It is 20 hours past midnight and poof voila like magic all the indie goods are ready, fair listener! Hearty salutations to all of you tuned in whether now or later, and it is once again time to bring the quality on our Under The Radar Tuesday night, where we go through all the new indie & underground stuff just out, along with maybe a slept on joint or two in the process. Lots of great new stuff to check out from Stevie Zita, Matt Corby, Wednesday, and many many others for the full two hours tonight, but before we get into that, we gotta get into the history that at US schools tragically seems to go on & on & on. THIS is The Drop.

Facts
Band of Gypsys – Machine Gun (Live)
- That was Jimi Hendrix and his Band of Gypsys back on New Year’s Eve at the Fillmore East in New York. This performance would see Jimi’s final new year’s ever celebrated, and much like that, tragedy has once again pulled the trigger in the US.
- A former student wallked into a private school in Nashville, TN and opened fire, killing three kids and three teachers.
- Now, as somebody of my age who’s seen this go from Columbine and the breathless non-stop coverage to a normal everyday occurrence is absolutely baffling to me and extremely sad. Mass shootings now have become commonplace, and simply put this is no way for a society to function. I’ll just leave it there.
Postcard Boy feat carwash – Polka-dot
- For those uninitiated, this is the project of 19 year-old Garrett Seamans who’s based in SD.
- The music is definitely finding an audience since Seamans made debut in 2020, and this would be the artist’s first new music since 3 years ago.
Wednesday – TV in the Gas Pump
- Admittedly this is the latest single from a big album that in April via Dead Oceans.
- Wednesday is a band out of Asheville, NC and the new LP is called Rat Saw God, with the video accompanying this tune being a tour-inspired trip, go check it if you got some time.
Cathedral Bells – All Under The Sky
- This is a really nice dream pop outfit who hail from Florida, and this track is a precursor to the trio’s upcoming album Everything At Once.
- The album drops May 19, so mark it if you were givin that one all the feels.
Rook Monroe – Free Woman
- For those that do not know this artist, born Krysten Watkins, this is a name especially if you’re a Rihanna fan, as he was a long-time songwriter for the rnb star.
- Since 2020, he has been releasing music under this moniker, with this being the latest work.
The Temper Trap – Under The Milky Way
- This is a cover of a late 1980’s tune that won an ARIA Single of the Year Award back in 88, originally performed by The Church.
- This is the first single to be released by Mushroom Group as part of their 50th anniversary celebrations, this tune obviously being a massive legacy, amongst others.
Westerman – Take
- This is an artist we follow closely here on Tuesdays especially after debut in 2020 with the Your Hero’s Not Dead LP.
- This would be the latest single from that album’s follow-up effort due out on May 5 and titled An Inbuilt Fault.

Part 2
mehro – princes of melancholia
Matt Corby – For Real
Ouri – Twin
Baerd – Tell Me That You Love Me
Shannon Lay – From the Morning
Fleece – It’s The Life
Temples – Afterlife

Facts
mehro – princes of melancholia
- Just out as of last Friday is the artist’s sophomore LP Dark Corners and Alchemy, and if you’re not familiar, mehro has really been finding an audience.
- For those that liked that tune and wanna check out something very engaging, Dark Corners and Alchemy cannot be recommended highly enough.
Matt Corby – For Real
- Also just out last Friday is Matt Corby’s 3rd career album called Everything’s Fine.
- For those not familiar, Corby is a veteran singer-songwriter out of Australia who’s achieved great success by being basically what that song is, real.
Ouri – Twin
- For those not familiar, Ouri hails from Quebec and describes her art as holding the intangible and singing the unseen.
- Very lush soundscapes, cinematic arrangements in the discog if you wanna dig further which I certainly do myself.
Baerd – Tell Me That You Love Me
- For those of you who wanna be confused maybe later on when trying to remember, I have something for you, as this is a the project of Nashville-based Isaiah Beard.
- Beard describes their primary influence as the sound of water fluttering between their toes.
Shannon Lay – From the Morning
- This is a teaser single to Covers Vol 1 by the artist, who appears courtesy of Sub Pop.
- That tune we just heard is a Nick Drake original, and the album drops April 14.
Fleece – It’s The Life
- For our penultimate tune, we return to Montreal with this LGBTQ+ band.
- Just a standalone for now, the self-described 4 best friends eschew labels, which is definitely reflected in the collective’s diverse offerings.
Temples – Afterlife
- To finish the first half tonight, we go with another favorite label of ours in ATO.
- Temples will be dropping their 4th career album on April 14, and that is titled Exotico so keep an eye out for that one.

