[00:00:00] My name is Chris Boyd, he/him. I'll be your dungeon master for this journey, joined by our wonderful pirate crew. Hi, I'm Kyle, he/him. I'm playing Tingus Pingus, also he/him. And, uh, just remember, the only difference between a good shot and a bad one is if it hits. Hey everybody, I'm Heather, she/they. I will be playing Cathara False today, also she/they.
Uh, tomorrow's my birthday, so, uh, hmm, find a way to send me money. Venmo's in the chat. Hi, I'm Maeve, she/they, and I play Riven, she/her. Um, and did you know that octopuses, octopi, have blue blood and three hearts, which is one more than the doctor, so that means they must be aliens. True. Facts are facts. It's true.
Hi, everybody. I'm Cameron. My pronouns are he/him. I'm playing Aldren Ziljor, pronouns also he/him. And I was so inspired, [00:01:00] um, by your snackle box last week that I went and thrifted my own- Yes. ... yesterday. So I now have a snackle box, so thank you for that. Snackle box dreams. Wonderful. So bust out a drink in your snackle box.
Last week, our crew was searching for treasure along with their captain while discovering a clearly warded section of stone that erupted after the captain used a spell scroll of, well, we're not really sure what, and many rocks fell. The crew was face to face with the crew of Pirate Queen Captain Scarlet in this dark cave, luckily saved with some degree of acrobatics [00:02:00] or wings, safely descending down.
Uh- Unbeknownst to the party, this cave-in killed Pirate Queen Captain Scarlett. Her crew, especially First Mate Mai, incredibly devastated, did their best to dig out Captain Scarlett, but unfortunately was not successful. Captain Mai has both sworn revenge, but also the fact that the revenge should be gotten by Captain Scarlett herself, and she will find a way to make that happen
The newly crowned pirate king, Captain Willman Fail. Due to killing the previous pirate [00:03:00] monarch Headed forward through this temple and dungeon in some hopes of finding some sort of treasure, and with some luck, the party was successful, hauling several chests of gold, jewels, silver back on to the Fromage.
And now the party is off safely on deck, heading to a pirate coronation accompanied by an original member of Captain Scarlet's crew, who is sworn fealty to the pirate crown itself as opposed to a singular captain. Good guy Tybalt. We join the party on deck just hoisting anchor. How are you all feeling?[00:04:00]
Well, at least it worked this time It's true. Uh, the, the, we didn't fail necessarily. I mean, we didn't get everything that we wanted, I guess, 'cause, 'cause magic items- Yeah ... and whatnot, but- We got treasure. We did. We get gold. Yes. And we get to pay everyone, and we got that bowl. Yes, the- Yes, the bowl ... the, the magic bowl, which there's- that Aldrin said was magical.
Yeah. And we protected the boy. What more could we have asked for? The matching set of bowls. The journal as well. Hey, whoa, whoa, the things I have. The... How do you know the bowl's from a set? It's a guess, a good guess. Just context clues, Captain. Ah. Yeah. I'll leave it to you. The doors were embossed with scales.
Hmm. Yes, they were. So one can infer there's a [00:05:00] matching set that could be used to create scales. If you say so.
Well The, uh, crew is increasingly excited that this was a successful journey. Have we, have we told them? Have we told- Should we tell them- Should- ... before we head in? I, probably. I don't know if that- Yeah ... should be, like, a- A surprise, we're going to a party. Surprise party. No. We know what the party we're going to.
Um, you wanna round the crew up and- Yeah, I, uh- ... give the news? Yeah, I, I specifically call all of the crew up onto the deck, and certainly not to the meeting conference room. 'Cause, I mean- Why? There's definitely too many people to fit in there. Yeah. And it's like, "All right, uh, so [00:06:00] men, we have some news. Um, you know what, Captain, do you wanna, do you wanna tell them the news?
I- it's your news." Hmm. Or should I? Yeah
Yes, you can. I'll be just behind you. What are you... She's gonna, like, turn to, like, kind of look at me, like, "Why are you gonna be behind me?" Showmanship. Oh, so you just kind of pop out and be like- You spoiled it now. It's fine. She's gonna stand in front of him. You spoiled it now. So, um, as you all know, uh, it is...
was a s- very successful, uh, quest out here. We recovered many chests of gold and jewels, which means, uh, more treasure for us, the great spirit of piracy. But one little thing, uh, kind of also happened. [00:07:00] Um, our captain is still going to be our captain, but he's now the Pirate King. And he pops out. And the crew is quiet for a second, then kind of starts cheering.
