The greatest fantasy football league podcast in the history of Saddleback's central connections team
Okay, so Hannah, Hannah, you
just got back from Jazzercise.
What are your fitness goals
for this football season?
Like, I wanna see how many earth, wind
and fire songs I can keep up with before
I collapse with cardio exhaustion.
When you say keep up, like what are
you doing while you're keeping up?
It's a lot of footwork.
I know it, it sounds crazy,
but like that's the hardest
part is like you're moving fast
I need you to basically like
explain Jazzercize to the listener.
Jazzercize is wonderful.
It is.
Um.
Like physical fitness movement
to music and like occasionally
some five pound weights.
It's good stuff.
So what do you hope to accomplish by
the end of the year for Jazzercise?
honestly, just like keeping track of my
left and right would be super helpful
with the coordination of the movements.

It's been a long time since we've done
a podcast and a lot of off season, a lot
of off football season, and honestly,
things really kind of snuck up on us
this year, partially because there's
been a lot of changes around the office.
A lot going on, but we're
back in the thick of it now.
So let's dive in with the weekend Roundup.
Hannah, first game, let's talk
about Team Hulk, smash versus St.
Clauses.
. Yeah, there were actually a lot of really
close matchups this week, which is fun.
You can kind of, it comes
down to that Monday night game
or games as this week was.
Um, but this week the same clause is, um,
smash Team, hus, Hulk, smash, and, um, we
really didn't know till the last minute.
Yeah, it was a good one.
Team Olic Smash has NO and two record,
but they lost both games by very slim
margins with very respectable scores.
So I think it's just a
slow start to a great team.
Up next, we have todo.
Versus Gavin Nader's Army.
it, it's todo.

I gotta be honest, Gabby
told me originally her name
was gonna be Gabby Dingdong.

We, we need answers, but, uh,

potentially out for the season.

Up next, SCS versus Sue and the Rock.
. I have to admit, I went to bed
early last night and I, at the
time it was about eight 30.
You can just assume the handle better.
No, she'll let you know when
she said this was extra early.
I went to bed at eight 30 and at the
time I took one last look at this score
and I had a 10% chance of winning.
You guys, I woke up to a miracle.
I, in fact, did beat
Sue in the rock, barely.
And I was shocked this morning.
So put a little pep in
your stuff, but Jazzercise.
. It did.
I really didn't even know until like
this minute, and I've already been jazzer
sized and back, so now she's just jazzed.
And I was kind of bummed because
I talked to Sue over the weekend.
She said she still didn't
know how to log in.
Um, to fantasy football app, which
we can help you with that, Sue.
But also, I was gonna be really
embarrassed that like she didn't
even look at her team and she
beat me, but it all worked out.
the, the fact that, um, Hampton
did the performance that he
did last night was unusual.
And speaking of slow starts, ang.
. Co.
Dang.
Serena's team is O and two, which is a
shocking start, but it is because she
ran up against high score the week.
Carmy La Mario, which is I think
the hardest one to say, and I could
be wrong, but it feels like too
much work for your fancy team name.
. Well, that feels like a really high score.
I mean, do you think this
is sustainable, James?
Well, she is one in one, so.
so no, it is hard to say.
It's already not been sustained,
but that was a really high score.
I was surprised and and impressed.
But coo dang.
I love your mascot.
I'm a big Hippo fan.
Right up next Scott's Tots
versus Bed Bath and Bijan, uh,
Kelly versus, uh, Natasha Kelly.
What happened?
. This was a rough week for the rock
team all around actually, I, I, I don't
know how, honestly they won during the
crazy launch week when they were like
totally slammed and busy all the time.
But they did.
And now that things have settled
down, they didn't, maybe they
need that edge, like that energy.
Uh, and, you know, maybe they
have too much time to tinker now.
I don't, I don't know what happened.
But then lastly, stronger
Mahomes versus Courtney Cabela.
Uh, I lost, but I feel like my score
was decent, and Courtney Cabela had
second highest score of the week.
good job Bella Courtney.
The problem was here really
because of a strong performance
almost across the board.
She had great performance.
Mark Andrews was a let down, but
he's either 30 points or no points.
Jonathan Taylor was a big hit.
Christian McCaffrey was a big hit.
Uh, Patrick Mahomes was up big,
so honestly, I think Courtney
Cabela's team is looking good.
, I think maybe stronger Mahomes
needs to be strengthening
stronger Mahomes or stronger.
Stronger Mahomes perhaps.
. And that concludes our wrap
up from the previous week.
Now we do have a lot of league
business to take care of right now.
So first of all, Hannah, I'd
like your season predictions.
Now.
We make a lot of predictions on this show.
. Mm-hmm.
Not once.
Do we ever go back and look at them?
? No.
So We need like a league, um, scribe
or what, what do you call that, with
the person who writes things down?
Grand Visier, like the minutes person.
I don't know.
Like our report reporter,
re recorder historian.
So if anyone wants that job, you can
just write down all the predictions
that we say so we can actually look
back and remember what we said.
Are we gonna do it?
No.
Okay.
That's someone we need
to spread the love here.
Someone else can do that.
Okay.

