We're going to take a look at five
blind spots that I see robbing

personal brand businesses-- trainers,
consultants, and coaches-- robbing the

results they want from their business.

Now these are very common.

And oftentimes we're walking around with
these five blind spots and because they're

blind spots, we're not really aware.

We're not connecting the dots as to
how these things that we're carrying

around are actually robbing the results
we want from our coaching consulting

or training personal brand business.

We're going to run through these real
quick because I want you then to take

some time to now think about these and see
which ones resonate with you so that we

can get rid of this blind spot together.

Number one, blind spot number one.

Your still messing
around with your website.

So if you're a trainer consultant or
coach, and you're still constantly messing

around with your website, and one of the
reasons you're still missing around with

it is you're just not satisfied with it.

You're not happy with the
results it's getting you.

You're not proud of it.

You're not confident about your website.

These are all signs that your website
is actually a blind spot that is

robbing the results you want from you.

Now if you've got a graveyard
of websites, website attempts.

So you've started one.

Or you've put some to rest.

So many of us in this space have
a graveyard of websites that we've

tried and we just had to bury.

Or if you don't have a graveyard,
maybe you're just ready to give up.

Like I keep messing with it and
then I just try to avoid it.

Cause it's maddening.

And then I come back to it.

And I still can't make it really do
what I want it to do for my business.

I'm not sure what to put, where.

I'm just ready to give up.

So if you've got a graveyard or if
you're ready to give up, when it comes

to you messing around with your website.

And this is likely what
many of us are blinded from?

What is it that we're not seeing?

Well, if you're still messing with
your website, I want you to take a

minute again and consider this reality.

There are more website platforms,
website builders, more options

for you to create a website than
there are stars and this sky.

So with all of those options,
many of them spending millions of

dollars to get in front of you and
to market to you and to tell you.

" Our platform has solved the problem.

No more challenges.

Anyone can build a
website on our platform."

One example would be Squarespace.

They run super bowl ads.

You know how expensive Superbowl ads are.

They're usually upwards
of a million dollars.

So they're spending that kind of
money to get in front of you and

tell you we've solved the problem.

Creating your own website is
not the challenge anymore.

So if you're still messing
around with your website.

If you've got a graveyard of attempts.

If you're just ready to give up.

That's probably a blind spot and
here's what you're blinded from.

You're probably lacking clarity
around the purpose of your business.

You probably don't really know what
kind of business you want to build.

And what happens with the website?

I've said this before.

I will say it again.

A website.

Is like the Mike Tyson quote, where
he said the boxer, the famous boxer,

he said, everybody's got a plan
till they get punched in the face.

Your website, just stares back at you and
asks you questions about your business.

If you don't have clarity around what
kind of business you're trying to build.

It's not the website builder or the
platform that's really the issue.

What's your blinded from is that you're
lacking clarity around the purpose of the

consultant, coaching or training personal
brand business you actually want to build.

And that case it's an issue of
purpose, not an issue of finding

the right website platform.

So if you're still messing
with your website, That is one

extremely common blind spot.

It's robbing you of the
success you want because.

Ultimately, that's just a symptom.

The reality is it may be indicating
that you're not sure exactly

what kind of personal brand
business am I trying to build?

So you're lacking clarity around the
purpose of what it is you're trying to do

while that sounds remarkably elementary.

How could I be.

At this and making some money at this
for three months, six months, two

years, five years, and still not have.

Purpose.

It's possible to keep moving down that
path to to be generating some revenue.

But if you're still messing with
your website, given the fact

that there are more options than
there are stars in the universe.

Then, perhaps the issue isn't that
you just haven't come across the

right platform, perhaps the issue is.

A lack of clarity around the purpose
for which you are in business.

That's blind spot.

Number one, you're still
messing with your website.

Blind spot number two.

When asked, "Hey, so what do
you do?," you freeze, you fumble

for words, or maybe you faint.

So if that's you and you just hate that
question and many of us may, and we

can see it coming, you've been in that
conversation or you're going to an

event or you're going to be at someplace
where that question is going to come up.

So, what do you do?

For those of us in the personal
brand space, it can be very

difficult to answer that.

Because if we're talking to a group
or someone that, that they're not

in this space, this can be very
confusing for some people that they're

not sure what a personal brand is.

So when somebody asks you, so
what do you do if you freeze.

If you fumble for words, or maybe
vomit, or if you are just ready to

faint, like your knees get weak.

Then there's a chance that this is
a blind spot and what you're being

blinded from is that you're lacking
clarity oftentimes around positioning.

So you may know very well, the
kind of consulting or training or

coaching business that you're in.

But you may be struggling with the
best way to position that so that

other people go, oh, I see what you're
doing and what problem you solve.

Oftentimes when we're not sure what to
say when somebody says, so what do you do?

Oftentimes that's because we're
lacking clarity around positioning.

How do I position this well so that
other people understand what I'm doing

and if this is a good fit for them.

Blind spot number three.

If you have more than two unfinished
books, uncompleted courses, unfinished

programs that you thought would help
you in the last 18 months-- but they

haven't helped you-- then there's a good
chance that this is a blind spot for you.

And what happens is you might
not be in the right place.

You might not be in the right place.

Here's what I mean.

When it comes to books, lots of courses,
and lots of programs here's what I find.

And maybe this will resonate with you.

It becomes easy in some of those
places to hide to glide or to slide.

If it's a larger program
where you're one of two.

30 20 or 30 people in the course.

