:
Enrique Iglesias already warned you, she gon make you move to Miami. He was talking of course of SBC Summit Latinoamerica, which already has the city buzzing and vibing with the best of the iGaming and sports betting industry in Latinamerica. I am Fernando Nott and I will be your host and guide during this new episode of iGaming Daily, straight from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, where the brightest minds and top decision makers in gaming have gathered for 3 days packed with knowledge, networking, and lots of opportunities. Today I am joined once again by the BOSS SVC Noticias editor Lucia Gando. How are you? Hello Fer, hello Lu, I'm so happy to be reunited with the original Latam team. Yeah, the OG, the OG peeps. Lu Mourinho, SVC VP of relationships, Latam. How are you? And welcome back to the iGaming Delta. I am very well, thank you. I'm really I'm laughing. I'm actually crying right now. Okay, okay. I didn't want to make you... I apologize for that. Yeah, don't cry. Don't cry. Don't cry for me, Argentina. Yes, don't. Yeah, I'm really happy that we are all together. And back for another SVC Summit Latino America, because all the cool kids attend... industry events and I can't think of a cooler kid than Ted Orme Clay who is actually right now at Sportel Monaco and will share a brief report on the event before the end of this episode. But we are going to go back to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel Casino where we are today, to SBC Summit Latin America and before we dive into the main event for iGaming and sports betting industry in Latin America I would like to thank for the support of OptiMove. the number one CRM marketing solution for the iGaming market. As a special offer, OptiMove is offering new clients a free first month when they buy OptiMove. For more information and claim the free month, go to OptiMove.com slash SBC. We will leave of course, like always links down in the podcast episode description so you can easily find them. So let's go back to the start, Lu. You are now on a relationships role, which is, which has you. to Isai on a previous episode. You are in contact with a lot of people in the industry. So right now I'm going to ask you to remove yourself of the SBC uniform. Of the broadcast? No. Okay. You scared me. No, no. You're not going to get out of it so easily. But remove yourself of your SBC outfit. Not literally, please. Even though the audience can't see us. We want to keep it professional. And I want you to step aside from your SBC role and... Tell us what do you think this event represents for the industry? Well, it's actually the last one from LATAM this year. And it's pretty much one of the last ones from the industry in general. And I think people like this event so much because they can gather at the end of the year, celebrate, summarize what they did, and look ahead to the new year, in this case obviously 2025. And yeah, I think that's why they enjoy so much. The venue is amazing. It's the last year here, so they are aware of it, and they're enjoying it as much as they can. Something that I noticed is that some people in the previous years, they came the day before the event, and some of them were running to them multiple times throughout the last weekend. And we asked them, hey, you arrived early. And they were like, yeah, I'm with my family. So I think they really enjoy the venue too. That's a great word to sum things up with SBC events in general, but especially with SBC Summit Latin America family. I think SBC has developed such an environment that makes everyone feel like one big family in the gaming industry. And so these types of events where we meet each other face to face and we get to do parties together, to of course do business because this is a business after all. together face to face. It's really important for everyone. I think it's really become a family. Of course, it sounds kind of like a phrase, you know, a bit corny. But yeah, I really do feel that way about SBC events. But let's go back now or let's go now to an editorial standpoint. This is a great opportunity, like I said. for many things and also to interview people face to face. Why don't you tease our audience with what they will be able to find on our website of course, SBC Noticias. Make sure you subscribe to the newsletter there and of course all the other platforms. Well we're happy because we have the whole Latin team that includes SBC Noticias and SBC Noticias Brazil. We also have other people from SBC Media from our other sites in English, SPC News, Casino Beats, etc. We are covering the whole event. People will have the chance to hear live interviews, podcasts, and then after the event, read about what happened in our panels. But also interviews, we have video interviews with a senator from Brazil. I want to... share any spoiler but yeah we have a senator from Brazil, cool affiliate people, Laura Gago, my favorite, head of operations of Betandil. We will be covering the whole activities we're having here and as you said it's a good place to meet face to face and do these interviews to dig into what's happening in the industry so you can... always trust SBC Media Team for that. Always trust SBC Media Team, especially SBC Latin America Media Team, like svcnoticias.com, svcnoticias.com slash VR. Make sure you go to both websites and subscribe to the newsletters there so you can keep up to date with the news. And in the event, of course, there will also be a massive conference agenda. We have a lot of... important sessions during the event and I'm happy to be