What is Clydesdale Media Podcast?

We cover the sport of CrossFit from all angles. We talk with athletes, coaches and celebrities that compete and surround in the sport of CrossFit at all levels. We also bring you Breaking News, Human Interest Stories and report on the Methodology of CrossFit. We also use the methodology to make ourselves the fittest we can be.

It is Monday,

and we are back and better than ever.

From the gym to the screen, yeah,

we cover it all.

Midday motivation every time you press

call.

Lunch with the Clydesdale.

Cowboy bring the heat.

Crossfit, boobies, music on repeat.

Half hour hustle, yeah,

we building that brand.

Grab a plate, tune in now,

you part of the fam.

It's lunch time.

What's going on?

I was like, operatic?

I went Luciano Pavarotti.

Yes, sir.

Yes, sir, you did.

Last week was Steve Perry.

This week I'm going Luciano Pavarotti.

Which is infinitely different,

first of all,

and probably more challenging than Steve

Perry.

And who, in fact, was a Clydesdale?

Yes.

He was a big dude.

He was a big dude.

He was a big dude.

Yeah.

How was your weekend, man?

Good, actually.

Saturday,

went and trained with my boy Gareth,

fellow Masters athlete.

He and I compete in the same places

a whole lot.

He's one of my best friends.

Got a good two and a half,

three hour session in.

Did a whole lot of work and then

went on back to the house.

Went to church yesterday and didn't do

much else beyond that.

Good stuff.

We had rain all day on Saturday, so

Julie and I just watched old movies.

Oh, yes.

I talked about it a little bit last

night, but we started with The Rock.

Dude, yes, it's on HBO.

We watched it the other day.

Still holds up.

Oh, yeah, absolutely.

It's Sean Connery, dude.

But like Nicolas Cage,

either I love him or I hate his

movie.

He's fantastic in that.

what what this is the part and i

and i mentioned it at the end of

last night show the way nicholas cage

talks is everything is herky jerky right

he's holding green balls of a toxin that

melt your skin off it is not the

time to be herky jerky

yeah when he yells at sean connery don't

move like okay i just my skin is

melting because i've just dropped all the

green balls yeah all of them i just

did the whole thing is it's everywhere at

this point they're running all over the

place one of them is about to break

and we are both about to die yeah

yeah are you insane maybe

oh can you tell me where the last

rocket is yeah go find some freaking

rockets it is uh it it just cracks

me up because you're in this delicate

situation where you cannot be startled and

the way nicholas cage talks startles you

at every turn i never thought about that

but you are one hundred percent correct

No, we watched actually a bunch more.

I say a bunch more.

At least one more murder,

random murder documentary on Netflix

because they're everywhere.

Can't do those, man.

Just can't.

The one last night, dude, it was...

it it ended still kind of ambiguously

because the people it was a uh daughter

and husband and not doesman excuse me

daughter and father they ended up killing

this dude that she was married to her

husband uh and they both got something

called voluntary manslaughter which sounds

a lot like murder to me but they

only got like a couple of years

And then,

cause like they were interviewing both of

them and they were clearly not in prison

while they were being interviewed.

And that,

like that part of it blew my mind.

And then they were just like, yep, man,

this is the end of it.

I was like, okay.

So there was no,

like usually those things I have like a

big reveal, right?

Where they, nothing.

They just kind of,

it was weird because they kind of let

you figure it out.

Like, or make you up, I guess,

make up your own mind about it.

Cause at the beginning you're like,

uh this woman's absolutely uh bad shit

crazy something's wrong with her blah blah

and then by ten minutes and you're like

oh wait no her husband is absolutely bad

shit crazy and then like it kind of

switches back and forth as it goes i

don't know the whole thing was crazy

I think I've heard that synopsis about ten

other times on.

Yeah.

A lot of the ones we watch, though,

like there's usually like a big thing

where you like you all of a sudden

it's like, oh, yeah, no,

I'm my wife watches them compulsively.

Yeah.

So I just I'm so I'm just over

it.

That's all.

There's only so many I can do.

I can't do like if there's kids involved,

I'm probably not watching it at this

point.

Like, I don't want to see that.

it makes me too concerned for my own

i can't i can't do it um and

there's a lot of them that's like that

oh we'll also watch the uh the shipwrecked

one have you seen that one no dude

that one's pretty good

uh cruise ship uh ran uh hit a

rock on the italian coast i believe it

was and like started sinking and the

captain like didn't immediately report it

and didn't immediately send everybody to

get off the boat and whatnot it's like

they tell from a couple different uh

people's perspectives it's pretty freaking

good well it's a monday and meg is

already uh being mean to people you have

friends corey she's a liberal white woman

it's fine

um there's a lot of like suggestions here

about things to watch um i watched uncle

buck and elsa i haven't seen that so

long dude john it is amazing another movie

that still holds up like i was laughing

the scene where the drunk clown shows up

to the kids birthday party

yep and john candy that says can't come

in sorry buddy get in your mouse car

and get out of dodge right yeah and

the guy then insults john candy and he

punches him in his rubber nose and it

goes when he punches him i almost fell

off the couch yeah and i um

I, it is just,

there's so many of those little tidbits in

that movie that are,

and it's so heartwarming too.

