This belief empowers us to overcome challenges and find comfort during personal struggles.

Show Notes

In this episode, I delve into the powerful concept of how light always triumphs over darkness. I reflect on my own experiences with taking cold plunges, where sometimes it can be difficult to gather the courage to jump into the cold water. Despite the initial hesitation, I find that I can handle it and it's truly amazing. Drawing from my time living in Fairbanks, Alaska, I recall the common complaint about the darkness during the winter months. With the sun only up for a few hours, it could be challenging for some. However, I discovered that even in the darkness, the light always triumphs. The light, no matter how low, is always stronger than the darkness. Even during the summer, there was always some form of light, preventing it from completely getting dark. This concept goes beyond physical light and darkness—it applies to our lives as well. There will be moments when the darkness pushes us to avoid or give up on things. However, whenever we invite light into our lives, it immediately chases away the darkness. Light and darkness cannot coexist. It's not just a cool idea; it's an undeniable fact. This belief holds incredible power and empowerment. No matter how dark our lives may seem, all it takes is a little bit of light to start dispelling the darkness. This realization brings comfort during personal struggles and serves as a reminder that we have the ability to overcome and thrive in the face of challenges.

What is Build in Public Daily?

In this show, we share the struggles and challenges of growing and building stuff.

Cold plunge thoughts. Some days, it is really hard to get in here.

I've been up for two hours already, and I just could not bring myself to do it.

But here I am, finally doing it. And you know what?

I can handle it. That's the amazing thing.

I used to live in Fairbanks, Alaska. And while I lived there,

One of the things that people complained about a lot was that it was so dark in the winter.

And it was, because the sun was only up from about 10 to 2.30 or 3, something like that.

And what I learned there, though, was that there is the darkness,

but the light always chases out the darkness.

Always. So even if there is a low light, that light was stronger than the darkness was.

And in fact, in the summer, it never got dark because there was always some sort of light.

So the darkness cannot overpower the light. The light always overpowers the darkness.

And that's true in our lives as well. Well, there are going to be times where

the darkness is pushing us to avoid doing things or stop doing things.

But any time that we invite the light into our life, then it chases out the darkness.

That's not a, hey, this is cool. This would be great. That's just a fact.

The two cannot coexist. exist.

And I think that that's an incredibly powerful and empowering belief to have.

No matter how dark your life is, you just need a little bit of light to start

chasing out that darkness.

It's all it takes is a little bit. I find a lot of comfort in that,

especially times when I'm personally struggling.
