Welcome everyone to the Wedding Pro Academy Podcast. I'm Nicole, your host. I'm an expert in the wedding industry and I've personally built two 6 figure businesses from the ground up. Each week I'll cover strategies, tips, tricks that will give you your dream wedding business too. So much for tuning in today. Let's dive in. Hello everyone and welcome to episode 17. Today I am going to talk about something that hopefully won't go right over your head, hopefully isn't too deep and woo woo for you but stuff that I am totally obsessed with all this mindset stuff that equates to manifestation which I think would be so helpful to so many of you if you can really grasp and put these things into real life experience into practice.

Nicole:

Today I want to talk about mindset that will help you to book weddings. So here's the concept, this big concept that I kind of want you to grasp. Your circumstances or things that are happening in your life create thoughts that you have internally, right? Thoughts about what's going on. Those thoughts end up giving you a feeling, a feeling inside, which then affects your results or your manifestations.

Nicole:

That was a lot. So I hope it didn't go over your head, and I'm gonna break it down in a little more detail. So how you think about what's going on in your your life influences how you feel or your emotions, which then affects your energy, which will either repel or attract brides and grooms. And this is super important because if your energy is naturally repelling brides and grooms, it doesn't matter how much planning, how much effort you put into booking them, it's not gonna work because your energy is repelling them. So how do you fix this?

Nicole:

And it's not an easy fix where you can just say positive affirmations. And I know you guys have probably heard about affirmations. If you're in the world of building your own business, you want to try to use manifestation in your favor, and positive affirmations is not gonna work. It just doesn't work. So if you're thinking, you know, I will book more weddings.

Nicole:

I will book this wedding. My wedding business will be profitable. I will make a hundred thousand dollars this year or whatever those affirmations might be. Like, none of that matters if you don't believe it. And you'll know right away whether you believe it or not by how you feel.

Nicole:

So it's way better to say something that you believe if you wanna make it happen. And if you don't believe any of that shit, I will make a hundred thousand dollars this year. You just don't you can't really get behind it. You don't feel it in your bones because you don't believe it, then it's not gonna work. That positive that affirmation is just worthless to you because your energy is affected by what you believe and manifestation or results come out into place based on how you feel and what you believe.

Nicole:

So if you don't believe I will book more weddings, you ain't booking them. Like, that's the truth. You can show up to that consult totally prepared and you can hope to book them, but if deep down inside you believe that you're not gonna book them because how could they ever choose you? You know, you have no experience or you're just hoping to book them, then that's they're you're not gonna book them because all of your energy is giving off this uncomfortable. I'm not a safe bet.

Nicole:

I'm not confident. You shouldn't trust me energy. Couples can feel that and they can hear that through your voice, through the way you talk, through your uneasiness, through your questioning yourself. They can pick up on that so easily, and it comes off when you're talking to them even on the phone. And that's the energy that you don't wanna be putting out there.

Nicole:

So what should you be doing instead? Well, I mean, obviously you want to get to a place where you're believing that this couple needs me and they want to work with me and they would benefit so much from working with me and I'm a great fit for them, and I have so much to offer. But if you don't believe that yet, don't fake it. I mean, first of all, what you need to do is figure out what your current beliefs are so that you can see how they're holding you back. And in order to do this, you need to be totally honest with yourself.

Nicole:

And, you know, an easy way to figure out what your beliefs are is to journal for five minutes a day and just brain dump it all out. Like, just write down. Set a timer. Five minutes. That's not very much time.

Nicole:

You can totally afford to do this. And it will help you so much. So just brain dump it all out on paper. Like, actually write it down. Don't just think about it.

Nicole:

I want you to get a pen and paper. Write down your feelings, like everything that you're thinking about your business right now, and let it all out. Do it for five full minutes. That will seem like a long time at first, but the more you do it, the more comfortable you'll be doing it Just get it all out of your brain. I don't know what will come out but it will probably be something like it's hard, I don't know what I'm doing, I should be booking more weddings, I should be further ahead, I'm overwhelmed, don't know if I'm doing the right things.