Like in, in all seriousness,

you watch the murder shit.

I'm going to watch uncle Buck and laugh.

Well, see, you,

you're acting like I had a choice.

So if it's up to me,

I don't want to watch most of those.

I did pick the one last night,

but it's only because I can't watch what

I actually want to watch.

right because i want to watch the rock

for the thirty-seventh time or tombstone

for the fifty-third time or whatever and i

get outvoted at my house i can only

watch the stuff like i would watch all

four john wick movies back to back in

a day

if it was available for me to do.

And the fact that I get outvoted,

like I don't get to watch that kind

of stuff, so.

Unless I'm by myself.

The other classic movie we did watch was

Working Girl.

Oh, Meg Ryan.

Think about the stars in that movie.

The main stars are Melanie Griffith,

Harrison Ford, Sigourney Weaver.

I did the same thing on Saturday, dude.

Don't feel bad.

I always get them confused.

Bit characters in that movie.

Joan Cusack, Kevin Spacey, Oliver Platt.

Really?

And a young, young Alec Baldwin.

When he was still skinny.

Yeah.

like when he was like, yeah,

I just remember him from like, um, oh,

not crimson tide.

The other went for October and like,

he was a good looking dude and he

was like, he looked fit and like fit,

like he looked dangerous basically.

And now he just looks dangerous.

If you go into a buffet, uh,

working girl is one of my favorite comfort

shows.

It's, it was a really, it's still,

it's a good movie,

but it is so wild.

Like where women stood in the workplace in

the mid-nineteen eighties compared to

today.

Like,

and I didn't know you could put seventeen

shades of eyeshadow.

Oh yeah.

That's one of my favorite things about old

eighties movies.

Like go watch, uh,

shit pick one uh billy hills cop and

just like watch the scene where he's just

like walking around um on what's it called

rodeo and like watch the women and women

walking around and the shit that they're

wearing you're like oh yep this came out

in the sure enough i have to address

this um

you just did all the rocky movies please

tell me it wasn't the first time oh

god no ramirez is my age no way

come on no i did see they're coming

out with a new mickey goldman movie mickey

goldman so mickey was rocky's trainer no

way they are that's not necessary and it's

being played by jeremy allen white the guy

from the bear from the bear

he's going to be mickey yep like it's

a prequel yeah it is mickey um his

fighting career mickey let's let's let's

go ahead and get this out here while

we're talking about it um clydesdale top

tip top tip of the week um this

one goes out to the the hollywood people

that i know are paying attention right now

not everything needs a prequel

Well, they ran out of sequels.

We've done six Rockies.

We've done three Creed's.

And now we have to go back and

do,

like it's getting as bad as Friday the

thirteenth, Halloween,

and Nightmare on Elm Street.

Or Fast and the Furious.

Yes, yes, yes.

Fast and the Furious may be the worst

of them all.

You know what though?

Mindless entertainment.

Because say what you want about them,

They jumped the shark a long time ago

before they ever shot a Fiero into space.

They had jumped the shark.

Well,

one place a Fiero needs to be shot

to is space because it was a wasted

car.

yes however they're in like it's popcorn

movies you can just sit on them and

go like oh wow checked it like it's

they're cool to watch they're fun to watch

you're not you're not gonna get have some

moving experience it's not you know gonna

be talked about for like oscar stuff like

some of the you know some of the

stuff that that that goes on that i

give a about the oscars but

it's not Project Hail Mary which I can

watch again and again I watched we watched

about half of that again uh Saturday

because it's just a really good movie it's

fun it's well put together it's front to

back it's fantastic but so here's the

unpopular thing I'm gonna say I stopped

watching Fast and the Furious after Tokyo

Drift I thought that movie was God awful

so so fun fact amongst the the fandom

that's the best movie you know why though

you know why though it's about car racing

and that's it there's no you know

undercover police that know they didn't

become super secret agents at any point.

Vin Diesel isn't like ejecting himself

from one car across a bridge,

catching his girlfriend in midair,

landing on another car and somehow

everybody's okay.

Like there's none of that going on.

It's just about car racing,

which is why they're like,

if you look at it from that one,

that perspective,

it's a fantastic movie because that's all

it's about.

apparently i am a bigger fan of uh

unbelievable action than i am of true

street car racing absolutely so which is

fine i can handle the john wick movies

i can handle yeah thing you know i

just cannot handle i don't i don't know

it just it was so different than the

first one it didn't belong in the series

Yeah,

they had to go back and like tie

it in,

figure out a way to tie it in.

