The American Heart Association's Life's Simple Seven are steps for achieving ideal cardiovascular health. These includes exercising regularly, consuming a healthy diet, maintaining body weight, controlling blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, and not smoking. It's recommended to exercise for at least 150 minutes or 2 hours and 30 minutes per week. Eat more fruits and vegetables and less meats and processed foods. Meats have high saturated fats and processed foods have high sodium. Shake the salt habit to lower blood pressure. No more than 2,300 milligrams of sodium per day that is equivalent to one teaspoon of salt per day. Do not use salt during cooking, instead spice it up. Use herbs and spices to enhance the natural flavor of food. Shop smart, read the labels of pre-packaged foods, and avoid
