[00:00:00] Tyler Lindley: Welcome to Outbound Sales Lift Bonus Round with Kellen Casebeer. Here are a few off the cuff sales questions for Kellen. Kellen, double tap on a cold call, yes or no? Not for me. Okay. Ke Personalize every email, yes or no? Definitely not. Okay. Leave a voicemail on every cold call. Yes. Okay. Meeting reminders? Yes or no? I

[00:00:28] Kellen Casebeer: think it's a good thing to do.

I can be bad at it.

[00:00:30] Tyler Lindley: Okay. How many do you think is ideal?

[00:00:32] Kellen Casebeer: Only one. One per meeting? Only one, and I'd honestly probably mostly only for the first meeting or like a proposal.

[00:00:37] Tyler Lindley: Okay, awesome. If you have one sales software tool for you to hit quota, what tool are you using? Probably LinkedIn. LinkedIn? Okay. Sales Nav or just basic LinkedIn.

Yeah,

[00:00:49] Kellen Casebeer: I mean, uh, I would use just basic LinkedIn sales. Nav makes it even better if I can go

[00:00:52] Tyler Lindley: there. If you've got the budget, right? Yeah. Inbound or outbound? Outbound. All right. Awesome. Love it. Who's the best sales manager you've ever had and

[00:01:01] Kellen Casebeer: why? Easily? My dad. I, I was a kid. He taught me how to sell like high end home feeders and electronics and so it's a very consultative approach before I knew

[00:01:09] Tyler Lindley: anything about anything.

Nice. That's awesome. Best sales book you've ever read and why?

[00:01:15] Kellen Casebeer: Antifragile by Nassim Taleb, which is not about sales, but it's about the concept of anti fragility and it's one of the most influential things I've

[00:01:21] Tyler Lindley: ever read. Awesome. Love it. What is your why in sales, Kelly? Like why are you in

[00:01:25] Kellen Casebeer: sales? Yeah. You know, so for me it's funny, I'm in sales because like I love this career.

I believe in it. One, I believe it's a way that I can asymmetrically gain despite like kind of low resources on the way in. Yep. Then also because I just love serving this community, it's given me a lot and I think it's a great place to give back and bring others into to do the same. Yep.

[00:01:43] Tyler Lindley: I love that. What's your preferred outbound channel and why?

[00:01:48] Kellen Casebeer: It's tied between social because it's fun and phones because it's like savage.

[00:01:53] Tyler Lindley: Yeah. . I love those answers. What's your morning routine to start your day in sales? What do you do to get ready?

[00:01:58] Kellen Casebeer: Yeah. Yeah. I wake up early every day. I shower every day. First thing, drink cup coffee. And if I need a little boost, like intense music, like something crazy that pisses my wife off.

[00:02:08] Tyler Lindley: and the neighbors, uh uh, yeah, a little bit . All right, last question. Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give to your former self on your first day in sales?

[00:02:19] Kellen Casebeer: Yeah. It's actually really simple and clear to me is like, be patient. You know, it's super easy to, like day one, you're like, you hear of all this crazy money people are making, you know how little you're kind of making, like, it's really, really, really hard.

And it's. It's so weird, but like every year you'll just be so much better than you ever could have realized. And it's about having the patience to understand that will, it will just happen. And just keep your head in the game. Stay in it, you know, do what you can. I think it's

[00:02:44] Tyler Lindley: that. It's like it'll be okay,