And it was just so they could get

Han because Han was such a strong

character.

Like they need to bring him over because

the dude that it was about,

they didn't bring him back until like

eight.

It was the Fiero.

They were the ones that shot the Fiero

into space.

Okay.

I know too much about him.

What do I want to say?

Let's so let's dive a little bit into

into some CrossFit stuff.

I'm here for it.

Let's do it.

So this was not on my bingo card,

but I got a comment right before we

went live.

Okay.

And I posted a thing where Jamie's talking

about how masters don't get to do auto

objects at the games anymore.

There's no shared programming.

All of that, okay?

So this guy commented.

The stats are... Andrew Sten,

plug your ears now.

I'm just warning you.

He said,

I'm curious how much longer CrossFit Games

team plans to allow Legends team to

continue programming the Master Division

workouts.

And the reason he says this,

I'm skipping over a lot of his commentary.

Sure.

He took all of the scores from Legends

this year and looked at how many times

athletes were capped.

Oh.

So in the men's,

thirty-five to thirty-nine,

a hundred and fifty total score entries,

sixty-one point three percent capped.

Oof.

Women's, thirty-five to thirty-nine,

a hundred and eighty total score entries,

fifty-six point one were time caps.

Men's, forty to forty-four,

a hundred and sixty-seven total scored

entries, sixty point four were time caps.

Women's, forty to forty-four,

a hundred and eighty score entries,

fifty-two point two percent were time

caps.

When more than half of all scores across

an entire competition or time caps,

it raises serious questions about whether

the programmers know what the hell they

are doing.

COVID is past and the new pandemic

affecting CrossFit space is over

programming.

These are the words from Nicholas Sofer.

Yeah.

it's a comment on the reel i put

out this morning from jerry from it's

actually from last night's show yeah and

it's jamie just talking about they don't

get to touch odd objects anymore it's

funny that she mentions that i mentioned

that last night because as i got to

the gym this morning and was going to

grab my barbell and uh getting ready or

not and um

We have a couple of yokes and, uh,

Bernard keeps his weights like on the

yoke, you know, where, where they stack.

And I was going to pull stuff off

there.

And I had that thought this morning that,

man,

I haven't done a yoke carry in a

while.

And I was like,

how cool would that be to do,

you know,

have something with a yoke carry for us

at a comp,

because I've never actually done one in

live competition before.

I've done a whole bunch of them at

the gym.

where it'd be carries Brandon's program,

static yoke holds before,

which probably wouldn't be real good for a

comp, but still just odd object stuff.

The most,

the most odd object we we've gotten out

of anything that I've done here in the

last couple of years has been a sandbag.

And that's it.

That argument.

I totally am all on.

I want to know your,

your thoughts on over half the, the,

Half the score is being capped.

Every time they put something out,

since we're talking about those people in

particular,

a lot of the conversation that I have

with friends of mine who compete is on

that.

How many people are going to get capped?

want to be fair andrew stent says would

be interesting to see the same analysis

for elite individuals i agree absolutely

someone do that for mayhem or for

syndicate or for french throwdown or any

of those yeah

I would love, I would love,

I would love to,

I would love to see that as far

as the individuals are, you know,

the elites, excuse me, are, are concerned,

but a lot of the conversation I have

with people, um,

elite people that are other elite people

that I know, or, oh, okay.

Ooh, that's a tight cap.

Oh, that's a tight cap.

Oh.

And that's not just for the stuff that

you do for the games.

That's stuff that they do for their actual

legends programming too.

Or like the,

the red legends comp that I've made.

I understand the process of, you know,

program for the best, scale for the rest,

you know,

how that kind of carries over into

competition, like, you know,

the best people are going to finish it,

blah, blah, whatever.

But it's also been proven they don't test

a lot of their stuff,

or at least not appropriately, right?

Right.

That's a problem.

And I think that's where that comes in

at is that they're not reaching out to

people who are on that cusp,

not necessarily going to make the game

that you haven't made the games yet.

Hey,

can you try this kind of stuff out

for me?

Because we're out here.

There's a lot of people that I know

that would be happy to, you know,

give this,

give this stuff a run or whatnot,

so that you can make those kinds of

adjustments.

to where you can say, oh, yeah, cool,

this might be a little bit much as

far as just putting some numbers on down

and then throwing something, you know,

basically throwing it at the wall and see

what sticks after that because that's a

lot of what it feels like.

have a few times points that i want

to give sure they're there to say sure

uh shanna says i wonder and i know

she is not a fan of the programming

so for her to give the counterpoint is

taking a lot i wonder if that was

because less people interested in signing

up so i had to go deeper on

the leaderboard more athletes competing

with less less fitness i think that is

a very valid argument yeah somewhat i

could see that

Lito,

I don't mind a lot of the field

being capped.

