Welcome back to the Sandals Church podcast. On this special episode, we're slowing down together. No rush. No agenda. Just a few minutes to meditate on God's word and sit in his presence.
Bryan Wade:We know life doesn't stop moving. It's busy, noisy, and often messy. But even in the middle of it all, God invites us to come close, to rest, to breathe, and to remember who he is. Wherever you find yourself today, know this. God's spirit is with you.
Bryan Wade:So take a deep breath, settle in, and allow his word to meet you right where you are.
Dani Crowley:Let's take a quiet moment together to draw near to God through his word. As you enter this space, take a slow breath and bring your attention to Jesus. Holy Spirit, we believe you are here with us, and we choose to be here with you. Today, we listen to a few words from Matthew 10. I will read this passage to you twice.
Dani Crowley:As you hear these words, notice what stands out to you. Perhaps a word, an image, or a feeling. Let's listen now. Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me. Anyone who loves their son or their daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
Dani Crowley:Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it. Anyone who welcomes you welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me. Anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.
Dani Crowley:Anyone who welcomes you welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. As you hold these words in your heart, what draws your attention? Let that word or phrase rest gently within you. Allow it to speak to you in a quiet personal way. As this time of reflection comes to a close, remain with the Lord in stillness.
Dani Crowley:Share openly with him whatever is on your heart. Let your prayer be simple and honest like a conversation with a dear friend. Stay here as long as you need, resting in his presence and his love.