That's good. Good. Yay. Yeah. Yeah. Hooray. So we're gonna be heading back to where we just came from, uh, because we have a coronation to attend. Uh, one of the crew is like, "Wait, how did that happen?" Don't ask questions. Yep. Above your pay grade
While this is all happening, Riven, but like before the meeting happened, she goes up to the crow's nest and she just sits up there. Yeah. Yeah. That makes sense. I'm sitting under the crow's nest, like leaning against the mast. Solid. Yeah. All right then, that's all. Back to your, back to your stations. Hands in.
Piracy on three. One, two, three. Piracy. Piracy. All right.

Tybalt will approach the captain. Is anyone else standing near the captain? Probably. Always. All right. Wonderful. Um, but crow's nest and base of crow's nest. Yeah. Okay. Mm. Um, "Captain, I actually have a, a slight recommendation since we are heading for coronation." Where is your navigator? Well, Drin, your presence is required.
I walk over. Um, as they're walking over, excellent. Uh, so we've had for some time a contract for exclusive rum delivery rights for the Pirate Republic. Unfortunately, they have been slowing down slightly, but we are kind [00:09:00] of due for another delivery. I think we should pick it up on the way, as a coronation without enough will not go well.
Oh. Cheers-ing. Yeah. Right. Huzzahs. Yes. Uh, so I can just point it out on a standard sea chart with your navigator, uh, but that would be my recommendation. No, makes absolute sense if you... Th- if there's not enough, uh, back there, we should absolutely, uh, go ahead and take care of it and pick up the correct supplies.
How large of a shipment is it? Uh, large. Okay. Question for the DM. Mm-hmm. Does our ship have significant cargo space? Well, it's not filled with treasure, so yes. Oh, that's fair, yeah. Just a smidge. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Well, I also don't know, just generally speaking, how much cargo space we would have, so. Uh, even, even simply filling it as a pit [00:10:00] stop on the way would be helpful.

So, uh, Cathar, do you wanna... Or I guess it's more of a question for Aldrin. Do you need take Tybalt- Tybalt, do you navigate? Uh, I can. Do you need me to? Where is it on this, um, sea chart? Uh, do you ha- uh, yeah, if you go towards one. Uh, he, he will point it out. Hmm. I take out the protractor thing
And the compass, and I look at where the sun is, and I compare to the map that I have, and can I, can I make a survival check to see if I can figure out where I need to go? Yes. Okay. Oh, Riven's not near me. She can't guide me. Nope. Riven, [00:11:00] Riven's gone. Ooh, 21. Oh, hey. Picking it up. 21. Ah, yes. Yep, you've got it.
Okay. Um, I will walk over kinda somberly to the, uh, wheel and just take it up and stand there. I do leave Saja at the base of the, uh, the mast. Okay. She does not come with me. Uh, Tybalt will let you know it should be about a day and a half
All right, cool We set sail ... uh, we, yeah, we set sail. Get going. Perfect. Yeah. Head out. You do have a bit of travel in front of you. Is there anything you would like to do? Uh, lick my wounds. Recover my hip bone. It, yes. Yeah. Yeah, so like, uh, as, as mentioned, it will take all of the remainder of this day- Okay
all of the next day, and then arriving the morning after. So you [00:12:00] absolutely will have time. We'll, we'll, we'll, we'll, uh, fast-forward through the first night, let's say. Okay. And, and rejoin in the morning one day away from your destination. Sure.
