Dino Music (00:00)
What is going on guys and welcome back. This is the process of becoming my name is Dino and I am missing my very beautiful Co -host with me today because he actually decided to you know, just kind of take like vacation spend time with the family You know do those kind of things which I'm kind of upset about because I didn't get an invite but that's okay Because I'm glad that man is out there actually having fun spending some time with his family
because that dude works his ass off. So today you guys just got me and if you guys remember last episode we talked about speaking on the subconscious. That is not what I'm going to be doing today because I do need my other other set of eyes and ears and my other half to help me out with that piece. So today what we're going to do guys is I'm going to drop a little bit of a quick heavy hitter and it's just some of the things I've been thinking about. So I hope.
You guys find value in this and as always if you do please share the show Pass it along. You know someone who can take Information that we talk about topics that we cover and that could actually help them Because at the end of the day guys, that's all we do this for is just add value to the world make it a better place Help share our stories share things that we've learned along the way and you know make an impact So I'm excited guys And today you guys will notice the the title of the episode is called. Are you a superhero? Are you a villain?
The reason this is and I promise you this is not just based on us talking about movies or anything of that nature But this thought is based on a conversation I actually had a long time ago with one of my friends and I can't remember who exactly But the reason it sparked this was because I've been watching a new show guys. It's called Titans And it's based on like the DC Universe and by the way, I am NOT a big Like I know superheroes I understand who they are like but when it comes into the world of DC and I
You know Marvel and all that kind of stuff. I'm out of the zone there. So I'm just here Watching it watching it just like a fan would just you know enjoying the movie But as I was watching it the movie or actually it's a show but it's very real -life based, right? It's not like cartoon animated all that kind of stuff, but it got me really thinking about this and you know, it's a conversation I remember like I said having with one of my friends and the conversation was what's really the difference between a superhero and a villain? And when you break it down
They're actually very similar. And what I mean by this is each one of them become a superhero or a villain based on the view they have of what happened to them, the people in their life that hurt them or did good for them. And it's all based on their experience, right? And it's kind of crazy when you think about it, because at the end of the day, the true difference of being someone who's out there saving the world, doing good things, or being the person that's doing the complete opposite is just based on the view you have.
of what's happened to you, the story that you create within yourself, and just the perspective of the world that you have. And I think it's really interesting because it makes you kind of question like, you know, like how does that happen in the first place and where does it start? And really it's how you interpret and filter what happened to you or the situation in your life, right? Because at the end of the day, and we know this, right? There's examples of this with people who have, you know, been dealt like the worst possible hand in the world.
But then somehow they just have this amazing perspective and they get through it and they're so humble and they're so confident and all these different things. And then you have someone who's gone through the same exact thing or very similar, but goes out on the complete opposite end. And it's like, how does this happen? And that filter is so important. And especially when you think about it from a superhero and villain standpoint, and oftentimes, man, I think we forget that we are one or the other. Right. And.
that as long as we're alive and as long as we have the ability to make choices every single day, we're choosing to go one side or the other, right? Now I'm not saying it's always black and white, you know, we're always gonna make mistakes, but guess what? Even superheroes make mistakes. Even the best in the world sometimes do the wrong thing. And I think it's just, and the reason I bring that up is because I don't want you guys getting hung up on that piece, right? Like it's not everything's black and white, but I think there is something very, very valid to this, right? Because every single day that we wake up,
we essentially get the opportunity to choose to be a superhero or a villain of our own life. And if we can wake up constantly and be able to switch that view, I think there's a lot of potential for us becoming the person that we want to be through that process. And it's kind of exciting, right? Because I think all of us want to be a superhero at one point or look up to the superheroes, whether they be in our own lives or whether they actually be like the supermans or the batmans or whatever. But you can be your own superhero today.
And you can be someone else's superhero today. And I think that's the most important piece of this entire topic is what are you choosing to be today and for who, right? Are you, are you thinking about yourself? Are you letting, you know, maybe some struggles that you're having, are you letting things in your life affect you that to the point where you're not going out and being a light to others, where you're not going out and making a difference in your life, doing the right thing, making a positive impact in the world, you know, and really paying attention to those things because it's,
You know, the ones that you choose the most of every single day is the one that you're going to get, right? It's like the best comparison to this. And I always think about it this way. And this is how I usually teach my teams. But it's like, think about having a dog, right? And you have a positive dog and you have a negative dog. Well, whichever one you feed more is the one that's going to grow. It's the one that's going to be stronger. It's the one that's going to take over. It's the one that's going to run the show. And when you think about it that way, it's what deposits are you making? So which dog are you feeding constantly?
