Shalom and welcome to today’s dose of Daily Rambam.
The Rambam, in Hilchot De’ot, says that a person should strive to always be “melumad” - someone with pleasant character traits. Just as we train our bodies to be strong, we should cultivate a calm and gentle demeanor. We shouldn’t be overly reactive or easily angered. Why is this so important? Because the Rambam tells us that someone who’s easily angered shortens their lifespan! So, let’s work on being a “melumad” - for our own well-being and for those around us.
