Zaki:

The sky looks empty today, even though it's full of clouds.

Captain Suhail:

My lord, what's this, A hoopoe looking glum? I never thought I'd see the day. Did you finally lose a storytelling competition, or did you eat a bad worm?

Zaki:

No, captain Suhail. It's nothing like that.

Captain Suhail:

You do look like a bird who's lost his last worm. Come now, out with it. What's got your feathers in a droop?

Zaki:

I just, I just miss my mother. That's all.

Captain Suhail:

Oh, well, that's, quite serious.

Zaki:

She's not gone forever or anything. She's just on vacation with my auntie. But I don't know. It just feels weird not having her around.

Captain Suhail:

Well, well, I thought this was a true tragedy, but no. Your dear mother is just out on a grand voyage of her own.

Zaki:

Yeah. I suppose.

Captain Suhail:

Humph. I wouldn't know much about mothers. I got separated from mine when I was just a wee chick.

Zaki:

Oh, captain Suhail, I'm so sorry.

Captain Suhail:

Ah, no need for that young feathers. When I was but a wee lad, I'd soar high on the winds alongside me, dear mother. I she'd fly fast, darting through the sky like a bolt of lightning. I did my best to keep up puffing out me little chest, thinking myself a fine flyer. Until one fateful day, I realized it wasn't me mother at all.

Captain Suhail:

'Twas was an owl. A very confused owl. Turns out, he had been desperately trying to shake me off his tail.

Zaki:

What?

Captain Suhail:

I've had a fair few grand adventures, my good man. And though I never knew my mother, I like to think she's out there somewhere, Still squawking as loud as I do. Most likely louder. But, you know, Zaki, a mother's love is like the wind. Sometimes you don't see it.

Captain Suhail:

But you can always feel it guiding you, lifting you up when you least expect it. Wow. Captain,

Zaki:

that is amazing. I don't know what to say.

Captain Suhail:

That'd be a first.

Zaki:

And you know, no matter where our mothers are, they always love us.

Captain Suhail:

Aye. That's true. Now come now, dry those feathers. Let me tell you about the tale of how the seagulls once ruled an ancient kingdom beneath the sea. I, the lost city of Gullantis, built entirely out of seashells and forgotten wisdom.

Zaki:

Captain, that is not a real place, and you can't even live underwater.

Captain Suhail:

Not yet, my good bird. Not yet.

Zaki:

Meraj Digital Presents the Amazing Stories with Zaki the Hoopoe. Episode 19, the Son of Maryam.

Zaki:

Salam, my wonderful friends. It's me, Zaki, your favorite Hoopoe, and I'm so glad you're here today. We have an incredible story to tell, one about a woman of amazing strength and faith, Maryam.

Zaki:

She was chosen for something miraculous, something that changed the world. But before we start, let's go over a few important things especially for my younger listeners. First, do you know what an angel is? Angels are special creations of Allah. They are made of light and they never disobey him.

Zaki:

They don't eat, sleep, or get tired. And they have special jobs, some protect us, some deliver messages, and some record everything we do. We have met a few of them. Remember prophet Idris and his journey to Juna? Or maybe you remember the angels who came to prophet Ibrahim and Sarah to tell them they were going to have a son. Or the last story about prophet Adam and Hawa. They have been showing up in our stories a lot.

Captain Suhail:

Aye, Zaki. Ye talk about angels like they be something grand. But I say seagulls are the true angels of the sea. Always watching, always swooping in unexpected, and always making sure folks remember them, usually by taking their food.

Zaki:

And kids, do you know who the greatest angel of all is? That's angel Jibril. He's the one who brings messages from Allah to the prophets, and he plays a very important role in today's story. So let's begin.

Captain Suhail:

Aye, a good honest man, that old Gabe, fine fellow, does great work. Well, I guess he isn't really a man.

Zaki:

A long time ago, in a quiet and peaceful place, there lived a woman named Mariam. She was known for her goodness, kindness, and deep devotion to Allah. Everyday she spent time in prayer, always trusting in Allah's wisdom and plan.

Captain Suhail:

Ay, sounds like a fine lass. But what was she praying for? Riches, a golden nest.

Zaki:

No, Captain Suhail. She wasn't praying for anything selfish. She was dedicated to Allah alone. Her heart was pure, and because of that, Allah chose her for something extraordinary.

Captain Suhail:

Aye. And when Allah chooses you for something, ye best believe it's big.

Zaki:

Exactly. One day, while she was in deep reflection, something incredible happened. An angel appeared before her.

Captain Suhail:

But are ye sure, Zaki? Couldn't it have just been a seagull with a penchant for the theatrics? Many, great thespian have come from our flock.

Zaki:

It was angel Jibrael, and he brought Maryam a message. Maryam, Allah has chosen you for a great honor. You will have a baby, and he will be a great prophet. She was in complete shock. How can I have a baby?

Zaki:

I am not married, she asked. But Jibreel assured her, this is Allah's will. If he says be, it happens.

