What is Popcorn & Plot Holes?

Movies are fun! Movies are awesome! But movies can sometimes be very, very weird... or just plain terrible. In this intersection of fun, awesome, weird and terrible is where Matt, Luciano, Chris and Spencer live and thrive. They'll be watching the latest FACTS (Fantasy, Action, Comic, Thriller, Sci-Fi) movies available on streaming services and sharing their equally awesome, fun, weird and terrible thoughts on them. Welcome to Popcorn & Plot Holes!

Matt (00:00.549)
Hello and welcome to popcorn and pilad holes. We watched.

Luciano (00:07.478)
We watched a crew apparently.

Matt (00:09.041)
Watch the crow. They're making another crow actually

Spencer (00:12.)
Yeah.

Luciano (00:12.258)
Hahaha

Chris (00:12.842)
Starring...

Matt (00:14.373)
Who is it starring? Like is it... It's Karskar, that's right. God, just stop making crows. First of all, no one gives a shit about the movie. Second of all, people die all the time. Anyways, we didn't watch that. We watched the Marvels. Yeah, the Marvels. The Kamala Khan vehicle, as it were.

Spencer (00:15.259)
Bill Skarsgard.

Chris (00:17.955)
Oh, that is, that's legit.

Luciano (00:23.89)
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Chris (00:26.41)
Is this true?

Luciano (00:28.054)
Hahaha!

Chris (00:35.05)
Hey!

Spencer (00:35.291)
That's the actress's name. I mean, that's the character's name.

Luciano (00:36.352)
Not just, not just Eman Vellani, just Miss Marvel. Okay.

Chris (00:40.006)
Well, yes.

Matt (00:40.972)
That's my smile, yeah?

Matt (00:44.785)
Yeah, and yeah, the, the beastie boys fucking vehicle. Ah, the beastie facts are back. With me, with me as always, Chris.

Spencer (00:48.55)
Oh no, more beefstefacts.

Luciano (00:48.663)
I don't know, they're gonna make a comeback.

Chris (00:53.832)
Yeah. Eeee

Chris (00:57.647)
EEEE

Matt (00:59.565)
Luciano.

That's no one does that's fair and also Spencer

Spencer (01:06.147)
You do this. Sup!

Luciano (01:09.354)
Yeah, I'm glad I took the option that I did.

Chris (01:09.844)
Yeah.

You took the easy way out. Sorry, gone.

Matt (01:13.696)
Back here on Earth and not the singing planet whose name I will never say correctly.

Luciano (01:16.854)
Oh, hey!

Matt (01:19.701)
Not acknowledging it. Not a real place.

Luciano (01:21.914)
No, no, I mean, you're right. It isn't a real place.

Matt (01:24.653)
go yeah let's talk about let's talk about the Marvels let's do we're going positive what do we like about the Marvels and I'll start this week I really enjoyed the energy between the Marvels mostly kamala khan and Monica Rambeau Carol Danvers is I don't know what it is about Pree Larson but she just played her and right but we're focusing on the positive we're being

Luciano (01:33.933)
Okay

Spencer (01:34.401)
Oh.

Chris (01:39.358)
Mmm.

Chris (01:42.43)
Mmm.

Chris (01:46.642)
White toast. She's sore.

Luciano (01:48.724)
Yeah, a tall glass of warm water.

Spencer (01:51.248)
Oh my god. Oh, sir.

Chris (01:52.098)
No, yes. Oh, I am positive she is a tall glass of melba toast slices.

Luciano (01:57.771)
Yeah.

Matt (01:58.47)
Real positive, not fake positive. It... That's...

Chris (01:59.946)
It's positive. I love milba toast.

Luciano (02:02.858)
HAHAHAHAHAHA! He's got you there! HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Spencer (02:03.54)
haha

Matt (02:05.953)
Well, that's fair, that is positive.

Chris (02:07.213)
Bitch you thought! You thought!

Matt (02:11.205)
It's almost like you said it in because no one else like anyways, no, we're not gonna talk about it moving on Um, so I think I thought That's fair. Yeah, my bad. It was fun to see them interact Hey, man, I'm talking now That's fun to see them interact, you know, especially Kamala like she you know Is it Iman? She was really good at just being a really earnest fangirl in a fun way that really lightened the mood of a lot of movie when She was in it and doing it

Luciano (02:16.848)
This is what you get for starting.

Chris (02:20.627)
You pressed record! Yes, go on.

Luciano (02:32.008)
Vilani, yeah.

Chris (02:36.882)
Mm-hmm.

Matt (02:40.729)
And it carried through the whole movie and it was interesting. And even, you know, when we got to the music planet, you know, they took the piss out of Captain Marvel, which was great because it was like, this is fucking stupid. This is ridiculous. So I had a really a fun time with that part of the movie. And thankfully it was in a large part of the movie to help, you know, get me through.

Luciano (02:45.352)
Ah.

Luciano (02:48.823)
Yeah.

Yeah.

Luciano (02:59.682)
That's fair. Yeah, I liked her in the series too. Your mom felt like me. She's just adorable. I did.

Chris (02:59.813)
Mmm.

Chris (03:04.284)
Mm-hmm.

Spencer (03:04.655)
Did you watch the series? You're the guy?

Chris (03:07.123)
Me too.

There's two, actually.

Spencer (03:10.983)
There's two of you. Like, I heard someone watched it.

Luciano (03:11.224)
What do you mean you're the guy? Yeah.

Chris (03:13.726)
who watched the series.

Luciano (03:16.914)
I'm assuming a lot. Yeah, it was okay. It wasn't the greatest series of all time. It was fun. And she's definitely the highlight of it for me. Yeah, for me, I liked I like Nick Fury in this like I was I was having fun. They allowed him to say, yeah, similar objection to say shit twice in the same sentence, which I enjoyed greatly. And just like just the fact that he was kind of

Matt (03:16.973)
It's a pretty high rate. 50% of this podcast. Watch it. That's pretty good.

Spencer (03:20.758)
Yeah, good job guys.

Chris (03:25.267)
very dumb.

Matt (03:39.631)
Mm-hmm.

Luciano (03:45.454)
weirdly happy goal like he I don't know why he just tickled me in a good way when he says you know when he has the new baby flurkin in his in his arms and he goes to eat one of the guys or whatever and he goes oh no not my good eye that's fucking hilarious so that was like I loved Samuel L. Jackson in this is my favorite part of the video.

Matt (04:11.953)
Spencer be positive. Beee

Spencer (04:12.167)
I am trying. It's bad. It's it's hard. A lot of a lot of your positives are like my negatives. So it's confusing. It's gonna be split takes.

Chris (04:14.71)
Yeah

Luciano (04:15.074)
Trying to stay awake is what you're trying to do

Chris (04:22.506)
Do the opposite. Do the opposite of whatever your thing is.

Matt (04:27.311)
Yeah, yeah, whatever the...

Luciano (04:27.822)
Who would have thought that between the four of us, Spencer would be the one that hates fun.

Spencer (04:28.422)
I...

Spencer (04:31.939)
I didn't hate fun. No, that's Incel Spencer. Don't invoke his name. Did somebody say women?

Matt (04:32.121)
He hates women. I think we've established that already.

Luciano (04:34.083)
Oh, there we go.

Chris (04:36.099)
Uh... DON'T INVOKE HIM!

Luciano (04:42.398)
Ah, shit. Back to your white panelist van. Yeah, it's true.

Chris (04:43.789)
He who must not be named, he who must not be invoked.

Matt (04:43.905)
No. We have to say it.

Spencer (04:45.677)
Uh...

Matt (04:49.417)
We have to say at least two more times. That's the rule. You say it three times. You've only said it once, so we're fine. That's correct.

Chris (04:52.841)
Uh, okay.

Spencer (04:54.044)
while looking at yourself in a computer screen. That's the rules. Yeah. No, I'm trying, I liked, I'm struggling. Yeah, you go first, you go first.

Chris (04:57.246)
Hahaha!

Luciano (04:59.596)
Look at yourself on the Reddit page.

Matt (05:01.786)
Yeah.

Chris (05:08.394)
Do you want to tag me in while you cook on it? Okay. So I really loved all of the references to Hala in this movie. I especially loved... ..

Luciano (05:18.568)
This man is hoating up a loaf of bread everybody.

Spencer (05:22.822)
This is an audio format.

Chris (05:24.755)
I don't give a fuck! I specifically came, I was like, wait, we have Harla? Let me bring it to the podcast! And I'm holding a teddy bear right now!

Matt (05:29.573)
Ha ha ha!

Spencer (05:31.655)
Challa!

Luciano (05:32.179)
We have a we have a guest Matt you didn't introduce our guest Hala

Matt (05:36.038)
Sorry, first time caller, holla.

Spencer (05:37.295)
Mat Chalast, straight from Israel.

Chris (05:40.146)
Hello, hello, how are you? I'd love to be concerned. I don't know, I'm just changing, I'm changing my voice. It's the same voice that we hear in my daughter's story podcast. Anyways, one of them. Anyways, one of the things that I enjoyed the most, actually quite frankly, was Monica Rambeau Spectrum. Loved seeing her fully, at least her power set.

Luciano (05:43.062)
That's racist. That is racist.

Spencer (05:44.263)
I don't know, I'm just kidding.

Matt (05:45.009)
It's so racist.

Chris (06:07.794)
fully developed and just like, even though she was discovering the rest of it in the series as opposed to like in WandaVision getting them right. Loved how she had her time. She was, even though she was like, you know, ice cold grilling her auntie Carol for the most part of it, which I also enjoyed. She knew when to check it. She knew when to be professional, but at the same time, like, I just liked seeing.

You know what? Damn. I think it's probably this is probably one of the first super powered female Black Marvel characters on screen. Like Shuri, she could probably like wipe the floor with Shuri. So I was just like, it was good to see someone either at or just underneath Captain Marvel's power level with a similarity. So I just really enjoyed seeing that too. So representation, I really liked it.

Luciano (07:03.51)
That's fair. That's fair.

Matt (07:03.629)
Listen, Chris, I want to talk about the statement of being at or near Captain Marvel's powers. We're going to save that for a little bit. Swear to the Lord, that's essentially the plot point. Ms. Marvel is the plot point. Okay. You know, you know what's great for audio podcasts? Hearing you open a bag. Really just the best. Yeah.

Luciano (07:09.051)
Yeah.

Spencer (07:12.359)
to hard disagree.

Luciano (07:18.786)
hole.

Chris (07:18.962)
I'm gonna fight you on it and I'm gonna fight you with my house.

Luciano (07:25.034)
Oh yeah, opening a bag of bread, yeah. This man is a master of his craft. He shows a fucking bread on camera and then he opens a plastic bag on it.

Chris (07:25.982)
Oh, you can hear that? Oops! I'm just gonna mute then, oops. I'm gonna put that away. Ah!

Spencer (07:30.455)
Put that holo away. Keep it in your pants.

Matt (07:34.325)
Cheers.

Chris (07:38.566)
Listen, we need variety of texture for our audience.

Spencer (07:41.295)
Is that a loaf of bread in your pants or are you just happy to see us?

Matt (07:41.741)
not that kind of texture

Chris (07:44.626)
It's a loaf of bread in your microphone. Oh, no, it's a loaf of bread in your ears. There you go. I'm done. I'm not... Really? Anyway.

Luciano (07:44.814)
Jesus.

Matt (07:47.329)
I hate this. No, come on man, I gotta edit that out. So bad. Worse. Spencer.

Luciano (07:50.935)
in that.

Spencer (07:51.167)
That's worse. Okay, I figured out the part I liked. I liked when Captain Marvel goes full power mode because it's the closest I'll get to seeing a live action Dragon Ball Z Super Saiyan mode. And I think it looks pretty cool. I especially like when her hair goes, but I think it happened more in the first movie where her hair goes all floaty.

Chris (08:06.758)
Ah!

Matt (08:07.857)
Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Chris (08:09.759)
Yes.

Luciano (08:10.488)
Yeah.

Matt (08:15.798)
Well yeah, she went full Super Saiyan when she flew through a Kree, like Super Star Destroyer or whatever the hell they call those things. When it came to Earth and she was just like, no thanks!

Chris (08:22.972)
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Spencer (08:23.021)
Yeah.

Luciano (08:23.617)
Yeah.

Spencer (08:25.571)
Yeah, I just like it when she goes like all out because it really shows how it's cool seeing like a superhero that's like that powerful on live action. You don't see it very much. Even Superman doesn't really do it in his movies, he's always holding back. Little bitch.

Chris (08:34.282)
true. If we had to...

Luciano (08:41.249)
Yeah.

Chris (08:41.546)
true. What Super Saiyan level would do you think Carol is at?

Luciano (08:43.53)
I'm out.

Spencer (08:47.391)
She's definitely like would be like level I'm not like super versed in the Dragon Ball Z world, but I Yeah, I'd say like two

Chris (08:53.258)
There's at least four and then there's others. Okay, cool, cool. I feel like, yeah. And she doesn't, we don't have to sacrifice like her uniform or her growing a tail or any of that shit. It would be great if she grew a mullet at Carol, Super Marvel, Captain Marvel level two.

Luciano (09:11.376)
It's not really a mullet if you're talking about Dragon Ball. It grows a full head of hair, but whatever

Chris (09:14.738)
We're... Yes. But it would work for her.

Matt (09:20.182)
So back in the Marvel movie.

Spencer (09:20.259)
she could pull it off.

Chris (09:21.991)
I think she could. Yes.

Spencer (09:23.831)
The what now?

Matt (09:25.593)
The Marvels, we watch? The Marvels. Anybody else? Great. Yeah. Well.

Luciano (09:26.53)
What were we talking about?

Luciano (09:31.018)
No? We're good.

Spencer (09:31.899)
What's the marvel?

Chris (09:32.158)
Hala. Hahahaha!

Chris (09:37.45)
It's a family sitcom starring Captain Marvel as the asexual mom, her niece, Monica, and their adopted daughter.

Spencer (09:46.843)
Cut him off. Cut him off before he crashes this plane.

Luciano (09:49.99)
Yeah, he's... No, but he... He's digging himself deeper.

Matt (09:50.441)
You ask the question.

Spencer (09:55.114)
I'm just trying to

Matt (09:55.629)
I mean this is what happens when you ask questions you shouldn't ask and now you have to suffer the consequences. Yeah.

Chris (09:55.694)
I wasn't, but okay.

Spencer (10:00.071)
You know what, that's on me. That's on me. I gave him, I gave, I... I opened the door that was leading off a cliff and we all walked through it. So.

Luciano (10:01.282)
Hahaha!

Chris (10:02.763)
One does not simply ask a question with no consequence.

Matt (10:05.346)
Yeah.

Matt (10:10.165)
That's your mistake. Let's talk about some stuff that happened in the movie that maybe didn't make sense to us. I'm gonna skip right to the end because that's where I wanna start.

Chris (10:10.398)
Hehehe

Chris (10:20.032)
Oh, okay.

Spencer (10:20.993)
just move backwards, just like memento.

Matt (10:22.817)
Well, yeah, sure, backwards. Yeah, yeah, yeah

Chris (10:25.574)
Ha!

Luciano (10:42.986)
I mean, like you said, she didn't intend to, right? I think she wanted to just, cause she had opened like a hole to siphon the sun. Maybe she just wanted to kind of open the hole wider. I don't know.

Matt (10:43.386)
to what end?

Spencer (10:47.556)
What did she intend to do?

Chris (10:54.759)
Yeah.

Spencer (10:58.203)
Did she need to open it wider?

Luciano (11:00.294)
No, a lot of things that happened in this movie didn't need to happen.

Matt (11:00.386)
Well...

Spencer (11:03.899)
Well, let me ask you something. She wanted, in all the other instances, she took the air, she took the water, which you can suck through a hole if it's, sorry, that's okay. You can suck air and water through a hole and they can be transported to your world. The sun, wouldn't it have to be a sun-sized hole to suck the whole sun through?

Matt (11:06.191)
Yeah

Luciano (11:11.585)
Right.

Matt (11:11.993)
Earth, wind, and fire. Wait, air, water, and fire. Sorry, Spencer.

Chris (11:14.354)
Ha!

Luciano (11:29.002)
It didn't look like it. It looked like it was sucking it in like a swirl or whatever.

Matt (11:29.165)
You ask great questions.

Spencer (11:33.859)
Like yeah, so if it's in a swirl, it's not gonna create another like sphere. It's just gonna release hot fire like into space.

Matt (11:33.949)
In

Luciano (11:40.458)
I could set the world, the entire planet on fire.

Chris (11:43.626)
Listen, I love these questions, but why are we shitting on the soft serve approach of the sun eating that Darben was executing? The real question is why do you hate soft serve?

Luciano (11:54.689)
Well, Matt's question was why the fuck did she like open a gaping hole in reality? And we're trying to answer it. Ha ha ha.

Matt (11:59.793)
I mean, we don't have to answer the question I ask when Chris wants to ask why people hate soft serve. That's clearly more important.

Luciano (12:07.086)
Because like this is.

Spencer (12:08.011)
Oh. You know what, you know what, Matt you make a good point. I'm not a big fan of soft serve, you know. It's not as good, it's too soft.

