Clydesdale Media Podcast

Just talking about the weekend that was at the 2026 CrossFit Games.  Day 3 and we definitely have some story lines developing.

What is Clydesdale Media Podcast?

We cover the sport of CrossFit from all angles. We talk with athletes, coaches and celebrities that compete and surround in the sport of CrossFit at all levels. We also bring you Breaking News, Human Interest Stories and report on the Methodology of CrossFit. We also use the methodology to make ourselves the fittest we can be.

So when that lunch bell ring, yeah,

you know what to do.

Hit play, stay strong,

let the park carry you.

Clydesdale Cowboy, yeah, we stay on track.

Midday Kings of the mic, yeah,

we always come back.

What is going on, everybody?

It looks a little different.

It looks a little different.

That song is still fire.

I still, I still think that's a bop.

Like I'm,

I'm in it to win it with that

song today.

The, um,

the Cowboys being played by Garrett

Clinton.

Okay.

Yeah, I'm ready.

Let's go.

I'll be the cowboy.

And it is,

it is lunch somewhere in the world,

somewhere, somewhere facts.

Um, it's been, I don't know, even like,

I would just want to tell you this,

like this,

these two days of the CrossFit games.

And it's just been,

it's been so much fun.

Like, I can't even tell you like without,

um, not being able to be there.

And just getting to see all you guys

do all your things.

Like it's been, it's been so much fun.

It's been even,

it's been as much fun as it was

last year.

And we were there last year and it's

so cool.

I'm so pumped.

One of my other co-hosts, Scott,

you left the venue.

I did.

I needed to take a little stress release

and just kind of collect myself.

When you're at the venue,

you cannot stay connected to what's really

going on.

Like I had no idea who was in

what place, all of that stuff.

So I came back just to kind of

decompress and figure out what the

leaderboard looked like, where we were,

all of that stuff.

Who does your leaderboard?

I'm curious.

Who does my leaderboard?

Yeah, like Dadawad.

Yeah, Holly Dugan.

Oh, cool.

I've been going to that all weekend long

to see who won the Masters.

Jamie, congratulations.

All my favorite people in the Masters.

It was cool to be able to just

go to your page and see who won.

So she is the best in the business.

She's our stats and info person.

Um, you,

you have Joseph and Megan as your backdoor

people.

Yeah.

I have Holly as my stats and info

person.

Awesome.

So cool.

Um,

and I don't even like give her

instructions anymore.

She just does her thing and I collaborate.

Yo, Dattawad is fire.

She is.

It's cool.

I can just go look and see.

I woke up this morning and I was

just like, oh, who's winning?

Dattawad, Clydesdale.

Let's go.

Yep.

Yeah, she's a librarian.

And loves statistics.

Makes sense.

So she's awesome.

So you've been watching from home.

Do you think this year's games has been

as exciting as years past?

You said you're having a good time with

it, so I'm assuming.

Oh, yeah.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

I got my wish.

I got Climbing Snail.

Thought that was amazing.

Loved it.

Loved to watch it.

This last one,

I'm curious on your opinion.

The GHD wall ball, the muscle-ups,

the pig flip, everybody was like,

I kind of saw the...

I try not to click on the CrossFit

Games comments,

but I did click on them today and

people were mad about it.

I thought it was awesome.

I've always maintained that the medley

from a couple years ago was fun because

it made us... It let us see how...

like CrossFit Games athletes struggle.

You know what I mean?

So like today when they did the triple

unders and they were tired doing the

triple unders, I was like, oh, yeah,

that's how we do double unders.

That's how we feel when we do double

unders.

That's how we feel when we do single.

So for me, it was fun.

But I'm curious your take on that one.

So...

So I'm in a chat with Jamie and

Carolyn,

and Carolyn hated the triple unders.

But Carolyn hates double unders.

So I don't know.

Jamie didn't like them either,

I don't think.

I had a bigger problem with the GHD

wall ball shot.

Really?

Because I would have loved that.

I'm tall.

I'm big.

I played basketball.

I would have loved that.

That would have been a thing that I

would have just did.

It wouldn't have been...

You know what I mean?

I don't know.

I loved it.

I thought it was great.

And I thought watching them try to figure

it out was awesome.

I thought it looked slow.

I would rather have a med ball sit

up

They used to do those where you just

brought the ball up,

touch the footrest of the GHD, back down.

That stays quicker and looks more

athletic.

So you don't want to see them ever

struggle.

I'm okay with them struggling.

I was fine with the triple unders.

I'm okay with them struggling with a

weight in the speed snatch ladder.

I'm okay with all that.

It just...

It looked like they came up, stopped,

and then shot put.

If they were good at it and it

was a fluid motion,

I'd be better with it.

Yes.

It's like seeing your kid do something

that you really want to explain to them

how to do.

so they know how to do it.

It was like my kid in Little League

this year, teaching him how to hit.

You know what I mean?

It was like, okay, no,

I have to take you out here and

teach you how to do it.

But at the same time,

you kind of have to wrestle with it.

You have to be okay with people trying

to figure things out, I think.

And I liked it.

I like... I'm not saying all the events,

but I like an event where the athletes...

look like us and we want to go.

