Show Notes

Texas has no shortage of churches and ministries, but every once in a while I meet leaders whose story truly stops me in my tracks.

On this episode of The Jeff Crilley Show, I sit down with Brandy and Joachim Rangel, the husband and wife team behind Brandy Rangel Ministries in Seguin, Texas.

Brandy’s journey is nothing short of remarkable. As a child, she was diagnosed with rheumatic fever and told she would never walk again. Later, doctors said she would not live past 26 due to a heart defect. She recently turned 50.

She is not just surviving. She is thriving.

Today, Brandy and Joachim lead a nonprofit ministry focused on reaching those who feel lost, forgotten, or trapped in cycles of abuse. They work with survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking, offering spiritual guidance, practical support, and when needed, connecting people to additional resources.

What struck me most was this, Brandy does not speak from theory. She is a survivor of abuse herself and spent seven years in counseling to ensure she was fully restored before stepping into ministry to help others. One of her favorite success stories involves helping a woman safely leave an abusive marriage and rebuild her life. That is impact.

Joachim’s steady support and shared passion for serving the community make this a true partnership. Together, they are committed to helping people understand their identity, their worth, and their purpose.

If you or someone you know feels lost, overwhelmed, or in need of support, this conversation is powerful and hope filled.

These are those stories.

Coming up next on The Jeff Crilley Show, I once was lost, but now I'm found. We're gonna be talking to the husband and wife team behind Brandy Rangel Ministries next. Many are predicting that the worst is yet to come, which is unfortunate, said one person here. Until now, they've enjoyed the reputation of being the nation's icebox. Watched a burglar in his home this morning by webcam. As a journalist of over twenty five years, stories are what make my world turn. Reporting live from The Dallas Newsroom, tonight, Jeff Crilley, Fox four news. But in 2008, I took the jump from my familiar life and started a PR firm from my home. We're talking about anyone with a camcorder like the one I'm using becomes a television We started slowly growing the company and we now have over a 100 clients and we've branched into the world of live digital broadcasting. I now own eight different TV studios and have a huge team. And the stories that I now get to share are sometimes the most important of my life. Life has a funny way of coming around full circle. This is The Jeff Crilley Show. Alright. We live in Texas, which means there's a church, synagogue, temple, and ministry on almost every street corner. But I I searched high and low and I found an amazing husband and wife team that run a an amazing ministry in Seguin, Texas. And I invited them both on the show. So Brandy and Joachim Rangel are on the show. Thanks for coming on the show. Thank you, It's our pleasure. Well, okay. Let's start with you, Brandy, because the the ministry is named after you. Tell us about the ministry. So we are a nonprofit who reaches the lost. Our goal is to help them to find Jesus, to change their life. We also do nonprofit for domestic violence and for human sex trafficking. Okay. So you're a husband and wife team. So Joachim, tell us about this ministry and and why you're so passionate about it. Oh, this ministry is doing well. We we love helping people and we just like just reaching out to the community and just getting the word out for Jesus and just helping everybody out there. Alright. I want We're gonna pull up the Facebook page. And, Brandy, I wanna talk to you about the people you serve. Tell us about the Like, who's a great candidate for your ministry? A great candidate. Anybody who doesn't know who they are in Christ, reach out to us. Really anybody, man, female, young person, child, you know, if we cannot help you, we will direct you to someone who can. Okay. Staying with you for a minute, Brandy, talk about one of your favorite success stories. My favorite success story is I helped a woman back in Colorado file divorce papers from her abusive husband. And as of today, she's successful and she goes to church and she's doing really well. Okay. So I You don't have to reveal any more than you want to reveal, but you actually came from a background of abuse yourself. I did. I did also seven years of counseling, so that way, you know, I would be restored and healed when I went out to help other women or men. So yes, I am also a survivor but now I'm thriving in the ministry. Love that. And you've had some health setbacks. I have. Talk about those. So when I was nine, I was diagnosed with a diagnosis of rheumatic fever and I was paralyzed from the waist down. I was told I would never walk again. I was wheelchair bound. I was raised by my grandparents since I was born, and they would speak life into me every day and telling me that, you know, we're thankful for doctors, but diagnosis, God has the final say. Eventually, it took me six years. I did walk again. When I was 18, I found out that due to that diagnosis, I had a heart defect, which my cardiologist told me that I would not live past 26. October 20, I turned 50, so here we are. Wow. Joachim, let's talk about you're married to a very strong, independent woman. What is it that you love about her and what she brings to this ministry? She's great. She is, very strong willed. She gets up every morning, reads the Bible like clockwork. I