Hello everyone! So, let's continue our study on Galatians two seventeen-eighteen. But if we seeking be justified in Christ, we ourselves have been found sinners. Is then Christ a minister of sin? May never be, for I rebuild what I have once destroyed.
Speaker 1:I prove myself to be a transgressor. Now, we know this is a conversation between Paul and Peter, where Paul is confronting Peter. So, let's see this thing. So, Paul asks a very simple question here. He asks: Is Christ a minister of sin?
Speaker 1:In the last podcast, we talked about how the law cannot justify us. The one thing about the law is that when you have a list of rules and regulations, and you try to keep them, you look as if you are trying your best to be holy. The fact remains that it doesn't help you become holy, but you're trying your best to become holy, you're doing something. But when someone trusts in the Spirit, they're saying, I trust in God. I have faith in God.
Speaker 1:And you are relying on God. You have that active faith in you, where you trust in God that He will work through you. So that gives an impression of someone who is planning to live in lawlessness. Right? So that's where trust comes in.
Speaker 1:So Paul is saying here, is Christ a minister of sin? Do you think what Christ has done in us is going to create sin in our lives? It's not going to multiply sin in our lives. We should understand something. There are other things which happen under the hood.
Speaker 1:So basically, we, before we were in Christ, we were sinners. Right? We were lost. We were spiritually dead. So when Christ was crucified, we were crucified with Him.
Speaker 1:So as a result, our body of sin has been done away with. This is what's written in Romans chapter six. Our body of sin has been done away with, and our spirit is recreated, and we are one with the Spirit of the Lord. It's mentioned in first Corinthians chapter six. And so what happens?
Speaker 1:Now we have a body that has been crucified. Our body of sin has been done away with. We want the things of God. Our old desires have changed. You might wonder why do you still feel those thoughts?
Speaker 1:Why do you still have those urges? That's because your mind has not been renewed to that yet. Your mind has not been renewed to the realities about you and the word of God. Your mind is still working on that old software. So, basically, you want the things of God.
Speaker 1:You like the things of God. You love it. You absolutely love it. And this is like a hand fits the glove. That is what you're waiting for.
Speaker 1:You've won the things of God. So that's what it happen happens here. When you're trying to justify through the law by a set of 10 commandments, through moral laws, through traditions, what happens is that you're going back into the old system that does not work. And you're saying that, God, I don't trust in what you've done. I still feel that I have to do certain things on top of it to make sure that I am still holy.
Speaker 1:Salvation, you need to have faith in Christ Jesus. And for your life after salvation, your walk in your day to day life, you still need to have faith in Christ Jesus and not based on the law. May God bless you all.