Chris (12:08.109)
Back to the sun!

Luciano (12:13.786)
Yeah, this is an interesting, it's an interesting like, so why did she open a hole in reality? Well, I have a counter for you. Why do you hate ice cream?

Matt (12:13.85)
Too soft!

Matt (12:23.077)
Yeah.

Spencer (12:24.452)
People hate things!

Luciano (12:25.847)
Hahaha

Chris (12:26.174)
Parallel makes sense. Like you said swirl soft serve son into the challah atmosphere. Okay We're on it Don't worry Don't worry about the ice cream. Yes, let's go into it

Matt (12:32.14)
Let's try this.

Spencer (12:32.311)
Chris, explaining your insanity doesn't make it any better.

Matt (12:35.405)
let's try to stay on this movie. We've already taken hard off-ramps from this movie, like twice in the 12 minutes we've been talking. So I'm fine with taking this to the sun and the plan to our Manhattan, because that kind of leads into her dying and ripping a hole in space-time, apparently. But like, you know, if you're gonna suck a sun, the challenge here for me is,

Luciano (12:42.798)
Hahahaha

Spencer (12:44.743)
Okay.

Chris (12:55.529)
Yes.

Matt (13:04.433)
Uh, I believe the sun is just a ball of gas, correct?

Luciano (13:08.833)
Yeah.

Matt (13:10.893)
Well, how come Hala had that burned out husk of a thing left over? It looked like it was physically hard on the outside. Their son.

Luciano (13:19.614)
Well, I mean, do you really want to get into the physics of stars or?

Chris (13:20.458)
Yeah. Pause.

Spencer (13:23.867)
That's a good question, but I have a question. Milkshakes? Question mark? Too soft.

Chris (13:29.086)
Yeah. You know, needs to be thicker. I'm tired of losing all my fillings when I'm trying to enjoy my beverage. Okay, so then like based on that, is challah sun completely, just different. Is it, what is it? A coal, a hot coal?

Matt (13:29.285)
Also too soft.

Luciano (13:29.554)
Ha ha

Spencer (13:42.215)
different.

It's a different song.

Luciano (13:46.08)
Well, it didn't show exactly where, to try and defend this probably indefensible thing, they showed the whole opening and siphoning like Earth Sun, but it didn't show exactly where it was going on the other side. So we can assume being charitable that they were siphoning one Sun into the other, I guess. Not that would make much more sense, but.

Matt (13:52.387)
Wow.

Chris (13:54.794)
Let him cook.

Matt (13:59.277)
Right. Yeah, going.

Matt (14:09.697)
Okay. Well, I guess...

Spencer (14:12.575)
Yeah, no, that could make sense because if their sun would, even though it's a husk, would have like a gravitational pull. So all you'd have to do is open a hole near that husk and the gaseous flame that would suck through the hole would go towards that nearest giant planetoid.

Matt (14:29.669)
Sure. Yeah.

Matt (14:34.617)
I mean, okay, let's, you know, we don't want to spend too much time talking about this. Apparently it's fine. And it was completely justified. So I'm fine with that answer. Yeah. Yeah, no, that's fair. Um, I think it, this is early, but I think we should probably just give Lucy no time to get out of the system now. Um,

Spencer (14:40.932)
Makes sense.

Luciano (14:41.083)
Hahaha

Chris (14:44.17)
She had her reason.

Spencer (14:52.565)
Oh god.

Chris (14:52.882)
Nope. Is it time?

Luciano (14:53.718)
I don't really need to get it. Do you really? Do you want it? Okay, fine. Oh, fine.

Chris (14:58.19)
Is it time? Ohhhh I'm sorry.

Spencer (14:59.476)
Listeners, it's time to take your smoke break, get your drinks, go to the bathroom.

Matt (15:03.436)
If I don't let you get it out now, it's gonna come up later at some inopportune time. So let's just get it out of the way early. Ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to welcome you to a little portion of the show we called Um, Actually with Luciano.

Spencer (15:09.651)
Ah.

Luciano (15:09.718)
I... Okay.

Spencer (15:16.539)
Beep beep boop beep.

Chris (15:17.192)
Uh-uh.

Luciano (15:19.67)
Okay, I don't have as much anger and hatred and anything like that in me like I did last time. Because, yeah. So the things that don't make sense to me in this are like you were saying, you know, how did the sucking of the sun from one place to the other, how did that make sense? Would they have two suns? Would they be trying to merge the suns?

Matt (15:25.852)
Just let it grow.

Chris (15:25.866)
Mmm.

Spencer (15:27.1)
Let the hate flow through you!

Luciano (15:44.022)
Did they understand that if they did, why some God forsaken reason out of magic merged the two suns, it would make a huge sun that would probably burn the fucking planet? Also, how come, how come, you know, she opened, she opened like Darben opened that hole in the planet where the Kree were hiding and all that it sucked was the air, it didn't suck anything else, like the trees, the ground.

Spencer (15:56.845)
Good.

Chris (15:57.318)
I'm sorry.

Matt (16:11.233)
It sucked the ships.

Luciano (16:13.118)
Well, when they were flying, not when they were on the ground. Yeah. And then, like, it only sucked the air and nothing else. But then when she opened it in the Aladdin planet, it only sucked the water. But then it was above the water where there's air, but it wasn't sucking the air. Like, what are these holes, fucking holes in the in physics? Like, what the fuck is going on? And also, where was like a?

Matt (16:15.992)
Mmm, he got me there.

Spencer (16:16.224)
It sucked alright.

Chris (16:24.974)
Yes, the Aladdin. Yeah.

Matt (16:27.075)
Yeah.

Matt (16:38.737)
Uh-uh.

Luciano (16:41.462)
Where was all this going? How is it like going to just stay where they wanted it to stay? They were sucking the water and we're just gonna put the water here. It's not gonna flood the fucking, remember she said the planet was 99.6% water and it was like what? They're just gonna suck a little bit of water. So, you know. Ah.

Chris (16:50.986)
Baby cook!

Spencer (16:52.807)
Cook, baby, cook.

Matt (16:55.072)
Yeah.

Matt (17:01.477)
62% of water. Listen, I have a recommendation for you. Go watch Spaceballs. They answer completely. Yeah, yeah. Physics. I'm not sure what that is, but I think that's accurate.

Luciano (17:10.06)
They have physics that I can get behind. Physics! And me neither, I don't know why it came out like that. It's my second language. I'm not sure why I came out like that.

Spencer (17:13.136)
physics

Chris (17:14.054)
Physics?

Spencer (17:18.304)
I can get behind it too.

Chris (17:21.591)
Is that a PayPal subproduct?

Luciano (17:24.594)
It might be. Anyway.

Chris (17:26.058)
Hmm. Mm, loved it.

Spencer (17:26.327)
It is now.

Matt (17:26.437)
Um, okay. That's ladies and gentlemen, that's the end of, uh, actually with Luciano.

Spencer (17:33.507)
BAM

Luciano (17:33.586)
Yeah. Just go hang my fedora somewhere.

Matt (17:37.697)
Yeah, thank you.

Chris (17:40.135)
your way out.

Luciano (17:41.552)
Hahaha

Matt (17:43.569)
Can we talk about... Oof, so many things to talk about in this movie. Can we talk about why Kamala Khan's family either lost their house? Because they don't... like... destroyed. Yeah, well, I mean, it's lost in the sense that they can never live there again. I just... I don't understand.

Spencer (17:46.936)
Oh, there's so many.

Luciano (17:56.437)
Hahaha!

Chris (17:58.346)
destroyed it was just Yeah

Matt (18:08.033)
why those Cree soldiers stuck around to try to murder Kamal's parents.

Luciano (18:15.742)
and how they failed so hard at it being Kree soldiers.

Matt (18:18.241)
and also why Captain Marvel had so little regard for someone's home.

Luciano (18:24.766)
Yes, it's funny because when Monica was there it wasn't that bad but the moment Captain Maru got there she punched a guy three floors up. Like

Matt (18:29.573)
No.

Matt (18:33.336)
Yeah.

Spencer (18:34.655)
Oh, but you guys have space insurance?

Luciano (18:38.059)
Yes, superhero insurance.

Chris (18:39.332)
Damn it!

Matt (18:40.233)
I don't think space insurance covers Captain Marvel.

Spencer (18:44.146)
Peace from space.

Chris (18:44.83)
So you guys didn't get the guy. Oh.

Luciano (18:45.384)
Can she be covered under an act of God maybe?

Matt (18:48.561)
Well, yeah maybe, because like I understand it'll say space insurance Spencer, but it'll be like a little star like from the bottoms like does not cover Captain Marvel.

Spencer (18:58.019)
She was technically born on Earth, therefore not space. God damn it, they've done it again. So, yeah, I mean, who cares? Their house... Whatever, they're measly humans. She's become a god.

Matt (18:59.737)
She was technically born on Earth, therefore not space. Yeah, exactly.

Luciano (19:01.095)
Yeah.

Matt (19:14.769)
But this is not a trend where minorities are getting their houses destroyed for the enjoyment of white people. We watched Blue Beetle, like what, like three movies ago?

Chris (19:17.533)
Hmm.

Spencer (19:20.004)
Is that a trend?

Luciano (19:20.145)
Hahaha! It is a trend!

Chris (19:21.832)
E-Boozie

Spencer (19:25.599)
Yeah, that's true. Remember Sokovia?

Chris (19:27.038)
Yeah.

Luciano (19:29.047)
There you go.

Matt (19:29.837)
Well, they're white people, it doesn't count.

Chris (19:29.96)
Mmm

Spencer (19:32.671)
I mean, they're, they didn't speak English. So, you know, they deserve to have their homes destroyed.

Luciano (19:32.89)
But they're white people with an accent, so it kinda counts. Yeah. Ha ha ha!

Chris (19:41.61)
Oh no! Who? Did someone find the incel Spencer loophole? No! This is a new? Oh no!

Spencer (19:45.324)
No, no, no! No, this is just... This is Avengers policy. That's twice. That's twice!

Luciano (19:45.838)
Ha ha!

Matt (19:48.945)
You said it? We are on the edge. The preferences. Don't make that mistake again.

Chris (19:54.667)
So if it wasn't him...

Matt (19:58.045)
What was you saying it? Oh, oh, regular Spencer's also kind of a racist. Oh, well, that's fair. So the Avengers are racist is what we're coming down to. That might check out.

Luciano (19:59.54)
Yeah.

Chris (19:59.566)
No, no, who have we invoked?

Luciano (20:03.91)
Yeah.

Chris (20:05.338)
NNNN

Spencer (20:07.287)
No, no, I'm just saying that's the Avengers policy.

Spencer (20:13.977)
Oh yeah.

Chris (20:17.062)
Yeah, so Blue Beetle, their family lost their house. It was destroyed. Here, Kamala's family lost their house. I mean, yeah, it was also destroyed. So why?

Luciano (20:25.69)
And Bluebeetle got destroyed kinda twice, right? First when he discovers his powers and then when the fucking thing catches fire on that soap opera scene.

Matt (20:35.093)
I will allow him being destroyed when he becomes a blue beetle because no one knows what's happening right? So that just sucks. Even the blue beetle itself probably wasn't too interesting. Like did it have a concept of like human habitation and be like oh I shouldn't punch a hole through this door. But the second time, space insurance does cover that. That is correct. Yeah, yeah that's fine. Yeah. Well, now let me know for the space beetle. Never again. We'll put that in the next contract.

Luciano (20:41.57)
Right.

Spencer (20:52.036)
And space insurance covers that.

Chris (20:55.622)
Mm.

Spencer (20:56.568)
Yeah, he's a beetle from space.

Luciano (20:58.134)
The second time, no. Yeah.

Yeah. I keep adding to the small like asterisk.

Spencer (21:04.551)
Yeah, next clause. For every superhero that's from another planet. You got Bluebeard, you got Ms. Marvel, you got Marge of Manhunter.

Chris (21:04.947)
Yeah.

Matt (21:07.11)
I... Yeah.

Chris (21:11.306)
exception asterisk

exception

Matt (21:16.791)
But like, so like, you know, like is this, why is this like, is this the new trend? Is it, does it, this is gonna sound like I'm Spencer. Yeah.

Luciano (21:25.475)
It's a little sad, but yeah.

Chris (21:27.63)
It is, and it's minority targeted. So I'm surprised, I mean, I'm surprised, oh shit, wait, think, no, no one in, yeah, no, for a moment I got scared because I thought one of Kamala's family died, also like Jaime's family, but no, we dodged that bullet. They just lost their home, their family dwelling.

Matt (21:34.74)
Oh, tap it in.

Luciano (21:42.749)
No, no.

Matt (21:47.653)
Chris, we have a long history of killing father figures in movies. Isn't that standard operating procedure for comic books?

Spencer (21:51.067)
Yeah, that's okay. But well, they can't just show like a white boomer losing the house that they paid off finally. That'd be too terrifying for the, for the modern day audience.

Luciano (21:51.758)
True.

Chris (21:52.044)
Yeah.

Chris (22:00.638)
Hmm.

Luciano (22:04.527)
The audience and the people who paid for the movie. Ha ha ha.

Spencer (22:07.636)
Yeah, they're like they're watching it. They're like you can watch it full people get killed. They're like, oh no The hope of the suburbs. It's too close

Chris (22:16.286)
The mortgage. Does this mean they'll have to refinance?

Luciano (22:16.72)
haha

Spencer (22:20.632)
But interest rates are so high right now! This is terrifying!

Chris (22:26.473)
Let them live!

Spencer (22:28.867)
Yeah, I think that's why, you know?

Luciano (22:33.634)
Yeah.

Chris (22:33.682)
commentary on the state of things. It's... Ha ha ha.

Spencer (22:34.371)
Moving on!

Matt (22:36.429)
Ha ha

Luciano (22:36.922)
Yeah, that just became sad there. Hehehehehehe

Matt (22:40.454)
It really did.

Chris (22:40.638)
We didn't want it to go there, but it was real. It was too real, as in, I'll leave it.

Spencer (22:40.947)
Yeah, got too real, got too real.

Matt (22:47.669)
I just assumed Nick Fury will build him a better house and... Sabre.

Chris (22:50.59)
Didn't someone say they'd be comped at the end, but I guess not. Damn. Woof woof! Hehehe.

Spencer (22:54.927)
They meant they'd validate their parking. Yeah, yeah. Speaking of Nick Fury, Nick Fury, did you guys like Nick Fury? I know Luciano liked him in this.

Matt (22:58.358)
Yeah.

Luciano (23:00.194)
80% of their parking.

Matt (23:03.829)
Only if you make a purchase of $20 or more on the store.

Chris (23:11.322)
I did, I did. I think he, was it just me or did like Sam Jackson kind of start to show his age in this one? Like, I love Nick Fury and I love Sam Jackson.

Luciano (23:18.834)
Yeah, a little bit. I mean, the dude is old, so...

Spencer (23:24.323)
I didn't really find he showed his age too much. I just thought his character was, it just seemed like it was like, like anytime they cut to like, it seemed like a side story of like him and the family. And I was just like, every time I went back there, it was just like wacky hijinks. And like everybody was just acting like the family, like Kamala's family are funny and like refreshing, but also like taking the situation way too passively.

Chris (23:24.518)
Well, I'm here for it. No? Okay, then still, then it's just me. What?

Chris (23:36.56)
Yeah.

Luciano (23:55.294)
Yeah, like taking it in stride too easily. Yeah. Yeah

Spencer (23:55.421)
Like, they're way too like chill, like way too chill about being in space and seeing an alien cat eat people.

Matt (24:01.281)
Well, Spencer, yeah, and Spencer, to your point, we talked about earlier and you said you hadn't watched Miss Marvel, but like in Miss Marvel, they freak out about anything. Like Kamala going out of the house like past a certain time or certain things, yeah, yeah. Yeah, pre powers. And so like maybe they have a little leeway because she has powers, but like you're right that they were so chill. Goes against their characters in many ways.

Spencer (24:09.786)
No.

Chris (24:10.63)
Mmmm

Luciano (24:13.611)
Yeah, they do.

Spencer (24:14.152)
Oh, really?

Luciano (24:17.346)
10 p.m. yeah

Chris (24:19.114)
Cree powers.

Luciano (24:29.704)
Well, her mom was more concerned with like chastising her for doing stuff that had nothing to do with the powers and stuff like just saying behave this way, behave that way in the series, I mean, than she was about the powers. And then in this, she's like, all that she wants is that for her to behave properly, but like, oh, there's aliens in my house. That's fine. But if my daughter misbehaves, that's the bad thing, which I thought it was very cliche and sort of like.

Spencer (24:41.069)
I have a-

Luciano (24:56.446)
A caricature of what? You know what I mean?

Spencer (24:57.971)
Yeah, I also have a theory about movie, modern movies where it's like the trope, not the trope, but like the amount of time it takes to show a realistic reaction to something crazy and then coming to terms with it. And then them like, you know, like it's like the actual character development takes too much screen time. So it's just a lot easier to just be like, they're just what they're just very chill about it. You know, it's like

Luciano (25:19.798)
Mmm.

Matt (25:20.314)
Yeah.

Matt (25:24.621)
Yeah, the short circuit, all of that.