Or the program or 50 or 60 or whatever.

It becomes easy for those of us.

That are unsure, right?

If there's a place where we just can
sit in the background and we can hide.

So we feel good because
we're there's activity.

I bought the thing I'm working
through the modules or whatever.

I show up to the calls.

But because of the size of
this thing, I'm able to hide.

Sometimes with books or courses,
if they're standalone you go

do them yourself, it's easy
to just glide through those.

Yeah.

I read that book.

Everyone said it was a great book.

I just skimmed through it.

Just gliding along.

And I checked it off the list.

But nothing in my business
actually changed as a result of it.

Or because you're isolated.

Then you start something,
but then you begin to slide.

You begin to slide into doing all
sorts of different things, headed

a million different directions.

And you've lost.

You've lost focus.

So if you've got more than two unfinished
books-- like this book is going to

be the book-- courses or programs
that you've purchased in the last 18

months, and you have not completed
them, then there's a good chance that

you just not found the right place.

These are places that allow you
to hide to glide or to slide.

And you need a place, you need
a context where you're not

allowed to do those things.

Where there's nowhere to hide
because there's not large numbers.

There's nowhere to glide because
you're not over there by yourself.

And there's nowhere to slide because
somebody's going to pull you back

up and say, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

Don't go down that way.

Let's stay focused.

Let's come back to this.

This is what we need to do next.

So it could be that you just
haven't found the right place.

You may need a place where there's
either one-to-one or a smaller group

where you can't hide glide or slide.

Blind spot number four.

What you could offer folks in
your consulting, coaching or

training business is a mile long.

What you are currently getting
paid for is an inch deep.

So if that's you like,
oh, I could do this.

Or I could offer that.

If you've got a list, a mile
long of what you could offer.

The training you could do.

The consulting work you could do.

The people you could coach.

If that is a mile long, but what you're
actually getting paid for today is an inch

deep, then this is a blind spot that's
robbing you of the results you want.

And what it's blinding you from
could very well be that you just

don't have the platform that you
need yet in order to offer the

things that you would like to offer.

So if you've got this
list, why could do this?

And I could do this, but I'm only
getting paid for this one little small

thing over there, it could just be
that your platform is not big enough.

That your audience and your
influence is just not there yet.

And you need to grow that.

So it could be that I need to
focus on growing my platform,

my awareness, maybe I'm going to
focus on some content marketing.

I'm going to get out there a little
bit more so that I can raise and

elevate my platform a little bit more.

And then I can go offer
either more or bigger things.

So that's blind spot number
four, and then the fifth one.

The fifth blind spot that is very common
that will Rob you of the results that

you want is: if pricing and even naming
your offers, what you want to offer

just always feels like a crap shoot.

And this is true for many of us.

I don't know what to charge for this, and
you're just going waffling back and forth.

Should I charge a hundred dollars,
a thousand dollars or $10,000?

What do I call this?

I don't even know what to call it.

So if you struggle with pricing and
maybe even naming your offers, and

that always feels like a crap shoot.

That's a blind spot.

That's probably blinding you from
seeing that you're lacking clarity

perhaps around the actual people that
you want to go help in your consulting,

coaching or training business.

When you're not real sure of the
actual people you want to go help.

Here's what happens.

When you're not exactly clear,
laser sharp focused on...

This is an offer that's going
to go help this group of people.

What happens is, now, you're not sure
of what value will this bring to them?

But when, you know, for sure.

This is aimed at this
particular group of people.

And I know that it's going
to be this valuable to them.

It's going to help them.

Either generate this much money, it's
going to help them save this much time.

Now you've got an idea of value
because now that's attached to

a particular group of people.

So what value you might bring to CEOs
versus what value you might bring to

kindergarten students is very different.

So, if you're struggling with your
pricing and your naming at times,

that feels like a crap shoot.

It could be that you're lacking clarity
around exactly who is this going to help?

What group of people will this help

?
Because if it's going to help them now,
I've got a pretty good idea of what kind

of value this is going to bring to them.

And if it brings X amount of value,
then it is fair to charge this price.

So there are five blind spots that
might be robbing you of the results you

want from your coaching, consulting,
or training personal brand business.

I'll recap them real quick.

If you're still messing with your website.

There's a good chance that
you have a blind spot there.

And the blind spot is you're not real
clear on the purpose of your business yet.

Blind spot number two when asked.

So what do you, do you
freeze fumble or faint?

Then there's a good chance you have a
blind spot and that blind spot is you're

not real clear on your positioning,
how to position yourself in the market.

Blind spot number three.

You have more than two unfinished
books, courses or programs that you've

bought in the last 18 months and they
have not helped your business yet.

Then you have a blind spot and it may
be that you haven't found the right

place or the right context for what
kind of environment do I need to be in

so that I don't hide glide or slide?

Blind spot number four was, if what
you could offer is a list that is a

mile long, but what you are currently
getting paid for is only an inch deep.

It could be that you have a blind
spot that your platform is not

quite large enough yet to go
a make those kinds of offers.

And then blind spot number five
pricing in naming your offers

always feels like a crap shoot.

It could be that you're blinded to the
fact that you're lacking clarity around

the people that this is going to go help.

Because once you know the people
it's going to go help, you should

be able to attach value to this.

This is going to bring this kind
of value to this group of people.

Therefore, I can price it this way.

So there you have it.

Five blind spots robbing you
of the results you want from

your coaching, consulting, or
training personal brand business.