I think there was a period of time

where we were like, Hey,

we watched the CrossFit games and we were

like, we want to go do this.

We want to try this.

You can do this.

And because it looked difficult for them.

And I don't think that we're there anymore

because it doesn't look like we can do

it anymore.

They're just doing it to there.

They're so good at it that we don't

look like we can do it anymore.

Um, I, I hear you and,

and I don't want to be negative because

I really think it's been a fun games

to watch for the most part.

The only,

the only thing I'm super critical of is

that sack toss.

Oh, yeah.

Yeah, okay.

And being in the arena during that event,

the air came out of the place.

Nobody understood it.

Nobody... Like,

the crowd couldn't figure it out.

They look silly.

And honestly,

the vibe just died during that event.

That sucks.

Yeah, I... We watched it.

I...

That one,

if you want to talk about a slow

event, sure,

I will say that was a slow event.

Like, yeah, absolutely.

And thank God it was only fifty points.

Yeah, I mean, I don't know.

Yeah,

I don't know if we needed that one.

But I wasn't mad at it.

I thought it was good.

I thought it was fun.

It was something that you do in high

school, right?

You go outside, you throw a javelin,

you throw a shot put,

you try to jump as far as you

can.

Just track, track and field.

So I wasn't mad at it,

but I get it.

I get where people would be like, yo...

I want to see a race,

or I want to see...

I don't even need to see a race.

If they would have done three over the

head,

I think I would have been better with

it.

But the side shuffle thing just did not

play in the arena.

Would you have been better with it if

they had done a strongman thing,

where if they had thrown it up and

over something?

I think you're risking someone dropping it

on their head.

What I saw yesterday,

some of the people had no idea where

the release point should be for some of

the movements.

And at least overhead,

they're launching it behind them.

So it's away from them.

If you're going up and over and you

miss that release point,

it's coming right back down on your head.

I get that, but that's not ball sports.

Pause.

Like it's like you, you,

Is that a thing where you've never played

sports?

You've never played,

you've never done track,

you've never done softball,

you've never done baseball,

you've never done... I think that's it.

I just think it's dangerous.

I get it.

That's fine.

I love it when I watch a strong

man do it because it is a skill.

It is about release point.

It is all of that.

So

I'm having fun.

Like, I'm just saying, like,

I think I'm having fun this year.

The injuries have sucked.

Like,

watching Lucy McGonigal struggle has

sucked.

Watching Lydia Fish struggle with what

she's going through has sucked.

But I...

They both say it's part of sports.

And so, like, I don't know,

throwing a bag...

Are you talking about?

You're talking about safety.

They're not throwing it overhead.

But if you're putting a bar up like

the strong men do,

you pretty much stand under the bar.

And so you're trying to get it up

and over and not hit you.

Wait for this.

Are we still talking about the toss?

What are we talking about now?

If we did the strong man version.

Well, no,

the strongman version of the toss is where

they throw it over a really high freaking

thing.

Like they're trying to throw it over

backwards over a high bar.

But they stand under the bar.

Oh,

so what you're saying is it'll hit the

bar and then hit them?

Right.

Or it'll miss going over the bar to

come down and hit them.

Gotcha.

Okay.

That would be my fear on that.

I don't know, dude.

I don't know.

It's sports.

It's like baseball and you throw a ninety

nine mile an hour fastball and then

someone hits a line drive back at your

head like.

But that pitcher and that batter have had

years and years of practice of getting out

of the way or getting a glove up

or.

Okay.

How many times does that happen in a

game?

Like that doesn't happen.

I mean,

you get the highlight reels of it

happening, but look, I get it.

Safety, safety first.

I'm with you.

I'm on it.

I'm there.

um but overall i've really enjoyed the

events um the sack toss is really the

only one i've been really disappointed

with the rest i'm good i ever the

sprint the sprint whatever people want to

call it was fun to watch yes watching

amy amy kringle hit the jets at the

end of that was so much fun watching

uh gee and uh

Yeah,

Ricky go toe-to-toe at the end was fun.

Oh, were you mad at the elbow?

Were you mad at the elbow jockeying at

the end of that?

Or in the middle?

I don't know.

No, I'm not mad at it.

Me either.

I thought it was great.

I mean,

how many times on the beach run going

out to the water did people get elbowed

into the sand?

Or Sager.

Sager and... What's his face?

When they were doing the...

When they were running for the... Shoot.

The course.

The obstacle course.

Rubbing his bracing.

I was cool.

I was good with it.

Yeah.

Lido, member for thirteen months.

And top five Masters Division...

Athlete.

What's going on, Leo?

Daniel says,

I wish they would have done it on

a track.

I kind of like this.

I kind of like the tight corner.

It was gritty.

There was like a...

fan element to it like we were there

too kind of like the bike thing like

it was we were there you know what

i mean yeah uh wayne short who i

met this week and got to hang out

with a little bit uh someone needs to

get a football uniform on jake douglas

dude dude is huge and fast oh he

was yeah yeah yeah um

Fergie,

I was mad someone turned DB into roadkill

on the bike.

I just got noticed they're selling those

bikes.