Part 3
Ayleen Valentine – epitaph
Butter Bath – Love You Now
Stevie Zita – Onyx Eyes
Love Seats – Night at the bar
Chelsea Days – Twisted
Jealous of the Birds – Morse Code
pecq – Left Behind

Facts
Ayleen Valentine – epitaph
- This is an artist born & raised in Miami and this weekend saw Valentine release a new 7” single titled a/b__2.
- The single features this tune on the near side which we just heard, and another joint called I can’t stop dreaming of you on the far. Good music from a very talented independent artist right here, we highly recommend a deeper dive.
Butter Bath – Love You Now
- More Aussie love for tonight’s playlist, this one from an indie Tuesday favorite here on The Drop.
- This is the first single to an upcoming EP which will come out later in the year, after returning to home base in Sydney after making music in LA & London recently.
Stevie Zita – Onyx Eyes
- As always a man after our own heart here at Drop Central, one of our favorites out of Toronto here is singing about being mesmerized by dark eyes.
- Just a standalone single for now, and as always big up to Stevie.
Love Seats – night at the bar
- Another favorite here on Tuesdays, this is a duo out of OKC in the US.
- This would be the band’s first single to drop right on the heels of their latest album which came out in full one week ago today, titled Time Tapes, Vol 1.
Chelsea Days – Twisted
- One of the latest gems from Nice Guys, who are based in France.
- The tune is the latest single to the artist’s upcoming EP titled sincerely, which is out May 23.
Jealous of the Birds – Morse Code
- This is the solo project of Naomi Hamilton, who is based in Northern Ireland.
- With this tune, the highly acclaimed artist announced a new album called Hinterland, which is out May 19. If you like what’s coming up next, give this artist’s music a deeper dive, it’s quality.
pecq – Left Behind
- (Sp.) this is a band out of the UK that has been a regular here on Tuesdays in the past and that looks like it is in no way slowing down.
- This tune just out is the first single to the band’s upcoming album called Amensia’s Ritual, which is out May 9 and we cannot wait.

Part 4
Fairhazel – Rhododendron
7ebra – Lighter Better
Phameon – On The Floor
CarKiss – Days
Donzii – For The People
Art School Girlfriend – Close to the Clouds
kelz feat Alex Siegel - Sometimes

Facts
Fairhazel – Rhododendron
- This is the moniker of UK/South African artist Hugh MacDonald.
- MacDonald, who’s grown up in Brighton, Cape Town, and Paris through the years, says that this song is a late night joint and warns that it is highly addictive, which…I suppose is too late to offer to you, fair listener.
7ebra – Lighter Better
- (Sp.) is a duo out of Malmo, Sweden and this is a single from the band’s upcoming LP that is due out May 5.
- The album is titled Bird Hour, and keep an eye on this pair, they’re doing some interesting stuff.
Phameon – On The Floor
- This tune takes us back to Australia for some more beautiful dreamy dance music, which is very much a thing down under.
- This artist hails from Melbourne, and this is a standalone single for now.
Car Kiss – Days
- This is an artist t/n Caleb Allen Joseph, who you may know better as one half of the alt indie duo Broods.
- This is Joseph’s debut single, and deals with getting ready for another day at a dead end job.
Donzii – For The People
- Back to Miami for this joint, certainly different from earlier stuff out of South Florida featured here tonight.
- This is the title track to an album that is, like the music, a bit of an amalgam, which is Donzii’s last two EP’s along with two original tracks, and that just dropped last Thursday.
Art School Girlfriend – Close to the Clouds
- This is the solo moniker of Polly Mackey, whose sophomore album Soft Landing is due out in August.
- The artist says that the album percolates in small euphorias, elations in life that one needn’t reach far for.
kelz feat Alex Siegel – Sometimes
- This is a new single from kelz, which is the solo moniker of Vietnamese-American artist Kelly Truong.
- Here we see kelz teaming up with veteran Alex Siegel for our final track of the night, and we’d recommend the latest records from either, both of which dropped last year.