You know, and when you make that choice to constantly feed that positive dog, watch what happens to your life. You know, and when I say this and, you know, me and Josh talk about this often, but just because thinking positive doesn't necessarily mean everything is going to just go the way you want it to. But when you get constantly make the choice to think in a positive way and make positive decisions, it doesn't mean you're going to run away from all the uncontrollable bad things that can happen. Right. Those things happen.
but what does what it does for you is actually prepares you for those moments and actually gives you the ability to see the opportunity within them. Right. You know, I've had a lot of friends in my life and a lot of people and I'm sure you guys have plenty. And as I say this, you guys can most likely think of a person in your life, but think about a person that you maybe had hope in or you saw that was going to do something great one day or, you know, just had very high hopes in life and.
you know, let's say a bad situation happened to them, they made a bad mistake or, you know, someone in their life passed away, whatever the case may be, you kind of can see them change completely and almost cap their ceiling. And I'm sure you guys, like I said, have an example of this, you know, but I've seen this happen to so many people in life, right? Where they get hit with one bad situation and it completely changes their mindset. And it's kind of sad to see, man, because it's, you know, when you think about it, it's like, yeah, I totally get it.
Right? You get why someone would hang up on a situation that, you know, is terrible or bad, whatever. Like you understand where it comes from, but you're like, dude, I see more potential in you and you can't let this one situation hold you down. But when you think about it, how often do we let that happen? You know, I bring this example up and now it's a little extreme, but imagine how often we do this with every little thing in our day, right? From even the basis of like making our bed. You know, when you skip that, when you skip out on making your bed, for example,
You're telling your brain, you're like, all right, we don't need to do this. We don't need to pay attention to the standard. And that's also like feeding the dog. Right. And I, and I bring this up because it's, you never want to let these moments in your life take control over you. Right. Like there's going to be times where you're going to make mistakes. There's going to be times that things happen where you cannot control it, but being positive doesn't mean you're perfect. It doesn't mean everything goes your way. It means being able to decide and think through things and still finding the light, no matter what happens or what the situation is.
And I hope that all makes sense, guys. Sorry to kind of go about it a couple different ways, but I bring that up because, you know, just because I think oftentimes we think when we're positive, when we're happy, when we're all these things, everything needs to be perfect. And that's not the case. Positivity and being able to look for the light is a choice constantly, even in the darkness, right? It's that's the ability, you know, like think about even going back to the superhero and the supervillain example.
Superheroes get hit with a lot of dark shit and bad situations. But think about how they go through them all the time. It's still being able to find the light and still being able to do the right thing no matter how hard the decision is. And really, that is the comparison to life. And when you think about this whole example of superheroes, super villains, that's what that means. It's not that life is going to go perfect, but it's being able to choose the right things at all times at the best that you can be or the best decision you can make at those times.
But that is going to be the ultimate key to success and just living the life that you truly want. and I wrote a couple of things down to, to, to go about this the right way guys, because, you know, I know it sounds cool talking about like, yeah, we can be this and we can be that and we can't, right. But it's, it's a lot easier said than done, you know, and, there's, there was something I actually wrote up this, this weekend. I was thinking about it was in my notes and it's still very much in line with this conversation that we're having or the topic of conversation we're having.
But when you think about training or that word training or working out or, you know, practice, right? We typically think about sports. We think about working out. We think about reading. We think about these things, but we think about them in a, in an intentional time block, right? Where it's essentially setting aside time in my day to go do this for a couple hours to, to get better, get stronger, whatever case may be, right? To essentially improve.
But one thing I think we forget about often is that we're actually practicing and working out and training 24 hours a day or not really 24 hours, but the hours that we are awake. Right. What I mean by that is every single thought that's constantly running through our head is training us in some way, shape or form. Right. And again, this is how the superhero supervillains come out. Because if we don't control those thoughts, they can lead either to one good way or one bad way. And.
The biggest piece that I think we struggle with is being intentional with our training 24 seven. Now, obviously it's hard to be in control of your mind all the time, right? And that's not what I'm saying, but it's being able to pay attention to the thoughts that are happening in your brain 24 seven. And the reason being is because those thoughts are practicing training. They're like working out, right? And if you don't take them serious and if you don't put the right form, right? Intention into them, it could take over and it could lead you to the wrong way, you know? And...