Some of them,

they should put a really big discount on

because the frames and tires are bent to

hell.

Yeah, there was an Ariel Lohan... Like,

her bike was...

There was a bunch of people that got

messed up from that, right?

Yeah, her and Erica Folo collided.

Ariel admitted that it was her fault.

But both of their bikes,

the front tires were all wobbly.

Yeah.

And bent.

It was fun.

Did you like that event?

Like, I liked it.

Yeah.

It's...

The only thing I don't like about it

from a spectator standpoint,

watching the stream,

it's hard to cover just because you're in

the middle of nowhere on a grass track.

You know, you need a good drone flyer,

and I'm not sure they had that.

Yeah, that's fair.

I mean, you could hear it.

You could hear the drone.

So I get that.

People were saying like, yo,

I can hear the drone.

Yeah.

I didn't care about it,

but I get it.

It's not, it's not perfect.

Right.

So I'm watching a little bit of this

event as it's going on.

Which one?

Tell me.

So it is, it's the two parter,

and the first part is an echo bike

and thruster and

Descending calories, increasing weight.

Or decreasing reps, increasing weight.

And then there is the box over shuffle,

which is a new movement into the sled

drag.

And then nine yoke squares.

And every three squares,

you have to add weight to the yoke.

So the Pat Vellner special,

we might get to see some rolling plates

if he can't hold on tight.

Yeah, that was great.

Hey, listen, watching Pat do the pig flip,

And the bar muscle-ups and watching him do

that event made that event awesome.

It was just...

My wife is super sick right now.

She is laying down, whatever.

But we definitely watched that event

together.

And we're definitely cheering for Pat

Villeneuve on that one because it was just

like...

yeah dude and then when uh sean and

uh chase were like hey daddy came home

to tell you what's up i was like

yeah yeah he did it was great story

time with uh grandpa pat i think yeah

it was awesome uh i'm glad he got

two wins in his final games at a

minimum

I'm glad that they put his kids on

the screen.

I'm glad that he got that moment to

look at his kids and talk about his

kids and talk about his family.

It was, uh, yeah.

Like if you're a fan and you've been

around for a minute, like that was cool.

It was really cool.

Yeah, I've,

I've told this story a couple of times,

but my,

one of my favorite moments in this

CrossFit world is Jamie's first every year

with my team.

We were at the West coast semifinal and

she tried to get an interview with Pat

and Pat said, well,

if you can keep up with me because

the athlete area was in another building

and Jamie's like, okay.

And so they're running down the street and

she's interviewing,

interviewing him as they're running.

And it was right after he had a

bad moment in an event.

And so a lot of people picked that

up.

Siobhan played it on his show.

And so it was really cool because it

was one of her first interviews.

I never saw it, but like that's, yeah,

that's very cool.

And for both of them, right?

Like it's cool for both of them.

Yeah.

Kenneth the Lap, I'm late.

And the first like.

Like and subscribe, people.

Support the show for free.

What the man said.

I'm sorry.

You were talking about the...

Don't get on my bad side here.

Ellie Turner is well-proportioned.

She is not thick.

Ellie Turner looks amazing.

The pig.

Amen.

She looks amazing.

I'm so happy for her.

I'm so happy for her.

With everything that she's gone through,

the back injury, all that stuff,

I'm just pumped for her.

I'm happy that she's happy.

She has had a roller coaster of a

week.

It's like a winning event, down an event,

winning event, down an event.

But it's her first time back after coming

back from a serious back injury.

The only one that hasn't had that is

Kringle.

Everybody else has.

Lucy Campbell.

I was so like me and Colleen were

talking.

It was like all our Lucy's like we've

like Lucy McGonigal, Lucy Campbell.

Like we're like, oh, no, what's happening?

Kringle is the only one that's like

there's no ups and downs.

Can we just address the elephant in the

room?

Sure.

This is a Tia dominant performance.

I wish she had the after the pig

flip one when she got interviewed.

I wish when they asked her like, hey,

you have five wins.

Tia has a record with nine wins.

How do you feel about that?

I wish she would have just been like,

yeah, I'm trying to get nine.

Like, I wish that's what she had said.

I mean, but this is cool.

This is fun.

Good time.

The new generation.

Tia won nine at the twenty twenty ranch

games with four other people.

What's Tia?

And I don't know this.

And maybe Holly Dugan,

if you're listening,

you can find this out for us.

But what is Tia's record in a full

field?

Because Amy's doing this with a full

field.

She looks... Like, I... Like,

me and my wife were like, hey, look.

Hey, someone... Like,

she's going to hit an event.

Like, someone stop her.

Someone... Whatever.

Someone's going to... Like,

Lucy's going to go ham.

Anybody's going to go ham.

And then nobody did.

And she's just winning shit.

So...

She's legit as far as I'm concerned.

So I sparred with Vicky today by text

for a good half hour because she thinks

that if Tia came back,

she would dominate again.

I don't think so.

Now, I'm not saying she won't win,

but I'm saying that Kringle would give her

everything

She could, and it would be an epic,

epic battle.

This Amy,

I think she's in that league with Laura

and Tia.

She beat Laura at WFP already this year.

Oh, careful.