I do mind if they didn't know that

people would get capped because they

didn't test the event.

And they've said they don't have women

testers.

Well, what's funny is, Lito,

is the men capped more than the women.

Yeah, we're like sixty-five percent.

Back to Shanna's comment,

maybe more women were interested in

signing up and you had a higher level

of fitness.

We don't know.

I worked in statistics for a good number

of years.

You can make numbers say whatever you want

them to say.

And so there are definitely some.

Andrew Sten,

I'd like to hear programmers discuss the

use of time caps,

whether they like them or not,

or how they determine the time cap.

I know Dave has said there are times

he wants most of the field to be

capped.

That's what I was about to say.

So like going back to Lito's point,

don't have a necessary problem with people

getting capped.

It's when

it doesn't seem to happen.

Like it,

like it doesn't seem to make sense that

everybody's getting capped.

Like, why did you, you know,

why are you writing a workout where,

and I get it,

Dave does do that sometimes,

but he's like,

I want to see exactly what people can

do.

People are going to get capped at this,

you know?

And I think he does that kind of

stuff with the future in mind and going,

we're going to retest this.

Like I'm going to throw this at,

at these people.

They're probably going to get capped.

and they're probably you know this is

probably going to happen but then a year

from now or two years from now whatever

the case may be we're going to do

it again because now they know that that's

a possibility that's one thing right this

is not that and i think i think

most of most of the especially master's

community would agree that this is not

that it's really not um

Kat, good to see you.

I can't wait to see you in a

week.

Uh,

the variety was so good and so fun.

Yeah,

that's when there was still a connection

between Masters and Elite games.

We had the festival feel.

We were in Madison.

The same equipment was there for the

Elites.

They let the Masters play on the same

stuff that was there,

and there was a coordination.

It may not have been the exact same

event,

but at least it was something similar

enough where you felt like it was still

connected.

And that's, I don't, I don't like,

granted it is what it is.

It is nothing I can do about it

one way or another, but I don't,

I would much rather, I'm going to say,

I don't like that.

I would much, much rather.

have some sort of connection to what

everybody else is doing even though we're

separated right and yes technically we're

still you know not me yet but just

technically master athletes are still

games athletes but you're doing a

completely different test like not not the

same number of workouts not the same

workouts by any stretch of imagination

whatnot because it's handed off to

somebody else completely and

I don't want to say it means less

because that's not true at all.

You're still getting crowned the fittest

on earth or whatever age group that you're

in.

But it's just different when it's

different when it's different.

It feels different because it's like we're

not doing anything close to what those

guys are doing.

And we can,

just a different variety of it.

And I'm not a big fan of that.

Yeah, what Lito's saying right there,

at least one event would be fantastic for

everybody to do.

Yeah,

I think if you're going to announce that

you're all in San Jose for the same

weekend,

there should be a connection bigger than

even one event.

Yeah.

Right?

All that stuff is there in the same

town.

There just is no coordination.

And I had a riff about this last

night.

It got clipped by Dents.

And that's even got misinterpreted because

of the clip.

I wasn't saying that masters are more

popular or deserve more attention.

What I was saying is the masters fund

everything.

They fund it all.

And it's not even close.

CrossFit just is like, hands,

we got your money.

Now you go do your own thing over

here with legends.

Yeah.

And the reason that CrossFit will never

break that cord is because that's where

they get all their money to fund this

stuff.

And yet CrossFit takes away the whole

community aspect of the games and tries to

make it now a professional arena sport.

And with that,

you lose that connection to everything

else.

that's not that's not an indictment on

legends or the pit or wheel wad that's

an indictment on if you want them to

run your event and you want it to

be a community event then crossfit you

need to have more oversight over it agreed

that's all so that it is it does

make sense as a community

and not we're just a community to to

grab your cash and then now you go

off and do your own thing right so

that was my point last night in the

riff and i'm saying it much calmer today

um

because I want that understood.

I understand that all the eyes are on

the elite individuals,

and they're the ones that fill the arenas,

and that doesn't happen at Masters events.

And we're aware of that.

But you don't have any qualms in taking

all of their money.

Nope.

fifty percent of the games budget from the

open registrations goes to uh fund the

games and even the masters and and stuff

and more than fifty percent of that money

is from thirty five to forty nine

uh no riley so the people of the

masters age group want to watch the elite

not their own age group just a thought

no we watch all of it what i'm

saying that if you're signing up for the

open then you're competing if and i'm just

pointing out that the open money is fifty

percent thirty five to forty nine

add in the quarterfinal money and the

semifinal money that you charge these

athletes,

and then you add in the five hundred

dollars apiece to go to the games for

the Masters athletes in all the divisions

with all the people.