part of one of them. It's actually World Cup 2026 prep. What did we learn from Copa America 2024? Because of course there's a lot of football going on right now in the United States. The Copa America was there and we have the upcoming of course the upcoming World Cup which will be also in Canada and Mexico but also in the US and I will be with Ignacio Turraspe, Director of Sales, Latam. for Opta and Stats Perform and Tomas Debenischeck, who is CEO of Keto Sports, talking about, of course, like the title says, lessons learned about what those tournaments that have already happened in the United States and how the betting market has behaved around, for example, the Copa America 2024 ahead of, let's say, of course, the World Cup in 2026, but also the club. World Cup in 2025 with a lot of the main teams in the world, of course, from all around the world. Speaking about the event, we want to highlight the connections, we want to highlight the content, the conference, the people in the hallways and everything, but particularly Lu, Lu Mourinho I'm talking about right now because we need to... make it clear to the audience which one of you is speaking because we have two Lucia's today so what are you most excited about for the rest of the event? of course the official party on wednesday we are going to the Chase stadium which is the home of the inter-miami i actually really hope to see Messi there and i am not joking i brought my Every time I go to an event and there's one like sports person slash celebrity, I don't have a jersey with me. And now this time I have one, so might as well, you know, get it signed. Yeah. I remember you getting your, your badge signed by Roberto Carlos at the SBC summit. And Diwu, Diwu Martinez as well. And Diwu Martinez as well. But also in Lisbon, I took a picture with Mascherano. If I had my jersey there, I would have had it signed. I wish I could get it signed by Antonella. By Antonella, okay. You can have your shirt signed by Antonella. If they are casually drinking mate around Chez Stadium and we run into Messi and Antonella. You never know. That's true. But besides getting your shirt, your jersey signed by Antonella Rocuzzo, Lugando, what are you most excited about? Well, of course the whole event because as we mentioned, it's the last one. And we, Luem and I, are the original organizers of this event. So it's kind of our project, our child. I actually can't believe like we actually did the whole digital events before we launched the first one. And yesterday I was talking to someone from SBC and I was saying we are one of the four people who have been here from the beginning. But actually. This person wasn't here from the beginning because we did the original ones, which were the digital ones. That's insane. It was like the whole team were just doing me. Can I mention something? So yesterday, I did the site visit for the new event that we're going to have next year, SBC Summit Americas in May. So you can sign up on the website. Save the date. Yeah, save the date. It's in May. And it's in the Broward County Convention Center. It is huge. And that is literally what we are merging, like the New Jersey event and the LATAM event. And thinking 50-50, like half of that event, it'll be LATAM. And like, it has come so far. Like, I can't believe it. Yeah, yeah. We wouldn't imagine back then how- No, not at all. No, yeah. Well, but of course I'm excited because this is the last one, but especially because- It ends on Halloween, my favorite season, my favorite party, my favorite holiday, sorry. And well, we have this spooky closing party that night. So I'm hoping to see everyone on cool costumes. I'm still thinking about mine, but I'm sure you figure something out. Yeah. I remember, for example, last year we had a Halloween party for the pre-wedge party on the first day. I remember, for example, Fernando Garita. wearing the Bowser costume for Mario so you need to top that one people so Can you remind your costume? My costume was actually just an apron and I was trying to go for the bear but everyone kept confusing me with the service so I don't recommend going for a bear cosplay Okay so you're all about party so far I ask you What are you excited about? And you said just parties, like the networking party at the Chase Stadium, the networking party for Halloween. But let's talk a bit about the conference side of the event. What panels or what sessions are you most excited about? It's funny because Lou and me are the less party girls in the whole industry. I think I would mention. Yeah, but that's what you mentioned. I'm just pointing out facts here. Yeah, that's true. That's true. Well, I'm excited about the roundtables. That's one of the latest features we added in SPC events. And it let us talk more freely about each topic, each market. This year, we have Brazil, Chile, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Colombia. We have experts from each market who will be able to help us with the roundtables. to talk about what's going on, what's been happening with regulations, with payments, with whatever sponsorships and people can just go there and have informal talks so that's good to get to know a little bit deeper each market yeah I feel like the roundtables are always very on demand for people like or in demand I'm sorry because like everyone wants to hear from what's going on in each market of their interest and they get to like ask directly to someone that's related to the market, which is an expert in that market and they can get their doubts and everything like cleared up right at that