What is Charted?

Like a master surveyor, Jesus gives us clear directions to find a fulfilling, purpose-filled relationship with Himself - a map to the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Charted is a daily devotional written by the junior class at Fountainview Academy (Class of 2019). Based on the book Steps to Christ, this book explores the path to the Originator and Provider of Genuine Joy. We don't have to be confused about the way. The certainty is in the journey: divinely Charted.

When our prayers seem not to be answered, we are to cling to the
promise; for the time of answering will surely come, and we shall
receive the blessing we need most. – Steps to Christ, pg. 96
Lord, how am I supposed to do this? I have a chemistry test
in two days, my Bible group is presenting the same day, I need to
complete three devotionals by tomorrow, and right now I feel dead
tired! Why are you allowing this? I can’t do it all on my own, God!
You know that ever since my concussion, I’ve had the hardest time
trying to remember the simplest things, and some people call me
stupid because of it. How am I supposed to do it all? It’s just too
overwhelming! God, I need your help!”
With tears welling up in my eyes and the drizzling rain
seeming to correspond with my thoughts of defeat, I sit holding my
shattered determination in my hands. I can’t do this!
With a trembling heart and heavy feet, I stand, and slowly drag
myself to the window. I just need a breath of fresh air!
Glancing up, I see it: a rainbow—God’s beautiful promise to
me, a measly mortal. Perfect peace fills my heart as I begin to grasp
His power and unending love. He promises me: “I will never leave you
nor forsake you. Though the world may try to trample you under its
ruthless feet, I will always pick you up again. You are My daughter, and
I love you so much. Don’t worry about these earthly trials and worries
you’re facing today; I will guide you through each and every one of
them. With my power, you can do anything. Trust Me.”
