Sarah:

Hey, Maniacs.

Mark:

Hey, Mystery Maniacs. Welcome to

Sarah:

a mini, mini, mini, mini episode.

Mark:

For Brokenwood season 12 episode three.

Sarah:

Midnight in the Garden.

Mark:

Midnight at the oasis.

Sarah:

No. It's a New Year's Yes. Party at a house called White Cliff.

Mark:

Yes. Yeah. It's a beautiful house.

Sarah:

It's gorgeous. I want that house.

Mark:

The garden isn't amazing though. No. I don't think the garden's in the same place.

Sarah:

If it is, it's still not nice.

Mark:

No. It's some But the house is big.

Sarah:

It's a gazebo. Gazebo. This is a mini episode, meaning you should listen to it before you watch the episode. Spoiler free. We're not gonna ruin anything.

Sarah:

We're just gonna give you some tips and some questions to watch it like a maniac.

Mark:

Yes. The episode dropped on Monday, and we are recording on Wednesday evening. And you get this on Thursday. That is service.

Sarah:

They've probably already watched it once.

Mark:

They probably have.

Sarah:

But now they'll have to watch it again.

Mark:

But now they'll have to watch it again. We got another comment on the socials this week of, I read your questions and I don't remember any of that in the episode.

Sarah:

I just watched it. Did we watch the same episode?

Mark:

To my response was, I sometimes ask the same thing.

Sarah:

You didn't watch it like a maniac but now you can.

Mark:

Oh my gosh. Today I listened to part of an episode from our show from four years ago when we just got Olive, and you're like, hopefully, she'll grow out of being a bitey goblin. And I'm like, nope.

Sarah:

Nope. She didn't. She's three and a half and she's still a bite bite goblin. Yep. Stinky too.

Mark:

Oh, she's very stinky.

Sarah:

Man. If anybody's

Sarah:

got any tips on dog breath, let us know. Both ends of her smell the same.

Mark:

Yes.

Sarah:

That's that's not a compliment. She doesn't have a minty butt or anything.

Sarah:

That would be impressive. On that note, are you ready?

Mark:

Spong.

Sarah:

I've got five things to look for. Excellent. Episode, five ways to watch like a maniac.

Mark:

Happy New Year.

Sarah:

It is a New Year episode. There's fireworks and everything.

Mark:

Yep.

Sarah:

Okay. Number one, what is Mike's Wikipedia? Yes. DSS Mike Shepherd has a Wikipedia. What is it called?

Sarah:

Number two, why does the costume shop have a big renaissance section, and how is that not helpful?

Mark:

And they play around with

Sarah:

this. They do. They do. So why does the costume shop have a big renaissance section? Or renaissance?

Sarah:

And why is that not helpful?

Mark:

Costume related, but not a spoiler. This episode is written by Tanya. The costume lady who has given us information.

Sarah:

She would definitely know the answer to

Mark:

this question. She knows the answer for sure.

Sarah:

Yes. Number three, what animal is Hattie wearing? There's a character named Hattie. What animal is she wearing? Number four, what Russian city's name is wrong?

Mark:

Absolutely. So wrong. Like, decades wrong.

Sarah:

Need a little Soviet history to understand. And number five, what did Steven steal, and what's his sport? So what's Mike's Wikipedia? Why does the costume shop have a big renaissance section, and how is that not helpful? What animal is Hattie wearing?

Sarah:

What Russian city's name is wrong? And what did Steven steal, and what's his sport?

Mark:

It it's a deep cut, the Steve part.

Sarah:

If you're a Brokenwood fan, you'll know the answer.

Mark:

Absolutely.

Sarah:

So that is how to watch Midnight in the Garden season 12 episode three like a maniac.

Mark:

Next week on Monday, the no return ticket is the next new episode. Fine. It might have trains. I can only hope.

Sarah:

It could be flights.

Mark:

Could be, but I love the trains.

Sarah:

Could be any kind of travel where

Sarah:

you need two trains. We'll find out next week.

Mark:

On a train.

Sarah:

Frodo on a train?

Mark:

Frodo on be still my heart. Be still my heart.

Sarah:

Frodo has fancy pants in this episode, by the way.

Mark:

He does indeed have fancy pants.

Sarah:

Check them out. Alright. Until then. Bye, Maniacs.
