The New Rules of Disruption

To be competitive, it’s no longer enough to be innovative – you must have a strategy for disruptive growth, a plan to identify and seize an opportunity no one else has the audacity or confidence to reach for. Disruptors don’t just blow things up – they also create and build things that result in huge, positive change. Welcome to The New Rules of Disruption with Charlene Li.

What is The New Rules of Disruption?

To be competitive, it’s no longer enough to be innovative – you must have a strategy for disruptive growth, a plan to identify and seize an opportunity no one else has the audacity or confidence to reach for. Disruptors don’t just blow things up – they also create and build things that result in huge, positive change. Welcome to The New Rules of Disruption with Charlene Li. For the past two decades, Charlene Li has been helping people see the future and thrive with disruption. She couples the ability to look beyond the horizon with pragmatic advice on what actions work today. She helps executives and boards recognize that companies must be disruptive to compete, not just innovate.

Hi there, my name is Charlene Li. And the purpose of my work is to help leaders thrive with disruption. I believe that disruptive leaders are the key to addressing the most intractable problems and issues facing our organizations, communities, and society.

In a time of unprecedented change and turmoil, we need leaders who thrive at disruption and strive to make things better. We need leaders who don't just wave their arms in the air and talk about change but are capable of making it happen. And not just any kind of change, but disruptive, exponential transformative change, because we won't get to where we need to be if we play it safe.

And let's face it, most leaders don't have the luxury of sitting down with a good business book. Instead, they grab new ideas and inspiration wherever they can. And increasingly, it's through podcasts.

That's why I created this podcast to support and inspire leaders intent on creating disruptive change. Disruption is hard and often misunderstood. People avoid it rather than see it as an opportunity to change. I find myself often answering the same questions about disruption. So, I captured the core ideas of my work in this first season, which consists of 10 episodes laid out as the new rules of disruption.

Each week, new episodes we'll explore one of the new rules, often with the help of other experts and executives. I poured into these episodes I've poured into, I poured into these episodes, over 22 years of experience, the ideas from six best-selling books, and my work with hundreds of companies, including 14 of the Dow Jones Industrial 30 companies.

My hope is that this podcast will inspire you to step out of your comfort zone and to make disruptive change happen. Because when leaders like you grow confident in creating exponential change in growth, we all benefit.