There's a lot of money being pumped into

the CrossFit ecosystem from the Masters

athletes.

Real quick, I need to ask Lito something.

The fact you're running with a slippery

med ball with bananas like doing a class

workout.

I must have missed that workout, Lito.

I need... It's three rounds for time,

six hundred meter run,

six hundred meter weighted run.

And the weighted run's a med ball?

Only for the women.

Sandbag for the men,

med ball for the women.

It changes the run for men and women

completely.

Anybody who's ever run with a med ball

knows how bad it sucks because you can't

hold, there's no good way to hold it.

And it's event one.

So you're going to have a crook in

your neck the rest of the weekend,

or you're not going to be able to

breathe because you're hugging it.

Yeah.

You're either doing this the entire time,

which sucks.

Six hundred meters.

Good Lord.

Or you're yeah.

Or you're doing this.

Hold it like a pregnant lady.

And that's it.

That's your two options.

There's no I mean,

I guess you could do like this with

it if you really felt the need.

But that's probably incredibly dangerous.

That's.

Yes, Corey,

men are running with a thirty kilogram

sandbag.

We're running with a fourteen kilogram med

ball, which is isn't remotely the same.

I don't remember the pounds.

It's thirty and fifty.

It's thirty and fifty.

So I do remember that now because Chris

did send me send us that.

We were trying to speculate,

because at the time when he sent it

to me, he didn't know what it was.

So we were thinking maybe a ruck,

which would have made way more sense.

But he was talking about logistics-wise,

getting in and out of it,

because it's six hundred,

and then six hundred,

and then six hundred,

and then six hundred.

And I was like,

a ruck would make sense,

because you could just throw it on your

back, take off, come back.

A sandbag and a ball,

which are not the same.

Jesus Christ.

um kate who if you haven't seen is

going to be on our show on wednesday

and uh no i haven't seen it yes

yeah kate's coming on on wednesday uh

carrying a thirty pound med ball for six

hundred is brutal her shoulders and traps

are jacked up from yesterday dude it's

there's no good way to there's no there's

no good way to carry it uh cat

damage control workout for her and it's

the first workout yep

It's absolutely horrible,

whichever way you hold it.

It's like running with a plate.

And our very own Joseph Ramirez.

The best way to run with the med

ball is to not run with the med

ball.

Yeah.

It falls under that category.

It's like somebody saying,

I ran this race,

and I ran this race,

and I ran this race.

Has anybody told you you didn't have to?

What a stupid decision from Tristan,

coach extraordinaire.

A hundred percent.

like running with a forty five pound plate

if you've ever done that it's the same

type deal there's no good way to carry

it becomes a death march at some point

because you're sitting there trying to i

got my finger in a hole and i've

got underneath my arm or i'm holding it

like this behind there's no good way to

do it and it just becomes a death

march at least a sandbag you can just

throw it on your shoulder and get jiggy

with like a fifties nothing i say nothing

it's

Yeah,

the ladies last night said they would

rather go up to the fifty pound weight

and carry the sandbag than to carry less

weight with a med ball.

I understand completely.

I'm throwing it out there because we have

a lot of female Masters athletes in the

chat right at this moment.

Yeah.

How many of you would rather go up

to the fifty and carry a sandbag rather

than a thirty pound one?

Yeah.

Lito was all in for the fifty pound

sandbag.

Lito said yes to the rest of your

sentence.

Yes.

Yep.

I very know Kate is not an alias

for Gabby.

Kate is cooler than Gabby.

Kate is way cooler than Gabby.

Met Kate several times.

She's awesome.

I say several times.

We hung out.

Got to hang out a little bit in

Birmingham.

She's awesome.

Shanna says I would love a fifty pound

sandbag.

We just fixed your event.

Jamie said, if you want to scale it,

go fifty pound sandbag with a four hundred

run,

four hundred meter run instead of six

hundred.

Yeah.

Or you just get some thirty pound

sandbags.

Because those are a thing.

We have some at the gym.

At CrossFit Virtus,

little CrossFit Virtus in Gonzales,

Louisiana.

We have thirty five pound sandbags.

Yeah.

You can throw it over your shoulder and

you got to stay on this side,

stay on that side.

Get jiggy with it.

The same with the .

.

.

Avera,

I'm starting to worry that you're a Gabby

stalker.

He's definitely way more concerned about

Gabby than I feel like most people are

at this point.

I've already moved on.

Yeah, okay.

She pulled out.

All right, cool.

She's gone.

Eileen is in.

God bless her.

Go, Eileen.

Let's move on.

Yeah.

Oh, I didn't even think about that.

Would be nice to finish with an unweighted

run, too,

so we'd get to sprint to the end.