Nicole:

And whatever comes out, just let it out. Don't judge them. Just let it all out. This is really important. Don't judge any of these thoughts that are coming out of you.

Nicole:

Just let them be there. And then, after you're done, look at them and just reflect on them. What is it that I'm actually thinking? What do you see? After you've done this for a few days, you'll start to see the same sorts of thoughts come up over and over again.

Nicole:

What are the thoughts that are coming up again and again? These thoughts that come up over and over again, these are your beliefs. Okay? These beliefs are embedded deep in your subconscious and that there's stuff that, like, is holding you back. It's these beliefs that are causing you to not book more weddings.

Nicole:

It's causing you to repel brides and grooms because you believe that you don't know what you're doing. You believe that you should be further ahead. You believe, you know, overall that you're not good at this. So no couple is going to want to work with you when that's what you believe even if you're telling them all the reasons why you're so awesome and why they should book you. Deep down, you don't believe that's true.

Nicole:

So they're not going to get that believable feeling from you. They're not going to trust you because you don't trust yourself. So, like, here's an example. For me, I had this belief of I'm behind. I should be making more.

Nicole:

I should be further ahead for so long. This just kept coming up and coming up and coming up in me every time I would do this journaling process. And what you want to do is now take that belief and then look at the opposite of it. What do you actually want to believe? You want to believe, like I wanted to believe that everything I'm doing is working.

Nicole:

I'm making more than enough money. I'm ahead even. But not all of those thoughts were believable to me. And how you know is how the new thoughts that you wanna believe, how they make you feel. Do they make you feel shitty?

Nicole:

Or do they make you feel empowered? Because those are two very different feelings, you wanna choose thoughts that make you feel more empowered. You need to choose thoughts that are more believable to you. So if your thought is like mine, I should be further ahead. Instead, you could think, I'm good at figuring things out.

Nicole:

That's very believable to me. I know that I'm good at figuring things out. I could also think things are always working out for me. That's another thought that's very believable to me. I know things always work out for me.

Nicole:

Also, maybe I might want to think something like, it's possible that I'm exactly where I should be. Now, I might not get be able to get to a place where I'm I'm believing that I'm ahead or everything is working, but it's possible that I'm exactly where I should be. That sounds believable to me. Those are thoughts that I would practice. When I start to think I should be further ahead, I'm going to remind myself when I write that down in my journal that I'm also gonna spend some time journaling about how it's possible that I'm exactly where I should be and I'm good at figuring things out and things are always working out for me.

Nicole:

Then I want to prove those things to myself. What is one thing that has worked out for me in the past? Let me write that down. Let me give myself a specific example of how things have worked out for me in the past so that I know that this is just another thing that is going to work out for me. This new business is going to work out for me and here's why.

Nicole:

Because this other thing worked out for me and this other thing worked out for me. So you want to prove to yourself that these thoughts are true, more true than the other one that is I'm behind, nothing's working out or whatever. Right? So here's another common thought that a lot of people have when they're building a business is this isn't working. Right?

Nicole:

And I know if you're feeling that you're not alone because so many of us get into these modes of like, I don't know what I'm doing. This isn't working. Well, instead of that, you could think, it's possible that this is working, and the results are still in process of happening right now. I they just haven't manifested yet. Right?

Nicole:

This is working. It's just I'm not at the tail end of it. I just need to get a little bit further. Or you could think some things are working. And then spend some time actually giving yourself proof what things are working.

Nicole:

I mean, maybe I haven't booked a wedding, but I got my website up. Maybe I haven't booked a wedding, but I did meet five new vendor friends that I didn't know before, and that is gonna really help me later on. This isn't working, but I do have an email system in place that is ready for these brides to come on. That is working. So what are all the things that are working?

Nicole:

Spend more time in the stuff that is working than in that thought process of this isn't working. I would do this journaling process every single day. This will make a humongous difference in your business. And in bringing in new brides and grooms, new weddings to your business, you have to create this level of confidence and believability within you that attracts them instead of repels them. This is sort of like the behind the scenes work that you should be working on when you don't have weddings.

Nicole:

But make it a daily practice because this will influence your wedding business so much. It will help attract brides and grooms to you. It will help you improve your self confidence and your belief in your business, which is huge. So here's another common thought. I don't know what I'm doing.