That's a big medal to throw on her.

We've done that.

People did it with Hatfield.

This people didn't.

No, I know.

Listen, I know.

I'm just saying that's a big something big

to throw on her.

I'm not saying I don't look at her

and I look at her shoulders and I

look at her biceps and I look at

her swagger and I don't think it.

I definitely think it.

I'm just, I don't know.

He's winning this event,

this heat right now as well.

Is she really?

So Austin Hatfield never even went to the

games when people were putting that on

him.

Okay.

Amy Kringle is winning by a hundred and

forty points.

And the top three have separated

themselves by over two hundred points from

the rest of the field.

I get it.

Yep.

I like I like her.

I think it's.

Oh, Kenneth,

she looks like she's coming off a long

day slinging sandwiches.

Yeah, bro.

Yeah, I work.

I'm going to come off tomorrow too.

Long day slinging sandwiches.

Probably roast beef.

But like, yeah, I definitely, I'm a fan.

We all had to say like, hey,

like this girl's,

she showed up for this test and she

is really good at this freaking test and

she was ready and other people weren't.

But Amy Kringle, she's fun.

How many different things have been thrown

at them in the last three days?

Right.

She has answered the bell on every single

one of them.

I was thinking if it was a regular

games,

fourteen events or thirteen events would

probably be it.

Like she's done.

She won.

You know what I mean?

Sprague won.

But it's the twentieth year,

twenty events.

Wild.

Watching the West Coast games on the East

Coast is wearing me out.

Traveling to the West Coast has rocked my

world.

I haven't been right since I got here.

How has the time change been for you?

I'm...

flat out to it's been awful because like

meg and joseph are about ready to like

i think they're running on d-four and like

what like they're about to pass out too

yeah i mean i've got a ghost in

my hand just to get through tonight like

it's close to my bedtime now and they're

still going

I yeah, me too.

And I have to work at like,

six a.m.

tomorrow.

So let's go.

Let's do it.

Scott left his third Z at home with

his pocket jerky.

I did leave the pocket jerky at home,

but I did not forget my third Z

because without a good night's sleep and

recovery, I can't be jazzy,

which gets you for fifteen percent off at

checkout.

Thursday.com backslash Jazzy.

Thank you, Kenneth, for the segue.

Lucy is actually winning the event now.

Campbell.

Lucy Campbell.

Let's go.

Kringle is down by four reps.

She's in third place after the last one.

So where's Emma Lawson?

Can you see her?

Second.

Oh, they're right together.

Yeah, it's Campbell in first,

Lawson in second, Kringle in third,

Gazan in fourth.

Right now.

Oh, no.

All right, Lucy needs help.

Do you think, but no way.

No, no, no.

I mean, between her and Emma Lawson, not,

I'm not even counting Kringle at this

point, but like,

if she wants to get that second spot

back, she needs people.

Do you think she can though?

Like Emma Lawson,

isn't Emma Lawson like twenty two?

Yep.

Yeah.

Uh, they just put up brain.

I'm just like, yo, my joint,

like their joints just work better.

Yeah.

It's a point difference between Lawson and

Campbell and Kringle's up by one over

Lawson.

And then it's a deep drop off after

that.

Yeah.

Third to fourth is basically almost a

hundred points.

It almost looks like Amy Kringle is just

taking the...

As long as I stay close to these

two, they're never going to catch me.

That's really what it looks like right now

when she's on the floor.

I would.

But she never gives up, though.

She doesn't have to win events.

I mean,

she didn't have to win the last event.

She didn't have to win the sprint.

And she just keeps winning anyway.

So, obviously, she...

You know what I mean?

She's not thinking that way.

So she's got.

So Kringle is going to take third in

this event.

Emma and Lucy took first and second.

And they've gained a whole three points on

her.

And she does not care.

She's going to go to sleep,

like tucked in happy,

not even thinking about it.

Yeah.

Yeah.

That's amazing.

It's funny.

Go ahead.

I was just going to say that's some

Tia Toomey.

That's some Tia Toomey shit.

I will say this.

I think that Tia wanted to win everything.

She never played it safe.

But I think that is the little bit

of difference between the two of them

where Tia wants to win everything she can,

every single event,

where I think Amy's right now at a

point where I'm just going to cruise to

the end.

Hey, man, your first game, like, look,

remember when Tia first won?

She won by two points against Kara

Saunders.

Like it's she Tia couldn't let off the

gas.

This is Kringle's first, like, Hey,

I have the leaders Jersey and I'm over

a hundred points above everybody else.

Like that's basically like a baseball game

with a mercy rule.

Like just chill.

You know what I mean?

KDL says that T is afraid to go

up against Kringle.

Or that he doesn't think Tia's coming

back.

I may have misinterpreted it just a little

bit.

KDL has fun takes on things.

Very fun.

This was part of my argument with Vicky

about this.

I think Tia's in a place in her

life where she can't give a hundred

percent to her training.

I don't know, dude, if you saw her,

I forget where,

which behind the scenes I saw it on,

whether it was CrossFit or seven or

whoever, but when she was like, Hey,

I had to not do the open just

to make sure that I wouldn't try to

make the games.

