Each week, WORDTheatre® shares a brilliant short story performed live in LA, NY or London by a great actor, usually with the author in the room to hear their story being brought to life. Welcome to WORDTheatre Weekly: The Short Story
Podcast where great authors and actors meet. I’m your host, Cedering Fox, WORDTheatre’s Founder & Artistic Director.
Today’s episode will feature another Pushcart Prize winning story from our Manhattan event last month, Growing Pains. Both the performer, Xander Berkeley, and the author, David Means, are very special longtime WORDTheatre contributors. We were thrilled to have them both with us on May 19th for a truly spectacular reading.
David Means has received the PEN/Bernard and Ann Malamud Award, the O. Henry Prize, and the Los Angeles Book Prize, among other accolades. He has been awarded multiple Pushcart Prizes throughout the years
Before we get started, please note that WORDTheatre holds the copyright to these recordings and no portion of anything you hear on WORDTheatre Weekly, our short story podcast, may be reproduced without permission.
And now, here is Xander Berkeley performing “Vows” by David Means.
BERKELEY PERFORMS THE PIECE.
You’ve just heard Xander Berkeley perform “Vows” written by David Means.
