Hey everybody, welcome back to another episode of the Breakthrough Church podcast. Glad to be with you. Quick shout out to Sal Horan for his word last week. I appreciate what he had to say and it's a joy to do ministry with him. He's a deep well, so thank you, Sal. If you can't tell, my voice is still not 100%, but it's better. so because of that, I'm gonna keep this a little shorter today. But I wanted to give you

A quick recap of Summit and our All Church Retreat we had this last weekend and then tell you about some things coming up briefly. Okay, so Breakthrough Summit was amazing. God showed up and met us and it exceeded my expectations, honestly. I was already expecting going in. I knew God was gonna move, but then when you see it, you're like, it's just better than I thought.

The whole retreat was based on Mark 3 when Jesus takes his disciples up a mountain, hence the word summit. He takes them up the mountain, and he appoints them as apostles that they might be with him and that he might give them authority to cast out demons and heal the sick and preach the kingdom. So I really wanted to equip our people with the knowledge that they have authority and because of that authority,

they have the right to exercise that authority over the things of this world and the kingdom of darkness. So healing the sick, we spend most of our time on healing the sick. I would say a lot of our time on healing the sick and a lot of it on blessing prayer. And what I mean by that is instead of somebody saying, I need peace, I have anxiety, instead of going to God and saying, God, would you give...

Sharon Peace, I'm making that name up, but could you give Sharon Peace, God, in Jesus name? Instead of turning to God and turning your back on the person, you actually turn to the person with God at your back and his authority in your heart and in your body, you can actually impart to them and bless them with peace because you have it and you can give it because you're a part of the kingdom of God. So then it would look like, Sharon, I bless you in the name of Jesus with peace that surpasses all understanding. Amen.

did some equipping on that, it was really good. And then we did healing, healing prayer. And the same thing goes, that healing is on the table for us as members of the kingdom of God. And we can grab it, we can give it out. And God is so willing to heal those who come to Him in faith. So I had a friend there named Chewy who works for Novo, this nonprofit helping people be activated in prayer. He came and equipped us with some content and some activations in this. And during the activation, we had people come up

Or anybody kind of raised their hand if they needed prayer for healing. There's one woman that wanted prayer for something and I'll just keep all this confidential, but we ended up praying for her and she really was getting touched by God and I was able to pray for her and give the group, all 24 of us, all 23, not counting me, tips and like real-time feedback. This is why I'm doing this. This is what's happening right now. It was just so good and God was touching her and then God healed some other people and all in this...

prayer lab. Like we're just learning together and remodeling it and God showed up and it was so powerful. And then we had a baptism of the Holy Spirit service that night where I taught on the baptism of the Holy Spirit and we just invited the Holy Spirit to come. And so many testimonies from that time. People hearing the voice of God, people feeling the touch of God on their bodies like tingling hands and heat and warmth in their chest and just the Lord was meeting us and so there were some people having some

slight shakes in their hands and just feeling the power of God. And it was really powerful. Like people hearing, like seeing visions and stuff for the first time. And just really cool, really exciting. And we came back and I've already received text messages of people that are already applying this stuff, like blessing people in prayer and praying for Uber drivers and just carrying the kingdom of heaven in their everyday life. It's so powerful.

I was just so excited about what God did there, but it's all about the fruit, right? And what's coming after this. But I really feel like it accelerated our culture in a way that people know, okay, this is what we're about. We're kingdom carriers. We get to bring the kingdom of heaven wherever we go. And there's just excitement and there's clarity.

And it really established the community piece of it too. It was 24 hours, so I wish we could have gone longer, but I feel like people were excited about being a part of Breakthrough Church. It's like their family, church family now. And just super excited about that.

Yeah, okay, so there's Summit, Recap. I wanna share, so my voice, just briefly I wanna share my journey with this, because I think it has some applications. I've been struggling for 16, 17 days with a hoarse voice, and it's better today, which may sound crazy to you, but it's better today. I'd say I'm at 75%, 80 % there, but yesterday I was trying to get a doctor's appointment with an ENT.

And they said basically, next available was March 17th. It's February 3rd at the time. And I was like, gosh, really? I mean, that's really frustrating. But I was pretty disappointed, pretty discouraged. But I remember something that someone said in a book that I'm reading on how to pray for healing. And a lot of the times asking somebody that comes forward for prayer, this question is really helpful. What do you believe God is willing to do for you right now?

And then whatever they tell you, you agree with them in faith on that point and not beyond, but that point, and you pray for it. And I thought, okay, I'm gonna be the patient here, and I believe God is willing to heal my voice today. So I'm gonna act on that. I'm gonna act as if that's really true. That's what faith is. It's active. It's putting legs to your faith. So I put legs to it and I thought, I'm gonna text Sal, I'm gonna go to his warehouse and I'm gonna have him pray for me, because I believe God wants to heal me today.

So I texted him, said I'm on my way. He said, great, I got there. We prayed for like an hour. And throughout the rest of the day, my voice got gradually better throughout the day. this morning I woke up and it was still feeling much better. So my encouragement to you is like faith matters. I'm not saying you're not healed because you don't have faith. There is mystery to this. There is God's sovereignty to this. But when you read the gospels, you see faith matters to Jesus.

And it releases the power of God into your body. And when we come with genuine faith, Jesus meets you there. And even if you don't feel it, faith is not an emotion. Faith is belief and action together. I believe God can and will, therefore I'm going to act as if that's true. So go get prayer. Get like, like actively, even if you don't feel like it, even if it's inconvenient.

in faith move towards Jesus, go to somebody who can pray for you, come to breakthrough on Saturdays, let us pray for you. I believe God responds to people who come to him in faith. And that's kind what we talked about at summit, but it's also real life for me right now. And I'm not fully recovered yet, but in faith, I believe he is going to do that. So be encouraged with that. If you're like, man, my faith is so low, how do you build faith? Faith comes through hearing and hearing the word of Christ.

So go open your scriptures. Look at the stories of Jesus healing. Go back to some former episodes of this podcast. Listen to testimonies of God healing people. Hearing builds faith. Hearing the word of Christ, hearing testimonies builds faith. And then ask the Holy Spirit. He's the author and perfecter of faith. Ask him to author it in you. He will do that. I promise. He did it for me last week. I was low on faith. I needed help. I asked him to help. He gave me faith. So.

Lastly, we got prayer, Wednesday nights at 630, service at five o'clock this Saturday, February 7th. We're also gonna have dinner, Chipotle right after church at about 630-ish, depending on when we get done. So come worship, encounter Jesus with us, and then eat dinner with us. We'd love to have you. And then February 21st at 10 a.m., that's a Saturday, we are going to do an outreach evangelism event.