I didn't say her competitive fire would go

away.

I'm saying she has two kids.

She's a mom and she loves being a

mom.

When she was dominant, dominant,

she didn't have any responsibilities other

than herself and her training.

I don't know.

I think if she wants it,

she's going to come back.

She's going to get it.

She doesn't give a crap.

And she doesn't care how post-birth she

is.

I think if she wants to do it,

she'll come back.

She'll do it again.

I have no...

No, I don't.

I would not bet against her.

Dang it.

I didn't want to side with Scott,

but I guess I am.

Hey, you know, look, after you give birth,

all of you guys have heard about it.

Once you give birth,

you get all those mommy hormones.

You get stronger.

It's like, hey, look, there's weight.

There's weight.

We'll see.

So here's the conspiracy theorist in me.

And there was a scene in one of

the behind the scenes where Tia and Amy

Kringle are off by themselves having a

chat.

How much do you want to bet that

Amy Kringle becomes a proven athlete?

Where's she at now?

I don't even know.

So she's with Brute,

but it was like her old coach wasn't

with Brute and they merged.

So then she became Brute,

even though she's not really, I guess.

This is going to be such my girl

take on this, but like if...

Um, if Tia wants to retire,

I could see it happening.

Like I would, I would be like, yeah,

okay.

She's going to go to proven and she's

going to be whatever, just,

just because I'm proximity bias and she's

winning everything right now.

Um, if Tia wants to come back,

I think it was just a fun conversation

and they were chilling,

hanging out and hanging out.

This is actually a great analogy for

Kenneth.

She's a brute athlete the way Vellner is

an HWPO athlete.

And I wouldn't put it past proven to

recruit not only her, but her coach.

Yeah, why not?

Dude,

if you're Kiefer and Kyra were both

recruited over at the same time.

Why not?

If you're ruling the world.

why wouldn't you and you have the like

we've been saying all weekend how cool

nick johnston is like i would like if

i was an athlete i would literally go

to proven just for nick johnston he's the

coolest dude he's the nicest dude he just

like i yeah i don't know how you

don't nick is probably my first

like CrossFit famous friend that I made in

the space.

And he is incredible,

an incredible human being.

And I met him when he was just

Taylor's husband.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

He wasn't even the CEO of Proven or

a coach at Proven at the time.

Which is wild because they are so,

like their temperaments are crazy.

I don't know how they're compatible,

but they are.

And that's what I mean.

Like they're both like Nick is so just,

Hey, let's talk.

Let's like, he's just so cool.

Taylor is so, I don't know.

I don't know how you don't go there.

If you want to go somewhere,

like I really don't.

So Lucy Campbell just won the second half

of this event,

but Amy Kringle took second.

Yeah.

She's got it.

His wife is pretty fit.

And she's a freaking like

I don't know.

Do you know what she does as a

job?

Yeah, she's a...

She's like an emergency room nurse at a

correctional facility.

She's like a high-level nurse you can be.

She can write prescriptions.

She can do way up there.

It's insane.

They're insane.

They're so cool.

Alex Kazan looks like someone hit her with

a baseball bat in the hip.

What?

I thought, okay,

so she was fifth place after the snatch.

Fifth place after the snatch.

Speed ladder.

But she, I guess she took eighth.

It didn't matter because she looked like

she was going to lift anything.

And she looked pissed.

Well, that's someone's yoke pin fell out.

Wait for the women.

Yeah.

It was laying in Elisa Fuliano's lane.

But I don't know if it's hers or

not.

Someone's going to be mad.

What heat are we in?

What heat?

This is the final women's heat.

And it's over.

The men still have to go.

Do you think someone's going to protest or

put in a look at this?

I didn't see where it was missing.

I just saw one laying on the floor.

Uh-oh.

So each side has two pins,

so maybe it didn't adjust because the

second pin was there?

There.

As you were asking me that,

they showed Lucy Campbell running with it,

and you could see one pin on top,

one on the bottom on each side.

Oh, hey, did you see the post?

How did you feel about this?

Did you see the post that Hillary put

up about Lucy Campbell getting away with

like doing double unders instead of triple

unders?

So that was a triple under on the

video.

And I think he was he was saying

to the comment section.

You didn't watch closely enough and he

slowed it down and you could see the

three.

OK.

So he was defending Lucy.

I wasn't sure how it was going.

And because that that was another topic in

our chat.

And and yeah,

we watched there's three rotations for

sure.

But her having to do singles was rough.

I mean,

Again, that workout for,

for my Lucy's was so sad.

Like I was so sad.

I was sad for McGonagall.

I was sad for Lucy Campbell.

I was just like, oh man, damn.

Like rooting for people.

But I, I just,

I didn't know where he was going with

that.

And I was just like, I,

I thought I saw a triple unders,

but maybe like, I'm not a level one.

I'm not whatever.

So maybe I don't know.

I'm just trying to figure it out.

uh how is jamie's at jamie after running

into a road sign i think it was

a it was a lamp post kenneth and

she seems to be doing okay she's still

here she's coaching a teen athlete it was

fun watching her i definitely saw her on

the masters it was fun watching the

masters i enjoyed it i wish you wouldn't

have got hurt on the first event but

i know

And then, you know,

we have a champ on the Sunday Night

Show now with Carolyn Prevost.