Okay. Wonderful. Beautiful. So, uh, I mean, do typical, typical piracy things. Get the boat moving, uh, put the, the crew through usual daily routine workout on the ship. You know, get some hoops in
Go one-on-one ... Kezzara's gonna go find Jim Hmm. Yeah I need to go deal with him Yeah, I think he's still in the conference room Yeah, [00:13:00] tied up Uh, Jim is still in the conference room tied up. Wonderful. Wonderful. I was gonna walk down, walk up and go, "Jim, how's it going?" Hmm. Wait, did you gag him or- I didn't gag him Oh, okay
I just tied him up Oh, okay. No, I tied him up. Yes. Oh. I almost said, "Get him tied up." Didn't, didn't gag him. I gave the order. No, yeah. That's fair. I gave the order to tie him up. I did not do the tying. I've been better. Mm-hmm. Well, now that we're all back on board, uh, we can go ahead and get you out of this.
Love that. Um, and then I, before we kind of move out of the conference room here, um, have a little bit of, uh, some questions for you. Okay. About your previous job. Uh-huh. So you said you were a little bit of a, um, a spy master, you know, kind of doing some things for your previous captain? Uh, y- yes. Yeah, the different odds and ends.
Mm-hmm Any useful [00:14:00] information, uh, now that we've kind of been successful in our journey here? Any other information we should be kind of worried about?
Has anyone told Jim? Not yet, I'm getting to it. Okay. Um, uh, I can't, I can't think of much- Ah ... um, but I'm sure if you let me live I could think of something. Um- You haven't given us really any current reason to kill you. Um- Excellent ... so, um, about, you know, how y- the information you gave us for, uh, Pirate Queen Captain Scarlet, right?
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Um, and we were gonna potentially run into him. Mm-hmm. Yeah, we kind of did. Hmm. Put you here. Uh, sh- uh, uh, rocks falling. Okay. And a crushed body. Whose? Captain Scarlet. No. Yeah.[00:15:00]
So there's a new pirate king. Ooh. Our captain. Ah. Yeah. Right there with you. Uh-huh. O- okay. Figured you should know. I appreciate it. So, you know, you don't have to worry about, you know, Captain Scarlet coming after you any time soon. Um, but her crew is kind of sort of seeking j- vengeance, I guess. First Mate Mai is- I didn't do anything.
Uh, it's fine. Um, Tybalt has been fantastic. Um- Tybalt's here? Tybalt is here. Excellent. You don't seem so happy about that. Oh, it's fine. Are you sure? Yeah. I'm gonna insight check him. Um, yay. Um, great. Well, um, guess we can kind of take you up to the top and, uh, kind of put you to work. Right, yes. Yeah, of course. Yeah. So I'm not sentenced to death anymore? Not currently. Well, these- This is a good day ... I mean, mm, we'll see. Wait, what do you mean currently? Huh? I- I didn't do anything ... yet. I don't want to do anything.
I mean, you're gonna have- To- ... to do something in terms of- Well, but you know, no warranting- You're- ... of death sentences Okay. I'm pretty sure Tingus Bingus, um, the one, um, who is a, a boatswain, um, will put you to work." Uh- A really tall one ... Jim will report to Tingus Bing- ah, yeah, that clarifies it. The really tall one wearing the shorts th- that, that are purple Hello.
Hi. Why are you here? Uh, reporting for duty. Oh. I thought Kithara had work for you. She said she had work for you. Go see her. Oh, okay. Sounds good.
I love the picture of Stephanie just kind of coming up. What's everyone else doing? Stephanie come up. Riven is still in the crow's
nest, [00:18:00] and she's just kind of sitting in it, so she, like, she can't really be seen. She's up at the- Um, and she's just taking the ring that she took off of Queen Scarlet's, um, finger and just kind of twisting it and, like, staring at it. Um, and just kind of sitting up there. Uh, it is golden and two serpents are intertwined.
Like, literally three-dimensional. Okay
And then she gets an idea. She's like, "Huh." She goes down the crow's nest and goes to find, um, Woldorn. You can detect magic on things, yes? I can s- I can sense it, yes. Can you do this on this? I take one hand off of the, the wheel and I hold it in my hand. If you give me some [00:19:00] time, yes Don't lose it I won't.
And I will begin to ritually cast Detect Magic on the ring. Riven doesn't leave, though. So, okay. She's right there. So just, okay, uh- Just don't lose it Staring. Yeah, don't lose it. Stares the entire time. You're ritually casting Detect Magic. On the ring. Right. Well, generally, but- At the wheel. Yeah. Okay. Are you gonna put the little thing in?