Nicole:

Like, who hasn't thought that? Right? I'm ten years in and sometimes I still think I don't know what I'm doing. That's so common. Don't feel bad if you're thinking that if you see that one pop up a lot.

Nicole:

I know I do sometimes. So instead, I would try to reframe that and think, well I know the next step. I know what I'm doing right now and I know the next step and that's enough for right now. I'll figure out the step after that when I get to it. That's totally believable to me.

Nicole:

I can figure out the next step. I know what I'm supposed to do next. You need to think of something that's believable to you. Another thought to sort of counter I don't know what I'm doing is I'm good at figuring things out. And I know this is just one more thing I need to figure out.

Nicole:

That one totally believable to me and it might be believable to you too. You know that you're good at figuring things out. And here's all the things I figured out in the past like I figured out how to do this. I figured out how to do that. And it can be simple things too.

Nicole:

Like, I figured out how to make an apple pie. I found a recipe. Got the I made it from scratch. That was a big thing. I figured it out.

Nicole:

Here's another reason thing that I figured out. I figured out how to help my kid do their math homework even though it was through a way that I'd never learned before. I mean, this for me, dude, if you have kids right now that are in elementary school, they don't do math the same way that they used to do. You have to figure out all these new systems. I mean, I figured that out.

Nicole:

Right? That's just more proof to myself that I am good at figuring things out. You wanna prove to yourself over and over and over again that you do know what you're doing. And it doesn't matter if it is about your wedding business. You are a person that is good at figuring things out.

Nicole:

That thought is gonna feel so much better than I don't know what I'm doing. I can't figure this out. Right? So spend some time working through these beliefs that are holding you back and shift them one at a time until you feel something different. Until you feel another belief that supports you instead of holds you back.

Nicole:

Instead of protects you from achieving these great amazing things that you know you can do. You want to have beliefs that are always going to support and push you to that next level. The bigger you grow, the more money you make, the more profitable your business becomes, the better your beliefs need to be. So you better start work them out now because you're going to have to get to a place where you have beliefs that support you eventually. These beliefs are what is going to create bigger and bigger opportunities for you and bigger manifestations.

Nicole:

If you go into a consult believing, I hope I booked this wedding, but really you're thinking, don't know if I'm good enough. Maybe I can convince them. Like, that is very different from going into the wedding thinking or into the consult with a new bride and groom thinking, I'm good at this. I can help them. I'm I'm amazing at what I do.

Nicole:

I know they need me. I just hope we're the right fit for each other. Like, is that thought process right there. It's full of confidence. It's full of belief, and that energy is gonna come off when you meet the couple.

Nicole:

And it doesn't mean that I'm saying all these things out loud to them. I'm just thinking them. I'm feeling them. I'm believing them. That energy can be felt through the phone, you know, through email, through an in person consult for sure, through a video chat.

Nicole:

They can feel this confidence, this knowing that I'm good at this and you need me. And that is very, very attractive to brides and grooms. And this is how I book so many weddings. So I wanted to give you a couple of beliefs that I have built over time that have served me really well and booked me tons of weddings. And you can steal any one of these, but I want to remind you that you need to figure out beliefs that feel believable to you.

Nicole:

So you might need to customize them a bit until they feel really believable to you and like you you can feel them inside like oh yeah this resonates with me this is something that I can stand by. So here are some beliefs that I have that have served me really well. Number one: I'm good at this. I know that I'm good at this. Number two, I'm really good at figuring things out.

Nicole:

Totally believable to me. Hopefully, it's something believable to you too. Number three, I'm the kind of person who makes shit happen. I know that about myself. I don't care how hard it is, I make shit happen.

Nicole:

Number four. I like, I love big scary goals. They push me to have big growth. So if I'm uncomfortable right now, it means that I'm pushing myself to big growth and that is always a good thing. This one is super helpful to me when I'm in that place of growing into a new bigger version of myself and I'm feeling uncomfortable and scared and freaking the fuck out because I'm filled with fear.