Spencer (25:25.243)
They just accept everything right away. And they're just going right into hijinks because we don't want to commit a lot of time to them. I mean, like talking about how crazy it is that their house was destroyed and that they've been taking it up into the space station and they've seen aliens eat cat eating people. Like, can you imagine that it'd be like regular person? Like, this is fucking insanity. But we're just gonna hand wave all that.

Matt (25:41.913)
That's fine.

Chris (25:46.11)
Mmm.

Luciano (25:46.558)
Well, there's a scene where they show the father talking to the one of the people that work at Sabre and giving him like investment advice or whatever. And it's like, how old are you? I'm 306. And like the brother goes, oh, same age then. Like, funny, but like really, it's not really that. Yeah.

Chris (25:58.205)
Mm-hmm. Oh yeah.

Spencer (25:59.147)
Yeah, he's talking about an IRA Roth. Yeah.

Matt (26:02.927)
Yeah.

Spencer (26:07.295)
like react that's not normal like why are you like oh yeah of course that's funny yeah

Chris (26:14.058)
Hmm.

Matt (26:14.061)
I mean, if we call it what it is, you know, I think the family was good and fun in, you know, the Miss Marlowe TV show, but...

Luciano (26:23.581)
They're a bit like extra here, right? Like.

Matt (26:23.849)
You're... well you're... a movie should be tight enough that you don't need to have a, you know, comic relief family on the space station. Like there's got to be a better way to provide that in the movie then. Because they didn't do anything, right? Like, I guess they helped get people out and snapped up by flirkens, but like...

Luciano (26:35.883)
Hahaha!

Spencer (26:36.434)
Yeah.

Chris (26:41.31)
Yeah.

Luciano (26:41.431)
Yeah.

Chris (26:44.263)
Yeah.

Spencer (26:46.607)
Were they really the best ones for that job?

Luciano (26:47.603)
Well, that whole space station was comic relief. Which is bad. Yeah.

Matt (26:49.233)
Uh-uh.

Spencer (26:51.471)
Yeah, it just seems so, like, unnecessary.

Matt (26:54.337)
Sure. I mean, it's fine. This PlayStation exists. But yeah, you could just not.

Chris (26:55.166)
I do.

Luciano (26:59.291)
Maybe get some more story instead of showing the hijinks in the space station.

Chris (26:59.612)
I do want to put a-

Chris (27:03.782)
I get that. I want to put a little respect on Mama Khan, especially when like the Cree soldiers invaded their house. And then just before like some of them, one of the guys, like did that killing blow on, on the father, like the mother was like, what was like, she's like shielded and she like ice grilled the dude. Like I want to look you in the fucking eye. Who are you going to? It was, she was very courageous, very courageous. I respected her for sure. But I agree. It just didn't feel quite like it's almost like it should have been

like part of a season of the Miss Marvel show because there's more breathing room and you can give them time to react as you say.

Luciano (27:37.798)
Yeah, that's the thing. They became just caricatures of themselves. And I agree, they didn't need as much screen time as they got.

Spencer (27:49.787)
I mean, arguably this whole thing should have been a TV show, not a movie, because it's the culmination of two other TV shows.

Luciano (27:57.582)
Well, that never stopped Marvel before.

Chris (27:58.174)
Oh, true, true.

Spencer (28:00.707)
Well, normally they don't do that. They don't have like a TV show build to a movie. That's kind of like a newer thing. Like they're doing a Mandalorian movie now, which is like the buildup from the TV show. We have to watch the show to understand a lot what's in the movie, which is bad for like the general audience. Like I didn't watch Ms. Marvel and I did watch WandaVision. So I knew her, but I assume a lot of people didn't.

Luciano (28:16.603)
Yeah, that's fair.

Chris (28:19.55)
WandaVision.

Matt (28:23.557)
I don't think you have to watch Ms. Marvel to understand in the movie.

Luciano (28:26.278)
You would get a little bit lost on her powers though if you didn't.

Spencer (28:26.863)
You don't have to, you don't have to, but it's just like, you're missing out on.

Matt (28:32.985)
Yeah, but that's kind of how TV shows and movies could operate is it just gives you more backstory, but the movie mostly stood alone in terms of, hey, they explain Kamala Khan and she has light based powers and they should reduce them and blah, blah. It wasn't great, but it was there.

Luciano (28:38.839)
Yeah.

Spencer (28:49.059)
Like I for one watching it though, I have no idea how she got her powers or what her powers were. I assume the bangle just gave her powers?

Luciano (28:49.835)
Hahaha!

Matt (28:57.709)
Right, but like, does, I mean, I guess the question is, does, like, do you care? Like, but like other, but like other superheroes showed up in a movie and you just learned about their powers and their abilities during the movie. Right. So why?

Luciano (28:57.73)
Kind of, kind of, it's not exactly that.

Spencer (29:04.663)
I should care.

Spencer (29:12.571)
See, in those movies, I'm a nerd and I know most of their backstories already. If I haven't already, like when Spider-Man shows up for the first time, everyone knows what Spider-Man's deal is.

Matt (29:16.826)
Cough

Chris (29:24.818)
So then your parallel then would be similar to when we, a long time ago when we watched Black Adam, we know sort of who Black Adam is, but there were those other supers, villain or hero. Did you know about some of those heroes, Spencer? Or like those other characters, meta characters?

Luciano (29:42.64)
That's a good point.

Spencer (29:43.515)
Did I see Black Adam?

Chris (29:45.382)
You are with us.

Luciano (29:47.038)
You recorded an episode with us about it.

Spencer (29:48.167)
You're gonna have to remind me. I'm gonna go ahead and say, I don't know. I don't remember Black Adam and feels like a fever dream. I just remember the rock ripping a man in half. That is all.

Chris (29:52.127)
I had my answer.

Matt (29:53.998)
Wow.

Chris (29:59.498)
because I see a parallel.

Matt (30:01.805)
I don't... Yeah, that's about it. Superman showed up and now none of them exist. No but it's, I don't think it's required to, as long as they show you in the movie, it's fine. It's that they have, you know, two plus hours of runtime to tell you a movie and it seems like it's a bunch of unconnected scenes that they shrunk together to pad out the runtime.

Spencer (30:08.907)
Yeah.

Luciano (30:23.57)
Yeah. Well, it's not really unconnected, but it's like, it's connected just because we, like, they say it's connected, kind of, like, it's like, okay, we're gonna do this, now we're gonna do that, now we're gonna do that, it doesn't flow. Even if the story connects, the scenes don't connect, yeah.

Chris (30:24.628)
Mmm.

Matt (30:40.377)
Like the, yeah, the story flows. The story is Darbeddin wants to bring Hala back to its former glory and she's taking things from Captain Marvel who she holds responsible, right? So the air planets, the atmosphere planet, the water planet and Earth are all places that mean something to Captain Marvel. So all that, yeah, the air planet. I don't know what the name of these places are. No.

Luciano (30:53.16)
Yeah.

Spencer (30:58.847)
The Air Planet? Was it called the Air Planet? Like, because it had air? All planets have air!

Luciano (30:59.146)
Yeah. The Air Planet. Yeah. I don't remember what the name of the planet was.

Chris (31:05.077)
Where the scroll, oh boy, our podcast blew up. The scroll, maybe, the scroll inhabited planets.

Luciano (31:08.823)
Tarkov?

Spencer (31:13.355)
It's just funny how they call the Air Planet like all the planets have air.

Matt (31:16.761)
I'm sorry, all the plants have water, you didn't fucking bat an eye on that one.

Spencer (31:18.207)
Yeah, no, I did. I also don't know what you're talking about. Is that Earth?

Matt (31:22.105)
Fine, you know what? The sun planet, is that better for you? Ha ha ha.

Luciano (31:22.682)
I know that I'm actually... Wait, I know that I'm actually ended, but not all planets have water or air. Hahahaha!

Matt (31:30.777)
Ah, fuck you. Yes, this is... In the context of this movie, we see the atmosphere planet where she steals the atmosphere, the water planet where she steals all the water from, and then technically it's not even Earth, it's just the sun. The sun in, what are we calling it? Sol, like it's called the Sol, yeah, Sol. So there, that's where we went to. I'm sorry we had to go through that, everybody. Spencer got his um, actually up his ass, and we saw the warrior.

Spencer (31:33.115)
You know what?

Chris (31:33.211)
Yeah.

Luciano (31:37.846)
There you go, that's better.

Luciano (31:42.572)
Yeah.

The sun, yeah.

Spencer (31:45.479)
This is a video by the way, I'm not sure if you can see it.

Luciano (31:49.691)
So yeah, yeah.

Luciano (31:54.966)
Hahahaha

Spencer (31:55.837)
I was confused

Look

Matt (32:00.345)
But, so that all makes sense, but all the stuff that happens when they're not just following Darben around is the stuff where I was like, why don't we, what are we doing? Why are we doing this? This doesn't make any sense.

Luciano (32:08.026)
What's happening here? Yeah, yeah. Like the trends it's I think I got it. The transitions make sense, but the scenes themselves don't. So it's like it's disjointed. Like, wait, why are we watching some weird like musical now? Oh, right. Because they wanted Brie Larson to show she can sing. Okay, fine.

Chris (32:26.09)
Hmm.

Spencer (32:26.357)
Oh boy.

Luciano (32:29.45)
But it doesn't really add anything to the story. And they wasted a lot of screen time, at least for my taste, they wasted a lot of screen time with bullshit that doesn't matter.

Matt (32:39.725)
It's like, it's a bit that went too far. Like it was funny to be like, oh, they talk through singing. Yeah.

Luciano (32:43.743)
Yeah, a couple of times. Yeah, yeah. That's it. That's the good screw of a point. Everything is a bit that they took too far. Kind of like Chris in the beginning. That is also true.

Matt (32:53.681)
It's kind of like this podcast if we're honest.

Spencer (32:53.835)
Yeah. Why, thank you. Yeah, I found a lot of the humor in this was like that, where it was like. I it's getting annoying in movies where they write a scene where it's stupid and then the characters in the movie point out how stupid it is and then it's like, oh, OK, now it's forgiven for being stupid. Like it happened so many times in this movie and it's just like.

Matt (32:59.43)
Ahem.

Matt (33:11.761)
Thanks for watching!

Luciano (33:17.25)
Oh, yeah, this happened a couple of times in this movie, actually. Yeah.

Spencer (33:23.647)
I like that the singing plan was an example of that. It's like she starts singing and she's like, then the then Rambo and Miss Marvel are like talking like rock. Monica Rambo. Hey, I thought for sure I was wrong when you said that when they're like talking to like, this is how many checklists is this getting on your Marvel wish list? And it's like, this is so I'm never going to let her live it down. Like, it's so.

Luciano (33:31.978)
Rambo? That's a different movie. Uh, Rambo. Not Rambo. Not Rambo!

Chris (33:33.582)
Monica Rambeau. It's her last.

Matt (33:35.87)
He's not wrong.

Chris (33:39.611)
No, you're good.

Luciano (33:49.231)
Oh, the fan- the fan fiction, yeah, yeah.

Spencer (33:51.843)
Like, is this like a fan fiction thing? I'm like, yeah, it is fan fiction. Cause it's written by the fucking writers to be fan fiction. Cause it's stupid. But there's a lot of that stuff.

Chris (33:58.044)
Mmm.

Luciano (34:00.146)
And I think it's fine if they do it once and it's a good bit, but they did it a lot of times and a lot of times it doesn't work. Like they do like, oh, if this thing is all classified information, why is it on a clear screen? When she has it. And you go like, okay, that's a valid little bit of a joke, but then they do it like four more times in the movie and you go, okay, so you don't have any comic thing to write, you just write.

Spencer (34:09.028)
Yeah.

Spencer (34:14.999)
Yeah.

Luciano (34:28.162)
fourth wall breaking shit just so we go, ah, they're aware. Yeah. Oh, God. Oh, what a comparison. That is that is mean. Okay.

Spencer (34:30.859)
Yeah, it reminds me of Jurassic World where the guy's like, Oh, no, not no, not no, not not. I didn't say Dominion, the first Jurassic World where he says in it, where he's talking about the he's talking about the new park. And he's like, oh, it's just trying to rehash all the good stuff from the original park, which was the best one. And it's like, hey, you can't just get yourself aware of it. Doesn't mean it's not what you're describing.

Chris (34:39.265)
Dude, I kinda want you. Don't worry. Aw.

Luciano (34:52.16)
Hey, self-awareness.

Yeah, dumb. Yeah. Pointing it out doesn't. Yeah. That's fair.

Spencer (34:59.011)
You know, it's like, it's just like you saying it doesn't make it any better. There's a lot of pass anyways. I found that happened a lot in this movie. It's like, wow, this is crazy. So silly. Audience wink.

Matt (34:59.861)
Hehe

Luciano (35:11.222)
Like, I've honestly like I felt, I felt a lot of the movie tried to like there was a lot of padding around the thing that Matt said that he enjoyed, which I enjoyed too, like the dynamic between the three main characters. It was great. But like they had that as an idea. Let's make them have like super good chemistry and work together and like learn. And, and that's it.

Matt (35:12.553)
WIII

Chris (35:24.44)
Mm-hmm.

Matt (35:32.466)
I'm sorry your character is having super good chemistry. Is that an idea in a movie?

Luciano (35:37.49)
Apparently, because that's the only thing that works in this movie.

Chris (35:41.298)
And we had it for such a short amount of time, it might as well have been a dream.

Spencer (35:43.718)
Hey guys!

Luciano (35:46.204)
Let me just point you out again to Blue Beetle where that didn't happen at all.

Spencer (35:50.479)
Hey guys, I got a crazy good idea for this podcast. We should have good chemistry. I know it's wild.

Luciano (35:54.714)
Yeah, the conversation should make sense. Yeah. But, but, no, like, but like, in a more serious note, like, it looks like they put a lot of thought into how to make that work in the screen, in with screen time, but like everything else was padding to support that. We have to get them together. How do we do that? Right.

Chris (35:55.536)
Yeah

Matt (35:56.824)
No! That's fucking, that's the stupidest shit I've ever heard.

Chris (36:01.658)
I'll come back later to just click.

Spencer (36:17.163)
Yeah, I agree. Their dynamic was probably the best part, although I could have used a little less melodrama with Captain Marvel and Rambo. I mean, it was it. It was a little much, but I understand like you have to have some emotional meaning. You can't just all be fucking fluff. It doesn't pay off. Well, it kind of pays off like she sacrifices herself for and it's supposed to be.

Luciano (36:24.71)
And Monica? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, it was a little... it was...

Chris (36:26.13)
Really? Less?

Luciano (36:34.093)
It also doesn't pay off, right? Because like she get...

Luciano (36:41.098)
Well, no, I mean in the conversation, because like she goes and she says, Oh, you know, I was helping people. And Monica says, well, we needed you. Right. And I was like, that's a little selfish. I thought, Oh, here's Captain Marvel saving planets. And she was like, but why didn't you come to talk to me and my mom? But then you don't.

Matt (36:59.245)
Nah, you're just a monster.

Chris (37:00.27)
She was a... yeah you're a monster dude. Like she was a child. True.

Spencer (37:02.051)
No, her mom was dying though.

Matt (37:04.938)
She blipped out as a child and came back as an adult, essentially.

Luciano (37:05.14)
No, but that was before.

Spencer (37:09.027)
What? That's not true. She, you come back to same age that she was the age you got flipped at.

Luciano (37:09.063)
So

Matt (37:10.713)
Or was she, was she in adult already? Oh, okay. Sorry. Yeah, that's fair. Yeah, you're right. My bad. But she blipped out when her mom was alive and she blipped back and.

Chris (37:11.694)
Uh, she was, she was an adult and blipped. She was an adult and then blipped.

Luciano (37:12.514)
She was an adult. She was, yeah, yeah. She doesn't age. Yeah, yeah.

Luciano (37:19.966)
No, I'm talking before because she was talking like, you said you were gonna come back and you never did. That's when she was a child. And she said, but people needed me. And she said, I needed you. It was like, oh great, I'm gonna stop saving three planets to go play with you.

Chris (37:20.774)
And she was gone. Yes. Yes, true. True.

Matt (37:25.537)
Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, but I-

Matt (37:33.921)
Nah, you're a monster. Do you think children have emotions that are rational and make sense? I don't give a fuck if you're just... Yeah, but that's trauma.

Spencer (37:35.555)
You could come for a day in over 20 fucking years.

Luciano (37:39.082)
I don't know.

Chris (37:40.767)
That's a lot of time.

Luciano (37:43.067)
No, but she was an adult at that point.

Spencer (37:45.327)
But the trauma was from when she was a child.

Chris (37:47.706)
Right, all that time, like a bro- Mm-hmm.

Luciano (37:48.29)
Right. And that's what I'm saying. I'm not saying that it was it was right or wrong. Like I was I thought they were going to establish that like as a conversation that was going to happen in the movie between the two of them. But it never did. She just says it. And I go, okay, so yeah, somehow, it never happened. That's why I say it doesn't pay off. Right. It just thrown there.

Spencer (37:54.343)
Sounds like you're saying it's wrong.

Spencer (38:01.932)
Ah, like coming to terms with it.