Again, going back to how, you know, that it's a lot easier said than done, but start small, right? And starting to pay attention to the thoughts that happen in your day is one of the biggest ways to take control of truly your life and become the person that you want to become. And it starts with just literally paying attention. Pay attention to what you're saying, pay attention to what's happening, pay attention to your feelings and then choose from there which one you want. Right? Now, even with this, it is still harder said than done. Okay. But guys, it's constant practice.
You know, and this is something that I still practice every single day. and it's some days are easier than others. Some days are tougher than others. But the biggest thing with this is you got to practice, right? Because whether you choose to like it or not, you are practicing. And how I think about this is if I'm practicing regardless, why would I want to put out the wrong things and, you know, build a bad foundation from there? And then all of a sudden I end up completely different than where I want to go just because I chose not to focus on my training. So to say, right. And.
I want to kind of leave you guys with some of these pieces here, especially that last one, right? Because at the end of the day, guys, we're operating 24 -7. Well, essentially, we're not operating 24 -7. But the hours that we are alive, we are operating, we are training. And that's where the key is to all this. It's the key to being more present. It's the key to being a better parent. It's a key to building better relationships with the people around you.
It's the key to your career. It's the key to your personal success. It's a career to your personal development. It's paying attention to those thoughts and paying attention to the thoughts that feed you. And what I mean by feed you is give you the good, give you the things that are actually going to benefit you, that are going to help you, that are going to push you in the right direction compared to the thoughts that don't. And at the end of the day, guys, that's going to be the biggest piece that I would say is the starting point for a lot of us. And it's the thing that we're going to constantly be working on because it is the key foundation.
Right. It's, you know, obviously me and Josh work for a health nutrition, a high performance lifestyle brand, you know, and part of the thing that we do here is teach people about nutrition and health and, you know, training. Right. And one of the common pieces with that is, is understanding that it's not just a one time eight week challenge and you're done. It's a constant, you know, and that's kind of the beauty of it because it's constantly training and you know, it never ends, but because of that, you can always get better. Right. And how I look at this is very similar.
The thoughts that are in our own head is this is similar to taking care of our physical and mental health, right? If you're not training, if you're not doing those things every day, if you're not taking care of yourself every day, going to the gym, working out over time, you're going to go down the negative route, right? And being able to constantly put in those, put in the time, put in the hours, train the right way and put in that work and consistently do it for a long time. Your life starts to look way different, right? And it's, it's building blocks, you know, but I tie it into the fitness realm because
It is very similar, right? It's not a one -time thing and you guys are done. It's a constant, you know? And honestly, that's one of the hardest pieces for me to take away because I'm the guy that's like, hey, I want to get it done. Once I'm done, it's set in stone. It's there. But it doesn't work that way. It's like, if you don't use it, you lose it. And the funny part is it's constantly working whether we choose to want it or not. So choose to make it work for you and choose to pay attention.
to what's going on guys, because at the end of the day, if you can take control of your thoughts, you can take control of your actions. When you can take control of your actions, you can take control of the destiny and the direction that your life is going. And it all starts by just paying attention to what is going on in your head and then taking control of it. So guys, choose to be a superhero today. Okay. And really that's what I want to leave you guys with. And this is maybe a topic that Josh and I could dive a lot more into, but it's something I just want to throw out because,
You know, I think it's a unique perspective of life, but at the end of the day, it's we are either a superhero or a villain or we're choosing the direction to go down those routes. OK, so choose to be a superhero and do the right thing today, because at the end of the day, you are creating your life at every second, every moment. And it all starts by paying attention to your thoughts and taking control of those. So, guys, if you found value in this, like I said, share the show. It means the world to us. But at the end of the day, you know, if there's any questions, anything that you guys need.
You know, please ask us, you know, if there's things that we could be doing better, if there's things that you guys want to hear more about, please let us know because we're open at the end of the day, guys, we do this all for you. There's no monetary value that we're looking for out of this. It's truly just to change the world and help each other get better and, you know, find a community and be supportive of one another through this journey. So especially because life is long and it's a never ending process. But I love you guys. Thank you for tuning in as always.
We will be back with another more of a long length episode coming up. But just want to wrap this up guys and give you a little quick hitter for today. And again, remember, be a superhero. I love you guys. Peace.