But, hey, that's too much to ask.

No, you can trudge to the end.

I want to see.

This is going to sound so horrible.

I would love to see Lito running with

the ball, like,

held above her head with her bright red

hair just flowing in the wind and just

getting down with it,

trying to get across the line.

Yeah.

um clock it is it is spelled aileen

words is replaced gabby magawa at the

games but i guess it's pronounced eileen

come on eileen yeah don't start yeah no

i i that is one song i i

hit the switch button whenever it comes on

same

The Slippery Ball Sprint to the end is

going to be comical.

Maybe that's what they should call the

event.

The Slippery Ball Sprint.

The Slippery Ball Sprint.

But that's only the women's version.

Here's the thing, dude,

and the more I think about it,

because you can't talk about the Slippery

Ball Sprint, is that once you get sweaty,

it's hard to hold on to.

So, like, third round,

you got to finish with the ball,

and now you're just trying to... Like,

how many people are going to...

You squeeze it in,

it's like it's going to...

pop out and out of balls flying off.

Jesus.

Cat says sprint.

Yeah, it's a sprint.

It's sprinted Jason cat.

Oh,

Vera wants to know from Lido is she

going fluorescent red or fluorescent

orange?

Are you talking about her hair?

Yeah, her hair is red, dude.

Yeah.

We'll call it the Lido Shuffle.

The Lido Shuffle.

The Lady Shuffle.

That's a great song.

That's way better than Come On Eileen.

Yeah.

The Lido Shuffle.

Lido.

The...

she uh she is not wrong it is

going to be an aggressive that last round

is going to be an aggressive shuffle which

is not going to be fun uh my

garment thought my weighted laps were

recovery based on how slow i was moving

cool yeah again so your garment if you

got it on right and it's just running

Kate's running with her ball and it says,

you're in zone two.

Yes.

It'll slow down.

Like if you slow down for something,

it'll tell you, oh, you've recovered.

Like your heart rate's going down this

much in the past however many minutes.

And that's probably what happened to Kate.

Garmin's telling you, oh,

you're recovering.

Good job.

Good job.

You're supposed to be recovering.

No, no, no.

I'm just going really slow.

uh i tried it and it was horrible

my garment now thinks i'm getting more

unfit because of how hard this how hard

the slow pace was yeah i mean look

look at mark phillips thinking on the

bright side at least the burning delts

will keep you from thinking about your

legs yeah

your traps and everything's going to be so

much on fire and stuck in this position

that you're not even gonna be worried

about what your legs feel like.

Like who cares at that point?

Wow.

I have kind of a,

a kind of a, a mini announcement,

a mini announcement, a mini announcement,

a soft launch per se, soft launch.

We may be getting a producer.

Get out of town.

Yep.

The Glintons made me jealous of Joseph.

Fair.

So I tried to upgrade and get a

producer myself.

Ooh.

For all the shows.

Okay.

And it may be someone that's in our

chat.

Just saying.

Is it also named Joseph?

It is not.

Okay.

Joseph is wearing too many hats.

I don't think I've ever seen Joseph wear

any hat, but fair.

Yeah.

Um,

it's someone who likes to fight with me

five minutes before airtime.

So I figured why not just put her

on the show as a producer and then

she can throw her jabs right here.

Live stick and move, baby, stick and move.

Only she's got two screens where she can

pull stuff up while looking at the other

stuff.

She'll be fine.

Yeah.

So we're going to run through some stuff

on Wednesday, see how it goes.

And maybe after that,

we'll have a producer that pull up our

shit for us.

Fantastic.

They really would.

produce produce producer v can we just

call it producer v sure v for vendetta

so my daughter was into high school

musical back in the day right and i

saw i saw the whole casting concert just

don't be jealous um but vanessa hudgens

was a star of high school musical and

then she put out an album and the

whole album starts

So that's all I can think about when

you said that.

Oh, that's fantastic.

Oh,

being a girl dad is so much fun.

It is.

And Meg, you, you are,

we're all in this together.

I'm so glad I've never seen any, any,

any of that.

Please don't call me that on the show.

Too late.

Just like Trained Olive didn't ask for

that.

Yeah.

Just like Corey didn't ask for the cowboy.

I did not.

Poor Winter is, I mean,

Taint Olive from the day she died at

this point.

Oh, Jesus.

I even know the dance.

Of course you do, Meg.

I probably did it one time as well,

Meg, but I...

i conveniently packed it away here's the

thing i don't have to worry about that

right now because it's gone right like

high school musical has been a thing it's

already done whatever my daughter's eight

you know what i'm you know what you

know what my like high functioning

knowledge of is right now louie

Like, we watch a lot of Bluey.

We watched Bluey yesterday,

as a matter of fact.