Chris (38:10.058)
That's interesting.

Spencer (38:10.711)
Alright, I respect that. You're a monster, but I understand you more.

Matt (38:11.149)
You're still a monster.

Luciano (38:13.818)
Well, we knew that.

Matt (38:15.613)
Alright.

Chris (38:17.578)
For me, that's interesting. Your perspective, we don't have to go too much longer, but I see what you're saying. But for me, it was resolved because Monica got that thing off her chest and then she's like, hold that, Aunt Carol. And then Carol's like, fuck, I gotta acknowledge that. And then...

Luciano (38:28.306)
And then...

Matt (38:32.825)
We've all gone to therapy, just getting it out and telling the person sometimes is enough. Yeah. Speaking of therapy, let's talk about Captain Marvel.

Luciano (38:35.914)
This is of, yeah, it's very important. You're right. Yeah. Anyway. HAHAHAHA Wait, what?

Spencer (38:42.531)
Yeah, dad, I am something. Sorry, sorry. Nothing.

Matt (38:45.215)
Ha ha.

Luciano (38:45.542)
Wow holy, I'm not a failure mom.

Chris (38:48.01)
Tomorrow we'll get together tomorrow there. You know what I'm in here.

Matt (38:51.187)
Yeah

Spencer (38:52.455)
Hehehe

Matt (38:55.237)
You don't know the words to that song, Chris, at all?

Chris (38:57.642)
Fuck that song. I don't have a dad. Yeah.

Luciano (38:58.295)
Ha!

Spencer (38:59.035)
Hehe

Matt (39:00.389)
Jesus. Okay, we're gonna leave, we're gonna just leave that where it is and not, it's fine.

Luciano (39:03.095)
Oh my god.

Spencer (39:03.115)
I'm gonna leave that old nugget on the cutting room floor.

Chris (39:05.162)
W R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R

Matt (39:10.042)
That's it.

Chris (39:10.811)
You said therapy. This was very cathartic.

Spencer (39:12.126)
Yeah

Matt (39:13.461)
We're not equipped to handle that portion of therapy. I want to talk about Captain Marvel and we need to talk about Captain Marvel because She don't make sense We are given a power level in The first Captain Marvel movie and the power level is I can destroy Star cruisers I can take any punishment you throw at me and destroy you and it's tamped down by the Cree

Chris (39:16.051)
No, you're not! Yeah!

Luciano (39:16.266)
No.

Chris (39:25.003)
or how.

Mm-hmm.

Luciano (39:30.775)
Right.

Chris (39:30.954)
Mm-hmm.

Matt (39:42.685)
army basically, putting you know restrictors on her. And so and then and then we see her show up in Avengers in Endgame and she fucking like goes toe to toe with Thanos like he fucking doesn't exist.

Luciano (39:47.169)
Yeah.

Chris (39:47.794)
Mmm.

Luciano (39:52.183)
Yeah.

Luciano (39:56.142)
She flies through like gigantic ships. Yeah.

Chris (39:56.586)
Mm-hmm.

Spencer (39:58.279)
This is like 20 ships.

Matt (39:59.809)
Yeah, like it's like and so now

Luciano (40:02.874)
Even here, right? She just like flies like bombing ships. She re-lit a sun!

Spencer (40:06.823)
Am I crazy? I thought in this movie-

Matt (40:07.025)
She flew across space very fast. Yeah, there's one.

Chris (40:11.783)
Mm-hmm.

Spencer (40:13.379)
I thought in this movie, for some reason, she was like holding back. And I thought there was gonna be like a reason why. Like she never went full Super Saiyan mode in this movie that I recall.

Chris (40:19.32)
Mm-hmm.

Luciano (40:27.826)
except when she reignited the sun.

Matt (40:28.017)
Mmm... The sun.

Chris (40:28.394)
doesn't. Right.

Spencer (40:29.495)
except when she reignites the sun. But maybe the, like, if they, they should have said that, just to make, from a writer's point of view, like we all know, writing a character that's like, literally the more powerful than anything in existence is tough to have her be in fights without this question coming up. I thought they could have at least been like, oh, the mixing, the switching bodies thing, whatever the fuck was going on there was dampening her powers or something. Just.

Luciano (40:39.874)
Super powerful.

Chris (40:54.331)
Might have weakened Sure

Matt (40:57.189)
They gave, no they gave, uh, Garben a bangle.

Luciano (40:57.66)
Yeah

Luciano (41:01.226)
Yeah, and a hammer.

Chris (41:01.354)
True.

Spencer (41:01.805)
Yeah, that's, she's fine.

Matt (41:03.393)
Yeah, the universal weapon sir, not just a hammer. The hammer?

Chris (41:06.174)
True. And there's several.

Spencer (41:07.043)
I'm pretty sure that even with that bangle, regular Ms. Marvel could turn her into a pink dust if she just sneezed in her direction.

Luciano (41:13.343)
Yeah.

Matt (41:16.485)
Probably.

Chris (41:18.982)
You would need both bangles to really wipe out. You would need both bangles and like, but Darvon didn't. But she's inexperienced.

Spencer (41:23.515)
Well that's what I thought was gonna happen. I thought when she got both bangles, they were gonna have a big epic final fight, and then instead she disintegrates herself into fucking dust. Yeah.

Luciano (41:29.478)
Yeah, I'd be here for that. But purple mist, yeah. Yeah. Ha ha ha.

Chris (41:29.81)
Right. But she's inexperienced, that's why. Yeah, she's very inexperienced with like, she barely could handle the, she handled the one like defensively.

Spencer (41:40.495)
I don't care about your real world reasoning in the movie, from a writing point of view, why not make it a fucking cool ass fight?

Luciano (41:40.858)
Yeah, no, but Chris, yeah, Chris, like they could have just said, like, because the guy was worried, right? The guy her lies on attache aid, whatever the fuck that was. We don't even get a name for the guy. He's just the guy.

Matt (41:43.173)
Yeah.

Chris (41:47.054)
I agree with you. That's why she didn't, she couldn't think.

Chris (41:52.678)
Yes, her number two.

Matt (41:57.033)
Yeah.

Chris (41:59.078)
Was it... No, I'm not gonna do it. I was gonna say was... That feels right. AHHH

Spencer (42:02.831)
Pretty sure his name was Jared from Subway.

Matt (42:06.981)
Jarben?

Spencer (42:07.727)
Charpent. Charpent from Subway.

Luciano (42:07.982)
Jarvan, Jarvan. Yeah. But like he says, oh, it's too much for you. And it would have been cool if she put it on and she's like, no, I can handle it. And then have a super epic fight with Captain Marvel instead of turning into Purple Mist.

Chris (42:15.502)
Mr. Worded.

Spencer (42:21.859)
Yeah. Imagine if Thanos got all the fucking stones and then he was like IT'S TOO MUCH POWER FOR ME AND EXPLODES

Matt (42:24.153)
That's great.

Luciano (42:26.834)
and exploded, yeah.

Matt (42:28.409)
Hey... Hey Spencer, imagine if we talked about Captain Marvel and why she's overpowered. No, you're talking about how Darben fought her. That's just... you know.

Chris (42:30.599)
Hehe.

Spencer (42:34.223)
This is Captain Marvel.

Chris (42:36.242)
He was hoping.

Spencer (42:38.743)
No, I'm saying, fair. I went on a little bit of a, now that you're pointing it out, I'm stepping back and I'm looking at it, hands up for accountability.

Matt (42:43.251)
I'm sorry.

Chris (42:47.401)
You know what?

Matt (42:50.157)
This, well this is the challenge right? It's like they probably didn't have her fighter because like they, she has the Superman problem. Why do all the Superman movies generally suck is because they always pick like villains that, well they pick Lex Luthor and, and no but like they pick, that's true too. That is actually a real problem. But like they pick Lex Luthor and they make him into like this weird Joker offshoot character instead of like.

Chris (42:52.478)
Hmm.

Luciano (43:04.034)
Can't, yeah.

Spencer (43:05.311)
You can say they always pick Zack Snyder to direct them.

Luciano (43:08.374)
That too. Ha ha ha.

Chris (43:18.011)
Oh, oh, oh!

Matt (43:18.329)
The things that get Superman messed up are people who can outthink him and catch him in his like philosophical loopholes and trap him. And Captain Marvel doesn't, I don't know her villains that well, but the one she's been presented with is just might on might nonsense. And like she's gonna prevail. She acts pretty stupidly through most of this movie because somehow one bangle, if she Wonder Woman is in her face, she can't defeat her. Can't fly around her fast, can't get a sword or anything like...

Spencer (43:19.741)
Woohoo!

Luciano (43:23.799)
Yeah.

Chris (43:26.13)
Yeah.

Luciano (43:46.396)
And yeah, and she keeps powering her up even when she knows that shooting at her powers her up. Yeah, yeah. And it's like you could say that, oh, she's a hero so she wouldn't want to kind of fly through Darven and explode her. And that's fine. But if she can manage how much power she uses to fight, she can still probably like tap her lightly in the head and put her to sleep.

Spencer (43:49.235)
Yeah, she keeps shooting lasers at her. She even says, I could absorb your lasers.

Matt (43:49.817)
And she knows it!

Chris (43:51.754)
Tom.

Luciano (44:12.386)
take the bangle off, put her in prison, and be done with it.

Spencer (44:13.699)
Are we gonna pretend that Ms. Marble doesn't kill thousands of people every time she flies through a ship? You think those are unmanned?

Luciano (44:21.568)
That's true. I don't even have that as an excuse, you're right.

Spencer (44:24.75)
Hehehehe, dun dun!

Matt (44:25.233)
I mean, she just shot and killed a bunch of Korean soldiers in going through Darben ship as far as I saw.

Luciano (44:30.772)
Yeah.

Yeah.

Spencer (44:34.134)
She just flies through ships fucking like it's like it's nothing and yeah

Luciano (44:35.954)
and explodes them.

Matt (44:38.353)
I don't think she got the annihilator name. For no reason. Yeah.

Spencer (44:40.867)
Yeah, exactly. For having a Batman moral compass. I think that's fair. But I agree, she should have...

Luciano (44:41.922)
For no reason, yeah. Yeah.

Luciano (44:48.001)
Yeah.

Luciano (44:53.118)
And Darben fights not only her but the three of them at the same time and she fights them to a standstill.

Matt (44:57.585)
it's... which, which... okay, so listen, Spencer, I know I said don't focus on Darben, but let's talk about it. Let's talk about it just a little bit. Because if she's able to handle, Darben is able to handle all three of them, magically, I'm doing air quotes, coquitly, then in theory, she should be able to go toe-to-toe with Captain Marvel. Alone.

Luciano (45:04.002)
Hahaha!

Spencer (45:05.394)
I forgive you. Yeah, I'll allow it.

Luciano (45:12.415)
Yeah.

Spencer (45:14.587)
Go Kidley!

Luciano (45:16.098)
Cogadly. I have our explanation.

Chris (45:16.695)
Ayyy

Luciano (45:23.646)
Alone, yeah, for sure. And she'll be able to win because she doesn't have the help of the other two. But then if that is the case, how come a piece of fallen debris from the tower there pierces or almost kills her?

Spencer (45:39.215)
Yeah. Like, why didn't Captain Marvel just whip spears at her?

Matt (45:39.279)
Well.

Luciano (45:40.978)
Like that doesn't make any sense. If Captain Marvel can punch her, yeah. If Captain Marvel can punch her and not run her through with her hand, how come a little piece of rock can?

Matt (45:53.285)
Chris? Well, no, I think we have to ask Chris because Chris has been sitting here and he has been deep in thought and we need to unleash the thought beast.

Spencer (45:53.828)
Cause that rock wasn't light.

Spencer (45:58.855)
pondering.

Spencer (46:05.488)
You can't de-leash that beast.

Luciano (46:08.086)
That's true. It's a risk you're taking.

Chris (46:09.574)
Well, this is a specific question. I need something to anchor to. So your approach makes sense. So we want to know why Darben, like, why she wasn't taken out. Like, that's the thing I'm trying to-

Luciano (46:13.471)
HAHAHAHAHAHA

Matt (46:19.885)
No, I want to know why Captain Marvel didn't... why Captain Marvel like... what Captain Marvel... it's just I just don't like... why did they set her up with all that power and then not have a plan on how to like implement her in a movie? Because having a bangle that blocks all of her power and sucks it up is just like... it's...

Luciano (46:25.966)
Who Captain Marvel? How Captain Marvel? Ha ha ha.

Spencer (46:28.359)
Hehehe

Chris (46:35.602)
Yeah.

Luciano (46:43.398)
Awful. Yeah.

Spencer (46:44.192)
Lazy.

Matt (46:45.501)
so lazy and it makes the movie so boring because then you can't have a cool fight scene because it's just like I gotta wrangle

Chris (46:46.578)
Yeah.

Spencer (46:50.587)
This bangle is kryptonite. I mean, it's light infused. Light tonight. Yeah.

Luciano (46:53.433)
Yeah

Matt (46:55.446)
light the night.

Chris (46:55.522)
Mm-mm. It's darkness. And, so it's the answer to that question is linked to the same reason the supreme, like the Cree AI, the supreme intelligence was destroyed. Like over comics, that AI, the supreme intelligence is like part of her rogues gallery. And so.

Luciano (46:56.974)
this.

Matt (47:08.624)
All right.

Luciano (47:15.847)
Oh, I didn't know that.

Spencer (47:15.847)
That would have been cool in a movie.

Chris (47:17.73)
It's like, because it's...

Matt (47:18.809)
So, I'm sorry, they killed her in a flash, they killed her best villain in a fucking flashback? What the fuck?

Spencer (47:23.571)
Yeah

Luciano (47:23.725)
Yeah.

Chris (47:23.81)
Yes, yes they did. Which is mind boggling, but it makes me worried about Marvel movies. I mean, like sure they've been on a downtrend for some time now, but it's very concerning, deeply concerning because there's an array of, to your point you asked, your original question was why, why depowered Captain Marvel? And the answer to that is stupidity from the writers sitting on all of that.

Luciano (47:32.869)
A while, yeah.

Matt (47:50.498)
Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Luciano (47:51.726)
Bad writing is the answer to many of our questions.

Chris (47:53.246)
All of that lore, wasting the supreme intelligence, wasting, we've already surfaced the question of Darben and like misdirection when like the three of them were trying to take her on, don't use their powers or use them to distract and then like one gets a good hit in but they were still overpowering her until Ms. Marvel got a little too cocky and got caught, right? But even, and that's, even that's okay, but it comes down to bad writing.

which is unfortunate. Go for it.

Matt (48:23.182)
Can I ask a follow-up question to this Chris? And obviously it's a little bit of a sidebar. If the supreme intelligence...

Chris (48:34.014)
Here we go.

Matt (48:36.013)
Or maybe this question, why doesn't the Supreme Intelligence have the foresight that the entity does in Dead Reckoning?

Luciano (48:44.989)
Oh no.

Spencer (48:46.309)
Why would you do this?

Matt (48:46.425)
because the supreme intelligence could have prevented being blown up by Captain Marvel.

Chris (48:51.31)
I love that question and you are 100% correct, which is again, sorry, proof positive that Marvel's slipping. I hate to say it because, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, because the Supreme Intelligence, one of their core abilities is cosmic awareness. So they had it, they had it and they didn't, they had it and Marvel, the Marvel's movie, what would we call it?

Spencer (49:01.174)
or

Matt (49:12.197)
Fuck off.

Luciano (49:12.842)
Well, this one didn't have it. This...

Chris (49:20.99)
Fuck them. So, to your dead reckoning thing, yeah.

Luciano (49:22.249)
Yeah.

Matt (49:22.325)
Okay, so... Or...

Spencer (49:23.556)
Or maybe the supreme intelligence wasn't destroyed and it merely implanted that memory in her brain with that device.

Chris (49:33.286)
like that too.

Matt (49:33.413)
What device? Oh, but then why is HALA shit?

Luciano (49:36.366)
fucked

Spencer (49:37.543)
Because that's the supreme intelligence did that to cover up its fake death.

Luciano (49:43.934)
Oh, this is, this is, this is flat earth all over again. This is a conspiracy of 40 million people. Ha ha ha.

Chris (49:44.454)
Ohhhh! No, no, no! Do you see what he's doing? Do you see?

Matt (49:50.597)
Fla-

Luciano (49:54.018)
fair. My bad, my bad. Wait, flat holla? Flat holla is just a pita.

Chris (49:54.252)
Flat Gala!

Spencer (49:54.795)
All I'm saying is when you look out on Hollis Horizon, it don't curve, okay? How come? Fuck you! I tip my hat to you, sir. That would actually be cool. I know I'm joking, but it would be cooler if she was like...

Matt (50:01.349)
Hehehehe. Haha.

Chris (50:03.582)
and tasty at that.

Matt (50:04.869)
God damn it!

Chris (50:11.505)
Make sure you bring the olive oil. Um, okay, so it would! It's like, it's...

Luciano (50:11.768)
I don't know.