mean, she she does a lot. She helps out with people. I've seen her grow so so very much. It's it's it's something that, to me, as a man, seeing my wife grow like that and spiritual with Jesus, it's it's great. We're gonna pull up the the the Facebook page that shows all your your photos because you have so much going on in your ministry. As we scroll down this, talk about some of the pictures that we're looking at. So in some of those pictures, I did missions. So last year, I went to Greece. We did a mission trip there in Greece. I also went to Turkey where I did a mission trip there. So that's what some of those pictures are. I did get baptized in Corinth. Oh, yes. I saw that. And so by one of our main pastors back in Colorado. What was that like? It was amazing. To walk where, you know, Jesus walked, it's it's amazing. Mhmm. What separates your ministry from others? Jesus. Like, I think that just being focused on helping and serving wholeheartedly to the community. Community is big to me. Mhmm. And you put your clients first. Is that what you call the people who come to you or are they parishioners? What do you call the people who come your way? Friends. Mhmm. But I put God first because if I don't put God first, then I can't help them truly. Mhmm. And then they come second. Alright. I'm gonna have to I'm gonna go rogue here for a second because right before the show, they were sharing a wonderful love story. So Joachim, let's let's turn to you because you were you were on this like a dog on a bone, weren't you? Well, you met her how long ago? Almost it's been two years. Yep. And you knew the minute you met her? Oh, I just I knew the minute I met her. She was she had a glow about her and I just something attracted me to her and I just didn't let go. Mhmm. And then, Brandy, you were telling me that your second date was front row of the church with your kids. Yes. That's a lot of pressure on Joachim. Well, I thought if he could handle that, then he could handle ministry because that was my life. That's been my life for nineteen years. Mhmm. Well, and there are a lot of husbands and wives who cannot work together. So Joachim, what makes this so magic? Jesus. Jesus is what brought us together. And that's what made it. It's making it beautiful every day. Mhmm. Mhmm. I know that right now, there's a lot of people who are hurting out in society. You know, they're going through different things. Who needs to come your way? Anybody who is hurting. Anybody who feels lost, like they feel like they don't have a way out, you can reach out to us through Facebook Messenger, through our email that is located on Facebook also, and through our phone number which is also located on our Facebook page, Brandy Rangel Ministries. Okay. So when they reach out to you for the first time, tell us about that process. What happens? So we just talk to them. You know, I will meet with them and then we go from there, whatever their needs might be. If we can't help them, I have other people on our team that can help them. So we direct them wherever they need to go. Well, you mentioned kind of your survivor story. Is your ministry set up for people who have gone through some kind of abuse or does it not have to be that dramatic? It doesn't have to be that dramatic. It can be anybody who just needs a little help or needs to be led to the right direction. So, it doesn't have to be specifically domestic violence or human sex trafficking. It can just be somebody who's down and out. So we have about two minutes left. I want you both to give kind of final thoughts and especially talk to that person out there who really is lost and they need to be found. I would say know that you're not alone. Don't make decision, whatever you're feeling on a temporary feeling. You're Reach out to us in our messenger. Reach out to someone locally in your community. There's people here who love to serve others and are willing to help. Joachim, we're gonna give you the final word. Yes. Just it's been this ministry is out to reach reach out for anybody and everybody. We are actually holding our first men's conference on June 27. And they're in Saguen, and it's there for for men, for fellowship, just to get together for anybody and everybody. So, yes, it's for also for men's health and just to get out and just enjoy the community. Mhmm. There in town. Let's spend one more minute on the men's ministry because that's so important. And when I look out over the congregation where I worship, you see a lot of women. You don't see as many men. Why does somebody need to get involved in your your men's conference? Well, this is just for just to so so we can get outreach more in men because just like you said, men's men's conferences, you know, it's it's very rare. So we wanna start this process and get the men there in town or the surrounding area just gather up everybody to let everybody all the men know that we are there for each other, you know, to help each other out, you know, because men struggle too. It's not just the women. But, yes, just to help each other out. Alright. Brandy, we're we're gonna give you the final word. Also, we are having a women's conference in Seguin, Texas, May 23. Be on the lookout for our flyer for both the men's and women's conference on our social media. Also, we will be launching She Leads Texas Seguin coming up on March 10. So be on the lookout for that. Outstanding. We're gonna end with your Facebook page so everybody can get in touch with you. Thank you so much for sharing your heart and your faith with us. Thank you. That's it for now. We'll see you next time.