And, like,

I had to negotiate with the eight-year-old

terrorist in braces sitting next to me on

the couch because I was like, hey, bro,

I'm not watching Bluey no more.

She's like,

can we just watch one more episode?

And yes, fine.

We can watch this other eight-minute

episode,

and that's enough of it that we've seen

thirty-seven times.

I don't even know who Bluey is.

You should.

It's really good.

I hate to say that,

but it's really good.

You just complained about it.

It's not a complaint.

Let me be clear.

Let me clarify.

it's not a complaint it's just the fact

that i know what it like you'll catch

yourself watching it and the episodes are

really well put together and like jameson

could go do something else and i'll

probably watch three more before it

because they're eight minutes long so like

it's boom boom boom boom and it's over

with moves right along but yeah it's

pretty good here's my my nightmare from

when my daughter was little

So Ashley Tisdale played the bitchy girl

in High School Musical.

Okay.

That was my daughter's favorite.

Gotcha.

We saw High School Musical,

the entire cast,

minus Zac Efron in concert at a big

arena.

But Ashley Tisdale was coming to the local

mall.

We went and camped at the mall as

soon as we could get in the doors

and it ended up being like four hours

for Ashley Tisdale to come out of

JCPenney's JCPenney, baby.

Perform three songs and leave.

Four and a half hours for that.

Sitting there for four hours waiting for

her to appear.

And when she did,

the whole crowd like mushed us against the

railing.

And I'm like bitching the whole time.

Like, I stood here for four hours.

This is my spot.

I'm throwing elbows.

I'm a Clydesdale for a reason.

There you go, Mark Phillips.

Core memory created.

my gosh uh yes to answer trained olives

uh question bluey is a girl so is

her sister bingo yeah let me tell you

something scott if you for whatever reason

you got like nieces nephews like anybody

around that age would no there's nobody

okay dude i'm old i get it um

The dad.

And I'm not ready for a grandkid yet

either.

Understandable.

The dad, bingo, excuse me, dad, bandit,

is every dad I know.

Every good dad I know.

Like,

from playing with the kids to like at

one point they make the best one of

the best jokes on the planet on the

entire show is the kids are watching

something and bandit comes up now they're

all cartoon dogs right they're cartoon dog

family and bandit goes i'm not taking

advice from some cartoon dog i'm not

taking child uh child yeah i'm not taking

child what is it like child rearing advice

or whatever from some cartoon dog

It's fantastic, dude.

It's absolutely fantastic.

There was a show when Corey was small

that it called Good Luck Charlie.

Okay.

And the dad on there was Bob.

And Bob was awesome.

Yeah.

He made watching that show worthwhile.

I bet.

For me.

I could tolerate the show because of Bob.

Because Bob was feeling what I was

feeling.

And we could commiserate together.

Yeah.

it's great dude like man i'm telling you

bandit is my spirit animal most days

because he just wants his kids to be

happy plays with him does cool stuff um

but doesn't like they don't take the show

that seriously if that makes sense i don't

know it's great uh terry you're giving me

flashbacks to a wiggles concert yep done

that too so good did bear in the

big blue house i do i did like

bearing the big blue house

I like anything with puppets.

I figured that out from the time I

saw the first thing with the Muppet,

like first time I ever saw the Muppets.

The Muppet show was fantastic.

I still will go back and watch the

old, like late seventies, you know,

early eighties episodes with stars.

Nobody,

nobody of the current generation has no

idea who they are.

And then like stuff like Fraggle Rock and

Baron of Big Blue House and whatnot.

Like I can watch that kind of stuff

for whatever reason.

Ken Walters stopped ruining it for him.

He hasn't seen that Bluey episode yet.

Ken, you will enjoy it, dude.

Sit there with your grandkid because you

can watch it as an adult and you're

like, oh, yeah, it's pretty cool.

Meredith says Bandit's a hoot.

Apparently, like, everybody's into Bluey.

Yeah, dude.

Roly-Poly-Oly was my favorite to watch

with my kids.

I haven't saw that one either.

I've heard the name and I haven't saw

that one.

Stark contrast to Peppa Pig's dad,

who's a bumbling idiot.

He is, Mark.

That is a one hundred percent fact right

there.

A British idiot at that.

know jameson watched peppa pig for like a

short amount of time and then we moved

on basically as soon as she found because

she loves dogs to begin with so as

soon as she found bluey and there's like

now there's cartoon talking dogs and it's

the episodes are entertaining she's good

uh ed now i am fully on board

with this pinking the brain is one of

the greatest written shows in my lifetime

what are we going to do tonight

The same thing we do every night, Pinky.

Try to take over the world.

Pinky and the Brain is classic.

If I see it, I turn it on.

Are you thinking what I'm thinking, Pinky?

And Pinky goes, I think so, Brain.