Spencer (50:20.599)
If it turned out that the, what's her name? The main villain in this movie, what's her name? If Darben was, I genuinely can't remember her name. I did, but Darben is such a forgettable name. If Darben was actually secretly being manipulated by the Supreme Intelligence, and at the end you find out that the Supreme Intelligence is still alive, setting up a sequel, which won't be made because this movie didn't make money. But that would have been cool. Also, it would have been cool if.

Chris (50:22.694)
Mind games. Darben.

Luciano (50:24.654)
Darben. Who? Ha ha ha. Yeah, here we go.

Matt (50:28.168)
Did you watch this movie Spencer?

Chris (50:30.732)
Who?

Matt (50:36.301)
Yeah. Yep. Great.

Chris (50:36.53)
Who? Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Luciano (50:38.01)
That would have been cool, yeah, yeah.

Luciano (50:46.19)
Hahaha

Spencer (50:49.623)
She put on both bangles and super powered up and they had to learn to work as a team to defeat her and have a classic finale. But yeah.

Matt (50:55.425)
That would've been great. It's interesting to me that they want to do, at times they show different things. Like obviously having Darben die in space, like a little bitch instead of actually fighting it out, was, it was a way for them to, we're gonna do something different in our movie. But it's like, every movie maker seems so scared of presenting a villain or a nemesis that has intelligence. Is it because like they don't think that the masses would understand?

Chris (50:56.667)
Yes.

Spencer (51:07.099)
What a weird choice.

Luciano (51:08.716)
Yeah.

Chris (51:08.785)
It's a waste. It's a huge waste.

Matt (51:23.725)
Like are they so scared of like, because almost every time it's like, it's might on might, right? Like.

Spencer (51:29.063)
I think it's because it takes intelligence to write an intelligent character, and these scripts are written by AI robots.

Chris (51:29.098)
Mm-hmm.

Chris (51:33.226)
Hmm.

Chris (51:37.438)
Hmm DC AI robots Warner brother AI

Matt (51:37.537)
Like the, I mean that's probably true.

Luciano (51:38.838)
Well, it's formulaic to the point I would believe that.

Matt (51:43.233)
Well, here's the thing. Warner Brothers has probably presented the only intelligent nemesis when they brought the Riddler for the Batman. Like, at least there was an attempt there to make Batman think and work as a detective. Yeah.

Spencer (51:44.155)
Uh oh. Uh oh! Warner Brother AI robots.

Spencer (51:53.963)
Yeah. Or the Joker, Dark Knight.

Chris (51:58.25)
Hmm.

Luciano (51:59.626)
Yeah, even when it would have made sense for Ultron to be super smart, like he tries, he just like, oh, I'm going to use my super smartness to become stronger. And that's it. Yeah.

Spencer (52:04.771)
He just fights.

Chris (52:09.706)
Hmm puppets on a string

Spencer (52:13.887)
It'd be nice to see a Marvel movie with like a chess match against a villain. Maneuver, counter maneuver, you know, like them actually trying to out think each other. You know, but that's... I don't think Marvel's ever done that.

Chris (52:18.012)
Yeah.

Matt (52:20.218)
Mm.

Chris (52:23.082)
I can't remember the last time, like, a Marvel movie. I can't remember the... Okay.

Luciano (52:26.266)
I think you're right, Matt. I think it's like, oh, let's not risk some of these stupid idiots that watch our movie not understanding what we mean. Yeah. I think you're right. I think that's what it is. It's like, let's make it showy and a lot of bad CG, which this had in spades, and then everybody will understand, even though it's not particularly clever.

Spencer (52:35.463)
We don't want to alienate the dumb brains.

Matt (52:49.561)
Yeah.

Matt (52:52.833)
These movies are specifically tailored for Incel Spencer.

Luciano (52:57.112)
Nooo

Spencer (52:57.127)
Oh, that's the third time. And somebody say, himself, Spencer, three times into a computer screen alone in their basement. Because I'm here.

Chris (52:58.274)
No, no,

Matt (53:09.354)
Oh god.

Luciano (53:09.383)
I mean, he only watched this movie to be angry because there were only women in this movie.

Spencer (53:12.591)
What is this movie? Three women leading a movie?

Matt (53:17.8)
And a fourth villain.

Spencer (53:19.863)
And the fourth, four lead women? What was the box office, guys? I'll take a guess. Oh! Go, you go woke, you broke. You go woke, you broke, broke.

Chris (53:21.418)
There are four villains?

Luciano (53:26.05)
Hahaha!

Matt (53:26.926)
Ha ha ha!

Now, in South Spencer, all superhero movies are trending into the basement. It's not just this one.

Spencer (53:35.279)
Nah, you go woke, you go broke. Listen, listen, if I was to make this movie, I would cast Henry Cavill as Miss Barvel.

Clint Eastwood as Captain Marvel, and you got yourself a blockbuster hit.

Chris (53:46.927)
Mm-hmm.

Matt (53:51.341)
What about, so yeah, Monica Rambo.

Luciano (53:52.875)
Monica Rambeau.

Chris (53:53.267)
Monica.

Spencer (53:54.179)
Monica Rambeau, Chris Rock.

Luciano (53:58.571)
I was gonna go with Eddie Murphy myself, but...

Chris (54:00.69)
Biggest fan!

Spencer (54:02.152)
Eddie Murphy, easy. And you got yourself a hit.

Matt (54:04.357)
Okay, who plays the villain then, uh, in So Spencer?

Chris (54:08.33)
Sinbad.

Spencer (54:08.411)
Donald Trump. Ha.

Luciano (54:09.423)
Dov Lundgren

Chris (54:11.192)
Oh ho ho!

Matt (54:12.717)
Wait, but Donald Trump, I thought you liked Donald Trump. How was he the villain?

Spencer (54:15.171)
The actor? From Home Alone 2.

Luciano (54:17.238)
Donald Trump the actor the actor from the actor from Home Alone 2

Chris (54:19.29)
Donald Trump the apprentice. Home Alone 2 and The Apprentice.

Matt (54:24.293)
Ha ha

Spencer (54:26.911)
Yeah, he's the villain. He exerts power.

Matt (54:27.701)
True. Okay.

Luciano (54:32.921)
Can we put St. Sel's Spencer back on the white van?

Spencer (54:36.035)
Oh, he said it four times. That just makes me more powerful.

Matt (54:37.704)
Yeah.

Luciano (54:38.622)
What? Do do we do we have to have him say his name backwards?

Chris (54:40.091)
Oh no. Oh no! You unlocked his, you unlocked his latent abilities!

Chris (54:47.783)
Oh!

Matt (54:47.885)
I think I think so.

Luciano (54:49.294)
Ha ha ha!

Spencer (54:49.559)
Let me... RENSON PUSH! Hehehehe

Chris (54:52.254)
Yeah

Wuhu

Luciano (54:55.086)
This is puss.

Matt (54:56.156)
Got him! Okay, I think we've talked Catherine Marvel as the Bot Hole to Death. This is a little one I want to talk about for, you know, five minutes. The whole flurkin' egg thing. Well, I guess it's, yeah, the eggs and then the flurkin' showing up and swallowing all the inhabitants of the space station to get them to Earth.

Spencer (54:56.359)
Thanks for watching!

Luciano (55:11.771)
Uh, yeah.

Luciano (55:20.467)
Why?

Matt (55:22.199)
Couldn't Valkyrie have just come over again and be like, rainbow bridge these fuckers down to the earth? Thanks bud.

Luciano (55:23.852)
Yeah.

Chris (55:27.55)
Oooo

Luciano (55:28.169)
Yeah, Valkyrie could have come in and the eagles could have flown to Mordor. Yeah. A hundred percent. Oh, fuck. He's not back.

Spencer (55:31.927)
Not only is this movie all women, the biggest plot device is about pussy and eggs and pregnancy! Oh no! Sorry! Sorry, sorry! Sorry, I was just back in the box.

Matt (55:35.129)
Hey!

Luciano (55:38.926)
Ha ha!

Chris (55:41.246)
NNNN

Luciano (55:44.118)
Hahaha!

Chris (55:44.976)
Bye.

Matt (55:45.252)
Hey, it's us, Mr. You get you get out of here get out of here

Spencer (55:48.18)
Sorry, I don't know what came over me.

Chris (55:51.486)
Get the water, get the water spray bottle.

Luciano (55:53.493)
Yeah.

Matt (55:54.769)
I'm sorry.

Luciano (55:57.984)
Hahaha!

Chris (55:59.582)
Uh...

Matt (55:59.734)
Yeah, but like, it was fun, but it's... That's the last thing you remember, right? Hala... Sorry, it's PETA is the planet now. We renamed it. Yeah. But like, so the four-crown thing, it's like, it's the... To me, it's just like the prime example of like, we want this bit in the movie so bad that we're just going to find a way to stuff it in. But it's like, these random eggs show up on the space station.

Spencer (56:01.415)
We sing Hell is Flat? That's a lot, that's where I left. Oh yeah, Hell is Flat like PETA, that's where I checked out.

Chris (56:04.896)
Yeah

Luciano (56:10.855)
Yeah.

Chris (56:11.578)
Yes, yes, yes.

Spencer (56:23.738)
Yeah.

Matt (56:26.841)
with no context.

Luciano (56:27.947)
But is that why or was it like, oh, fuck, we have to figure out a way of getting all of these people out so we're just going to shove in this idea that someone had?

Matt (56:36.345)
Well, they created the problem of all the pods losing power, right? They created a thing, a thing that didn't need to have happen.

Spencer (56:36.495)
No.

Luciano (56:39.47)
Fair enough, fair enough, fair enough. So like just as an excuse for the eggs and the... Yeah, that's true. I mean, nothing related to that fucking space station needed to have happened.

Chris (56:49.694)
because challenges.

Spencer (56:49.771)
Yeah, no, it was definitely, you know, it was like, they're like, what worked in the first movie, the first movie made a billion dollars. Let's they like there was a flurkin and we ate people and that was fun. How do we work that into the script? And it was like, oh, well, it can eat people and they don't die. I don't know. Did they didn't they die in the first one, though? I don't remember them coming back out.

Matt (57:11.305)
Well, no one ever says they just never come back, so...

Luciano (57:13.586)
Yeah, they just... yeah, for sure.

Spencer (57:14.683)
That was a lot cooler.

Spencer (57:18.932)
But now they're just portals, apparently. Yeah. Yes, they're TARDISes.

Luciano (57:22.656)
Bags of holding.

Matt (57:23.917)
Yeah, their bags will hold it.

Luciano (57:28.549)
Yeah, that works too.

Matt (57:28.749)
Yeah, I mean, that's fair too. 100%.

Spencer (57:31.587)
Um, so yeah, which is way less cool and way more family friendly. Fine. Um, but yeah, they, I think they were just like, Oh, we've got to work these things in their fun and what if we had kittens? What if we had baby flirkens?

Chris (57:32.387)
Mmmm

Spencer (57:46.799)
All of you so cute and what if we make an analogy that the only thing that can save them is a pregnancy of a woman Sorry that was it's not Spencer again

Luciano (57:47.906)
Jeez, that was so dis-

Chris (57:48.766)
Poi fails.

Luciano (57:54.253)
No!

Matt (57:54.73)
Wait...

Chris (57:56.61)
That's not in cell- oh shoot I said it again. I gotta counter it. Reknips let me.

Luciano (57:59.351)
All right.

Spencer (58:03.792)
Oh, I'm sorry.

Luciano (58:05.538)
Hahaha

Chris (58:08.21)
What?

Matt (58:10.961)
Okay.

Luciano (58:12.516)
It goes on in a puff in a puff of like Cheetos

Spencer (58:18.005)
Yeah, yeah, just orange dust.

Matt (58:18.137)
Doritos and Mountain Dew, I think.

Luciano (58:19.204)
Yeah. No Doritos, I'm undue. Yeah, you're right. Yeah.

Chris (58:19.738)
No Doritos. Not Doritos, not my beloved Doritos. Okay, anyways. Okay, good.

Matt (58:24.761)
The Draft Show ones, no need to those.

Luciano (58:28.174)
Cool wrench.

Matt (58:28.673)
Um, yeah, it's just, it was just a, like, it's not, it's not a pl- Like, I think this is the problem. We had a bit of a challenge finding plot holes because they put enough of a broad stroke in that kind of explained it. So they like, they do the thing where it's like, no, there's eggs popping up all over the spaceship. That's a weird mystery. Turns out they're just flurkins. Don't worry about it. And, and, um, what's the name of the original flurkin? Goose. Yeah, Goose. Oh, Goose was just pregnant the whole time, but it's just like-

Chris (58:30.666)
Flirkens.

Spencer (58:50.731)
And now said flurkin' can save us. Goose.

Luciano (58:53.122)
Goose.

Chris (58:55.018)
Mm-hmm.

Matt (58:57.197)
Okay, but like how come you're just detecting all these eggs now? Is Goose just now laying all these eggs? Or are they on the space station the whole time? Etc, etc, etc. And so it's just like, it's just, that's the movie, it's just like, You kind of explained it, but you kind of didn't? I have ffff-follow.

Spencer (59:09.991)
I think you described it once as it's like, I think in the past you described it as not a plot hole, but like a plot Swiss cheese, where it's like, yeah, but many little holes that like, you know, but it does hold together, but weakly. Yeah, yeah.

Matt (59:18.257)
I mean, cheese has many, Swiss cheese has many holes in it, just to be.

Luciano (59:25.134)
They don't affect the integrity of the plot, but they're still there. Yeah, I can see that, yeah. I think there's a lot of that here. And this thing with the Flurkins is the same thing that I was talking about before, where it's like they have the reasoning behind it, but then they implement it and you go like, this doesn't really actually work, right? It's like, why did it have to be this way? They set up a problem.

Just to have the kittens there, I guess just for the cute factor

Matt (59:55.525)
Like so, if we showed Goose just, if we just saw Goose getting plowed or plowing, I'm not sure how fucking physiology works, whatever.

Chris (59:56.554)
Seems that way.

Luciano (59:57.565)
Is that why?

Luciano (01:00:03.862)
Oh... Wow! That went... that went... fast! That escalated quickly! Hahahaha!

Spencer (01:00:06.799)
Now here's the twist, we show it all. Ha ha.

Matt (01:00:11.93)
Well, I was gonna say, if we show that happening and then Goose throwing up things in the space station, does that make it better? Like how do we, how would you do it so that this is, this makes sense for the plot? Because like, it does feel like it comes out of nowhere, but I honestly can't make a connection to connect it all through the movie.

Spencer (01:00:33.923)
I think if you even start the movie with the cat being pregnant, like that's just known.

Luciano (01:00:34.038)
Does it need to happen?

Matt (01:00:40.193)
Yeah. I think that works.

Luciano (01:00:41.066)
Oh, I see. Because they show Goose right from the beginning, right? Maybe Captain Marvel can show, like when they show the two of them and she can go, oh, you're acting weird, what's happening? Or something like that. And then like throughout, you kind of see it. Yeah. And then show her laying the eggs. It doesn't have to be a surprise or something like that. Cause it doesn't add anything to, oh, we found this.

Spencer (01:00:45.217)
Yeah.

Chris (01:00:51.066)
Yes.

Spencer (01:00:52.819)
Yeah, so it doesn't seem build towards it.

Matt (01:00:56.129)
see Goose doing stuff. Yeah.

Chris (01:00:56.22)
Pepper it.

Matt (01:01:01.173)
Right, yeah. Whenever they, whenever a thing happens and at the end they're like, oh, this thing happened is like, that's not how movies work at all. You can't do that.

Spencer (01:01:03.599)
And here's...

Spencer (01:01:09.471)
Yeah, that's, yeah, you can't just like say it after the fact. And it would be, you know, add a lot of things, make it way more interesting too, is if they were like, there's a good chance not all of you will be unswallowed by the Flirkin's. Like an added risk that they could be eaten.

Luciano (01:01:10.034)
Yeah.

Chris (01:01:26.03)
Hmm.

Luciano (01:01:28.089)
Oh, I see.

Chris (01:01:29.33)
Cause the babies, yeah, cause the baby, the kittens don't know any better. Yeah.

Luciano (01:01:31.382)
The babies don't know not to digest you when they swallow you. Yeah.

Spencer (01:01:33.748)
Yeah, yeah, exactly. Like it's our only choice. And then it's like, it turns out they lose like, maybe what, like a quarter of the crew.

Matt (01:01:40.409)
Well, so Spencer, this is a great thing you've mentioned, and I think it's a good time to segue into our questions section of the podcast. And we're talking about the vlurkans eating all the inhabitants of the space station so they can all fit on the one remaining escape pod. But I want to know what happens to a human or a Kree or whoever when they get eaten by a vlurkans because they don't die instantly, clearly.

Luciano (01:01:57.378)
Hehehehe

Luciano (01:02:03.954)
Oh yeah, nothing even when the objects they just come back as they were right?

Matt (01:02:09.698)
Right, so what's going on in there?

Spencer (01:02:13.095)
It does seem, it does almost seem like a portal. Right?

Chris (01:02:13.322)
The objects weren't... Okay, go ahead.

Luciano (01:02:17.131)
Yeah, but to where?

Spencer (01:02:20.151)
I mean, Six Flags, California. I don't know where Six Flags is.

Chris (01:02:20.414)
Six Flags Mountain.

