Hey there and welcome back to another episode of the Contagious Victories podcast. I’m Victoria B. Glass, your host and today I’m going to build you up and reignite your creative spark!

We’re going to explore the world of content creation, and how to rediscover the content creator inside of you. I’ll teach you how to take steps towards building an audience that not only loves to listen to you, but is compelled and intrigued by your content. But before we dip into that, I want to remind you something: you are extraordinary. You truly are!

In case you’ve forgotten that I’m right here in your earbuds, telling you that your point of view is unlike any other in the world, and you are rare like a diamond. Today, I’m going to help you amplify that through your content. so get your notepads out and let’s enhance your social media presence!

Creating compelling content is a struggle for everyone. Whether you’re a beginner or you’re an expert in the content creation field, creating something authentic that resonates with people isn’t easy! So when you find it, just know it’s gold and it’s truly unique and special to make something that not only connects with other people, but that connects with who you are.

So where do we start when it comes to creating some thing that is truly special like that? Well, it’s by being confident. We have to show up both confidently and curious. And that starts by being self-aware. Know your strengths and your weakness, your quirks and your unique selling points. When you’re authentic, you’ll naturally radiate confidence. And when you’re curious, you’ll naturally stumble across the topics and the ideas that are compelling. Remember: Authenticity is a magnet that draws people in!

When you’re true to yourself you naturally exude confidence, so keep that in mind.
Also, authenticity is hella attractive!!

One of the big lessons in self awareness is knowing that there will be an evolution. So just go ahead and acknowledge that going into it! I know you’ve heard the saying “don’t compare yourself to others because you may be starting today and then they started years or months prior,” you know? When you show up, just acknowledge that there will be an evolution. When it comes to speaking to your audience you have to speak your truth and when you speak your truth, you also need to speak to the audience that you want to hit. Acknowledge where you are, acknowledge who is going to be listening and the pain points that they may have and also acknowledge the vision of where you wanna be, where they want to be and how far you’ve come. It’s all a big circle of evolution, so that’s what I mean by that.

When you show up and you’re talking to your audience, show up with a demeanor that says “I am not above you, nor am I under you, but I am with you. TOGETHER. And we are going through this evolution together.”

Don't be afraid to show your vulnerability. Share your experiences both successes and your failures. Authenticity resonates with people, allowing you to form a deeper connection with your audience. So, speak your truth, and speak to the audience that you want to hit, that you want to attract. And when they show up. Address their pain points.

When you learn it, it’s important to pass it along to someone else. I want to tell you a little story to give you an example of this. When I learned this lesson I was in Chicago at a conference and I was just an audience member. Another woman who was attending the conference, walked up to the mic, and you could tell she was eager to tell her story. She spoke with clarity into the mic and said that she once was on the custodial staff at the company which now she was the main face of.

One day someone who was in a position higher up than she was, reached out to her and asked her if she wanted to learn a trade, the trade that the company was famous for.

Of course the woman wanted to! she was on the custodial staff, and she loves doing that, but she wanted to move up in the world. So, the lady who held the position asked the woman to make a promise to her. She said, :I will teach you everything. I know if you promise to pass it on to another woman another person later on in life you could use that knowledge."

"Of course!" The lady said. So now hear this woman was years later 15 to 20 years later and she was speaking at a conference now an expert in her field, saying that the reason that you do things is not because you get the desk at the top of the tower but it’s because you get to reach back behind you and pull someone else up there for the view.

That is gold!

Teach someone something because it’s God’s work to help a sister or a brother out!

When you learn it it’s important to pass it along to someone else, that is true respect and that’s creating a relationship with your audience. You have to humanize it because it’s not a client relationship. It’s not even a host in listener relationship. It’s a long term friendship. THAT is what you are asking people to agree to when they hit that follow button or that subscribe button. You are taking a step into their own lives.

Don’t be afraid to get vulnerable. Don’t be afraid to share your experiences, both your successes and your failures, because authenticity resonates with people. It allows you to form a deeper connection in a way that makes him more than just your audience members, it makes them a friend.

Now this next tip should go without saying, but I am going to remind you: DON'T waste your audience’s time. There are expectations on both sides of the microphone and the camera so when you are making content remember… it’s a two-way street. If you want someone to leave a review or to comment on your post or share your video, then you have to nurture that relationship by providing entertainment, education or value. Remember what I said earlier about humanizing it.

Let me give you an example: at the TV station that I used to work at they would put out little promo commercials where the anchors and the host would say "thank you for inviting them in to the viewers home every single morning," so that was like a little reminder that the viewer is turning you on every day.
Don’t take that for granted because you have to think of it that way if you’re going to provide the kind of leadership that build a tribe consistent community.

My last tip is just to let God do what God does. Ask him to bring the right people into your life and pray that you are brought into theirs. That is how you find community through relationships with God and his people. He builds for communities we just have to be willing to let Him do what He does.

all right it’s time to wrap up this episode. I hope that you’re feeling inspired to revive your contact creation, skills, and motivated to reach out and start building those relationships with your audience members. Burture that relationship, it's important.

Remember that confidence is the secret ingredient to successful contact creation believe in yourself, embrace your individuality, and stretch your creativity to the fullest. If you feel like you gain valuable insights today and have it on your heart to say thanks and you can do so a few ways. It helps tremendously if you share the show with a friend or family member. Another way is by leaving a review.

Little actions like this go way beyond the short amount of time that it takes to do them, so that’s a good way that you can tell me thank you and thank you for coming back again and again, and giving me someone to connect with. You can talk back to me personally by reaching out to me on Instagram and I handle is @OnceUpona_Tori. I'll also link it below in the show notes. Until next time friends... Keep shining like the diamond only you are. Stay curious, confident, and creative!