But I don't know where we're going to

get any rubber pants.

Yeah.

they are the best it's still like it

still makes me laugh to this day it's

it was so well written it was so

well written like and it was not made

for kids man thinking the brain it was

on animaniacs but that does not mean that

it was made for kids not by any

stretch of the imagination no uh we had

a girl in basic that my ti called

pinky

So she was brilliant, right?

She was super smart.

Yeah.

Super smart.

Just sharp as a tack every single time.

There's a list.

Oh, yeah.

I'm not even getting into Barney.

no nope jody never saw pinky never watch

bluey i'm so out of it let me

tell you jody if you see pinky in

the brain on and you just want to

laugh yeah it's worth just watch one

episode it'll it'll cure what ails you yep

fantastic

Are you pondering what I'm pondering?

That's what it is, not thinking.

What are you pondering what I'm pondering?

Or she had a huge dome.

I mean, either way.

That Joseph.

Sorry,

I just found a list of all of

them.

I think he just watches us to cure

what ails her.

I mean, whatever works.

Ren and Stimpy, they were good too.

I didn't get that channel growing up,

so I missed that a little bit.

As far as Ren and Stimpy is concerned,

and Bert, you know what I'm talking about,

Log...

So they would do like random commercials

for stuff that didn't actually exist,

right?

Because you were watching Ren and Stimpy.

And there was one for a toy called

Log.

And it was exactly what you think it

is.

It's a log.

And there's the theme song.

And it starts off, what rolls downstairs,

goes over some pears,

rolls over your neighbor's dog.

It fits in your back and great for

a snack.

It's Log, Log, Log.

Yeah.

it's log it's log it's big it's heavy

it's wood it's log it's log it's better

than bad it's good fyi ren and stimpy

um is the same guy that did uh

king of the hill oh mike judge mike

judge like and beavis and butthead beavis

and butthead all of that dude so like

it's fantastic

And there's a whole ad,

and it's a kid with a big log.

It's on your back,

and grateful for a snack.

It's log, log, log.

I never missed an episode of Beavis and

Butthead.

I mean,

that was when I was in college.

Yeah.

I mean, Beavis and Butthead,

if it was on, that's another thing.

If I was flipping through the channels and

it was on, I was watching it.

And now if you watch a rerun of

it, they've taken the music videos out,

which was my favorite part of Beavis and

Honey.

Yeah,

when they were sitting there just making,

or not,

they were just talking about the music

videos.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Best cartoons ever,

Thundercats and Voltron.

No amount of therapy can fix this.

The show or you, Meg?

Because we don't want to be fixed.

No.

No man wants to be fixed.

Oh, I am incorrect.

I'm going to pray this apology right now.

It was a completely different guy.

I thought I was all Mike Judge.

It's not.

Animation veteran Jim Smith,

who co-founded the studio and co-developed

Ren Stimpy,

died of a heart attack actually last year.

And she was primary creator.

John Krafowski is still living.

anyway moving right along yeah i love king

of the hill too but i digress i

don't even i don't even know what the

hell i was that's fine we got kate

on wednesday producer as long as she

passes the test on wednesday make me spit

ghost everywhere no pressure um

Yeah, I guess that's all I've got.

I don't even know what the hell.

With that, I like this from Ed.

I am going to leave you.

My therapist says I have some hurdles.

I pay him to say that.

Yeah, I think we all do, Ed.

We all do.

I think you mean if you pass the

test.

She's saying she's interviewing me.

Are you talking to me?

Are you talking to me?

It's like that scene in Stubbrothers when

they show up and it's like,

why don't I interview you?

They're doing the job interviews.

She's like, okay,

this could be a good exercise.

No, it would not be.

I just want to leave everybody with this.

I love art open and closing theme songs.

We had the Glintons on on Friday.

This is the first show we've done since

then.

We had to pick Colleen up off the

floor after the closing theme song.

Y'all, she couldn't breathe.

We can't hear each other while it's

playing because everybody's muted.

But you can see everybody's screen still.

And Colleen was gasping,

trying to get air into her lungs.

And it was fantastic.

And it made me feel so happy that

someone got that much pleasure out of our

closing song.

A hundred percent.

So good.

Vicky keeps gotten checks.

Corey is the loose cannon.

Amen.

Amen.

Maybe.

With that, everybody enjoy.

Enjoy this closing theme song like Colleen

Glinton would.

You wouldn't wait to get to the editing

room to jazz me up.

I'm already jazzy.

From the gym to the screen, yeah,

we cover it all.

Midday motivation every time we press

call.

Lunch with the Clydesdale,

cowboy in the heat.

CrossFit, movies, music, home repeat.

Half-hour hustle, yeah,

we're building that brand.

Grab a plate, shoot it,

now you're part of the fam.