So, uh, Hannah.
? Yes.
Who do you predict will
win it all this season?
? Okay, so of course this early in
the season, I have to say that
I always just follow my heart.
So don't ask me why I would predict
this person as the winner of this team.
Um, it's just how, and
that's through my heart.
Okay?
And I would say that this year.
Gator's Army is gonna do
a complete turnaround.
They're gonna go from last to
first, and that is something that
I feel really confident about
in my Hearting g Ab Dingdong.
Okay, and who's going
to come in last place?
Who's gonna be dancing through the tears?
? Um, this is tough and I don't think
that it's because of the manager.
But
Okay Mom, you guys are all trying
your best and I appreciate that.
Um, okay, so I'm gonna go
for, can I pick myself?
I'll, I'll be in last.
You're welcome guys.
I just, I hope, I hope
everybody else wins.
Okay, so just so everybody knows
what's going on here, Hannah
doesn't think Gabby's gonna win.
Hannah thinks she's going to win,
and Gabby's gonna lose, but she
doesn't wanna say it on record.
, As she doesn't no.

Right.
Moving on to the next segment, the
prize for whoever is actually gonna win.
Now we have not conclusively
come up with a prize yet.
. No, traditionally we put four,
the top three suggestions for the
winner, and everyone votes on that.
So it's what we're gonna do here
is suggest three prizes right now.
I and I, I will say Serena had a great
idea and reached out and asked Tory if
Tory could find a reserve parking spot.
So if Tory actually manages that,
all voting on these prizes are
null and void, because that's a
better prize than any of these.
Uh, now I, it's also important to
know that Serena did not specify
where this reserve parking spot is.
Like it could be at MO two, it could
be at Central, and she did not specify
how long this parking spot is reserved.
Could be for a day, a month, a year.
I we're gonna leave that up to Tori since
she's the one who would be pushing for it.
And so I think that's unlikely to happen.
we, like I said, we don't
even know if Tori can.
If she has a relational political
capital at Saddleback to get a reserve
parking spot, she did say maybe,
but I'm gonna hold that l loosely.
Uh, here are the other options in lieu of
primo parking for a year at Saddleback.
First off is a big fancy trophy.
Now I personally am a
sucker for a fancy trophy.
. We do have a trophy already,
just so you guys know.
It's a tiger.
And I look at it every day.
It's on my desk.
Yes.
Yeah, that was, uh, one of last year's.
This would be an additional
trophy with the tiger.
So maybe you could say it kind
of takes away from it a little
bit, but a trophy is a trophy.
Uh, or it could also be a WWE style,
uh, wrestling championship belt.
Uh, we've done that at another league
and it's great and I've never won it and
I would really like to have it for you.
Up next is.
What I'm calling a custom winner box.
Now, what is a custom winner box you ask?
? Yes.
What is a custom win winner box James?
A custom,
But yeah, it is, it's a box where everyone
else in the league not the winner has
to spend between like five and $20 and
putting, coming up with what they feel
like is a cool prize for the winner
and, uh, make it kind of personalized,
like something that they would like.
Think of this as though like you're
at camp or deployed in the military
and all your friends put together.
like a care package.
Yeah.
Uh, a care package, but for the winner.
Okay.
And this seems like, yes, it seems like
something that you would get at a raffle
at an all staff event, uh, which is kind
of the vibe we're going for now, I guess.
Uh, you do want it to be a little nice
and as lead commissioner, if your stuff
for whatever you put in there is not
good enough, you'll have to do it again.
So.
Here we go.

winner box, the fancy trophy.
And then thirdly, I was, I was
thinking about the third option
because one of the requests that we
regularly get for prizes, and we did
this the first year, is a jersey,
but not everyone is a Jersey person.
. No.
And so I thought, what
if everyone contributed?
Like we, we have a 12 team league.
If everyone contributes 20 bucks, that's
a total of 220, not counting the winner.
So instead of a jersey, what if we
just got them a really good pair of
shoes, a pair of shoes of their choice.
Now I think this is great because you can
wear shoes more often than a jersey also.
If everyone has shoes in that price
range that they like, but that
they're like, no, that's too much.
Well, now's your chance.
. I've never even looked
at a pair of $240 shoes.
Like, I avert my eyes.
I don't know what they look like.
Your eyes are so pure
, okay, let's repeat the choices.

