Good morning and welcome. In today's Torah portion, we explore the structure of the priesthood during the time of the Mishkan and later in the Beis Hamikdash. As the number of Kohanim grew, a system of 24 shifts was established, allowing each family to serve for two weeks a year. This organization ensured that the workload was manageable and that every Kohen had the opportunity to participate in the sacred offerings.
We learn that even if a Kohen arrives outside his designated time, he can still bring his own sacrifices during holidays and partake in the additional offerings. This teaches us that devotion and desire to serve can transcend formal schedules.
The Torah also warns against the practices of the Canaanites, including idol worship and sorcery. Instead, we are encouraged to approach our faith with sincerity and trust in God, focusing on living a life of integrity without the need for divination or magic.
Let us embrace our connection to God wholeheartedly, walking in faith and righteousness. This podcast was produced and sponsored by Daniel Aharonoff.
