Oil and gas prices fell sharply after President Donald Trump announced a deal to end the war with Iran and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a vital route for roughly 20% of the world’s oil and gas. Brent crude dropped to $83 a barrel and West Texas Intermediate to $80, while LNG prices also slid. On Truth Social, Trump declared, “The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete,” adding, “Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!” He later said the strait would reopen “upon the signing of the Deal on Friday, for purposes of mine removal.” The agreement is expected to be signed in Switzerland, though Iran has not publicly confirmed Trump’s claim that it will not collect tolls. U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright said Washington has been helping keep about 7 million barrels of oil per day moving from the Persian Gulf.

A new report from the Observatory on Intolerance and Discrimination against Christians in Europe, or OIDAC Europe, says anti-Christian hate crimes surged in May, with 37 verified incidents across 11 countries, including 13 arson attacks — the highest monthly total recorded this year. The watchdog called the trend “exceptionally high,” warning that “this continued prevalence of fire-setting against Christian sites remains one of the most serious patterns documented during the year.” Germany led with 10 cases, followed by Italy and France with eight each, including attacks on churches in Munich, Genoa, Rome, Paris and Lentigny. OIDAC also cited assaults on clergy and worshippers, including a Mass in Hanau, Germany, where projectiles shattered windows. Executive Director Anja Tang said public expressions of Christian faith still attract “disproportionate criticism and controversy.”

Chinese authorities are accused of escalating a crackdown on unregistered Christian worship after raiding a Sunday service at Early Rain Covenant Church in Jiangyou, where witnesses say 50 to 60 police and government personnel stormed the gathering and detained dozens, including children. ChinaAid reports church leaders Elder Yan Hong and Elder Wu Wuqing were among those taken for questioning, while the church said more than 30 members were “forcibly taken away in several police vehicles.” Even in custody, members “fellowshipped, sang hymns, and prayed until most of them were released.” Early Rain, founded by imprisoned pastor Wang Yi, has faced repeated pressure since a major 2018 raid. ChinaAid founder Bob Fu called the operation “another stark reminder” that the CCP treats “peaceful Christian worship as a threat to state control,” urging immediate release of those detained.

A Louisiana father is facing serious felony charges after investigators say he secretly gave abortion-inducing drugs to his pregnant 17-year-old daughter, triggering a premature delivery. Authorities say 39-year-old Jamelle Kelly of Carencro was arrested after the teen, reportedly dosed without her knowledge or consent, went into labor at 23 weeks and delivered a baby weighing about 1 pound. The infant remains alive and hospitalized. Kelly has been charged with attempted first-degree feticide and domestic abuse battery of a pregnant victim. Carencro Police Chief David Anderson says the investigation began last month and is still ongoing. SBA Pro-Life America seized on the case, saying the drugs were allegedly given “a full 3 months beyond the FDA-approved gestational age,” asking, “How many more women and unborn babies will be harmed by these dangerous drugs?”

Brazilian lightweight Mauricio Ruffy delivered a breakout moment at UFC Freedom 250, knocking out former title challenger Michael Chandler in the first round on the White House South Lawn before using the spotlight to share his Christian faith. In his post-fight interview, the 29-year-old quoted John 3:16 and told viewers, “Jesus saved my life; he wants to save your life, too. Give your life to Jesus.” Ruffy later wrote on social media, “Jesus completely changed my story,” adding, “Surrender your life to Jesus.” The win came after a punishing sequence ended Chandler’s night at 4:29 of Round 1. Ruffy then proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Nadine, saying, “Nadine, I love you.” UFC CEO Dana White called the White House card “a proud night,” saying, “Hopefully, we created some unity.”

The U.S. Supreme Court has declined to hear a free-speech challenge from a pro-life student group at Noblesville High School, leaving in place lower court rulings against student plaintiff E.D. and the Noblesville School District. The dispute began after Students for Life of America flyers included images with messages like “Defund Planned Parenthood” and “I Am the Pro-Life Generation,” prompting school officials to reject the flyers and briefly suspend the club. Justice Samuel Alito dissented, warning the court should step in “to clarify the relationship between Hazelwood and our subsequent government-speech decisions.” Writing for the 7th Circuit, Judge Nancy L. Maldonado said, “This is not a case about tolerating private student speech,” but about whether a school must “lend its resources — and, by extension, its authority — to disseminate student messages.” SFLA President Kristan Hawkins blasted the outcome as “extraordinary.”

Former NFL quarterback and Tim Tebow Foundation founder Tim Tebow is warning parents that smartphones have become an entry point for online predators using what he called “evil” new tactics to target children. Tebow, now partnered with Bark Technologies, said, “The same devices in our kids’ hands right now can be easy access points for people with the goal to do evil,” adding that “a phone can be a great tool for a family” but also “a door a predator tries to walk through.” Tebow recently backed the bipartisan Renewed Hope Act with Representatives Laurel Lee and Debbie Wasserman Schultz as identified victims in child sexual abuse cases reportedly surged from 57,000 in 2024 to more than 89,000 today. Now a father with wife Demi-Leigh Tebow, he says the fight is personal: “I’m not fighting for someone else’s kids anymore. I’m fighting for mine too.”