Up next is this week's preview.
What's gonna happen this week, we're
gonna start off game number one,
Saint Clause's versus Gator's army.
It's a team of one-on-one versus
another team of one-on-one.
And this one honestly is hard
to project because Gabby has not
swapped out her quarterback yet.
Uh, people haven't made any tweaks.
For those of you who are new here,
there are a couple different ways
you can improve your team as injuries
occur, or, uh, new stars start to rise.
First, obviously is swapping someone
out with players on your bench.
It's very easy when
you're in your profile.
You just click on the little icon next
to the player and move it to the bench.
Uh, you can only swap in wide receivers.
In the wide receiver spots,
obviously running back, et cetera.
Flex could be either a wide receiver,
a running back, or a tight end.
Almost always you're gonna go with wide
receiver or running back, though there's
not that many good tight ends out there.
But let's say you had a key piece and just
don't have that on your bench or whatever
that means you have to go out to waivers.
You also kind of want to keep an
eye on waivers in case there's a
rising star in case someone who might
even be on another team was like
the main guy and he got injured.
So the backup is now
gonna be the main guy.
It's a good idea to
keep an eye on waivers.
The way waiver works is
prior to Tuesday at midnight.
You put in your waiver order.
Now, you can't do this until after
your players are done playing.
So, uh, Tuesday morning through
Tuesday night, you can put in your
picks for waivers and, uh, once that
goes, then based off of your pick.
If you are the only one who picked that
person, congratulations, you got 'em.
Now, you'll also have to drop someone
from your team, usually somebody
from your bench, or in this case
probably Joe Burrow, her starting
quarterback because he got injured.
He's not gonna do her any good, but you
can only have so many players on your
team, so you have to drop somebody.
Otherwise, you could just take
all the players off in waivers,
so you have to drop somebody.
Now the question is what happens?
If more than one person is
after the same guy on waivers,
In that event, if more than one member of
the league wants the same person, waiver
order is determined by record and score.
So the person with the worst
record gets higher priority pick.
If you are oh and two, you get priority
pick over someone who's one and one or
two, and oh, if you both have the same
record, then it goes based off of score.
So for example, if we're both one
and one, but I've scored less.
Then it goes to me.
all right, so back to Gabby versus Jesus.
I think Gabby probably is gonna be
looking at a different quarterback.
She has two good ones on her bench, so
I'm not even worried about her picking up
one from waivers, assuming she does put
it in a quarterback like Justin Herbert.
Justin Herbert is projected for 18.
That means her projections would be
slightly higher than Jesus, barely, but
he also has not made any tweaks either.
Hannah, what are your thoughts?
Yeah, I think this matchup was gonna
be close, and really, I think this
is gonna be true across the league.
This we've had, this is our third week,
so a lot of people are one-on-one.
And now is when we're gonna kind
of see, you know, the leaders
pull ahead and there's gonna be a
little bit more of, of, you know, a
variance between the highs and lows.
I am gonna go with Gabby.
Okay, Gabby, are you just trying
to make up for your predictions?
? No, I am not.
I am going along with my predictions.
Okay.
Gabby is gonna win it all and
she's gonna win this week.
And SC Masters versus Ang.
. I have to stay consistent.
You guys, my team is not that great.
I don't have a good team.
I mean, Serena's team
outscored us last week, right?
I don't know.
I'm gonna go with Ang Serena's team.
Alright.
Uh, I honestly, I think
this is a tough one.
I think I gotta go.
I feel like Serena's
due for a bounce back.
I think your team's better and I
think you're sandbagging a little
bit, but I do think Serena's
team is due for a bounce back.
And speaking of bounce back,
will team Hulk smash bounce back?
Uh, against Courtney Cabella
continuing on her hot streak of of one.
Who do you think is gonna win?
? Who do I think is gonna win?
Yeah.
Um, I think Hulk Smash is gonna
get this one, although Mahomes
has been doing pretty good.
I dunno,
I actually think Courtney Cabella is
currently one of the strongest teams
in the leagues, uh, by kind of a
lot, but also on an Injury Pro team.
So I think she might have this one.
I also think she's gonna start off
hot and then run into injuries.
Christian McCaffrey, maybe Jonathan
Taylor, maybe Mike Evans and probably
Mark Andrews are all gonna get
injured at some point in this season.
. I think I've had all those guys
before and yes, that's true.

versus two in the rock.
So close.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I think Sue is due for a win.
She got robbed this last week and I
think that she does have a good team.
Sorry Natasha, but I'm
gonna give this week to Sue.
Yeah.
I also think now that Sue
knows how to log into her team,
it's gonna be a game changer.
Y'all are in trouble.
Uh, Lamar Jackson could
really carry her team cd.
Lamb also is incredible this year.
I think Nico Collins has
underperformed so far, but is at
some point he's gonna break out.
Like it's inevitable.

Bed, bath and Bijan versus Ami la Mario.
. What do you think James?
Know I am gonna go with, uh, I think
it's a tough one, but I'm gonna go
with Kelly Bed, bath and Bijan, because
Chris's team is really Cincinnati
heavy and they just lost Joe Burrow.
So I don't know how that's gonna
affect Chase Brown and Jamar Chase
if they're gonna be able to keep up
the same pace that they have been.
. Um, I could see Jamar
Chase's, um, value going down.
I don't know.
I think they're gonna run it more.
I don't know who their
replacement quarterback is, but
Why it's Jake Browning.
. Oh, wow.
I'm sure.
I don't know.
I don't know anything about him.
He's got a nice last name.
And last but not least,
stronger Mahomes versus Todos.
. I don't know.
Um, let's see, one in one, two in one.
Looking at the matchup at this point,
I mean, Tor Nerdo has a huge advantage.
That being said, James likes to
tinker with his team like all week.
Um, but I don't know.
I mean, just I think tornado
just looking with my heart.