Captain Suhail:

Aye. Allah's got a way of making things happen. That's for sure.

Zaki:

And so, Maryam traveled far from her town feeling a mix of emotions, honor, responsibility, and worry. She found herself in a quiet, secluded place under the shade of a palm tree where she rested. The journey had been long and she was exhausted, but she knew that Allah was with her. As she sat beneath the tree, she could feel a gentle breeze, as if the world itself was preparing for something incredible. Then, in that peaceful moment, something truly miraculous happened.

Zaki:

Her baby was born. A beautiful boy, Isa, came into the world, a sign of Allah's power and mercy. Can you imagine, my friends, a child born into the quiet stillness surrounded by nature with only the whispering wind and the rustling leaves as witnesses? It was as if the world itself was celebrating his arrival. Mariam, though tired, held her son close, feeling the warmth of his tiny form.

Zaki:

Her heart swelled with love, but also with questions. How would she explain this? How could she face the people back home? She had no husband, no witnesses, only her unwavering faith in Allah. And as she sat in contemplation, Allah provided for her.

Zaki:

A voice called out, guiding her to shake the palm tree beside her, and from it fell fresh, ripe dates. Water was made to flow nearby, easing her exhaustion and giving her the strength she needed. This moment, my friends, is a reminder that Allah always takes care of those who trust in him. Even when things seem impossible, his help comes in ways we never expect. And with this new found strength, Mariam wrapped her son in her arms and began her journey back to her people.

Captain Suhail:

The town folk weren't gonna take one look at the baby and say, fair winds and a following sea. They'd want answers.

Zaki:

Exactly. So Mariam did as Allah commanded and returned to her people in silence, carrying baby Isa in her arms.

Captain Suhail:

And then boom, the questions start flying faster than a hungry gull at a fish market.

Zaki:

Before Mariam could open her mouth to answer any of their questions, the most amazing thing happened. Baby Isa, just a newborn, began to speak. He told the people, I am a servant of Allah. He has given me a book and made me a prophet. Can you imagine the surprise everyone felt when a small baby boy began to speak?

Zaki:

I would have passed out.

Captain Suhail:

But you tend to pass out quite a bit, mate.

Zaki:

As Isa grew up, he became known for his wisdom and kindness. Even as a child, he had a deep understanding of faith and love for Allah. People around him noticed that he was no ordinary child. He carried a sense of peace and understanding far beyond his years. He was compassionate to those in need, always lending a hand to the poor, the sick, and those who felt lost.

Zaki:

By Allah's will, Isa was blessed with miracles that astonished those around him. He healed the sick with just a touch, made the blind see, and even brought people back to life.

Captain Suhail:

Jesus Christ.

Zaki:

Captain!

Captain Suhail:

Apologies, Zaki. I only jest.

Zaki:

Anyways, imagine witnessing such miracles with your own eyes. But Isa's mission was never about power. It was about guiding people back to the path of Allah, reminding them to worship only him and to live with kindness and justice. But there was one more message that Isa carried, one that pointed to the future. He told his followers that after him would come another messenger, the last and greatest of all.

Zaki:

A prophet who would bring the final guidance for all humans. Can you guess who that might be?

Captain Suhail:

Another mystery. The game is afoot, my dear man.

Zaki:

Exactly. But that's a story for another time. Wow, my fine feathered friends. What a story. There's so much to learn from prophet Isa and his mother, Miriam.

Zaki:

Let's take a quick moment to go over what we discovered. First, we saw the power of a mother's love. Mariam faced many hardships, but she trusted in Allah, and he never left her side. Our mothers are some of the greatest blessings we have. We should cherish and respect them always.

Captain Suhail:

Aye. And we learned that sometimes even the mightiest miracles start with a mother's care, even if she's just keeping you from flying into a storm.

Zaki:

Exactly, captain. We also learned about angels, how they follow Allah's commands and bring messages to the prophets. And, of course, we met angel Jibrail again who had such an important role in today's story.

Captain Suhail:

Oh, Gabe. That scallywag makes you wonder if he ever takes a break.

Zaki:

I don't think angels take breaks, captain. And finally, we learned about prophet Isa, his miraculous birth, his kindness, and the wisdom he shared. But don't worry, this was only an introduction to prophet Isa. We will go deeper into his stories in future episodes. He reminded his people of the final messenger to come, and that my friends will lead us into our next adventure.

Captain Suhail:

Bye. And this time, it's about building things with your own two wings or hands, proper hard work. None of this fancy pants miracle business.

Zaki:

Well, next time, we'll hear about prophet Ibrahim and his son Ismael building something holy and sacred in the middle of the desert. A story of devotion, patience, and teamwork. Until then, my friends, stay curious, stay kind, and always remember, Allah's wisdom is in everything around us.

Captain Suhail:

And don't forget, if you ever feel lost, just follow the wind. Unless the winds are taking you in the wrong direction, then maybe a good map. Maps are handy.