moment instead of just going and watching a panel and saying, okay, hearing what someone has to say about some topic that might be of course and will be of course of interest but might not answer to their specific questions exactly and that's what you get at the round tables and that's why always there's so much people you know so many people there and what about you what are you excited about or what are you looking to hear in the in the conference side of the event So there's one panel, well, I mean, there's multiple panels, but one specific one that's called Brazil's Bedding Boom, What's Next for the Market. Obviously, we haven't talked much about Brazil yet, but yeah, it is the biggest market, even though it hasn't been fully working like other countries from Latin. But I'm really excited about that one. And I think we actually have some really good speakers that people should go to the conference and listen to. This event covers the whole of Latin America and still Brazil takes a lot of the interest of everyone and everyone is trying to discuss Brazil because of course a lot is going on there and everybody wants a piece of the cake or a portion of the moqueca in Brazil. what's going on in Brazil, what opportunities there are and what they can accomplish in Brazil. But of course, we have a very specific and more ideal environment for those people, Lu. Yeah, that's the SBC Summit Rio, which is February 25th until the 27th. And it will be at Rio Centro, which is the biggest venue in Latin America. I had the chance to visit that venue and it is huge. I don't think people are ready for how huge it is. I would say bring your own personal fans because you're going to need them. It's going to be hard and yeah, it's going to be between different holes because of how big it is. We needed more space. So yeah, bring your summer clothes. Let me just share something that I forgot to mention before. At this event, it's not just about the panels, but 50% of the operators that will be here are from Brazil. which is something that we've never seen before in the LATAM events that are for the whole region and I think that paints a pretty clear picture of what's going on with the Latin American industry right now. And we know Brazilians love to party. Yes, they do. We have just announced a very important guest for the performer rather than guest. Of course, he will be our guest but in who's going to be performing at our networking party. So make sure you are there because not only you will be in line to one of the greatest events in the gaming industry in Brazil ever so far because probably the year after is gonna be even better. Sorry for the self-pat in the back. But yeah, the whole SBC team is working hard to provide you with the top. experiences in events and I'm sure SBC Summit Rio 2025 won't be the exception. Not to self promote the event but I would encourage people to register early because if not then there's a chance that they're gonna miss it. Like last year there's people who actually didn't register for the closing party and they couldn't attend so like people come on registrations are open. make sure to do it now so you secure a place for that infinity view. Yeah, yeah, make sure you don't leave everything for the last minute like I usually do. Yes, don't copy me. But that's all we have for today from us at SBC Summit Latin America. Thanks everyone for listening and we will meet again tomorrow with a recap. of what's been going on down here. Thanks, Anaya McDonald for producing this episode, for being so patient with us every time. And now we'll go to Insider Sport editor, Ted Ormclay, who is at Sportel Monaco. Goodbye. Hi, this is Ted Ormclay from the Insider Sport team, reporting live from Sportel Monaco. It's been a really interesting event so far. Been able to get some really good insights from quite a range of people from across the sports and sports tech space. yesterday you start, you know, hit the ground running with quite a big panel about sports sponsorship with some representatives with FIFA on there and the company that is handling the commercial side of things for the Italian Winter Olympics and Paralympics. There was also very interesting speech from the managing director international of the professional fighters league talking about its ambitions as co-leadership in MMA alongside the UFC and they managed to get a question in there about role that betting could play in this, it's engagement of the betting industry. Today we've had another couple of interesting panels on the future of cricket and some interesting perspectives on the use of data in that. I've just attended one about the Paris Olympics where we heard from some of the people who were deeply involved in the broadcasting side of things around that tournament and we've got another very interesting session coming up later today with the president of the league talking about audio visual fraud. It's really a who's involved in sports tech and sports innovation and just the sports business at large. The show floor is full of a load of massive stakeholders, the NBA, the NHL, you know, all the big American leagues, as well as quite a few others. A lot of very niche sports tech firms, a lot of talk around artificial intelligence, as you'd expect, given how prominent that's been in the sports sector over the past couple of years. So, yeah, overall been... really solid events and good content for us to cover and I'd encourage anyone to keep an eye out on Insider Sports for some of the articles and interviews we're going to have coming out. Thanks very much.
