
We're gonna dev- we're gonna pair up.
It's like one of those mandatory team-building exercises.
Oh, gee, mandatory team bui- horseplay team-building.
Yeah, it's, uh, and you always pick Jade so you can take him down.
[laughs] Oh, yeah. Yeah, he'd, he'd just topple over. You know, a light breeze.
Yeah, 'cause I could, I could probably go with, like, Colby. He's like the only one big enough for him, thing.
Yeah. And we, we'd got-
And that guy's gonna throw me across the room.
This is true. I, I would like to see you and Colby square up and just have a shoving match. A little light horseplay.
No. No, he's gonna full, he's gonna-
[laughs]
... chuck me across the hallway.
[upbeat music]
It's the noon hour of madness and mayhem.
I wish we could joke about what we were just joking about-
Oh, yeah
... on the air.
Yeah. That, that was good times, Peaches.
Oh, yeah.
Just-
Especially yesterday with the whole video that we were watching of, I live my life every day like it's 1958.
[laughs] Oh, God. I forgot about what, what was her name, Lisa?
Lacey Fay.
Lacey Fay.
And she's an influencer, too. She's faking it.
Oh, for sure.
Like she's recording-
For sure
... with an actual phone. She doesn't have
... Did they have rotary phones back then?
Um-
What, what did they have back then?
I, I, I would assume a rotary phone, but I don't know about phones with actual buttons.
She has a whole, like, phone booth.
[laughs] Yeah.
In, in her house.
She's got an old-fashioned telegraph with the crank wheel. You know, and you put the one piece up to your, your ear and the other part you talk into. Uh.
She doesn't allow her son to have Spotify. They have a jukebox.
Oh.
That they-
I mean, a jukebox could be cool
... he has to enter, he has to actually insert quarters into
[laughs] It's all music 1958 or earlier.
Oh, here. Okay. What was the number one song back in 1958?
Oh.
We gotta find this out.
Music didn't even get good till the '60s. So let's find out. [laughs]
Hit songs of
1958.
Let's see.
It says number one,
V-
That's what I'm seeing
... Volare, Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blue. What?
Yeah. I ... By Domenico Modugno.
Oh, no.
Do you know this song?
No, I saw other major hits of 1958. Tequila by the Champs. Is ... Tequila.
That song-
Da, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun.
That song's that old? Huh. I guess when I think of that song, I just think of the Cheech and Chong movie, so ... Let's hear the number one single from that year. This is, uh, Volare and Nel Blu ... I don't know how you say the rest of it here, but let's check it out. Domenico Modugno. Penso che un sogno così
Sounded like he casted a spell.
Non ritorni mai più
Mi dipingevo le mani
Can I just say-
E la- Thank God for the Beatles coming along-
[laughs]
... and changing music. [laughs]
Did you see ... So I went to Wikipedia and I looked up, like, the hot 100-
Mm-hmm
... of, uh, 1958. The, the Chipmunks song, Christmas Don't Be Late by the Chipmunks with David Seville.
Oh, yeah. I mean, you've got Yakkity Yak. You remember that one?
Yeah. Poor Little Fool by Ricky Nelson. Pull that one up.
Poor Little Fool by Ricky Nelson. Hold up.
I think that's the name of my PT doctor.
[laughs] All right.
Hard to type with this stupid wrist brace on.
Oh, it says right here, though,
Jailhouse Rock by Elvis Presley was the biggest selling single of 1958.
Okay. All right. And ev- everybody's heard that song. Here's Poor Little Fool. [upbeat music] Sounds like what I would think- I used to blame my outward parts ... music from 1958 would sound like. Hasten every- And you know what? I think Elvis is overrated, Peaches.
Whoa.
Yeah.
Hot take.
Hot.
Hot take.
I think, uh, Elvis should have learned to write his own songs.
Elvis, I don't believe, ever wrote a single song. Is that, is that true?
I wasn't around.
[laughs]
Oh, I, I wouldn't know.
Jade.
I didn't know him personally. Yeah, you'd have to ask Jade.
[laughs] Did Elvis write any songs?
[laughs] We should just put pictures of Jade in, in old photos. [laughs]
Yeah, they say ... Uh, well, Google AI Overview says Elvis did not write the vast majority of his songs. Instead, he was primarily an interpretive artist who relied on professional songwriters and publishing deals.
What a schmuck.
Yeah.
What a phony.
Uh. So he, he'd come up with the ways to sing the lyrics, I guess. [laughs] I'll do it this way.
Hey, if, if Jade's listening right now, 'cause I know he's, uh, he's out of town, but I know he's probably eavesdropping. But, uh-
Yeah
... I, I thought of a great Halloween costume idea. He can be skinny Elvis. I'll be fat Elvis.
I like it.
Yeah.
I like it. Let's, let's make it happen.
I'll just sit on the toilet and, you know.
[laughs] All right, Peaches.
[laughs]
That's bad taste.
Oh. Too soon? [laughs]
Too soon, Peaches. [upbeat music] The Noon Hour of Madness and Mayhem is a production of Riverbend Media Group. For more information or to contact the show, visit riverbendmediagroup.com. [upbeat music]
