When we sacrifice what's right for us, it's gonna cause us to feel miserable, hopeless.
Steve Lee (Host):Why is happiness so hard for us to achieve?
Dr. Laurie Santos:We look out on social media and see what the people around us have, and we think, well, I need that car. I need that new house. We're going after stuff that's just, like, not gonna work.
Dr. Nadine Burke Harris:So you're not broken at all, but you are vulnerable. How do I set my vulnerable little self up for success?
Daniel Lee (Host):I don't show up perfectly, and then I get more angry at myself.
Dr. Lauren Bochicchio:Shame, fear, and sadness, those emotions tend to be what live underneath a lot of anger.
Andy Johns:I was in a very very dark place and I said, like, I can't do this anymore.
Glenn Harrold:But there was always a part of me that wanted to do good in the world. You know, just didn't know how to do it.
Jeb Hurley:Be comfortable with being uncomfortable because often it is. You know, we look in that mirror and it's like, I don't like what I see. You know, you can go two ways.
Lisa Bilyeu:I was blaming my culture, and I was blaming my husband. And then I just realized, Lisa, your life's not gonna change unless you're willing to take ownership.
Dr. Dan Siegel:Love is the strongest thing. So the place you really find the other person is to realize you come from the same group.
Steve Lee (Host):Transformation is possible. No matter who you are, whatever age you are, you can change and build a totally different life.
Cassandra Carlopio:Your body is not failing you. Your body is actually trying to help you. It's just got the wrong message.
Dr. Neha Sangwan:If I tell them I made a mistake, they have never turned on me.
Dr. Stuart Ablon:There is only one reliable predictor of helping people to change. And what is that?
