Stop memorizing, start listening! Welcome to Learn By Listening, the English podcast designed specifically for young learners who want to understand English naturally. We believe that children learn best through stories, not word lists.
In each episode, we filled stories with mystery, humor, and fun characters. Whether it’s meeting a "tall ghost" who is actually just Grandpa, or traveling to a sunny day in Nara with a magic kimono, our stories use simple language that students can actually follow.
What makes us different?
Context over Lists: We use vocabulary from the standard curriculum (like family, feelings, and weather) but put them into exciting plots.
Perfect for ESL: Spoken clearly and at a pace that helps non-native speakers gain confidence.
Short & Sweet: Every episode is under 5 minutes—perfect for a morning listen or a bedtime story.
Join us and discover that you don't need to memorize words to speak English—you just need to listen!

Hello! I am Duncan.
Welcome to our English story time.
The weather is getting warmer and spring is approaching! Basetball season is finally here!

In Taiwan, we love baseball. It is our national sport. Last night was the first game of the season, and I was so excited. I want to tell you about the feeling of a baseball stadium. First, when you walk in, you smell the food. You smell popcorn, grilled sausages, and cold drinks. Then, you see the grass. The grass is so green and perfectly cut. It looks like a carpet.
I remember my first baseball game when I was a kid. I had a big leather glove. I waited and waited, hoping for a 'foul ball' to fly into my hands. I didn't catch a ball that day, but I fell in love with the game.
Why do we love baseball? I think it’s because of the tension. The pitcher stands on the mound. He looks at the batter. Everything is quiet. Then... whoosh! He throws a fastball at 150 kilometers per hour! The batter swings, and the crowd goes wild.
Do you play baseball? Or maybe you like the CPBL (Chinese Professional Baseball League)? My favorite part of the game in Taiwan is the cheering. The fans dance, they sing, and they bang drums. It’s like a big party. If you are feeling bored this week, go watch a game. It is the best way to spend a spring afternoon."