Matt (01:02:25.11)
Okay. So Chris, in this, when I go to Six Flags, are you just deposited at the gate? Do you just drop to the roller coaster? Like, where do you end up?

Chris (01:02:25.179)
Yeah.

Chris (01:02:32.538)
You can't control like well actually no sorry correction i'm just getting this is new report you are placed in the gift shop um with uh with funnel cakes the hybrid say that again no you have you're confined to the gift shop because the you've been transported you've been flurred right you've been flurred and so you're tethered yeah

Luciano (01:02:39.)
Doof

Luciano (01:02:42.562)
That makes sense.

Spencer (01:02:44.581)
Ooh.

Matt (01:02:48.144)
Can you leave the gift shop? Oh.

Luciano (01:02:54.074)
Yeah, if you try to step out it's like Silent Hill, the mist of Silent Hill if you try to step out.

Matt (01:02:54.081)
Right. Right, right, right.

Matt (01:03:00.631)
Okay.

Chris (01:03:01.966)
Right, if you, there's a certain proximity that you must adhere to if you intend to, if you have any intention of going, getting deflurked. So you've, you've

Matt (01:03:10.813)
Right, and so the ones that get fully flurked, they're the ones that golf under the mist

Spencer (01:03:12.004)
Can I ask you, Chris?

Chris (01:03:15.165)
Mm.

into the midst of Six Flags. Forever.

Luciano (01:03:17.819)
And never seeing again.

Spencer (01:03:18.183)
They get to stay at Six Flags. Then the rest of the park opens up. It's not so bad. Let me ask you, Chris, when you're in the gift shop with the funnel cakes, are you transported with enough money to purchase a funnel cake?

Matt (01:03:20.289)
Yeah. Right.

Chris (01:03:25.394)
Yeah.

Chris (01:03:32.43)
No, you've gotta suck dick in order to get the rest.

Matt (01:03:35.025)
Thanks for watching!

Luciano (01:03:35.714)
What? Duh, that, again, that escalated quickly. Ha ha.

Matt (01:03:40.311)
So who or what dick are you sucking?

Spencer (01:03:41.24)
Oh ho

Chris (01:03:44.978)
That's the question and most likely it's the Six Flags staff. Moving on.

Matt (01:03:51.077)
That live in the flurkin?

Spencer (01:03:51.196)
I got six I got six inches of flag for you Sorry Chris does this to me

Matt (01:03:55.069)
Jesus. We've gone too far. Listen, you work out your weird sexual tension on your own time.

Luciano (01:04:00.907)
Hahaha!

Chris (01:04:02.142)
Hey, high five!

Spencer (01:04:02.959)
You got the hell...

Luciano (01:04:06.766)
Hahaha

Chris (01:04:07.386)
It's not tension. Do you want the final cake or do you not? This is your home now.

Spencer (01:04:10.959)
The intention is when it doesn't happen.

Luciano (01:04:11.418)
No, I do not. I do not. I will do without a funnel cake. Thank you very much.

Matt (01:04:13.746)
I do not. No. No, I heart hard pass.

Spencer (01:04:18.583)
Your laugh. Gook, gook, gook. Ha.

Matt (01:04:26.004)
We're moving on because I don't want to be here anymore.

Chris (01:04:28.65)
And that's how you get Matt to segue quicker than usual.

Luciano (01:04:31.38)
Yeah.

Matt (01:04:32.613)
Coming back to uh, Felatio on Six Flags employees. What? What happened? Nick Fury was so paranoid and having a schizophrenic break in a secret invasion. And now he's just cracking jokes, jokes having the time of his life on the space station, working for Sabre, which is probably infected by some evil organization. We're not gonna worry about that right now. But what happened? What made him, that felt vaguely racist? I'm not sure.

Luciano (01:04:34.67)
incoming

Chris (01:04:37.49)
What, oh we're back, we're still there? Okay.

Spencer (01:04:38.951)
Hehehehe

Chris (01:04:55.018)
Hmm

Luciano (01:04:59.062)
Hahahaha

Spencer (01:05:02.079)
Yeah. What was the question?

Matt (01:05:03.649)
Um, the question is what happened for Nick Fury that made him so happy? Like now. Oh God.

Luciano (01:05:07.81)
So he got eaten by a flurkin and he went to Six Flags. Ha ha ha.

Spencer (01:05:09.287)
He went to Six Flags.

Chris (01:05:12.163)
See? Posed as... Yes, he posed as an employee because he can't... He's not at the bottom of the run. He's easily regional director. So you've got... You've got slob...

Matt (01:05:13.581)
Wait, but he was Six Flags employee?

Spencer (01:05:16.108)
Mm-hmm

Luciano (01:05:21.549)
Yeah.

Luciano (01:05:25.379)
He got eaten by a goose and then goose can decide what type of role you play when you end up in that Six Flags. Because he's an adult or she's an adult. Oh wow!

Chris (01:05:32.37)
That's right. And then he opened up the casting couch. That's right. Yeah.

Spencer (01:05:36.251)
Guys we just received a cease and desist letter from Six Flags. Hehe

Chris (01:05:43.166)
Uh, that's fine. There's plenty of portals that we can ship the survivors to. Have you thought of the Werther's Factory? Let me tell you, there's a lot of sucking going on in that factory.

Luciano (01:05:48.95)
You can end up in that grave wolf lodge or something else different and Chris is completely off on his back.

Spencer (01:05:57.563)
I'm sorry. Chris just glitched out and the second it just paused for like a minute and it came back and he was just like and he's just sucking. That was the perfect timing. Sorry. I hope everyone heard it the way I heard it because it was gold.

Matt (01:05:58.413)
Um, okay. Hey, um.

Chris (01:05:59.59)
No, it's a joke.

Chris (01:06:09.5)
I'm gonna go.

Luciano (01:06:09.641)
Hahaha, yeah.

Matt (01:06:13.573)
Thanks for explaining what happened to all the people who listened and heard it. That was really helpful for everybody. And we'll find out.

Chris (01:06:13.832)
Yes.

Luciano (01:06:19.839)
Yeah, yeah.

Matt (01:06:24.081)
Do we have other ideas that don't involve Six Flags employees getting their dick sucks?

Chris (01:06:26.782)
Six Flags? When I glitched out, there was the Werther's Factory.

Spencer (01:06:27.961)
of where the- of-

Okay, okay.

Chris (01:06:34.954)
Then, uh, then-

Matt (01:06:34.979)
No, no, no

Spencer (01:06:35.751)
Chris.

I mean...

Um.

Chris (01:06:42.022)
The DMV.

Spencer (01:06:44.063)
I think you got to take the man's advice. Take the man's advice, Chris.

Matt (01:06:44.269)
Chris, you need to take a pause.

Luciano (01:06:46.218)
Yeah.

Chris (01:06:48.018)
good listen I the stoves hot suns

Luciano (01:06:52.822)
D-d-d-dust...

Matt (01:06:53.575)
It's a yes and environment. Let someone else yes and.

Luciano (01:06:58.439)
The stove is hot and your hands getting burned, son. Ha ha ha.

Spencer (01:06:58.57)
Hehehehe...

Let it go, let it go, son. I mean, I think we did see Nick Fury. At what point was he vacationing on this alien spaceship in between movies? Remember he was like on a beach in a holodeck of kind? Yeah, was that before or after he was depressed in? Oh, so that didn't work. Okay. That wasn't it.

Luciano (01:07:16.548)
Yeah.

Matt (01:07:16.983)
Oh, wasn't that a Spider-Man?

Luciano (01:07:20.235)
Yeah.

Before, before.

Matt (01:07:23.247)
before.

Luciano (01:07:26.594)
So maybe what happened is now Nick Fury knows that he's close to retirement, so he's just like winging it. And he's like, I don't have, yeah?

Matt (01:07:26.625)
Yeah. That wasn't it.

Matt (01:07:36.161)
You think Nick Fury is gonna retire? Nick Fury will die before he retires.

Spencer (01:07:39.607)
I think I think he's. I think he started. I think he started getting into Edibles. Because that actually tracks because he seemed high as fuck for this movie.

Luciano (01:07:40.646)
I mean, call it what you want. Hahaha.

Luciano (01:07:50.355)
Oh, that works.

Matt (01:07:50.362)
Okay.

Luciano (01:07:53.659)
Yeah, it does.

Matt (01:07:54.225)
But like, but like that Cree or Skrull, Skrull Edibles, like he got real fucked up. Yeah. Space.

Spencer (01:08:01.46)
This girl's shit will get you fucked son. Speak on space chronic.

Luciano (01:08:03.602)
Yeah. Spacefucked. Yeah.

Matt (01:08:09.382)
Yeah.

Spencer (01:08:11.571)
It's like regular weed but it's from space so it gets you higher.

Luciano (01:08:13.638)
It gets you really high, high up in space. Yeah. Oh, nice. I like that. Yeah.

Matt (01:08:13.837)
Yeah. Extremely. Yeah. Okay. I think, thank you, Chris. That was a good, that was a good place to step back in.

Chris (01:08:15.651)
Mmm. You get cosmic.

Spencer (01:08:20.403)
Yeah. Cosmic chronic. Yep.

Matt (01:08:24.945)
Spencer, that's enough, that's good.

Luciano (01:08:25.645)
she said cockedly.

Spencer (01:08:29.359)
But also, but I'm just saying that scene, that scene when they're going down and he's like, are you praying? And the guy's like, was praying in like Arabic and he's like, don't stop. We need all the help we can get. Like he seems so high there. He's like, you said, you said, he said, coquently.

Chris (01:08:32.157)
Hehe

Matt (01:08:32.388)
Hahahaha

Luciano (01:08:33.775)
No!

Luciano (01:08:41.748)
He stops, yeah.

Chris (01:08:45.706)
Yeah, yeah, yeah. That was great.

Luciano (01:08:46.002)
Yeah. Amen. Yeah. That's what I said. That's what I meant that I liked. Like, like all of the, I thought it was super fun. I'm just saying it.

Matt (01:08:48.03)
Yeah

Matt (01:08:52.441)
He's like, for sure.

Chris (01:08:52.863)
Yes!

Chris (01:08:57.123)
Mm-hmm.

Spencer (01:08:57.275)
I thought it was fun, but it just seemed like totally out of character for Nick Fury. Like, he never panics. Like, he's like fucking Mr. Cool. Like for the first Avengers movies, he's like fucking James Bond. But then he got into the cosmic chronic.

Luciano (01:09:00.006)
Out of character? Okay, yeah.

Chris (01:09:01.241)
Agreed, agreed.

Luciano (01:09:10.634)
The edibles, yeah. He's smoking that Skrill hash and now this is what's happening. Ha ha ha.

Chris (01:09:13.574)
opened up his third eye.

Spencer (01:09:14.543)
He's- he- yeah. That's- that's Skrull Hash. He's doing all the- all the different alien drugs. He's got the Skrull Hash, he's got the- the Kree Chronic, he's got the fuckin'... ..fuckin' Wookie Cocaine. I don't know. I couldn't think of another alien from the fuckin'... ..the Asgard. Hehehehe.

Matt (01:09:21.834)
Ha ha ha.

Luciano (01:09:24.15)
Hahaha!

Matt (01:09:25.233)
Yeah.

Luciano (01:09:29.962)
Wookie! Actually, actually Do you guys notice how much the uniforms of those the people on that space station made them look like Imperial officers or like stormtroopers or whatever? like I

Chris (01:09:33.169)
NNNN

Chris (01:09:44.262)
A little, a little. But when you...

Spencer (01:09:46.727)
He's got the Asgardian meth. Sorry, I just remembered another alien race. They go hard in Asgard. They go hard. Just straight up meth. No play on words. We just like meth.

Matt (01:09:49.314)
Hahaha!

Luciano (01:09:51.502)
Math, math.

Chris (01:09:52.934)
More Asgard! Arrr

Matt (01:09:57.309)
I appreciate the Asgardians don't even try to literate. It's just math.

Matt (01:10:04.593)
it

Luciano (01:10:04.794)
Hahaha

Chris (01:10:06.917)
Uh, uh, uh. Yeah. We live for thousands of years. We're not, it's, might as well, might as well.

Luciano (01:10:10.482)
And we get high! Our teeth fall off. Ha ha ha!

Spencer (01:10:13.919)
Let's go get on the ride.

Matt (01:10:14.073)
Myth.

Chris (01:10:16.742)
You know, you know.

Luciano (01:10:18.223)
Do you know how you make them make that rainbow bridge? Now you do.

Spencer (01:10:22.658)
It's made of meth.

Chris (01:10:22.905)
Mmmm

Luciano (01:10:24.018)
It's made of meth. Ha ha ha.

Matt (01:10:26.021)
Sooo

Spencer (01:10:27.975)
You wanna take a ride on the rainbow bridge, kid? Hey kid, you wanna ride the rainbow bridge? Sorry.

Chris (01:10:31.142)
Yeah!

Luciano (01:10:34.414)
Yeah. Be careful, your teeth will fall off.

Matt (01:10:35.633)
Spencer since... Spencer since we're all talking about drugs This is probably the best time to ask How do the space holes work?

Spencer (01:10:40.441)
Yes.

Chris (01:10:43.932)
Mmm

Spencer (01:10:44.131)
BASELS!

Matt (01:10:45.357)
Yeah, so like, uh, D'Artban is using the, uh, jump points, I guess.

Chris (01:10:51.594)
Quantum bands. Oh, nevermind, you're right.

Luciano (01:10:51.936)
Universal weapon to open jump point?

Matt (01:10:54.989)
So the jump points, she like is fracturing the jump points or something. I don't know how that works, but she's fracturing holes in the space to send shit back to Hala. Yeah, the hexagon holes. Because they all fit together and you can make a perfect grid.

Spencer (01:11:03.319)
Yeah, they're like hexagons. I wonder why they're hexagons.

Luciano (01:11:05.303)
Yeah.

Spencer (01:11:11.279)
So do you think space is like made up by someone?

Luciano (01:11:12.846)
because the universe is a honeycomb

Matt (01:11:15.905)
Well, as they explained, allegedly the rumors are that the bangles were the weapon, not weapon, tool to create, sure, quantum mumbo jumbo meths. Quantum meth, I think is what they used.

Luciano (01:11:23.546)
They use them. Quantum whatever their names. Yeah. Because obviously it's quantum. It has to be quantum. To write this movie, you're right. They use quantum math to write this movie. You're right.

Spencer (01:11:35.273)
You wanna ride the rainbow bridge kiddo?

Matt (01:11:37.937)
Yeah But like how do those things work because they don't explain it at all like obviously you Your ship can jump from point to point using them But you know Monica Rambeau touches one at one point and that's the thing that sets off all their powers being intertwined But it's fractured, but the earth one wasn't all purple. It was just kind of off Or like shaky blue. So I want to know how these all work because they don't cover it

Spencer (01:11:40.618)
Eh.

Spencer (01:12:00.163)
Yeah.

Are they different colors, the portals? I didn't notice that.

Luciano (01:12:05.467)
Only the Earth one.

Matt (01:12:05.593)
Well the purple ones, because she's, we have to signify that she's doing it, and since the universal weapon is purple, therefore the bangles are purple. That's the only reason that I can see.

Spencer (01:12:15.183)
Yeah, I wonder if there's a tie into WandaVision, because the Agatha lady was all purple. And remember her thing was the hex? It was a hexagon. Everything was hexagonal there. Sorry. It was a badger.

Chris (01:12:24.179)
Mm-hmm.

Matt (01:12:24.341)
Yeah. Hey, I didn't come here for your real answers. Try again.

Luciano (01:12:28.827)
I thought I honestly thought I honestly thought you're gonna say it's a tie. It's a tie into Avatar 2 and the space vaginas. I thought you were gonna say that.

Matt (01:12:32.647)
Space Badger!

Chris (01:12:39.186)
Hmm.

Matt (01:12:39.543)
Space Vaginas are from, not from Avatar 2, that's Rebel Moon.

Spencer (01:12:40.707)
Rebel moon, sir? Rebel moon, sir.

Luciano (01:12:43.427)
Oh, same thing, same thing. Let's be honest.

Matt (01:12:45.597)
No, one movie was passable and one was an abomination.

Spencer (01:12:47.107)
You've seen one space-vagentius in them all.

Luciano (01:12:51.162)
Is it? Is it there? Oh yeah, you're right. It is there. Is the space vagina is... yeah, yeah. We're... yeah, yeah.

Matt (01:12:53.777)
Binggiding the movie. There's like here's the space vagina. We're never gonna talk about it again

Spencer (01:12:57.379)
We're never gonna address it. Just get you all horned up.

Matt (01:13:00.121)
But back to the space holes in this movie. First, the only answer we have so far space badgers. Do we have anything else?

Chris (01:13:02.804)
Mm-hmm.

Luciano (01:13:09.044)
Space badgers eat like they eat the Asgardian math and they shit jump holes. That's what happens.

Spencer (01:13:10.893)
Hehe

Matt (01:13:13.745)
Uh huh.

Spencer (01:13:15.648)
That sounds like a Stephen King explanation, you know?

Chris (01:13:16.126)
Based on.

Luciano (01:13:18.711)
Hahaha!