Yeah. Keep the little teddy. Are there some other steps here, or...? Um- Do you like- You can go to the desk ... I, myself, Cameron, do not know what you do with a wheel when you don't want it to move. So there's like a little- Are there steps that one can take? There's usually like a lock. There's like a little thing, like a wood piece that like can like keep it steady.
There is also a Riven, but like- Yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah, there's me too. I- That's true ... put the stick thing where the stick thing goes. Is that the technical term for it? Yes, it is. Yeah. Hey, listen to the navigator. I put- Oh, [00:20:00] here I am. Here I am The navigator says it is. Yep, no questions. He's going to put the stick thing where the stick thing goes, and then I will sit That's the technical term, y'all.
I love the technical term. Um, and then I will sit, um, on, um, just sort of like a crate somewhere. And you see that I take out another vial, um, that I've got like apparently more than one of them- Mm-hmm ... of like, kinda like a viscous liquid. And I... Um, and after a little bit, my eyes sort of gloss over, and I look at it.
Excellent.
All right, after 10 minutes Yeah. 10 minutes later. 10 minutes later. 10 minutes later. Uh, you are holding the ring and it is not magical I don't sense any magic coming off of it. When I look at Riven, do I, like, sense anything [00:21:00] coming off of her? Um- Like her druidy-ness? I... Sure, yeah, in the vague, um
Aura sense, but not, not like, um...
Huh. I hand it back to her Well, that's disappointing. Um, thanks anyways This is weird. I feel weird. Mm. And y- I think Riven probably would have noticed, since she's doing something similar, that Aldrin has not been really celebrating with the group. He's sort of been keeping his distance. Um, hasn't been...
He's not, like, slacking off at all. Like, he's doing all of his jobs, but he's not interacting with the crew, even more so than prior [00:22:00] to, um, this turn of events. And I think since you're kind of hiding out with the Crow's Nest, you probably would have noticed. Mm. Um, and he doesn't immediately make back to the wheel.
He sits there for a while, um, and Saja comes over and he scratches behind her ears. Do you feel weird about this whole situation? Of course I do. Did you just laugh? I... Yes. You should do that more often. I am capable of laughter, you know. Well, that'd be the first time.
I don't understand. That'd be the first time that I ever heard it
There's not much to laugh about on this boat Well, definitely not as of late. [00:23:00] There's also not much to laugh about when you're used to walking alone.
Well, we're not alone anymore
This is not a good turn of events for us. Yeah. I'm worried about what this means
There are going to be far too many eyes on us. We are not a crew that is respectfully equipped to be the new crew of the Pirate King But that's not our fault. I feel like if Kothara was the captain, we would be fine
Even then, I mean, well, I don't know your experience, but I feel like we're very much in over our [00:24:00] heads, and if it were
When a predator dies, there is a power vacuum, and it is very quickly filled by the next strongest creature, whether it be bear, mountain lion, or something else. Mm-hmm. But if something small tries to come in, like a young bear- Like a runt ... then something older tends to come in to kill it. We are the runt Yeah
Well, the good thing is, is there's no plot on our head. It's just our stinking captain who we don't even really like anyways. How loudly is Riven talking right now? Very loudly. Great. Oh, man. Okay, um- I'm definitely on the deck. Yeah. Where are you guys? By the helm. We're by the- By the- ... the helm ... helm, yeah.

I probably don't hear that Okay. So it could be a blessing in disguise, but the only problem is I feel like if people come after the captain, then they will, you know, kind of come after us and- By proxy ... yeah, whatever that word means. By extension. Yes So I think we just need to stick together as a crew and kind of trust each other.
But I don't know how I feel about how Kit Kat and Coach reacted to Queen Scarlet's death

For what he did? I don't know. I feel a lot of rage towards him
And if I had the opportunity, I, yeah, I probably would kill him. But I don't think I have the opportunity because of where I am at. Does that make sense? It does

Um, Tybalt is on deck, and uh, Kathara- Ooh ... is walking, is on deck walking towards- How close is Tybalt? ... the door. Not far. Oh, that's fair. Like down the steps.[00:28:00]

In Halfling I say, "Tybalt is right there, and he has sworn his allegiance to the Pirate Crown. That includes our captain." Right, and what I'm saying could make him not be happy. Try make him want to kill you. Kill me? Yeah. Oh, 'cause I said that... That's right. Yeah, okay. That makes sense. [00:31:00] I will try to rein in my emotions, but I can't promise that I'm not gonna wanna feel like I wanna kill him.