Nicole:

I remind myself, no, no, no. I like big scary things and big scary things means big growth. And I'm all about that and I'm all in on that. Number five, this one is so huge. I don't know when I developed this belief but it served me so well you should totally steal it.

Nicole:

It's my people will come. So I don't care if you bride and groom over there that didn't book me don't call me back. I'm not worried because my people will come. They always come. They always find me.

Nicole:

I know my people will come. Totally steal that one. If you don't have that belief, it's so good for any wedding business. My people will come. Number six, things always work out for me.

Nicole:

Things are always working out for me. Number seven. This one I stole from Marie Forleo. If you've heard of her, she's awesome. But everything is figureoutable.

Nicole:

There's nothing I can't figure out. Everything is figureoutable. That is totally believable right? You can figure out anything. It might take time, might take a lot of trial and error but everything is figureoutable.

Nicole:

Number eight: being an entrepreneur is in my bones, it's who I am. Number nine, I was meant to be an entrepreneur and have my own business. I was meant for this business. Number 10, I love figuring out the hard stuff. Number 11, I can make more money with less effort and time.

Nicole:

So I can make much more money with less effort and less time if I figure out this process, this system, whatever. I didn't start believing that one until well into my business. I used to think I had to hustle and work hard and do more weddings and all this stuff to make more money. And then I started seeing other people that were working less and making more and I was like, wait a minute, I want that too. If they're making more money but spending only two days a week working, get me on that boat, I want in.

Nicole:

I need to believe that. I need to figure out how they did that. The truth is you can do that too. Just start surrounding yourself and not even real people. You can just hear about other people with businesses that don't spend forty-eighty hours a week working on them.

Nicole:

They're honestly just working twenty hours a week, sixteen hours a week, eight hours a week and making a hundred thousand dollars or more. People do that and you can do that too. So I can make more money with less effort and time is a really great thought to start to try to believe and you can even change that to be more believable to you with something like it's possible it's possible I can make more money with less effort and time. Like I can get behind that maybe. It's possible.

Nicole:

You can start there, right? Number 12. My business works for me. I love this one. I love that my businesses work for me, that they're always working for me.

Nicole:

I think that one is super helpful in getting me to build out a team and not having to do everything myself. My businesses work for me. Number 13. I am getting better and better and better at this. That's a great one too.

Nicole:

And this is number 14. This is the one that I'm still working on, but one that I'm totally gonna get in the next month or two. And it's everything I do is more than enough to get me the results that I desire. Oh, that one's so good. I love that one because I have had this belief for the longest time that I need to do more.

Nicole:

And that was based on the way I grew up, right? You have to work more, you have to work harder in order to make more money. So I have always felt like I wasn't doing enough, that I need to do more. But now I want to get to a place where I really genuinely believe in my bones that everything I do is more than enough to get me the exact results that I desire. Quick repeat: beliefs that you should steal or work on getting towards that can help your business to grow and create an energy that attracts brides and grooms instead of repelling them.

Nicole:

Here are 14 beliefs that you can steal from me: I'm good at this. I'm really good at figuring things out. I'm the type of person who makes shit happen. I like big scary goals, they push me to have big growth. And big growth is always a good thing.

Nicole:

My people will come. Things are always working out for me. Everything is figureoutable. Being an entrepreneur is who I am. I was meant to have my own business.

Nicole:

I love figuring out the hard stuff. I can make more money with less effort and time. My business works for me. I am getting better and better and better at this. And everything I do is more than enough to get me the results that I desire.

Nicole:

Okay, that was a fun one. I hope you guys got something out of it. And I hope you can start to apply this to your business because it will be the one invisible thing that you work on that will bring the greatest results if you can master this and really turn it into a habit and slowly start to shift some of the beliefs that have been holding you back. Your business will take off. I can guarantee it.

Nicole:

It's such a fun thing to play around with and if you're not into manifestation you can still see why some beliefs could be holding you back. Shifting those beliefs even a little bit can make a huge change in the amount of bookings you have, in the amount of money you make, in how you feel about your business, in how your business works for you. All of these things are super important to creating and building and growing a business that is profitable, that is fun, that works for you, that can be, you know, really a dream business for you.