Matt (01:13:22.245)
Cokedly, if we're talking about Stevie King.

Chris (01:13:22.374)
Based on... Co-git me.

Luciano (01:13:22.485)
Um...

Spencer (01:13:23.392)
Definitely he said he wrote coquedly. No, I mean, are you saying how they work in the sense like in the movie, like Luciano touched on how they don't.

Luciano (01:13:26.21)
He wrote Coquitly, yeah.

Matt (01:13:31.661)
Hey man, I just asked the question, how do the space holes work? I'm not giving any more context. It's your job to fill in the blanks.

Spencer (01:13:35.307)
Okay, okay, well, there's one though. The question firstly, it's like Luciano touched on was how they work in terms of like, how they suck up things, like they randomly suck up air in one place, water in another, sun spots or whatever. Sun flares. Yeah, sun soft serve, that's correct. It's true, don't get me started on the soft serve.

Luciano (01:13:52.511)
Sun...

Chris (01:13:55.413)
Sun soft serve.

Matt (01:13:58.196)
It's too soft!

Luciano (01:14:00.322)
Hahaha!

Spencer (01:14:03.291)
So in that sense, it doesn't make sense how they work because they, like it's almost like they can target things.

Luciano (01:14:10.09)
Yeah, they're purpose made holes.

Matt (01:14:13.489)
Spencer, can you say that with more answer authority and not more question authority? Thank you. Wow, what a great answer.

Spencer (01:14:17.531)
They are targets.

period.

Luciano (01:14:22.775)
Was it? Was it a great answer? It was an answer!

Spencer (01:14:27.183)
Yeah, I rest my case.

Matt (01:14:27.529)
I said what I said. Who else would like to take a crack at this question? Yes and.

Chris (01:14:29.324)
Yeah

Luciano (01:14:31.323)
So space badgers make targets. This is where we landed.

Matt (01:14:37.891)
Mm-hmm. Uh, or something about meth? I didn't really listen to Spencer.

Luciano (01:14:40.976)
Hahaha!

Spencer (01:14:42.465)
Nobody should, nobody does.

Chris (01:14:45.01)
You've got to cook a lot of meth to facilitate a space hole. Okay. And so since Hala is, it's on its death throes, right? In order to facilitate enough space meth, you've got to use to the detriment, you've got to mine what little is left of dying Hala in order to facilitate a planetary, interplanetary event. So you've got to grind and cook that meth. And instead of smoking it,

Matt (01:14:54.555)
Mm-hmm.

Chris (01:15:14.656)
They've got to make it evaporate and target. That's how they target that shit.

Spencer (01:15:17.935)
So you're saying like the way that like pollution creates a hole in our ozone layer, cooking that much meth on such a large scale creates a hole in space time, which can then be weaponized with the use of the meth bangle.

Chris (01:15:22.826)
Yes!

Chris (01:15:29.278)
Yes.

Chris (01:15:34.686)
Cosmos likes to get wet, bro.

Matt (01:15:36.613)
So Chris, just so I understand, when they said the bangles created the travel points, really was it like a one person just cooking up meth or like a crew?

Luciano (01:15:37.157)
Bangle.

Spencer (01:15:50.671)
Bangles is a pipe.

Luciano (01:15:51.61)
The Bangos was a whole band, yeah.

Matt (01:15:54.561)
Okay, you're a monster. And you yield you yield your time for that answer.

Spencer (01:15:59.102)
Yeah.

Chris (01:15:59.471)
Yeah, we're talking new we're talking plant we're talking nuclear sized power plant production level of interplanet of like, HALA interplanetary meth, like that's how much they have to cook. And that's how much pollution well like similar to that's how much exhaust channel exhaust they have to produce in order to open a space hole.

Matt (01:16:21.669)
This is as good a time as any to ask this follow-up question. Um, it's a lot about the space holes. We're done with that one to be frank. Don't, don't talk about that anymore. But I'm using a, uh, an old technique called a segue to ask the next question. And what I want to know is.

Spencer (01:16:29.351)
Thank God.

Chris (01:16:30.55)
Oh, for a second, I was like, follow-up question, okay.

Luciano (01:16:30.763)
Yeah

Chris (01:16:36.468)
Mmm!

Luciano (01:16:43.07)
Everybody knows a good segue is the one you announce.

Matt (01:16:46.945)
Right? The singing planet.

Spencer (01:16:48.503)
What's the question sir? Yes.

Chris (01:16:48.883)
He said coquettly.

Matt (01:16:52.945)
How does that whole thing work? Because they sing, but they also dance a lot. And the dancing, if I understand correctly, has nothing to do with talking. Because talking is, they're singing as talking. That's what they tell us. But they dance a bunch. And then they also like make humming noises or whatever to alert ships coming, which is, I guess, is it singing? Is it not singing? Would rapping be another language that's

Chris (01:16:58.41)
Yeah.

Luciano (01:17:04.37)
Yeah. Right.

Chris (01:17:16.95)
Hmm.

Luciano (01:17:20.338)
No. No, because rapping isn't singing.

Chris (01:17:21.702)
Why not? What? Yes it is. But, what the fuck?

Matt (01:17:22.757)
that's not... Right, so, no no, hear me out. So if singing is a language and rapping isn't singing, then rapping is its own language, so is there a rapping planet somewhere?

Luciano (01:17:26.818)
No, no, it's not.

Spencer (01:17:26.828)
Oh yeah?

Luciano (01:17:32.458)
Right. Yeah, of course. Yeah, there is a wrapping planet somewhere.

Spencer (01:17:35.047)
Crimes High.

Chris (01:17:36.97)
I disagree. It's different languages on the same planet. This is planet Earth, different dialects, thank you. This is planet Earth and we have different languages and those languages have different dialects. So in that region, or I guess we're talking logistics, rapping, beatboxing, humming, breakdance fighting, all acceptable means of communication. They've got to be.

Matt (01:17:37.742)
Show your work.

Spencer (01:17:41.563)
different dialects.

Matt (01:18:00.925)
No, no, breakdance fighting!

Spencer (01:18:01.273)
Is there?

Luciano (01:18:01.283)
How is, well one of the, wait, one of these things isn't like the other. Ha ha ha.

Spencer (01:18:05.175)
Is there, is there, there's no, actually, let me ask you. Is there...

Matt (01:18:05.333)
Yeah, breakdance fighting, there's no, nothing with your mouth is happening.

Luciano (01:18:09.434)
That was a leap from rapping to beatboxing to break dance fighting.

Matt (01:18:13.529)
Hahaha!

Chris (01:18:15.218)
SILENCE!

Spencer (01:18:16.61)
Is there a Smash Mouth dialect? SOMEBODY RUNNED!

Chris (01:18:20.234)
Somebody... .. Yes, that would work. I think that would work.

Luciano (01:18:21.329)
Yeah

Matt (01:18:21.637)
Ha ha ha.

Matt (01:18:26.913)
You know, Spencer, you know how we have like, um, Franklish in Canada?

Luciano (01:18:30.34)
Smash Mouth thinking is the cockney of that planet.

Matt (01:18:33.533)
Yeah, or like I was gonna say Fringlish, right? Where it's like French and English combined. Smash Mouth is like the combination of spoken and singing. Yeah.

Luciano (01:18:36.408)
Or free English.

Spencer (01:18:37.203)
Yeah.

Luciano (01:18:42.606)
Yeah, I see.

Chris (01:18:42.81)
It literally, it's in the name.

Spencer (01:18:44.823)
I hear that but also WHEN THE BITCH STOP COMIN' AND THE DOOR STOP COMIN' I'M FACTING THE WORLD AND I HIT THE GROUND RUNNING

Chris (01:18:49.313)
Ha ha!

So then would 90s grunge, is it grunge? Grunge rock with like your Eddie veteran program.

Matt (01:19:00.493)
You say that like you didn't grow up through it, so I don't know. The grunge, is that what the kids called it?

Spencer (01:19:02.159)
Yeah, yeah, grunt is a grunge that The oh the grunge area is very dirty. It's a dirty part of the planet's very poor it's a

Luciano (01:19:02.513)
Yeah.

Chris (01:19:04.986)
Is it grunge? Is it? Is it? No, I was a child, I was, I was a child.

Matt (01:19:11.745)
Yeah, grunge. What about it? I mean, it's all singing. I don't know if...

Chris (01:19:13.01)
Yeah.

Luciano (01:19:15.642)
Everybody well everybody's in flannel shirts first of all so it's kind of cold

Chris (01:19:18.002)
Have a

Luciano (01:19:24.478)
Not, not sadly poor, but like dingy.

Matt (01:19:24.676)
Um.

Matt (01:19:28.513)
So, danger, that's fair. I have a reverse question to ask here.

Chris (01:19:30.558)
Interesting.

Luciano (01:19:32.192)
Reverse question, sir. Have an answer?

Chris (01:19:34.838)
HAHA

Spencer (01:19:36.859)
Got him!

Chris (01:19:39.534)
He said coca leaf he barked he was Luciano was bossing Luciano was bossing he came out with the haymaker To the solar plexus clotheslines that was

Matt (01:19:39.773)
You know what? I yield my time. You've defeated me.

Spencer (01:19:49.809)
He came up with a 1-2 to the face!

Matt (01:19:55.894)
I came around the corner and just Superman punched me and fucking knocked me out.

Spencer (01:19:57.415)
Hehehe

Luciano (01:19:59.502)
That's okay, if you're a dark band, all that happens is you stand up again.

Matt (01:20:02.769)
That's fair. I am gonna dark bend this so and on the musical planet if Singing is talking You know how on earth? Well, I want to know like on earth we have we listen to music as a as a form relaxation So if singing is talking, what is the replacement to relax them? our fuckass Just there's You know

Chris (01:20:03.056)
Nooo

Luciano (01:20:10.35)
Just talking and singing.

Luciano (01:20:14.922)
Right. Oh no, I know where this is going. Podcasts. Yeah. Oh, just ours? That's just the one. Okay.

Spencer (01:20:21.848)
our podcast, just ours. Our podcast is classical music in the.

Luciano (01:20:29.942)
Ha ha ha!

Matt (01:20:30.342)
If our podcast is the thing they relax to, Darben was right and I support her actions.

Spencer (01:20:34.926)
Hehehehe, yeah.

Luciano (01:20:35.035)
Yeah, yeah, it's fair.

Chris (01:20:37.13)
Because in one timeline, our podcast never ends. And we are sustained.

Spencer (01:20:40.631)
Oh, it's called this episode.

Luciano (01:20:40.918)
That's true.

Yeah.

Chris (01:20:46.063)
I'm not trying to, I'm not shading. I'm saying like in that timeline, it never ends. We have a fight, we get financial gain from that ongoing never ending podcast. We have food tubes going into our bodies.

Luciano (01:20:47.85)
No, I think they're...

Spencer (01:20:55.323)
Hehehe

Spencer (01:20:59.479)
Intel Spencer shirts are sold worldwide.

Matt (01:20:59.617)
Yeah... Well...

Luciano (01:21:00.01)
Why? He said coquettly again. I was gonna say that what they listen to is slam poetry. That's their like heavy metal or something.

Matt (01:21:04.557)
Blur.

Matt (01:21:08.855)
That's... that's...

Chris (01:21:11.675)
Mmm.

Luciano (01:21:12.754)
Or punk rock, it's more like punk rock, I think.

Matt (01:21:12.905)
Is that not singing? Is that not singing?

Spencer (01:21:15.747)
Music may be the language of the land, but talking is the language of the soul.

Chris (01:21:18.64)
Ugh!

Luciano (01:21:21.222)
Yeah, nice.

Chris (01:21:21.694)
HUH!

Matt (01:21:21.749)
Hey, hey, Lin-Manuel Spencer. No, thank you.

Chris (01:21:27.228)
That's...

Spencer (01:21:27.803)
I'm not throwing away my shot. I'm just like my country. I'm just crabby and hungry and I'm not throwing away my shot. Sorry.

Chris (01:21:30.921)
Heh.

Matt (01:21:31.067)
I'm sorry.

Chris (01:21:34.718)
E4892, Westland to Vitchip!

Spencer (01:21:38.063)
Hehehe

Luciano (01:21:39.069)
In a latin that's just a regular play.

Chris (01:21:41.277)
It's

Spencer (01:21:41.699)
I'm gonna get myself some Asgardian meth! God is spoken! Sorry.

Chris (01:21:47.594)
I'm gonna leave the toilet seat down. Don't you tell me to both of you are in my place round. Well.

Matt (01:21:47.783)
Uhhh

Matt (01:21:51.63)
Next question.

Luciano (01:21:52.695)
Hahaha!

Matt (01:21:55.257)
The Kree, apparently the Kree got into a little bit of a civil war when the AI was destroyed. Oopsies. What were they fighting about? I understand that the AI wasn't there to direct them. What were the things they were fighting about that caused them to... You get out of here! Now you get...

Spencer (01:22:00.937)
Oops.

Spencer (01:22:13.511)
stolen elections. Sorry. January 6th with an inside job. Sorry.

Luciano (01:22:15.714)
Oh no. Back! Geet!

Chris (01:22:16.292)
Hahaha! That's totally...

Chris (01:22:20.918)
RET NET LECK-NE, RET NET LECK-NE!

Matt (01:22:25.281)
GET OUTTA HERE! Um, yeah, what were they fighting about? And how did it destroy the entire planet?

Luciano (01:22:25.486)
Hahaha.

Luciano (01:22:30.347)
Hmm

Spencer (01:22:32.527)
So let's just set up this a little bit because the Kree planet was a fully functioning society with the AI was alive or whatever, operational.

Matt (01:22:36.43)
Alright.

Matt (01:22:43.321)
Yeah, it was like, I think they said at one point the Cree race had populated 20% of the known, 25% of the known galaxy. Yeah. It's the capital.

Luciano (01:22:50.102)
25%, 25% of the galaxy, yeah, yeah.

Spencer (01:22:52.879)
Wait, so why do they need this one planet then?

Luciano (01:22:57.001)
Yeah, it's the home planet.

Spencer (01:22:57.091)
Whatever, go to one of your fucking 25% of the galaxy, you got a thousand planets. Sorry, sorry.

Matt (01:22:59.769)
Hey man, hey, focus. That's not what we're talking about. I wanna know what they were fighting about. Because they had 25% of other planets.

Luciano (01:23:05.259)
How did Hala... Yeah, how did Hala get fucked is the question.

Spencer (01:23:07.611)
So, well, if the AI would doubt, I assume it took down the WiFi.

Luciano (01:23:13.638)
Oh, okay, there, explained, explained. Yeah. No internet, civil war, 100%.

Chris (01:23:14.247)
Mmmm

Spencer (01:23:14.519)
And that's it. Yeah. No internet. Nobody could watch their tick talks.

Matt (01:23:20.149)
No, no, but so they were fighting over boredom? Like, I understand the Wi-Fi is gone. But what was the goal? No more Wi-Fi. If I win the Civil War, what am I winning?

Chris (01:23:20.511)
I can't.

Luciano (01:23:27.277)
Yeah.

Chris (01:23:29.308)
Mm-hmm.

Luciano (01:23:36.087)
The internet.

Matt (01:23:38.154)
It's gone. The AI is gone.

Spencer (01:23:39.571)
No, no, they don't know that they think both sides think the other side has the internet and if they win the war they They win the internet

Luciano (01:23:41.668)
Yeah.

Yeah, we're stealing the internet from you. And it's that little black box from IT Crowd, they show. Yeah.

Chris (01:23:48.298)
the internet, the other.

Chris (01:23:52.73)
Yes, yeah. The other side, they've got the blank, they've got the internet, I saw the box, I saw it! I told you, I seen tit!

Spencer (01:23:59.496)
I saw it! That is to say I've seen it!

Luciano (01:24:01.083)
Why? Is this from the south of Holland? That's what's happening here?

Spencer (01:24:06.719)
It's a southern region.

Matt (01:24:06.937)
So it's the south of Halle versus the north of Halle, which is the English accents.

Luciano (01:24:09.886)
Yeah.

Spencer (01:24:10.067)
Yeah. By, by God, I think they might have the internet over there. I think they have the internet down south.

Chris (01:24:12.643)
Yes. No s- Somehow they've managed to procure it.

Luciano (01:24:16.662)
Is that where Tessa Thompson's English accent comes from? The north of Holland? I know.

Chris (01:24:21.682)
Well, she's not, she's Asgardian.

Spencer (01:24:23.404)
I saw a man from the south side of Hala and he was looking at a gram on the insta, I tell you, and I don't believe he could do that unless he had the internet, so I do believe we must massacre their children and eat their flesh, because therefore we will inhale the internet into our bones.

Luciano (01:24:27.382)
had a black box?

Chris (01:24:31.332)
Mm, uh.

Luciano (01:24:32.083)
A gram on the Insta.

Chris (01:24:34.202)
A grand.

Luciano (01:24:36.098)
The in-

Luciano (01:24:40.205)
Hahahaha!

Chris (01:24:41.285)
Uh... Hehehehe

Luciano (01:24:43.462)
In hap- Holy- Oh, holy sh-

Chris (01:24:46.938)
Can you imagine?

Matt (01:24:48.941)
And sorry, that was a creestogram he was talking about.