I didn't say to change how you feel. Okay. But I do think that it would be a good idea perhaps for you, me- Tingus and Kathara- Mm-hmm ... to have a discussion- Okay ... when the captain is not present, just to make sure that we're all on the same page. That if something goes down, that we protect each other? Yes. We need to decide what our priorities are now, or we will be scattered.
Okay. That makes sense. I don't think it's a good idea for us both to approach them, so we should s- we should break it up. Do you want to speak to, to Tingus or Kathara? I'll go to Kit Kat. I feel a lot of rage towards what happened yesterday And- Today. Yesterday ... that is wholly valid. I understand how much you truly admired Captain Scarlet, and no one could have predicted what happened and where we are currently sitting at. And it's okay to have those, those feelings. It's a very powerful feeling, rage.
Um, but, uh, [00:34:00] how- d- do you need to express yourself in some- I wanna kill the captain Oh But not, I mean, I want to kill the captain, but I don't want to kill the captain. Aha. Do you understand? Yes. It's not his fault that this happened, and now he's the- But it is his fault. But it is his fault, yeah. Oh, that's- He's, like, not doing it, he didn't do it to hurt her.
Correct. But he wasn't upset about it. Well, he's kind of dumb. And neither were you, but I don't wanna talk about that right now. Got it But he's the one that did it, so I'm mad at him. I'm confused at what I feel about towards you But I don't know. It's 'cause there's a lot of emotions in my brain. D- uh, okay.
But old man said I should talk to you because apparently I was being too open about the fact that I wanted to kill the captain, and apparently that's not what we're supposed to say 'cause that could get us in [00:35:00] trouble, and specifically me. And also she was- he was saying that I was, you know- Having some issues about, like, what we're going to be going into, and that we could be going into a place where everybody wants to kill us.
And I just am nervous for our friend group. Oh, uh, that is one, a lot. Uh, n- not anything I haven't kind of been thinking about myself, just because of our captain taking on this new role, and the... how qualified he is to be in that role. I mean, exactly. Like, he's just fell into this role. I mean, like, it would make sense- Literally
if you got it, or, like, someone else. But, like, he literally fell into it, like fell into the hole. Yes, and now he's a king. He's a king. What does [00:36:00] that even mean? I don't know. I mean, honestly, I feel like we're gonna figure this out, what that entails for him, once we get back. But- Trust me, I'm not, I'm not 100% on this happening either.
Th- I'm worried for him, only for the sense that he doesn't know what he's doing. I'm worried for, uh, us and our crew, for what that means for us. Yeah. I just... I want to make sure that we, the people that we care about, are protected. And for me, that means three people plus Saja. Right. Well, the most we can do is go to the coronation, do and wear our happiest of faces as we need to, uh, there, figure out what it entails, and maybe that's where we leave him.
Tipple wants to stay there and protect the crown, have that be his bodyguard. We go off and continue doing other things. I [00:37:00] mean, I wanna be a pirate, and I wanna be a pirate of the crown. I just didn't think I was gonna be a pirate of the crown- With him ... that's on the head of William Fail. Yeah. Me neither.
I mean, I've always wanted to be on the pirate crew, like that specific pirate crew. It just feels weird now because I feel like I've gotten the goal, but it's not what I wanted. It's not the same. I'm just mad and angry and sad. Do you see- Too many emotions ... emotions are hard, but you're talking about them, which is a good thing.
For now, um, if you need to obviously talk more about them, feel free to bring it to me. Lips are sealed. I don't really like talking about those sort of things anyways, uh, so it's not like I would tell anyone. It doesn't seem like anyone does. Uh, yeah. Um. Trauma or something like that. [00:38:00] I won't go telling anyone.
I, I know I'm close to the captain, that is my job, but certain things said in confidence, I'm not going to tell him. I appreciate that. Do you need to hit something or something? Do you need to scream? That's a good idea. Screaming, screaming's kind of nice. We could go to the back of the ship, scream out into the ocean.
