[00:00:00] Chris: Welcome back to another episode of Expat Rebel today, I’m going to share with you. Us passport. Has a new process, Quintana Roo Mexico is the most popular vacation place in the world and public affection in Latin America, and more Expat news.
[00:00:16] I created this podcast because I believe that being an Expat is really not for everyone. And then a lot of Expat advice is unrealistic. So I’m delivering news, motivation and advice that will make you an excellent ex-pat and enjoy a better life. And because they know you’re busy and won’t take up too much of your time.

[00:00:55] We’re a community of expats and we’d love you to join us. Okay. Let’s start with [00:01:00] today’s episode.
[00:01:01] I’m just back from vacation in Puerto Aventuras. Quintana Roo Mexico. I go over there a couple of times a year. I live here in Yucatan, Mexico. So it’s about a four. maybe four and a half hour drive over for me, but Puerto Aventuras is a place that’s gated community it’s well-planned highly planned actually.
[00:01:24] And it has lots of boats. Every single condo or house has a view of water. Maybe not the beach, but it has a view of water with a ton of boats everywhere. So it was really known for that. It’s very nice. And I’ve stayed at resorts there and of course tons of condos, which I did this time.
[00:01:43] Very nice place.
[00:01:44] And I am back and expect news in the middle of a crisis due to delays the US offers a new way to process your passport. Also, if you don’t have a passport, get one. It’s been taken awhile and they new have a new process. All the [00:02:00] links in this show are in the show notes. So you can get to that article.
[00:02:04] And Quintana Roo Mexico home of Puerto Aventuras and Cancun and Playa Del Carmen and Tulum. Everybody’s very familiar with. Is leading the preference for world travelers. A lot of people. Really like that area. I could see why it’s a great vacation place. I used to live in Playa del Carmen. Even though now I don’t because I got a beach home much more affordable over here one state over in Yucatan. But to go on vacation while you really can’t be anything like a Quintana Roo. It’s got a lot going for it.
[00:02:39] Food prices or I register up to 10% increase due to an inflation in Mexico.
[00:02:45] Yes. I’ve noticed actually since the pandemic our food prices here in Mexico have gone up. About 30% on some items. And of course it’s an issue everywhere even here.
[00:02:56] And Mexico beats Costa Rica 2 to 0 to advance to the [00:03:00] gold cup semifinals. It’s looking good. Mexico is doing pretty well.
[00:03:04] And there’s a new magic town here in Yucatan, Mexico.
[00:03:09] Link over to it in the show notes. It’s a, some caves and it just looks totally awesome. I think that was a, definitely a place that was worthy the, of being labeled that.
[00:03:22] And then I got an article about what’s all the public smooching and Ecuador, and of course the rest of Latin America. When everybody seems to have very conservative family values.
[00:03:32] But lovers just can’t do it at home. So that’s why you see public displays of affection. Really nice long article that goes into a lot of details. If you’re interested in that. But since you can make out at home, you go to a public park, just not one nearby. So you actually in public, you see it more than the us or Canada or Europe.
[00:03:51] In Latin America.
[00:03:53] There is a nice article about celebrating the third gender in Mexico, some parts of Mexico have had it [00:04:00] for a hundreds of years, it’s very normal. And Considered part of the culture.
[00:04:05] And Star Wars in Mexico got an article it’s in Spanish. But it’s interesting how, even in Latin America, you can still have Star Wars fans who totally dress up. And enjoy the cosplay and everything like that. So if you’re thinking about moving to a foreign country, and you’re totally into Star Wars or, anything really. Yes, they have it here as well. Tons of Barbie stuff going on right now because the Barbie movie.
[00:04:32] Yeah it’s literally everywhere.
[00:04:35] That’s it for today’s episode. I, again, thanks for being part of Expat Rebel this just wouldn’t be possible without all of you.