Yeah.

Crushed it.

Yeah.

And then did you see her video where

she went to Vendor Village and did the

deadlift challenge?

No.

Did she win it?

I'm sure she did.

What was how many unbroken deadlifts she

could do?

She did eighty three.

Didn't she win that at Rogue?

Didn't she do it at Rogue and won

that?

Yeah, most deadlifts in a minute, I think.

Don't mess with Carolyn.

Especially on a deadlift.

That's awesome.

Win the games and then go to Vendor

Village and take the civilians' money too.

Can I say something controversial?

I love the fact that Flow Elite is

giving out extra money for the performance

of the day.

Yeah.

Have you seen, you saw that?

Yes.

Colton got it.

Yeah, I've seen it.

Yeah, I've seen their post.

And they're doing it in the Masters,

the Teams, the Teams, and the Adaptives.

The Masters that won that,

almost all of them podiumed,

meaning they won money anyway.

Yeah.

Like,

can't we find – there's only four hundred

other athletes.

We can't find someone that was gritty that

day that didn't win any cash?

Am I being too, like,

soft in my old age?

Like,

Jason Grubb winning performance of the day

after winning seven times –

And getting like first place podium money

seven years in a row.

And he's one of the few sponsored masters

athletes.

He doesn't need that.

Seven hundred fifty bucks.

Is it the performance of the day or

is it not?

If it's the performance of the day,

then whether he won however much money,

however many times doesn't matter.

It's supposed to be the grittiest

performance of the day.

Okay.

So Jamie runs into a lamppost and finishes

the games.

What's more gritty just winning for the

seventh time or finishing the games with

blood coming out of your elbow.

Oh,

so then we're talking about what's the

definition of the grittiest performance of

the day.

Yeah.

That's what, yeah.

Okay.

All right.

That's fair.

Um,

Yeah, I'll go Jamie.

Definitely go Jamie.

I would go that, who's that?

There was a behind the scenes where an

athlete got hit in the face with a

barbell and her nose was like completely

busted and it was like black and blue

and like whatever.

Like if you go out and perform with

that, like, yeah, I'll give you prettiest.

Sure.

I guess it just depends on what your

definition of that is.

Yeah.

I mean, it's subjective.

I get it.

It is what it is.

I would have given it to James Hobart

all weekend.

I would have just been like, yeah,

James Hobart gets grittiest performance of

the day all weekend just because he was

shirtless and doing his thing.

It's so subjective.

It was like they picked the names

everybody knew.

instead of because there are tons of

athletes and i like jason grubb i talk

to him all the time but there's a

ton of other athletes that won too if

you just want to go with the winners

that didn't get the money that's right i

get it i don't know just seemed like

too easy lazy

I get what you're saying.

You want to,

you want the names of people that are

not known to be known and start to

have like traction in the space.

And I get that.

And we, we all want that too.

Like, I mean, I feel like, like,

I think that they will probably just do

those,

the names that they know because it's the

names we know.

or they think we know kind of,

you know what I mean?

Like it,

they spent an entire time doing the

masters athletes and they're like,

they literally were just showing people

changing their ways.

Like they weren't show like,

you know what I mean?

And I'm not mad.

I it's fine.

You're figuring it out.

It's your first year, slowly, whatever.

Fine.

I'm not going to,

But, yeah,

I want to see Noah Olsen and Scott

Pantic race.

I want to see James Hobart do his

thing.

I want to see Becca Voigt.

I want to see Carolyn Prevost.

I don't want to see random people changing

their weights.

Like, I get it.

I understand it.

I think it's more this, right?

How do you build a sport when you

just keep focusing on the same five people

all the time?

That doesn't build the sport.

It's just lifting up the five people that

are already being lifted up.

And that's when I said I had boys

interrupted fatigue.

It wasn't about the boys interrupted.

I love those guys.

It's about that CrossFit only knew their

phone number to call them and come do

the cool shit.

Yeah.

And make a video about it.

When there's a ton of other athletes they

could have brought in and they would have

done the cool shit.

And maybe we will you get four more

fans or.

Yeah, no.

Yeah, I'm completely there with you.

I want to.

It's been really fun for us because of

the amount of.

like getting to know people that we've

done recently.

And so watching all of the heats has

been awesome because we know people in all

of the heats.

So yeah, I get what you're saying.

It's way more.

Lucy McGonigal is one of your favorites.

You mentioned it at the top of the

show.

She's not in the contention for the games.

Nope.

but I want to see how she does

and I care.

And like, yeah, yeah, you're right.

And so if we did stuff with her

to promote her a little bit more,

here's the best example, right?

Last year in Europe, Lucy,

Lucy Campbell became this,

the chosen child to market.

She took second at the games.

She deserves, deserves some of that.

Amy Kringle got nothing.

What's going to happen when these games

are over?

It is going to be full-on market push

on Amy Kringle,

and I bet you Lucy Campbell gets lost

in the shuffle again.

Where was, but no, tell me,

because now I really want to know,

where was Amy Kringle?

