What is Noon Hour Of Madness & Mayhem?

The Noon Hour Of Madness & Mayhem can be heard live on KBEAR 101 weekdays at 12pm MST. Viktor and Peaches talk about a wide variety of topics depending on the day and you never know what to expect!

The noon hour of madness and mayhem powered by Jalisco's, the podcast. It's a solo noon hour of madness and mayhem powered by Jalisco's, but I am relieved, 100% relieved, that Victor texted me earlier this morning at around 10:30 saying that his precious little Lucy, his little kitten, had been found in one of his neighbor's garages. He was going door to door asking to check, and sure enough, he said her name out loud, and she started howling. She's now back home with him. I bet that feels like a giant weight lifted off of his shoulders.

I spent a good portion of the day yesterday traveling around my neighborhood since my place is essentially across from Victor's. So I drove around looking for any sign at all of a cat out in the snow. Luckily, Lucy is now back home. Any pet owner would know that's like losing a child, especially Victor because he just he loves his cats so so much. I did text him and ask if it was okay to talk about this on the air, and he wanted me to relay the message to you that he is just incredibly grateful for everyone sharing the post, getting involved, looking out for her, etcetera.

Oh, man. I am I'm actually genuinely happy now because I was getting ready for a grim week, and I was really, really hoping really, really hoping he would find her today. Someone would turn her into a shelter, maybe. I don't know. But, luckily, she was just in one of the neighbors' garages.

I did tell him, though, about the whole air tagging the collar, making sure that there's a tracker on her from here on out because, you know, cats get curious. They like to explore. They like to leave the house, but they will come back at some point. I did like all the helpful tips that I did see about leaving her litter box in the backyard or leaving it outside at least for her to smell a familiar scent and come back home. Luckily, Lucy is now safe.

We're starting off the show with amazing news. Alright. Now that we started off the hour with some great news, I was trying to find other things to talk about here. I went on to AskReddit, and there was a question that I thought people like myself could relate to, somebody who moved from one of the biggest cities in the world to East Idaho. You know, there's gonna be some culture shock, but, luckily, I sort of it wasn't too bad for me.

The snow was easy. The people have been extremely nice in person, not on Facebook. People who moved from cities to small towns, what was the biggest culture shock? And I I was going through these answers here. After 5 PM, it's effectively a ghost town.

That's not around here. I mean, we're not necessarily a small town. We're a small city. That's for sure. But we're not, like, no country for old men.

You know? We're not, like, just one bar in the middle of nowhere where everyone knows each other, that type of thing. That would be weird to go from, I don't know, a place like Los Angeles to what's the smallest city? Isn't there that one city here in the US that has, like, one person and it's some old lady? Smallest towns in America.

Let's see what pulls up gets pulled up here. Lotse, population 6, a town in Tulsa County, Oklahoma. That sounds so boring. McMullen, a place in Alabama, 32 people live there. Mound Mound is a village in Madison Parish, Louisiana, a population of 12, from the 2020 census.

It's it's Louisiana's smallest village by population. That's wild. Wild. I can't imagine going from some place like LA and going there. It would be a nice break, but after a while, man, it would just suck.

Let's see here. Of course, it matters where you've moved, but you enter a restaurant or bar. Everyone turns to see who who's come in. At first, it was off putting, then you realize they're just looking to see if they if it's someone they know, which is true. It was so funny.

Back when I, first moved out here, it was January 29, 2021. We're actually approaching the 4 year anniversary of that date back when my, dad and I, we were driving. He was driving the moving truck the moving van, I should say. I was driving the, my my car filled with things, and we, after 13 hours, finally got to Idaho Falls. I go inside the Chili's, and people are looking at us like, why are they wearing masks?

Because we were so used to it in California that you had to do that everywhere. We're like, oh, sweet. We can just take these right off. Very interesting thread on Reddit. I'm kinda I'm gonna read this more, off the air.

Gotta catch your breath now here on the noon hour of madness and mayhem powered by Jalisco's. I've been seeing conversations about this movie, on Twitter and other various social media websites. I know nothing about this, British British singer named Robbie Williams. I know Robin Williams, but I don't know anything about Robbie Williams. I'm sure.

Is he, like, a top 40 artist? Is he in our library for any one of our channels? He is on Classy with his song Angels. Okay. Interesting.

Well, there's a movie. There's a biopic about Robbie Williams, but for some reason, it's not him. It's a CGI monkey portraying Robbie Williams, and people were talking about it online saying it's a unique twist, but it did really bad at the box office. It tanked at the box office of $1,000,000 from 1200 over 1200 venues. The movie was produced for roughly a $110,000,000 acquired by Paramount for 25,000,000.

People, I think, are just done and over with the, biopics and the superhero films. There's really nothing original out there. There's remakes now. I think they're remaking oh, shoot. What was it?

It was another famous classic movie that they're wanting to remake. I did see they were trying to remake the classic Disney film Holes, which is one of my absolute favorites. There's no need to do any remake of that, and they're just trying to milk everything. Like, every movie now needs to have a sequel. It's very weird.

I could go on and on about this, but I don't wanna be, you know, harping on the fact. I've talked about this plenty of times. So, yeah, it's this whole that's a unique there's a weird idea to be like, you know what? Maybe we should take Robbie Williams. And instead of having him, we should instead have a CGI monkey tell his whole tell his whole story.

It's a weird idea. Wrapping up this solo noon hour of madness and mayhem powered by Jalisco's. I was really enjoying, over the weekend, the radio stations of Los Angeles as well as the overall community of LA getting together to help support those affected by the fires over in Southern California. And Justin from 105 The Hawk just forward me this email talking about how he he contacted the Red Cross last week for info on the fires and how people can help here. Basically, they sent over saying you can text CA Wildfires to 9 zero nine nine nine.

You can visit redcross.org or call 800 Red Cross to make a financial gift. That's the easiest way to support through a financial donation. I I was glad to see, my my fellow, LA radio DJ friends, you know, helping out of this place called the Dream Center out in Southern California, and they're collecting supplies. People are showing up to donate supplies. People are showing up to receive those supplies.

I'm glad to see also the numbers are going, down when it comes to the well, I shouldn't say down. I should say the percentage number going up when it comes to these various fires. The Hearst fire, 95% contained. The Eaton fire, still at 33, and the Palisades fire, the big one, unfortunately, at 14% contained as of 11 PM last night. I haven't gotten the official, number as of right now, but, it looks like the death toll has reached, unfortunately, 24, and I'm sure they'll continue to look for anybody else when the fire is officially out.

You know? But it's really sad to see this, but I'm glad to see the community coming together and really helping each other out. That's what I love, love, love to see. Anyway, I'll be back at 2 for the start of Peach's pit party. I'll leave you with some, well, quote, unquote, pop country from Bill Murray, the end on k Bear 101.
