Prayer Prompts
Midday
Imagine the transition from a baby who cries to be fed, to a child who trusts that a meal will come. In your walk with God, where do you most need patience and reassurance as you wait on Him? Pray and ask God to give you peace as you trust in Him and His timing.

Evening
What matters are you concerning yourself with that are outside your control or beyond your understanding? Give these things to God in prayer, and ask for help in letting go of burdens that are not yours to bear.

McKay Vandenberg:

Today, we're going to continue our reading through the Psalms with Psalms one thirty one. The Psalm says, Lord, my heart is not proud. My eyes are not haughty. I do not concern myself with matters too great or too awesome for me to grasp. Instead, I have calmed and quieted myself like a weaned child who no longer cries for its mother's milk.

McKay Vandenberg:

Yes. Like a weaned child's soul. Like Yes, like a weaned child is my soul within me. Oh, Israel, put your hope in the Lord now and always. The Psalm is a great moment to take just a breath to relax ourselves and remember that in the Lord we have comfort, we have peace, we have faithfulness.

McKay Vandenberg:

The same way a weaned child is comforted by the arms of their parents, we too can have that relationship with our Lord. And I love that it doesn't get, too drawn out. It's just a quick reflection that allows us to be in the presence of the Lord. Now this doesn't say to not worry about anything, but it does encourage us to take those worries into the comfort of our Lord and Savior. Let's pray.

McKay Vandenberg:

Heavenly Father, as we navigate just all the different paths and stressors of life, Lord, help us to remember that in you comes peace, in you comes comfort and freedom from the anxiety and stress that we carry. Lord, help us to just be at your feet today and live in your glory, in your love, and in your care for us. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