Like when Lucy Campbell got what she got,

where was Amy Kringle?

She was, I think, top ten, like ninth.

Okay.

Right.

But nobody wanted to pay attention to Amy

Kringle.

And now, yeah,

now they're going to media push her.

And let's be real.

She's the new Katniss Everdeen.

Can,

can you and I be real about this?

Yeah.

Amy Kringle is the most marketable person

to ever walk into this competition.

Hell yeah.

Like from a looks perspective,

from a personality perspective, like,

Now from a champion perspective,

she should blow up after this.

Put her on a Wheaties box.

Legit.

A Kringle Crunch box.

Captain Kringle.

Let's go.

Yeah, absolutely.

She absolutely should.

I mean, they will.

A good business would have seen her last

year.

And all the improvements she was making.

And jumped on that train a year ago.

Oh, man, I disagree with you on that.

Just just a little bit,

because we say that with a lot of

people.

We said it with Ricky.

We said it with and not that Ricky

isn't fantastic.

Like Ricky is marketable.

I'm just talking about winning.

She didn't even have to win.

She was marketable.

Oh,

so you're saying even if she hadn't had

the leader's jersey all weekend,

they still should have marketed her a year

ago?

Yes.

Okay.

Yes.

One, I think she has a great personality.

I think she's fun to talk to.

She looks great.

CrossFit should have been on that

bandwagon early.

Okay.

I don't know if you can tell that

early.

I mean, you couldn't tell.

She didn't have to win.

She doesn't have to win.

You're trying to market your sport.

You're trying to get new viewers to the

sport.

Oh, yeah.

I'm not good at that.

My whole thing is like, hey,

you have to like the people that are

the athletes, right?

Or at least you have to be invested

in them, even if you don't like them,

right?

You want to watch to not... Like,

I didn't like Michael Jordan when he was

beating the Knicks in the

Here's a good analogy for you.

I'm a Chicago Bears fan,

diehard Chicago Bears fan.

We haven't won shit in forty two years,

forty three years.

I'm still a diehard Chicago Bears fan

invested in every player.

Because I fell in love with that team.

You can market people that never,

ever win the games and people will love

them.

Colton, Colton has never won the games.

People invest in him and they market him

and look what he's done with it.

He's started his own business.

He raises wiener dogs.

But he's been in this game for a

while in the media.

He's been working really hard for this.

Like it's not,

I haven't seen Kringle in the media like

that.

You got to be given opportunities.

Okay.

But that is that the fault of CrossFit

or is that the fault of outside media?

Who's not interviewing her.

Who's not putting her,

who's not looking at her.

Who's not like CrossFit doesn't their

media is like, Hey, let's,

fire up whoever they kind of look to

outside media and then fire up whoever

outside media is excited about.

But if I,

but if I've already seen it on outside

media,

why do I care when you put it

up?

Well,

the point is if they're on outside media

and they're popular and outside media,

like everybody's like,

we all love Colton because we found him.

Like he feels like he's grassroots.

He feels like he's one of us.

I don't know.

Maybe I'm wrong.

I just think that Colton found outside

media, outside media propped him up,

and then CrossFit jumped on the bandwagon

of it.

He didn't have it to start with.

I'm going to say something.

Kenneth will jump off now.

I have Colton fatigue.

Every chat I have,

stuff about Colton is in the chat.

I want to talk about some of the

other athletes.

Colton is one of my best friends in

the space.

Love that dude.

Love him to death.

Want him to win.

If he won, I would be ecstatic.

But I've heard all of his stories now

because he's been on everything.

Just like the boys interrupted now.

We have the same four people on

everything.

And then they started it with Lucy

Campbell.

Can't we focus on some other athletes that

are awesome?

Emma Lawson.

I don't know much about her at all.

Oh, they're going to make me talk about.

Okay, fine.

We're being super.

She doesn't go on podcast, dude.

She's not on podcasts.

It's her agent.

Her agent doesn't do anything to promote

athletes.

Listen, hey, she doesn't go on podcasts.

We don't know anything about her because

she doesn't go on them.

We know a shit ton about Colin and

he can promote whatever.

He can promote dogs and soap and all

that stuff because he goes on podcasts and

he got good at it.

And the boy is good at it.

He's really good.

So is his wife now.

Like Allie is very good at it.

And all these boys have started to get

media trained.

That's what I was talking about when Amy

Kringle kind of like, she got her shine.

She got, I was like, Ooh,

it's going to be a minute,

but she's going to get media trained.

She's going to start to know what the

space is.

And then she's going to start to talk.

and figure out her niche.

Colton earned it.

The Boys Interrupted earned it.

The Girls Unfiltered, their thing,

I don't know.

I might have mixed them up,

but they earned it.

Colton was made by the Savant Podcast.

I do agree with this to some extent.

Yeah, Colton went on podcasts,

but it wasn't until Savant gave him shit

and then Colton got better.

Colton decided,

I want to be better at this.

And then he did what he needed to

do to make it.

And again, I'm not hating on Colton.

I love Colton.

I just, I want to see,

I want to learn about other athletes.

I get it.

I want to learn about the Quinn Robinsons.