Spencer (01:24:51.663)
He was on creestagram. I saw creestagram. He was looking at a big titted woman. How else? How dare you? How dare you? I'm Michael Caine. And I believe that we need this planet to have internet.

Luciano (01:24:51.918)
Crystagram? Crystagram.

Matt (01:24:57.433)
Why?

Luciano (01:24:59.035)
Like, Spencer, you are on a roll. Why do you continue doing the accent? You know your accent morphs. You're gonna end up at Michael Caine again.

Matt (01:25:10.001)
Hehehehe

Chris (01:25:11.998)
Hmm. Hehehehehe.

Luciano (01:25:15.362)
I believe they have the internet.

Spencer (01:25:18.223)
And I've got a question for you. Did you see that sexy girl on Instagram? Because I don't have access.

Matt (01:25:20.561)
Oh god.

Luciano (01:25:25.826)
See, it gets, I've never seen an accent run away from a person.

Matt (01:25:30.657)
When I just want to know when golem showing up. That's all. That's all I'm waiting for

Chris (01:25:32.108)
Yeah.

Spencer (01:25:33.763)
W- Heh. W- Heh.

Luciano (01:25:35.028)
Hahaha!

Chris (01:25:37.502)
Hold on, Kane, Kane.

Luciano (01:25:39.853)
Let the man cook.

Spencer (01:25:43.071)
Michael Cain, my name is Mike cocaine Yeah

Chris (01:25:43.73)
Yeah, there you go. Yes.

Luciano (01:25:46.39)
He has to reset. He has to reset with that so he can keep going. Every sentence you have to say that and then you can continue. Yeah.

Matt (01:25:48.025)
He does, he does.

Chris (01:25:53.522)
You start and you finish with your day.

Spencer (01:25:56.44)
it's Michael Caine I want I want that Cree internet Mike I'm Michael Caine and Zine I I'm Michael Caine says Michael Caine no I lost it

Matt (01:25:57.651)
hahahaha

Luciano (01:26:01.654)
There you go. That was perfect. That was perfect.

Matt (01:26:04.183)
Perfect. Flawless. Flawless execution. Let's... Hey.

Don't, no, you've got it, you nailed it. Don't, don't, it's gone, let's go. Let's, let's, there it is. Let's review this movie. We place all the movies we watch on S tier scale, S is the top, F is the bottom. Have you ever given out S's?

Luciano (01:26:12.426)
No, he ran away from you again!

Luciano (01:26:22.549)
Uhhh

Spencer (01:26:35.192)
Never given an S.

Luciano (01:26:35.218)
Yeah, I have. You and I have. Well, all three of us have except D&D.

Chris (01:26:37.297)
I have.

Spencer (01:26:38.449)
What'd you give an S to?

Matt (01:26:38.461)
Yeah, Dungeons and Dragons.

Spencer (01:26:42.888)
I've never given an S.

Luciano (01:26:44.102)
No, you haven't. Because you hate fun, as it has been established.

Matt (01:26:45.701)
Hey Chris has. Yeah, you do have fun.

Spencer (01:26:48.023)
No, I just, S should be like fucking really good.

Matt (01:26:51.681)
If no movies are ass, then your scale is fucked and you're only using A to F.

Chris (01:26:51.814)
Maybe you should live a little.

Spencer (01:26:54.603)
No, Godfather Part 2 is S. I know, when we do.

Chris (01:26:57.926)
We didn't watch that movie.

Matt (01:26:59.481)
That doesn't exist to us. We let you pick movies and you pick horrible ones. Why don't you pick a good one? Why don't you pick a movie you like?

Luciano (01:26:59.887)
Yeah. When we do. Yeah.

Spencer (01:27:04.227)
I pick, I owe, all right guys, we're reviewing Godfather part two. No, no, that's it, I am.

Matt (01:27:11.109)
No, we're not watching that. That's stupid. You're dumb for suggesting it. But anyways, let me hear your review of this movie.

Spencer (01:27:16.859)
Who? Pourquoi?

Matt (01:27:19.404)
Poor Spencer.

Spencer (01:27:20.627)
Um, this movie, well this movie is not gonna get an S, I'll tell you that much. This movie was, this movie, yeah, the plot was like paper thin, and I just, when it was over I was like, that's it? And that's my review. I give it a D. Like that's it, yeah.

Luciano (01:27:21.582)
That's not how French works.

Chris (01:27:22.302)
Hehehe

Luciano (01:27:28.138)
What?

Luciano (01:27:41.757)
Oh wow!

Chris (01:27:43.388)
In and out!

In and out. He's not staying the night. He's like, I gotta go. Put it in the pants, back on.

Matt (01:27:47.125)
Ha ha

Luciano (01:27:50.754)
I have places to go and yeah. Um, I...

Spencer (01:27:53.949)
I got his guardian meth to smoke, okay?

Matt (01:27:54.462)
Listen, can you balance?

Luciano (01:27:57.394)
I will try. So I like Marvel movies now are so formulaic to the point where, you know, kind of the beats and like Spencer said, I agree. The plot here is paper thin. I was, I don't know if you guys were, but I was very thrown off by the CG was very poor at points, like especially when they were animating Captain Marvel doing the Captain Marvel stuff, like punching and kicking and they look all rubbery and she'd like looked like a PS2 game.

Um, the like, the acting was decent as it usually is. Good even, not just decent. What? Go ahead.

Spencer (01:28:33.391)
No, we didn't even talk, sorry. We didn't even talk about fucking Alison Breeze acting.

Luciano (01:28:38.974)
Oh, but because it wasn't there. Um, yeah, she didn't act that we, how can we talk about something? How, how can we talk about something that never happened? So

Matt (01:28:41.27)
She did not appear in this movie so that's why we didn't talk about her. No no no.

Chris (01:28:41.886)
HUP

Spencer (01:28:42.978)
Sorry, can I just add that to my review?

Spencer (01:28:47.983)
No, asterix, Alison Brie, I don't understand how she's the lead character actor in a movie. It's like she's reading off paper. The paper she reads off is thicker than the paper thin plot of this film. But that...

Matt (01:28:55.397)
Hey, hey Spencer? Spencer, I need you to stop. Alison Pree was not in this fucking movie.

Luciano (01:28:58.498)
No-

Luciano (01:29:03.022)
Yeah, yeah, it was Brie Larson, but close enough. Alison Brie is actually an excellent actress. Yeah. This is like, this is like Matt saying this is a like Kamala Khan vehicle in the beginning.

Chris (01:29:03.434)
Hehehehe

Spencer (01:29:04.416)
Sorry, I didn't even realize. Alison Brie, I apologize. I like you. You're a good actress. Please forgive me. I'm a big fan. I've just ruined...

Spencer (01:29:21.607)
I Take everything I wouldn't even let Matt correct me. I kept on talking over him. I thought he was cutting me off Allison Brea, I apologize Brie Larson in this movie is like she doesn't give a fuck. I know she can act She was like in that movie the room or just room. It was like an Oscar-winning movie and she's been in stuff where she can act She's gonna stop bro in this movie. She seems like she's bored out of her fucking mind. I don't understand it this has gotta be just a paycheck for I

Chris (01:29:21.874)
Mmmh hmm

Matt (01:29:23.009)
I'm sorry.

Luciano (01:29:25.518)
I'm sorry.

Luciano (01:29:38.146)
She was on Scott Pilgrim. She did a really good job there, even in the small camera. Yeah.

Luciano (01:29:45.826)
because she probably is.

Matt (01:29:49.173)
Hey, hey Spencer? Let it go, bro.

Spencer (01:29:50.231)
Sorry.

Luciano (01:29:54.043)
Anyway, as I was saying in my review, thank you very much. Yeah, other than Alison Brie, I mean Brie Larson, everybody was fine. But it was like, it's not that it wasn't fun, but it was kind of meh. It was like a glass of warm water with toasted no butter. So definition of a C to me, this one.

Spencer (01:29:54.776)
I can't.

Chris (01:29:57.098)
Yeah.

Chris (01:30:02.346)
Uh uh uh.

Matt (01:30:03.089)
Whoever.

Spencer (01:30:03.699)
Too soon.

Luciano (01:30:22.259)
would not watch it again, didn't hate watching it, but it's like a non-movie. That's what I have to say.

Matt (01:30:31.121)
Great. Spencer, do you have anything else to add?

Spencer (01:30:34.199)
Yeah, this movie is... This movie is so forgettable that I had trouble recalling it for this podcast. Hahahaha! Guilty as charged.

Chris (01:30:36.531)
HAHA

Luciano (01:30:37.861)
Why would you do this? You know he would say yes.

Matt (01:30:40.193)
Let it go, bro!

Matt (01:30:45.657)
I'm just gonna bleep that out. Chris.

Luciano (01:30:47.081)
That's because you didn't watch it, as usual.

Matt (01:30:49.866)
As usual, Chris, what do you got?

Chris (01:30:53.358)
So, saw this movie in the theater with Matt. Honestly, had fun. Like, it's fun and there are good aspects to it. I agree with, careful, anchor to the correct actress. I agree with the Brie Larson points, I agree. Fairly wooden, fairly wooden, like so wooden, you'd be an ant.

Matt (01:31:07.048)
Easy.

Spencer (01:31:18.463)
Oh-ho-ho!

Luciano (01:31:19.738)
Nice, nicely done. I approve of this.

Chris (01:31:21.454)
Eh, I try. Sometimes I steer away from the Cokedly aspect. So yeah, again, I enjoyed a lot of the movie, but based on our entire time reviewing it here, the rating boils down to a C for me as well. It wasn't even close to being a B. Like, I wanted it to do really well.

Spencer (01:31:46.647)
It's close. I bet you it's closer to a D than a than a C is to a B.

Luciano (01:31:48.325)
Yeah, yeah, yeah it is, it is, yeah.

Chris (01:31:51.378)
So, but we don't do decimals. So yeah, it's a C. C.5. So C for me, I didn't rewatch the movie, like due to real life. I wanted to, but it didn't, this is the only time that's happened where I just let it go, bro, and didn't do that. So I'm not gonna lose sleep over that. Should you watch it? Watch it one time, have a drink, have a Coke.

Spencer (01:31:54.183)
Just give it a D, you know when your heart is right. Ha ha ha!

Luciano (01:31:54.542)
C.5, C.5. Hahahaha.

Chris (01:32:20.43)
sniff and a smile and put your feet up. Watch it coquedly, get some celestial, some less celestial chronic and just let go and let it wash over you and then enjoy the stinger at the end with Beast and the alternate photon spectrum.

Spencer (01:32:22.867)
Watch it coquently.

Luciano (01:32:24.485)
Yeah, watch it, watch it coquettly. There you go. That's the way.

Spencer (01:32:37.6)
That fucking whack.

Luciano (01:32:39.378)
Oh, we didn't even talk about this thing. Yeah. Fair. Okay. Since when do we do that?

Chris (01:32:41.594)
It was great. I'm glad Kelsey Grammer was still Beast, but anyways.

Matt (01:32:44.117)
It didn't happen in the movie, we're not talking about it.

Spencer (01:32:47.151)
What the fuck? Yeah.

Matt (01:32:49.753)
You know what? If you wanted to talk about it, you should have brought it up fucking through the last half an hour and a half we talked about. No, we're done. We're fucking reviewing. You gotta learn how to pace your time. I'm not giving it an A.D. I... No. I'm giving it a C because I... the movie wasn't bad. It was... there were parts where it was really fun. And if they had given Alison Larson better acting...

Spencer (01:32:53.514)
I tried!

Alright, give it a D, Matt. Give it a D. Yeah, do it. Do it. Awww.

Luciano (01:33:04.066)
Do it!

Chris (01:33:05.298)
DO IT!

Spencer (01:33:10.407)
Cowards.

Luciano (01:33:17.57)
Ha ha!

Spencer (01:33:18.696)
Hahaha, Allison Larson!

Chris (01:33:18.75)
Nooo

Matt (01:33:19.713)
acting directions. Alison, bring me Alison. Better direction. She's not, I just, I gotta believe that they gave her bad direction or they wanted her to be the straight woman so that Kamala and Monica could cook a bit more. But it just made her boring. They could have all been, because she was better in the first movie even. She had more, more like, no, but she had more witty quips and stuff going on. So anyway, so, but overall the movie was like,

Luciano (01:33:20.206)
Brie Brie.

Chris (01:33:23.774)
Yes.

Chris (01:33:31.928)
Mm.

Luciano (01:33:36.5)
Boring.

Spencer (01:33:40.745)
She wasn't great in that either though.

Luciano (01:33:41.59)
Not by much, yeah.

Matt (01:33:49.389)
Like, the scenes were fine, the main story plot was okay, the secondary story plots could have not existed. So as you see, I watched it, you know, maybe it's because Chris and I went to the theater and we had a good time, but you know, it was fine. Would I watch it again? No, I mean, I watched... Yeah, you told us to go fuck ourselves, I'm pretty sure. That's what you said to me directly.

Luciano (01:33:56.546)
Hahaha.

Spencer (01:34:04.807)
Was I invited to that, by the way, the movie?

Chris (01:34:07.454)
You were.

Spencer (01:34:09.687)
What, I don't recall this.

Spencer (01:34:14.499)
Oh, I think you said, oh, we're going to the movies, you wanna come? I said, fuck yeah, let's go. You said we're seeing the Marvels. I said, fuck you, I'm out.

Chris (01:34:15.152)
Ow!

Matt (01:34:22.117)
That sounds like... Hey! Hey, Incel Spencer, you get on out of here! You get...

Luciano (01:34:23.153)
That tracks.

Chris (01:34:23.562)
That's what he said!

Spencer (01:34:26.877)
I'm sorry!

Chris (01:34:28.386)
It's

Matt (01:34:31.213)
Let's try, I'm on to you. But yeah, as Chris said, watch this maybe coquitly and you'll have a okay time. We don't care. Next week, we are watching The Monkey King. And when I say we're watching The Monkey King, there are many versions, I believe, of Monkey King movies, if I was taking. And so let's be a little clear on what we're gonna watch.

Spencer (01:34:39.534)
I disagree.

Matt (01:35:00.994)
Um, what year is it from? It was from 2023, right?

Luciano (01:35:06.382)
Pretty sure, yeah.

Spencer (01:35:07.971)
What year is it?

Matt (01:35:08.049)
So it's the 2023 Monkey King movie. And let me just find out here who stars in it to help you all get the right movie.

Chris (01:35:17.674)

Spencer (01:35:18.782)

Luciano (01:35:19.038)

Matt (01:35:19.557)
That's right. Yeah. Jimmy O. Yang, Joe Koy, Bowen Yang, Jolie Hoang, Raffa For.

Chris (01:35:25.546)

Chris (01:35:28.926)
Stephanie Sue is in it too? Oh my God.

Matt (01:35:30.509)
Yeah, Stephanie Sue was in it. So what is the Monkey King, the 2023 film on Netflix?

Luciano (01:35:38.785)
Yeah.

Matt (01:35:40.209)
We're gonna watch that second cartoon we've watched, no, third cartoon, third animated movie we've watched, because we've watched, hey man.

Luciano (01:35:46.03)
Cartoon who are you cartoon? Yeah?

Spencer (01:35:47.613)

Matt (01:35:52.069)
I wish I was. Um... We're gonna watch that movie. I don't know. I don't know why Spencer's allowed to talk.

Spencer (01:35:52.481)
Okay boomer.

Luciano (01:35:57.711)
What was that?

Spencer (01:36:01.556)
Okay Boomer!

Luciano (01:36:01.771)
What? Yeah.

Matt (01:36:06.67)
Are you done?

Spencer (01:36:06.967)
Okay boomer!

Luciano (01:36:07.886)
Hahahaha

Matt (01:36:09.965)

Chris (01:36:10.658)
He said coquettly, indeed.

Matt (01:36:21.477)
We good? Everybody happy? Everybody satisfied?

Spencer (01:36:22.311)
The enthusiasm exploding off of him. I'm sorry I called you a boover. That was too far.

Matt (01:36:26.35)
You've killed my will to make any more effort for this podcast.

Luciano (01:36:29.178)
He didn't... He came in with not a lot of it and we killed whatever was left of it. Let's be honest. We always do this.

Matt (01:36:36.833)
It's fine, you know, it's what you guys do. But the Monkey King.

Chris (01:36:39.823)
aww

Spencer (01:36:40.672)
We should make a clip of Matt introducing the show and him saying the outro just to hear the energy change. He's like, hey everybody! And it's like, oh, okay, we're done.

Chris (01:36:42.623)
Listen.

Luciano (01:36:47.154)
Yeah, I like to measure energy levels.

Chris (01:36:52.247)
Oh god, I've gotta, I've gotta pull this up.

Matt (01:36:53.145)
You know, it would be great. Um, you know, it would be great if we could just, you know, stop this, this episode. I mean.

Spencer (01:37:01.239)
Just stop, no just stop.

Chris (01:37:02.826)
The I, hi, I'm Matt. And I'm gonna make sure that as I start this podcast, I'm gonna start at the highest level possible. Come join us as Luciano Spencer, Chris, tear my soul to absolute nothingness. Listen, this, this.