You know, I love Quinn.

Quinn's amazing.

Quinn's funny as shit.

Right.

CrossFit HQ needs to take steps into some

other athletes.

That's all I'm saying.

But go back to – you're an old

addict, an OG addict.

Road to the Games.

We learned so much about so many different

athletes because Road to the Games went

from place to place,

and they took gambles on who might make

it to the Games.

And then the people that didn't,

some of those were the best stories.

And you still know who Brooke Ence is.

You still know that Josh Bridges didn't

make it.

I still know Tia Wright,

and she never made anything ever because

of those road to the games.

Now our road to the games are already

established athletes.

That's fine.

I would argue that I think that CrossFit

is trying to build again and their media

is trying to get back on its feet

again.

I think they're trying to get the most

bang for their buck, right?

So they're going to put out the athletes

that everybody knows and wants to see and

is going to get the most clicks and

views.

I understand that.

I also,

I think that's why we talk to the

people that like,

and we build up the people that we

want to see because we are the fans.

We are the media.

We are,

and we find the people that we want

to see.

If we want to talk to a Quinn

Robinson or we want to talk to a,

you know,

Lucy McGonigal or someone of the ones

that's not propped up like that,

like we do that.

And that's what we do.

And CrossFit always finds a way,

eventually.

I hope so.

And now, I mean...

I think this is a good discussion,

and I... I love it.

I value your opinion.

And I think Fergie makes a good point.

Like,

I think CrossFit is afraid to show

failure.

And when they showed the failure of Brooke

and Josh...

It pulled at your heartstrings.

And that's probably the most memorable

road to the games ever made.

And it was two people who failed to

make the games.

It wasn't just them, though.

It was Brooke.

It was Josh.

It was Lindsay Valenzuela.

There was one with Sam Briggs when she

didn't make it.

And yeah, it did.

But that's what made CrossFit relatable.

And then what happened the following year

when they were going forward again,

you were rooting for those individuals

because you saw that they failed.

You saw what they went through.

And now you were more invested in them

the following year.

Yep.

Yep.

Absolutely.

Absolutely.

I know you have to get up early,

so I don't want to keep you too

long.

Yeah, no, no.

Let's go.

And there's a ton of stuff to watch.

I'm going to have to go back on

Flow Elite and watch all of the... It's...

I just glanced out of the side of

my eye and thought Heinrich Heipelainen

was wearing a singlet, but he was not.

It was just all blue.

Wait,

were they supposed to wear the singlet for

the snatch speed ladder?

I know what he did.

Nick Matthew did.

i'm so mad and he won the first

heat and sean said that's what you call

big nick energy and i was like that

is a freudian slip waiting to happen

Oh, my God.

This has been really cool.

I love this year.

I think it's been fun, regardless of,

like,

whatever back and forth you want to go

through about this year.

It's been fun,

and it's watching everybody be happy and

just, like, it's been cool.

It has.

And this game has been really,

really good.

You can see on the stream now,

the arena is pretty full,

which is awesome.

And hopefully this is the start of

something new.

Bruce has been in the arena.

Bruce has been handing out checks.

He's been involved.

And I hope that means that we see

some really good change in the coming

months.

Will you,

will you be there all day tomorrow?

When are you leaving?

Okay.

I'm going to be there all day tomorrow.

And then I'm taking a red eye.

Overnight.

Yeah.

How fast is that?

How fast does a red-eye get you home?

Well, it's not any faster.

It just means you leave at like midnight.

Oh, okay.

And I'll get home at like ten in

the morning.

Gotcha.

I don't know.

I just want to know because I only

know what JetBlue is.

You know what I'm saying?

Yeah.

I'm just flying Delta,

but it's an overnight flight.

They call it a red eye because you

don't get much sleep.

Gotcha.

But then I get to sleep in my

own bed before I have to go back

to work on Tuesday.

Awesome.

Well, I can't wait.

I'll text you.

I want to know.

Fergie said, and then Chase said,

waste up camera shots only when Nick was

out in a singlet.

When he first showed up in a singlet,

Chase goes, he just went quiet.

And Sean goes, oh, my gosh,

if you could see the look on Chase's

face.

And Chase said,

it's the first time in my broadcasting

career I had to hit the edit button

real hard in my head.

I would have to.

There's no way.

It's like, yeah, no,

I would say something.

But when Austin Hatfield,

that picture of Austin Hatfield coming out

in his singlet, like, yeah, dude,

I'm going to make inappropriate jokes

because it's funny.

Yeah.

Awesome.

Well, this has been fun.

We'll have to do this some more in

the future.

Yeah, let's do it.

I love it.

And have a good night's sleep and make

some good sandwiches in the morning.

Yeah, I will.

Roast beef, Kenneth, the lap.

All right, guys,

have a good night and we'll see you

next time.

Lunch with the Glasgow.

You wouldn't wait to get to the editing

room to jazz me up.

I'm already jazzy.

Love's with the Clydesdale cowboy in the

saddle.

Love's with the Clydesdale cowboy in the

saddle.

Talking to reps,

real life strength in the battle.

From the gym to the screen, yeah,

we cover it all.

Midday motivation every time you press

call.
